So, starting off, Hamphrey mailed me a Beautiful Statue, my first thought when I saw it was "booby" and then I remembered I didn't have it in the museum yet, yippie.

Like back in New Leaf when Laria Nook was cornered to a wall by Jay and Lyman (my old followers will remember that) well the same happened in New horizons. It is a tradition at this point I guess.

Lyman and Jay are jock rivals and don’t get along in my games. While Lyman is jealous of the attention Jay gets because Jay is my favorite villager, Jay is completely clueless of Lyman’s hate (or is he?). Even if Jay has more common sense that Lyman when challenged he is going to make sure he always comes on top...even if the challenge is cornering Laria to a wall :/ 

Man she can’t get a break from these two. At this point Laria Nook is so used to these fools that this is just another normal day in Drimusa island.

I actually love when funny things like this happen as it provides more content for my headcanons and enjoyment of a game. I got stuck there in 2020 and let me tell you I thought I had to restart the game to get unstuck but after a lot of running I finally got Jay to let me out.

Development

Lyman’s prototype, Olly, was partially recycled into two other characters: Lucy, who was raised in the wild, and Cedric, who spends all his time in the woods and talks to animals. Rough Sketch reigned him back in and made him more of a hippie character, but the talking to animals remained before mutating into outright aura vision.

From then on he became an archetypal stoner character despite never touching the stuff. His personality subsequently changed as ICT proper went on, going from zen and passive to far more alert and eccentric between his first and second appearances. As a side effect, he’s also a lot weirder than he used to be.
