Here’s a bunch of ac builds I’ve made this week
Luna
Phantasm
Evileye
Lacewing
Plasmid
Corwid (and their main decal because I like how it turned out)
And corruption, who is my favorite
#armored core#ac6#corruption is loosely based off nidus/the infestation but the pictures are so blurry it’s kind of hard to make out the decals#all of them have custom decals I made but the crow one was the only one I remembered to take a sc of#maybe I’ll add in some of the other ones later

In a fit of "Fine, I'll just make it myself" after seeing that Bandai hadn't announced a Steel Haze Ortus/Alba frame kit yet, I decided to try my hand again at making a kitbash that looked close enough to the one I used in game that I could pose around. I got inspired after getting the AC6 artbook and seeing Takayuki Yanase's original drafts, and started figuring out similar looking mechs that could serve as parts. For this I used pieces from Full Metal Panic's Arbalest and Laevatein, since the chest pieces of the Laevatein had those same flat chest pauldrons that the actual Alba Frame has, and used the chest and legs from the Transient Gundam since the feet were similar. Next I used the waist from the Core Gundam 2 and I had a buddy 3D print resin parts for the side skirts and head, since I really wanted the look of the six eyes the Alba frame had. Lastly, another friend of mine was able to send along the actual 30 minute missions AC kits from Japan, and I took the beam slicer from the Steel Haze and the laser drone launcher from the weapons kit along with modifying some machine guns from Alto kits.
I used fluorescent paint for the eyes and metallic stickers so that they glow under a UV light. Mainly I used the metallic stickers to emulate all the little sensors as seen in the game. Then I printed out custom waterslide decals for the emblems used on the pauldrons. As part of the little bit of lore for it; I decided to think of it more as a derivative of the Alba Frame and gave it a slightly different designation 'ALBA-TYPE W'. This way I could justify to myself why it's not 1:1 with the one Rusty gets.

I love my decals~
Painting it extra with the decals, even just red squares to add color in places I could not normally, really does go such a long way to personalise the AC.
NIGHTWATCH might just be a lightly customized LOADER 4 with different internals and the shade eye head (weapons alter from mission to mission) but it does feel like my AC because of this.
This game is so good. Easily become one of my favorite games. Maybe I'll actually put together a list someday. Although most picks would be hard if I narrow it down to a certain number. Cyber sleuth and AC6 are both on there probably though. Ex Astris might but I wanna replay it again before saying for sure. Arknights probably is.... Halo 2. I think Enderal could make it but I have yet to finish a playthrough so not sure yet.

Another ACosplay, this time the insanely obvious Zowort Heavy from G-Witch! When the base Zowort was first shown off lots of people were comparing the design to that of an AC design, but it wasn't until the Heavy that I actually agreed. The Heavy looks like a straight up AC rip off, ngl.
You'd think that'd make recreating it in an actual AC game real easy and... you'd be half right. At least here in AC6, the body was pretty easy (though it annoys me, despite how much better AC6's visual customizations are, that there's still such a MH like restriction to what gets colored together, so separating the feet as totally different colors from the legs is impossible without using decals to cover up the feet in the preferred color), and had good easy options. But the WEAPONS. Yeesh. Despite how AC looking the weapons on the Heavy already are, AC6 is a newer game with newer visual design ethos and as a result nothing is as "simple" looking as AC is often known for. While it is true that the weapons in G-Witch are all energy weapons (with few exceptions), the energy weapons in AC6 don't feel right to the ZW's very simple boxy backpack guns and rifle. BUT NOTHING ELSE FIT ANYWAY.
Honestly trying to do cosplay builds is making me realize that there's no good photo mode in the game. Sure there's a simple, VERY simple photo mode in the assembly menu. But there's no options to change the background, the lighting, have the unit in "active" state with all the weapons primed, or put into other poses. And unless I'm blind there's nothing in game where you can like, pause, then go into a photo mode to take shots of the action.
Daemon x Machina and MASS Builder out here spoiling me for photo taking of mechs then the OG video game mech series comes back and totally drops the ball on a photo mode. Boo.

I just think that if anyone shares a custom decal in AC6, they should also say what platform they made it for, they are platform locked and I already seen some I can't use because they are on play station or something.

1. Yes, you are an augmented human who is basically owned by your handler who refers to your hound (it’s never outright stated but in previous games you could only get human augmentation by going deep into debt so I’m imagining that’s how you got here)
2. No character customization, you don’t see your pilot and they don’t have a backstory so that stuff is up to the player’s imagination
3. Yes! Mechs are made up of 11 parts (legs, head, arms, torso, jets, engine, computer chip, 2 hand weapons, and 2 back weapons) all of which have 7 color channels! Each channel can have patterns, rust, and shininess applies to them in varying amounts, and each part of your mech can be colored separately or all together. In addition there’s a fairly in depth decal creator so you can make custom logos or flags and place them wherever you want on your mech
4. That is the setting, but (without getting into story spoilers) you play as an independent mercenary so most of the jobs you take are from the corporations. There are a number of story paths but you do not play as the good guy, or at least you don’t go into the game as such
5. Yes but in different ways to their other games. A key part of the game is changing your build to deal with difficult situations as opposed to the dark souls method of finding ways within your build to overcome challenges (or just banging your head against them until you get it) so I found ac6’s difficulty to be a lot more manageable, almost like a puzzle of figuring out what to use against a given boss rather than a thing where I had to memorize all the boss’ moves. Not to say the fame isn’t ever difficult, there are a number of bosses that are definitely tough. Also unlike their other games ac6 has good keyboard and mouse support if you’re like me and don’t like using controllers
6. Yeah combat is extremely fast, you have a lot of ways to move and you and your enemies will be using up to 4 weapons at once. Some bosses are kind of akin to bullet hells. That said slower tanker builds are perfectly viable in a lot of places
Things I know (+ questions I have) about Armored Core 6 only from reading tumblr text posts and without having watched any gameplay
you (the player) are canonically referred to as a dog (💯)
you are trans (character creation possible?)
you can design your own mech and the customization has a lot of detail (pride flag colors possible?)
takes place against the backdrop of a capitalist megacorp hellscape (will i get to fight the system in my giant death robot suit?)
made by Fromsoftware (Elden Ring, Soulsborne etc.), very hard
very fast paced unforgiving combat
#I struggled considerably less with this game than their other games#don’t get me wrong I do love dark souls and elden ring but that game was like a perfect difficulty for me#armored core#ac6#also the game has a really good story and soundtrack#long post
