This builds the expectation that the each note will be stronger than the previous note. The second phrase also begins in the same manner. #subdivide #tiednotes for #rhythmpractice In mm 40-44 of #concertoinaminor by J.B. Accolay, there is a sequence containing ties/slurs to #triplets in each measure. It’s easy to “fall behind” rhythmically in passages like these. This particular passage is additionally complicated by shifts immediately preceding the moving notes. I practice as follows (two videos): With metronome: 1) Subdivide to a single note value, triplets in this case.
