OKAY OKAY SO THE EOS - GTI THING (sending from my main lol)

In eos, the hero, grovyle and celebi are from a bleak and dark world they've given up all hope on and decide it's not worth living in any more, choosing to change the past to make a brighter future, despite the fact that this will cause the pokemon of the future to disappear forever. They're sacrificing themselves (and likely everyone else in the future), but they see it as worth it to not have to live in such a dreary world any more and make it better for everyone else in the long run.

They are the heroes of the story. Dusknoir and the sableye are pokemon who want to continue to exist and fear disappearing, and this is his main reason for opposing them. He is an antagonistic force to the heroes, hellbent on keeping the world he lives intact (until his redemption in special episode 5).

This is contrasted pretty largely in gti - where Munna and her gang see the world as too bleak and broken to be worth living in, and they're willing to sacrifice themselves in their goal to let it all start anew for the betterment of those who would exist after them - while hero and partner's team oppose that, wanting their world intact and fighting to keep existing. In THIS scenario, despite very similar mindsets to eos, the perspectives are reversed, as is who is interpreted as heroes and villains here.

Ofc there's more nuance to it than that - in gti's case the world hasn't hit the point of no return and munna is just lacking faith in those around her (and all that's really needed to stop all this is to be kind and have faith in others), but it's super cool and interesting how different they were able to make two different takes of a kinda similar motive.

8) Favorite battle?

Oh I gotta go with Asgore! From the theme, the background being on fire, the whole atmosphere, the sheer heaviness of it all to the point a certain narrator is uncharacteristically silent... It really feels like the end and the most important fight, so you'd be forgiven for thinking he was the final boss!

I... don't remember. But given I was playing with a controller and far away from my laptop, chances are I either couldn't type anything in time, just wrote a few letters or maybe Mettaton's name?

21) Your favorite place in UT and why?

I'd say Waterfall! It's the place where Undertale stopped just being a fun, charming little game and I became genuinely interested in the world, not just the main characters! As for favorite place to live... Snowdin, if it weren't for the dogs 😬

There's something about the chapter 1 that's been bothering me for quite a long time, and I don't think I've ever really seen the implications of it discussed...

... Someone locked Kris and Susie in the closet.

The above dialogue happens if you try to go back to the closet once you return to the light world. You could potentially argue that the door just slammed bc of the nature of dark worlds or whatever and that the door was only locked to give a narrative excuse to not let us back in, but...

...This is the flavour text when you try to go back into the closet after being 'banished' by Ralsei at the start of chapter 2.

...And this is the flavour text if you try to go back into the computer lab after you leave cyber world.

This makes it... Really clear that the end of chapter 1 is an exception. It does call to question who could've locked them in and why - did someone really want them to go to castle town (the Knight perhaps)?

It could even be something as innocent as a classmate (or alphys) going along with the classic trope of locking two people in a room until they sort out their issues with each other, but since it also seems like Noelle and Berdly were set up by someone creating a dark fountain in the library while they were sleeping in there (they had time to get their books out before ending up in the dark world after all), it's... Interesting. Maybe something to keep in mind for future chapters 🤔

... So I thought the oc I made when I was like 14 who happened to be Grovyle's evil brother was called Scar, but I did a deep-dive on deviantart earlier and discovered he was actually called Shroud. Felt less on the nose, slightly more relieved with my 14 year old self?

Then I looked deeper into the description on the art I was looking at. Shroud was just a nickname or something. His actual name was Riku. WHY RIKU OF ALL THINGS 😭😭😭😭
