adelaide and matt had slept in seeing as neither of them had training or a game.

the thing that woke them up from their nap was when addy’s older brothers best friends voice rang through their apartment.

“addy, are you home?” trevor asked.

trevor knew no limits so he walked straight into the younger girls room ready to jump in her bed. however, he was greeted with a sleep adelaide on top of a sleeping matt rempe

the new york native screamed causing addy and matt to jump out of bed.

upon seeing trevor, adelaide moved away from matt and stood on the side. she slipped a sweater over her head and turned to her brothers friend

“z, what the fuck are you doing here?” addy asked. she threw a shirt at her boyfriend, who simply pulled it on without a word.

“what am i doing? i came here to spend time with my honorary sister and im met with the rangers number one fighter. im concerned addy,” trevor rambled.

matt couldn’t help the smile on his face. after all the stories he’d heard about your brothers, trevor seemed like a true friend.

adelaide’s eyes softened as she lunged at the boy for a hug. “i’m fine z. matty makes me happy, like really happy,”

trevor patted the younger girls head and glared at matt. “that’s all i want addy,”

cole caufield

adelaide was having her monthly catch-up with cole as she cooked dinner for her and matt.

however, half-way through cole had to answer some texts on the team group chat leaving the two in silence.

whilst adelaide was cooking, she failed to notice her boyfriends arrival. the tall canadian stood by the doorway, admiring his girlfriend.

“well don’t you look so pretty,” matt complimented

the taller boy stood behind adelaide and pressed kisses on her neck as she plated their food in front of the camera.

when adelaide looked up she was met with cole’s shocked face. matt looked at her girlfriends phone and stepped back a bit.

“shit. is this what z meant? he mentioned you were seeing someone but i thought you’d tell me!” cole ranted.

“and you. you may be taller than me but i will fight you. god damn addy now i owe trevor $100.” cole muttered before ending the call.

william nylander and matthew knies

adelaide had been having a tough couple of weeks so she took some personal days and flew to toronto without telling anyone.

“adelaide?” willy asked as he saw the girl outside the practice arena.

he noticed her sunken eyes and the frail state her body was in. william immediately rushed to the girl and held her as she broke in his arms.

“come on älskling. you’re coming home with me,” willy asked matthew knies to help him, knowing that you two knew each other.

matthew helped put you in william’s car when your phone started ringing excessively. willy was tempted to ignore it but he didn’t know whether you’d told anyone of your whereabouts so he answered.

“ada!” matt rempe answered on the other side.

“this is william nylander, who are you?” he asked.

matthew urged his teammate to put the phone on speaker and that is what the blonde did.

“i’m matt. is adelaide there?”

“matt who?”

“matt rempe. look i just got back to our apartment and she isn’t here. i’ve called barzy and the martin’s but they haven’t seen her either”, matt rambled.

“she here. she’s in toronto,” willy answered.

“is she okay?” matt’s voice was timid, worried about his girlfriend.

“not really, but i’ll keep her with me for a bit,”

“can you hand her the phone please,”

william turned the phone off speaker and handed it to adelaide.

“matty,” she mumbled.

“hi ada, is willy going to make you feel better?” matt knew how close the two were during their time in toronto. he also knew that other than barzy and tito, willy was the only one who could get her out of a slump.

“willy’s the best. he always looks after me and kniesy’s here too. i miss you,” adelaide smiled at the two leaf players.

“i miss you too princess. get some rest and call me later, i love you,”

“i love you matty,” adelaide ended the call and was about to close her eyes.

“so you share an apartment with matt rempe.” kniesy stated.

adelaide hummed “i share an apartment with my boyfriend,”

brendan brisson

brendan and adelaide were in the latters room playing smash or pass whilst they waited for dinner.

brendan was scrolling through a girls list of hockey players on tiktok as they both shouted out their answers.

“eww i can’t believe people find my brothers attractive,” adelaide groaned seeing jack for the sixth time.

brendan laughed and continued scrolling until they landed on matt rempe.

“oh i’ve seen him on fyp, the girls really seem to like him,” brendan added.

adelaide let out a nervous laugh. “pass. he’s a ranger, i’d be hung,”

of course, the knights prospect read between the lines. “okay forget his team, smash or pass?” he asked.

“well pass, he’s not really my type i guess. i don’t know briss,” adelaide answered truthfully.

brendan scoffed. “i think you’d smash. actually i think you already have,” he accused the girl.

adelaide got off her bed and looked to her best friend. “w-w-what, you’re crazy brendan. why would i hook up with a ranger?”

“i don’t know addy but i think he’s the guy you’re soft launching. i mean when i showed you the picture you started blushing. whenever any of the guys brings your boyfriend up you just say he’s tall. also i saw the way he looked at you at the isles vs rangers game i went to,”

brendan gave his best friend a pointed look.

the girl caved fast confessing everything to brendan from the time she met matt to them living together.

“who else knows?” brendan asked.

“well cole, trevor, my team, kniesy, willy, our parents and braden schneider,” addy answered.

“how do cole and trevor know before me!!” brendan exclaimed.

“they caught us,” adelaide replied sheepishly.

mat barzal and the team

the islanders were out having drinks after their season and to celebrate adelaide's new sponsor.

of course, adelaide celebrated too much as she hung onto mat and slurred her words. her teammates found it amusing as she gave them all advice on their love lives.

"mat. i love you, i really do but i swear if you show up to training camp with a shaved head finding a girlfriend would be the least of your worries," she threatened.

the boys laughed as mat dropped the girl off on their goalie ilya sorokin. the girl then started counting in russian and muttering random curse words causing the others who understood to look at the girl in amusement.

"oh no, i have to factory reset her to english," mat groaned as adelaide began rambling on in different languages intertwining with her sentences.

adelaide then laid her head onto ilya's shoulder. "i miss matt," she mumbled in english. the poor goalie then pointed at his two teammates with the same name, making the girl excited.

"eww, that's not matt. i want to go home to matty," she whined.

matt martin carried the younger girl out the bar as she stumbled over her feet, mumbling about 'matt'. barzy was given her bag as he searched for a contact under that name.

just as he was about to hand the phone back to adelaide, she received a call from 'remmy 🐀'.

"ada, it's 2:30. you told me to call if I don't hear from you at this time," matt answered on the other end.

"are you matt?" barzy asked.

matt straightened up and prepared to head out the door. "yeah, I'm matt. umm is ada alright?"

"she's fine. i mean a little wasted but functioning,"

"i'll come pick her up. i've got her location, i should be there in ten minutes,"

barzy put adelaide's phone in her bag and hung it over his shoulder. "addy, matt's on his way," he told the younger girl, holding a bottle of water to her lips.

despite some having families and significant others, they all waited to ensure that adelaide got home safe even if that meant they walked across the city for her.

the sounds of matt's jeep alerted the crowd and the boy pulled up as close as possible before stepping out.

adelaide smiled at the sight of her boyfriend. she pushed away from her teammate and stumbled into matt's arm, the boy catching his girlfriend.

"matty, look this one and this one has the same name as you!" she exclaimed, pointing at the other two.

matt smiled at adelaide's teammates and fixed his grip around her waist. "come on ada, let's get you in the car and then I'll run you a bath when we get home,"

adelaide’s teammates looked at one another and then at how comfortable the girl was. “bye friends! i’m gonna miss you,” she shouted out the car door.

“is that?” one of the guys asked as they watched the couple drive away.

“yup,” barzy replied.

“with ..”

“we all pretend we don’t know until she tells us,” anders lee told the group before they split.

A Herrmann/Halstead Production: Original Characters Cast

Hi! I thought it would be fun to put together a post with all of the people I would cast to play the original characters in my series, A Herrmann/Halstead Production.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

First of all, of course, is Bex! Rebecca "Bex" Herrmann is the main original character. She's the younger half sister of both Christopher Herrmann and Will and Jay Halstead.

Adelaide Kane is who I'd pick to play Bex. I think she looks like she could be related to both Herrmann and the Halsteads. (Bex and Will both got their brown eyes from their individual moms, but it ends up making them look more alike. Bex and Jay both got their freckles from Pat. Bex and Chris got their darker hair, nose shape, and smile from their mom.)

Next up: Bex's friends from college (and band mates!)

Kiki Layne as Kira Cole and Stephanie Hsu as Malia Lin. (Kira plays lead guitar in their band and Malia plays keyboard.)

Anthony Hill as Devon Robertson, Tyler Hoechlin as Sam Kent, and Rafael Silva as Isaac Almeida. (Devon plays drums in the band, Sam is Julie Tay's current patrol partner, and Isaac is running the Mouse/Bex betting board with Shay. I have a fun storyline planned for these three guys and Shay and Tay. :D)

Sinqua Walls as Ben Vernon and Florence Pugh as Faith Callahan. (Ben acts as manager for the band and Faith plays bass.)

Madison Iseman as Emery Hughes and Bryce Durfee as Ty Anderson. (Yes, Ty is somewhat older than Emery and the group. She met him once they moved back to Chicago, not while they were at school.)

Next is Bex and her band's new rock band friends: Taggert!

Matthew Daddario as Beau Taggert. (He is the middle Taggert sibling. He's also the lead guitarist of the band and one of the lead singers.)

[I wanted someone who could pull off being broody, sexy rock star guy, but also be fun and charming and kind of goofy. I think Matthew Daddario fits that bill pretty nicely.]

Beau and Bex. (Might need to do an AU of this AU where they end up together, lol!)

Katie McGrath as Patti Taggert. (She is the oldest Taggert sibling and the other lead singer of the band. She also plays guitar. Patti is engaged to Pete.)

Shelley Hennig as Elle Taggert. (She is the youngest Taggert sibling and she plays drums in the band.)

Oliver Stark as Pete Nash. (He is Patti's fiancé and he plays bass in the band.)

Next up is the bad guys (thus far):

Michael Shannon as Vincent Marsconi, aka Vinnie, Finn Whitrock as Cal Anderson and Bill Skarsgård as Robert Forrest aka Ramsay. (But he has lighter hair as Ramsay.)

Last, but not least is Mouse's support group:

Richard Schiff as Chuck Weiss, Christian Kane as Ed Spencer, and Jason George as Frank Bailey.

Brianna Baker as Ada Jackson and AJ Cook as Lucy Graham.

Those are all of the major original characters. Might have one or two more crop up and I'll add them here when they appear.

I want headcanons for a Phrack archeologist AU, please?

But of course, my dear!

1. Dr Jack Robinson of The University of Adelaide and Dr Phryne Fisher of the University of Melbourne meet at a Landscape Archaeology conference in Sydney and immediately hit it off. They’re presenting papers at the same seat - “Landscape and Man: The Role of the Untamed Environment In Society Shaping” - and strike up a conversation just before the lectures start. The Chair, Professor Tobias Butler of Sydney University, gets so engrossed in the discussion, that he misses his mark by five minutes.

2. He thinks her lecture about soundscaping in relation to prehistoric shelter finding is fascinating, she claims that his lecture on sacred bodies of water is riveting. They exchange email addresses and decide to stay academically in touch. Jack finds her PhD dissertation on Jstor and reads the entire thing - all 543 pages of it - in one night; Phryne searches for his profile on Academia.edu and reads and reviews all his posted articles.

3. Two months after the conference, Jack travels to Melbourne to visit his mother and asks Phryne out for coffee under the pretext of discussing a future collaboration. She agrees immediately but asks that they make it dinner instead - a girl’s got to eat, Dr Robinson; I can’t plan on an empty stomach - and suggests a quaint little Italian restaurant for their meeting. It takes him about a week to realise that he’d taken the woman out on a date.

4. Six months into their professional acquaintance they finally manage to execute a joint project and co-manage a dig together. Phryne takes her research assistant, Dot Williams, to act as field administrator; Jack takes his TA, Hugh Collins, as area supervisor. The dig lasts six weeks and produces three ground-breaking articles on the evolution of pagan rituals in South Australia; Phryne lasts one night before she sneaks into Jack’s tent.

5. It doesn’t take long for Jack to receive an offer from the University of Melbourne; he suspects Phryne’s behind it. Collins decides to follow him, claiming that he’d rather write his PhD at the best University in Australia; Jack studiously refrains from mentioning Miss Williams - it’s not like he’s in any position to be pointing fingers. They move to Melbourne a fortnight before the new semester starts.

Phryne greets him naked in his brand new office on his very first day; the christen the desk.

her dad is one of the co-owners of oliver & hughes studios so she grew up around the industry and became friends with a lot of child actors who worked on the lot

she did a few little guest acting spots in shows that filmed on the lot when she was a lil kid but nothing big

in the last few years shes gotten more attention for being a hollywood wild child than anything else

her dad didnt like that and he told her to do something productive with her time which was one factor leading to the founding of her band, Done Drugs (with cricket oliver and angie jeremiah)

Sydney and Melbourne Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks to protest as PM Scott Morrison falls short of Armenian Genocide recognition

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison has once again fallen short of calling the Ottoman Empire’s mass murders of the Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks as genocide, as descendants of the communities prepare to March for Justice under the banner of #SpeakUpScoMo in Sydney and Melbourne on Saturday 24th April 2021, reported the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC-AU).

Prime Minister Morrison released a statement on the occasion marking the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, once again reversing his own desire as a backbench Member of Parliament in 2011, when he said “we should recognise the Armenian Genocide”.

His letter went further than the one that caused great offence to the community in 2019, when he referred to the Armenian Genocide as “horrors that befell the Armenian people”.

This time, Prime Minister Scott Morrison conceded the Armenians suffered “enormous loss”, referring to “the tragedy of dispossession, deportation and death” and he referenced the eyewitness accounts of Australian prisoners of war, which “stirred outpouring of material and practical support from Australia” including “to the Australasian Orphanage in Antilyas, Lebanon”.

However, Prime Minister Morrison’s failure to correctly characterise 1915 as genocides ensures Australia remains behind over 30 nations, including the United States Congress, as President Joe Biden looks set to ensure his Administration joins his parliament in correctly referring to the Armenian Genocide in his widely anticipated statement this weekend.

ANC-AU Executive Director, Haig Kayserian said that what effectively amounts to the continued appeasement of genocide denial as outlined by Prime Minister Morrison’s statement will be the focus of the discontent set to be communicated by the Armenian-Australian, Assyrian-Australian and Greek-Australian communities, who have joined forces under the Joint Justice Initiative brand to lead their communities in protest marches in Sydney and Melbourne on Saturday 24th April 2021 and to continue to lobby for recognition of the genocides.

“While we appreciate Prime Minister’s recognition of Australia’s first major international humanitarian relief effort to aid the victims of 1915, his failure to call a genocide by name is unacceptable to our communities,” said Kayserian.

“The Prime Minister acknowledges there was dispossession, deportation and death suffered by the Armenians, which led to this relief effort, but his failure to call out the Armenian Genocide means these crimes were not committed based on the grounds of race.”

“This defies logic, considering the scholar who coined the term genocide, Professor Raphael Lemkin himself said he was motivated by the crimes committed against the Armenians and the Jews when concluding a term and legal convention was required to stop the cycle of genocide,” Kayserian added.

On Friday 23rd April 2021, an unprecedented number of Australian politicians offered messages supporting Federal recognition of the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek Genocides for the 106th Anniversary Commemoration, which was live streamed online.

Minister Paul Fletcher continued his steadfast support calling for national recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Government in which he serves, Premier Gladys Berejiklian similarly declared she was hopeful Australia will be the next country to join the side of truth and justice on this issue, as did federal parliamentarians Adam Bandt – Leader of The Australian Greens, Member for Berowra Julian Leeser, Member for Goldstein Tim Wilson, Member for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon, Senator Andrew Bragg, Senator Eric Abetz, Senator Kristina Keneally, Member for Mackellar Jason Falinski MP, Member for Reid Fiona Martin, Member for Macarthur Mike Freelander, Member for Macnamara Josh Burns, Member for Bennelong John Alexander, Member for North Sydney Trent Zimmerman and Member for Adelaide Steve Georganas.

New South Wales parliamentarians joining the chorus calling for national recognition included the co-convenors of the state’s Armenia-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Member for Davidson Jonathan O’Dea and Walt Secord, Member for Ryde Victor Dominello, Member for Prospect Hugh McDermott, and Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin.

In addition to these political messages of support, Prime Minister Scott Morrison has received letters calling for his accurate recognition of the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek Genocides from Mr. Trent Zimmerman MP and Hon. Joel Fitzgibbon MP – as co-convenors of the Armenia-Australia Inter-Parliamentary Union, Senator Janet Rice – as the Foreign Affairs Spokesperson of The Australian Greens, Hon. Jonathan O’Dea MP and Hon. Walt Secord MLC – as co-convenors of the New South Wales Armenia-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group, the New South Wales Young Liberals, the New South Wales Ecumenical Council representing 16 churches, Christian Charity Barnabas Fund Australia, Kurdish Lobby Australia, as well as from numerous prominent academics.

On 20th April, the New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies passed a motion joining their peak Executive Council of Australian Jewry reiterating their call on the Australian Government and all governments to recognise the Armenian Genocide at a plenum held in Sydney titled “Learning from the Holocaust: Why countries should recognise the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek genocides”.

“The evidence is in. Australia has already spoken on the issue of recognition of the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek Genocides. We are just waiting for our Prime Minister and his Government to join us,” said Kayserian.

“We will March for Justice on Saturday, we will continue to protest and advocate while continuing our conversation with our Prime Minister until we achieve recognition and justice in the name of 1.5 million Armenians, and over 1 million Assyrians and Greeks, who lost their lives for no reason other than their faith and ethnicity.

We long to be, under the sea, in the Octopuses garden in the shade. Hi everyone, wow, apparently Boeing are now making submarines, that’s right, subs! We start off with the news that Boeing is to supply 4 large unmanned submarines with a very large payload to the US navy. We would rather use them for science and building an underwater habitat, but hey, this means the tech needed is becoming a reality. Trust me, this is a cool topic to check out. Then we look at unions in the gaming industry and discuss what that could mean. Not everyone will be a fan, but if it helps protect people from overwork and burnout then it is worth considering as the owners and management of a lot of the software developers are only interested in themselves. Then DJ has news that Marvel is poaching another character and ruining it, Conan the Barbarian is now going to be a Marvel character in the new Marvel Suicide Squad, oops, erm, we mean Savage Avengers. Sorry for the confusion there, but it is easy to understand the confusion when it appears that once again Marvel is presenting content that is so similar to DC. Then we have our games currently played, and the plethora of shout outs for your enjoyment.
