The story of Hattie Ellen Stanley

In my post last month, I quoted from Goss's biography of RBM I, which included the following two lines:

"On November 20, 1894, Mr. Mills was married to Miss Hattie E. Stanley, of Binghamton, and to them one son, Stanley Sterling, has been born [in 1901]. They also have an adopted son, Bert [son of Dora Mills and Cyrus Packard]."

This post aims to expand on that topic by  focusing on RBM I's wife, Hattie E. Stanley, otherwise known as Hattie Ellen Stanley or Hattie E. Mills. I wrote on Find A Grave a simple summary of her life:

Hattie Ellen Stanley was born Jan. 5, 1862 in Binghamton, Broome County, New York. Hattie Stanley of Binghamton, New York married RBM I on December 22, 1894. I think a probable story can be proposed. Hattie was born in 1862 in Colesville, and was the daughter of Adison/Addison Stanley, a farmer (and later a butcher), and Jane M., living in Binghamton from 1872 until 1894. She also had one brother named Alonso who was three years older than her, and one aunt (sister of Addison) named Anna who was 15 years older than her. This residence means it is possible that Hattie, who was a teacher, just like Dora, met RBM I in the Hotel Bennett since he was working there from 1886 to 1896, making very likely they crossed paths. She would later marry RBM I and have one child named Stanley in 1901 after adopting Bert in 1895 (#181795438). Little else is known about her life.

That entry includes a photo of RBM I, Hattie, William and Mabel in 1921, but you can't see Hattie's face!

Luckily, there is another photo of her, RBM I, RBM III, Carol, and Helen, with the latter three being the children of RBM II, the son RBM I adopted in 1895, in the 1930s:

We know that in 1901, her father, Addison listed her as his "closest relative":

Beyond that, we know that Hattie was born in 1862 and died in 1949. Her father, Addison, had been living in Conklin, Broome, New York from 1850-1855. [1] By 1865, Hattie was age 3 in a household, in Colesville, Broome, New York, with her brother, Alonso Hiriam, her 37-year-old father (and farmer), Addison, and 26-year-old mother, Jane Mundane. By 1870, five years later, Hattie, age 8 is living with her brother, her farmer father, and her mother, in Vestal, Broome, New York. She is, like her brother, attending school. Five years after that, in 1875, she is age 13,  living in Binghamton, Broome, New York with her father, now a butcher, her brother, and her father's sister Anna K Watrous. We can also find her in 1880 in Queensbury/Queensberry, Warren, New York, said to be 16 years old, working in a collar factory (with her sister Carrie), and among six other siblings! It must be noted that these ages could be off due to errors by census takers. As such, the 1880 census is reprinted below:

With this, we can move on since there were no state censuses in New York between 1875 and 1892.

We already know, from the 1892 New York State Census, that RBM I was living in Binghamton as a hotel steward:

Not far away was Hattie, whom was a teacher:

With this, here is a map of all the places Hattie lived in New York from 1865-1892:

In the upper corner is an insert of Vestal, Binghamton and Coleville.

In years after her marriage to RBM I, after which she moved to Cincinnati (almost 500 miles away from Binghamton), her father would live in Hancock town, Waushara, Wisconsin (1900), in Bath, Steuben, New York (1905-1915), the last years in the New York State Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. [2]

There is, sadly, no record I have found, as of yet, of their marriage, which would have been presumably in New York. However, we do know, for certain they were married based not only on the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 censuses, but RBM's obit in 1950 and RBM II's marriage license application in 1921:

Says Hattie died in 1949. Hmm, "two nephews and three nieces." Who are they? Packards? DGVallender says in response to this question that "Yes, they are Packards as Robert was born a Packard & adopted by aunt/uncle."

In the process of searching on Family Search, I stumbled upon Hattie's Death Certificate in 1949. Her father is incorrectly named (its Addison, not "Anse") and her mother (Jane) is not even listed. Still, her birth place and year of birth is right.

I also stumbled upon an interesting document, showing that Hattie and RBM I tried to have a baby in 1899 but it died in childbirth (on August 2, 1899), which could be why they were glad to get a natural-born child two years later:

There was also a funeral record for Stanley Sterling Mills in 1934, with Hattie's name again incorrectly listed as "Harriet":

Make sure:

Before you code your first php page, make sure your Xampp is working and the first two check boxes are checked for Apache and MySql with a message ' Running '. And don't bother about filezilla.

Now open your browser and type 'localhost' (remove single quotes), if your Xampp was installed successfully then a default Xampp window will appear automatically.

Create a database in just 8 simple steps:

Now first you need to have a database to get user's log in/out status, to create a database first you have to open your browser and type in navigation bar 'localhost' then by default xampp page will appear then click on PhpMyAdmin link which is at somewhere down the page in tools section.

Now enter the name of your database 'test-login' and click create.

Now your database will appear in this list. You have to click on your database but here in my case it's 'test-login'.

Now create tables in your database. First enter the name of your table(of your choice) and then enter the number of columns will it contain. For your convenience i would like to suggest you, first write the columns names over a rough paper and think about their role in your database and also think about their size and behavior.

Now you have to create columns in your recently created table. Enter the columns name and their "type" (type of data you want to store like INT for integer and VARCHAR for character set ) and don't forget to fill their "length". Try to set the length near minimum-required.In my case.

now you have to set one primary key it is required because no two user could have same id. Thus first you have to set the index value for 'id' to PRIMARY KEY and check 'AI' for auto-increment. For example if your last user registered with id '46',then you do not need to set 'id' to '47' for another user it will be automatically set by default.

I hated him. I hated how quiet he was, How he was a puzzle to be solved, So mysterious and dangerous, So charming and handsome, I hated him. I hated that I fell so hard. I hated that he made me feel so different yet equal. I hated how his smile made me weak in the knees. Hated how his laugh made my day. Hated how I finally found love in my fucked up life. I miss him so much. I hate it when I wake up, And look to his spot, And how hard I cry when I realize, I couldn't save him. Our line of work comes with the fall of our friends, Our loved ones, And I knew this, I had no one when I joined, But he came along and made my world brighter, I love him so much, And I hate the pain that it comes with.

32. Do they have a bad relationship with their parents?

Uh Emilia, Nancy, Lilja, Adison

Whoever you are, fellow anon, you are in for a ride.

Emilia // Probably the saddest backstory for an OC I have ever made. This Bell suffered the hands of her abusive father for 15 years, finally running away a few days before her 16th birthday because this grade-A asshole tried sexually assaulting her. Thankfully, Perseus was a much better father to Emilia then her own real one.

Nancy // No, the Turner Siblings were in great hands with loving parents. As the oldest of two, when Nancy expressed interest in the military, her mother was not hands on. Her father was though, and before his death he encouraged her to join. Her mother soon agreed and supported her children's choice.

Lilja // No. Born in a country that barely gained its independence, only to be conquered once more, Lilja's parents and older siblings were always fighting and on the run. While her parents worked side jobs to have a roof and food, they also were part of secret organizations to fight off Latvia's Russian invaders. This meant that Lilja's older siblings mostly raised her, but nonetheless Lilja loved her family dearly and would do anything to protect them.

Adison // This survivor turned killer definitely did not have a good childhood, her parents were abusive, neglectful, alcoholics, and druggies. Her mother overdosed when she was very young, leaving her in the hands of her abusive father. Her troubled past captured the attention of the Entity, which would watch her and further screw up her life through betrayal and lost.

Adison stared at her reflection, lips thin in a line as her tired eyes inspected her injuries. Bruises, small lacerations, and a scab that would soon scar. Her mind is full of memories of 10 hours ago, the cries of her teammates as landmines were triggered and exploded, cutting through armour and flesh and slicing limbs into unrecognizable pieces.

"Williams, it's me, Lieutenant Morin. May I come in?"

Adison turned her gaze from the mirror and unlocked the restroom door, slowly opening it and looking up at her comrade, the second survivor of the accident besides her. Henry tried to give her a smile, but it came out strained and his face twitched, revealing that he is nervous and Adison felt all the more cautious.

"What is it, Henry." Adison says, gently sliding by him to go into her rroom. The lieutenant hesistately follows after her, fidgeting as he watches with awe as Adison unsheaths her weapons. She turns when he doesn't talk, raising a perfect brow as she tucks a loose strand of dirty, dark auburn hair behind her right ear. "Henry?"

With no warning, which Henry knew would have him killed in a nanosecond, he cupped Adison's cheeks and gently lifted her face, leaning down to capture her lips, careful with the cut on her upper lip. Adison freezes up, confused and not knowing what to do, but chooses to rest her hands on Henry's waist and presses him closer to her. The kiss, although a bit sloppy as it was Adison's first kiss, was full of pure love and gentleness, slow paced and careful. Adison is the first to pull away, face flushed but she gives Henry a smug grin.

"I'm covered in grim, dried blood, and sweat, and you decide now is the time to take my first kiss? You just can't help yourself, can you?" Adison teases, stifling back a laugh when Henry's face got dark.

"I really love you, Adison. Ever since we met at the main office in Alberta. I thought I lost you in Afghanistan, and it made me realize that I need you to know how I feel and holy shit I'm sounding so chessy-"

"Henry."

"Yeah?"

"Shut up and kiss me again."

"Oh, oka- hm!"

Their Eyes /Part III/ Adison "The Specter" Williams

I didn't recognize the eyes I was looking into, my gaze trying to break down a wall built so high that it was starting to feel useless, like a caveman against an army of Mongols. This realm provided the impossible, the thought of you seeing everything not even close to being true because of the merciless ways to die by the hands of unstable, straight up lunatic, or awfully silent killers. But these eyes I've known for years, these are the eyes I feel in love with– but they aren't the same.

Adison's eyes are blue, but not any blue, they are bright and sharp, like diamonds. They are a contrast to her red hair, a contrast to her pale skin, they are a contrast to what she holds herself to be because they let her emotions slip into her hard gaze during the hardest times.

I don't like the look in her eyes, how the bright lively blue became dark and unsettling that just staring into them felt like someone was squeezing my heart, threatening to pop everything in it. I saw this look before, and it's why I hate it. It's why I am scared of it.

The last time she had this look, it was when we were betrayed, and she thought she lost me. She thought the mission was royally fucked up beyond any repair. Her demeanor changed and she became bloodthirsty, holing up in the work out room, stacking files on top of files, and volunteering herself to any assignment that could get her hands dirty with blood.

Adison is still in there, because she was still in there when I brought her back to reality. The Entity took her, and I'm getting her back.

The Entity made a huge mistake: It brought the greatest intelligence agent in the Vendetta's timeline to the Realm. Henry Morins isn't afraid to search deep, dig up old and new secrets, and tear the Entity to death, after all, it's all part of his job. And he has a proposal waiting for him.
