Hemkund Sahib is open for tourists now!! Plan your travel and visit this beautiful Gurudwara surrounded by beautiful mountains 💕😍. Hemkund Sahib (also spelled Hemkunt), formally known as Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Ji, is a Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage site in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, India. It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh (1666–1708), the tenth Sikh Guru, and finds mention in Dasam Granth, a work presumed dictated by Guruji himself, where mythological components exist in the work. With its setting of a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks, each adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff, it is according to the Survey of India located in the Himalayas at an elevation of 4,160 meters (13,650 feet).[3] It is approached from Govindghat on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. The main town near Gobindghat (or Govindghat) is Joshimath. Do you have a HAPPY PLACE ??  Last year we went on a short ROADTRIP to CORTINA D’Ampezzo in ITALY. Watching the sunset at PASSO GIAU and SLEEPING in our Camper Van is definately one of my HAPPY PLACES.  The SURROUNDING of CORTINA D’Ampezzo is perfect for rock climbing, biking, hiking in the Dolomites and watching amazing sunsets.  On our way to CORTINA we had a little stop over at the PRAGSER WILDSEE in SÜDTIROL. It’s an amazing lake with a stunning view.  Definately a HAPPY PLACE. I guess everyone needs a HAPPY PLACE.

Patagonia is a popular hiking destination in Chile, even when on a strict budget.

Did you kow that the Hiking destination Patagonia is shared by Chile and Argentina? The Andes Mountain here is home to some of the and beautiful hiking tracks in the world.

The Chilean side is more about temperate rainforests and glacial fjords. Even though Patagonia is more on the expensive side of travel with an average of 50$ expenditure/day, we survived on 15$. transportation and accomodation cost is specifically high. So, how did we make it through? Hereś the secret- self-cooking, camping and hitchhiking. Cutting cost on these factors makes Patagonia way more affordable.

Hiking itself can be a biggie when it comes to saving money. Entrance fee are low and we were into to independent hiking. So, that saved us a lot on the route. Cerro Castillo, O´Higgins Glacier Hike, Pumalin Park and Torres Del Paine are some of the best known hike trails that we took.

To be honest, January-March is definitely the best weather out here. But, lets face it, so is the prices. The trails are busy too. March-April or October/ November too has fair enough weather and is always a better season when traveling on a budget to Patagonia. Nevertheless, pact appropriately!

As soon as I finished that last post, I left the fountain I was at and saw a couple trying to take a photo of themselves. I asked them if they wanted me to take it for them. They said yes. I asked them if they were from Kansas City and it they suggested anything to experience. Their names were Crystal and Mark and their energies together were enticing. Crystal breeds and loves puppies and then delivers them to new owners. We both passionately exchanged stories of our passion of animals, lifestyles and our phone numbers. What a electric energy exchange.

   Afterwards I went off on my own, Marcello wanted to stay in the van and read his book. It was perfect because I needed time to listen to my heart and spend quality alone time. I wandered around the city with the biggest cheesiest smile on my face. Fresh baked cookies were luring me into a bakery. I walked in and made friends with all of the staff. The cashier gave me a huge free cookie, just for being nice. It was awesome. I'm about to walk back to the van, but I see a huge flash of light in the sky in one direction. I decide to follow it and it leads me to the Magnificent Midland Theater. I walk inside and see a sign for who is playing at the Theater that evening; City and Colour. I listened to this band often when I lived in Hawaii and was going through hard times. I ask a random worker if there are tickets available. I'm still not sure if he was joking or not but he has a ticket in his hand and said someone gave it to him to give to a pretty girl. I giggle like a school girl and excitedly run into the venue. The concert was incredible. Everything was so clear. The lyrics that have resonated to me so deeply in the past have no longer served me anymore. I was in a different vibration at that time of my life. Those words once soothed my swollen soul and today they were a reminder of who I have grown to be. Tears of contentment show up. I allow them roll down my cheek and I love them. I get a text of my phone warning me that Kansas City is flash flooding. The show is over and Marcello picks me up in van. We leave the Midland and look for a place to sleep in the van for the night. It feels as through nature is pulling the weather out of my soul. All of those old limiting beliefs I have were washing away. 

That night, I felt myself in a new light. Half asleep, I listen to the rain crash down on the van and in this dreamy state I think I am floating down a river. I let the van flow the way it pleases and I trust that we are safe. I realize I am dreaming but become fully aware that I feel this way consciously.

Time for a walk on the wild side: Zambiaś walking safari

Welcome to Zambia, the land of walking safaris! No matter how long the walking trail is or if it is a lodge-based walk, game viewing on foot is not to be skipped for its obvious thrill.

Guided bush walks may not be unique to Zambia, but, the knowledge levels of the guides are undeniable. Exploration of the traditional rural living and the density of the forest is never complete without Zambiaś guides as they grow up in close proximity with the awe of the African bush.

The sticking landscapes and astonishingly remote Lower Zambezi National Park offers the best experience of tracking lions on foot. On one side the, the park has densely forested escarpment while the other side is flanked with elephant-filled islands and green banks of the mighty Zambezi.

The park is just a few hours drive from Lusaka. This untouched expanse is also known for unique activities like kayaking on various tributaries among hippos and crocs and picnicking in the middle of Zambezi on a sandbar. To experience the special Zambian combo, many travelers coup a morning bush walk with an overnight canoe safari down the Zambezi.

Back home. What an adventure. I got this legendary piece of reading to accompany me on my journey and finished the last pages that I left to read after returning home. Prepared myself a cup of coffee from the ingredients I carried with me from the adventure and finished the book. Sucking in inspiration for the future adventures 😉 After finishing the book, I realized that I spent almost the same amount of time touring South Asia as Mr Fogg used to travel around the world. It was one of those moments your imagination and inspiration starts running like a wild horse.
