if you live by one of these ports that us weapons are literally being shipped out of and it wouldnt seriously endanger you to get arrested... why would you not. move past the idea of 'adventurism' when this is probably the realest chance you have to intervene in the war economy. idk, i feel like, due to the structure of the american economy and the way that most americans are relatively at a distance from production and transportation, its rare to be able to directly strike at or disrupt key points of imperialist capital. breaking out of the impotence of left wing organizing thus far and their lack of consideration for the new structure of the global economy and americas role in it would be an important development in a genuine anti imperialist movement within the united states.

"ACAB includes the peace police" you're so right worstie the people (including diasporic Palestinians) volunteering their time to put their bodies between you and the murderous agents of state violence to keep you from being arrested or beaten half to death or worse who might stop you from making a unilateral decision on behalf of hundreds of people to #escalate and throw hands with an army of legally impunible stormtroopers are *exactly* the same as said legally impunible stormtroopers. The Israeli military has confirmed that shells from Lebanon have fallen in areas under Israeli military control in the Shebaa Farms.
The Israeli army’s announcement followed earlier reports in Israeli public radio that shells and gunfire from Lebanon have targeted an Israeli military position, mostly in the Kafr Shuba Hills.[...]
no group has, as of yet announced responsibility for the shelling.
The Israeli military said that it has focused its attacks on the areas from which the fire originated. Israeli authorities also called on all resorts near the Israel-Lebanon border to be immediately closed, Aljazeera Arabic reported.[...] Shebaa Farms, among other regions under Israeli control in the north, belong to Lebanon and they are considered militarily occupied by Israel.

RDA marine biologist Dr. Ian Garvin
He is a lab head for a SciOps oceanographic research team.
c. 2168 and 2169, during the beginning of the RDA’s recolonization of Pandora, he conducted field research in Pandoran oceans and among the Reef People.
He’s a seasoned scuba diver and went into predator-infested Pandoran oceans to take samples, image specimens, capture data, and dissect sea life (dissection of a tulkun brain would lead to the discovery of "amrita," an agent that can stop human aging).
For field research, he has a small mobile, habitable research lab vessel (a catamaran hull with a couple of trusses across it and two shacks built onto it). He could set up a shack on a beach to conduct research.
He interfaced with the Reef People (inc. Tonowari) and would drop anchor in their coves.
He is shown as being highly aware of the relationship between the Reef People and the tulkun. In the original script, Garvin meets Payakan in the water and uses the sign language for “friend,” which leads Payakan to leave him alone. The use of signing suggests the Reef People taught him this and other information.
Once amrita is discovered and one vial valued at $80 million back on Earth, he is coerced into aiding the tulkun hunting with the RDA threatening to shut down his research otherwise.
The knowledge stored on his datapad, which includes locator tags, is “stolen” to allow the RDA to find and hunt down more tulkun than before. Presumably, he was tagging tulkun to track their migration cycles.
He has taken to drinking to deal with the fact that his research is paid for by killing tulkun.
He survives the Skirmish at Three Brothers Rock

Director Landry's Involvement
As director of SciOps, Ian as a lab head reports to Brianne (while Brianne reports to Charles Stringer, RDA’s Head Administrator); she oversees the budget for his oceanography lab and field research.
Ocean research is high up on SciOps' objectives and Brianne makes sure Ian is given the agency to run his lab and field research as he sees fit. On land, hostilities with the Na’vi Resistance are hindering SciOps researchers and threatening field sites. The ocean presents more opportunities.
Brianne took the opportunity to join Ian in the field to oversee his ongoings. Visiting labs and research sites is part of her auditing process to assess budgets and research output.
Being a certified scuba diver meant she took the opportunity to see the ocean’s biodiversity with her own eyes. A close call with an akula and being saved by a Metkayina warrior (San'tos / @badtrigger) left her acquainted with the people of Ro’ok village of the Metkayina clan.
She does not meet the clan leader, Tonowari, but hears about him and the tsahik, Ronal, from Ian.
The discovery of amrita is a concern for Brianne as it is for Ian, and similar to him, she does not fully support mass hunting. But she understands the RDA is a business and the matter is set to move beyond her control.
Ian’s resistance to aid the hunt causes friction and threatens to shut down his research completely. Brianne negotiates terms. One was that funding from the hunts would also go to his oceanography lab in Bridgehead where a team is finding a way to synthetically recreate amrita.
Ian's placement on the hunting vessel to continue his research is also to make sure CetOps keeps their presence far from the Reef People shorelines. It's a security measure learned from the first confrontation with Payakan (Captain Scoresby is aware of this also). Ian informs Brianne of their ongoings.
Like Ian, she does not expect established relations with the Metkayina to survive these events. Amrita's discovery also stops on-shore field research in that region.

also any game that's not made by a communist is going to have reactionary politics or like at least reactionary political assumptions taken for granted. unless it's like pong or something ig. but if the game is complex enough, if it involves human social systems, and it's made by a liberal, yeah ofc it's gonna be reactionary. unless u just wanna exclusively play disco elysium and tonight we riot and those lil indie itch.io games made by communists but idk i think reactionaries sometimes make fun games. i mean minecraft was made by a fucking nazi and it is still present in the game itself w the villagers & iron golems

anticiv take of the day: workers have less power in 2024 than they did in the 1800s so you should stop trying to organize them. I make fun of anarchists for refusing to read Marx and Engels but you don't even need to know them. A Dickens novel or a high school history class should be enough to make this post look comically stupid. Never mind that the most successful revolutions did not involve wage laborers withholding their labor but literal feudal peasants.
the post goes on to instead advise disrupting supply chains with direct action. Disrupting supply chains with who? The only kind of adventurist sabotage you could do by yourself to actually make an impact on supply chains (and the post gestures at it, bringing up blackouts) - is shooting at power stations. This is almost the single easy way to get arrested by the FBI or equivalent as a leftist. They wouldn't need to manufacture bullshit RICO charges like they are currently already getting away with doing to the Stop Cop City folks, they can just use the actual terrorism charges they conspicuously avoid every time a Boogaloo shithead shoots at power stations. I'm not saying the deactivated OP or the person who put this post on my dash are feds - but recognize that this is the exact same kind of thing a fed would post. "Don't organize at work, it's too hopeless, commit traceable crimes with as few people as possible."
(I guess OP could also mean arson or bombings? The Weather Underground tried that, look up how it went for them - including the part where they all gave up on radical politics and became beltway Democrats, like every anticiv would do if they were offered the chance to.)

I have more than enough problems with anarchists but leftists have got to stop scapegoating them for their failures. The protest failed because the organisers weren’t prepared to do what was necessary, not because of ‘adventurist anarchists.’
yes i agree. and honestly the urge to militancy and action is one of the better aspects of anarchism in terms of moving struggle forward. i think that maoists share this with them too and its why im more particular to maoism. the left in the us in general would probably benefit from taking this on. i generally dislike the way anarchists theoretically conceive of their actions and the results, its also crazy how every anarchist communique sounds the same, but still theyre pointing out correctly that the action was a failure. i was looking at the comments on that anarchists groups post and its all this stuff about adventurists potentially endangering people but the organizers clearly didnt seem to think through the actual aims or format of the action. and on the issue of endangering, i think we all will have to grapple with the fact that there is no way for some of this to not be dangerous. not everyone will be able to participate and thats fine because its not the only thing to do but theres no way to actually remove danger if youre really going up against american imperialism. people have genuinely given their lives for this

"If we treat the Stonewall Uprising as initiating the modern gay mass movement in 1969, the left-adventurist line was initially dominant, and fell by the wayside in the late 70s. Those who led the first wave of the LGBT movement of the 60s understood themselves (however incompletely) as participating in a revolutionary movement and process: In broad strokes, the early “left” line groups of gay liberation located the center of gay oppression in the family form itself and were explicitly in solidarity with the women’s movement as in many ways the same as their own (ideologically if not always practically). The British Gay Liberation Front’s Manifesto reads
The oppression of gay people starts in the most basic unit of society, the family...At some point nearly all gay people have found it difficult to cope with having the restricting images of man or woman pushed on them by their parents...we are expected to prove ourselves socially to our parents as members of the right sex (to bring home a boy/girl friend) and to start being a 'real' (oppressive) young man or a 'real' (oppressed) young woman
The Boston Gay Men’s Liberation group argued in their manifesto for the collectivization of childcare and housework, saying
Rearing children should be the common responsibility of the whole community. Any legal rights parents have over ‘their’ children should be dissolved and each child should be free to choose its own destiny. Free twenty-four hour child care centers should be established where faggots and lesbians can share the responsibility of child rearing
Others explicitly aligned themselves with the national liberation and anti-imperialist struggles of the time –Third World Gay Revolution went so far as to explicitly call for armed struggle towards establishing socialism. The gay struggle, to these organizations, was necessarily part of the struggle for the end of capitalism and the liberation of all oppressed and exploited peoples.
Nevertheless, these groups primarily took the left-adventurist line, and the failure of these organizations to place politics in command and take up Marxism fully (despite its influence within the movement), and the failure of the leading Marxist organizations of the time to cast aside their chauvinism, place politics in command, and embrace the LGBT movement (most notably RU/RCP, which maintained that homosexuality was “perpetuated and fostered by the decay of capitalism” and to be eliminated under socialism until 2001 and engaged in conversion therapy-style practices on their gay cadre), allowed the bourgeoisie to co-opt the movement and suppress its revolutionary strains. By the end of the 1970s the main left-adventurist groups that emerged from the movement's popular initiation via the Stonewall Uprising (GLF, STAR, TWGR, etc) had collapsed, and were replaced by the newly dominant right-opportunist trend, represented in groups like Lambda Legal (founded 1971), GLAD (1978), and the Human Rights Campaign (1980). Occasional left-adventurist ruptures emerged over the succeeding years, with ACT UP's break (rooted in part in gay and lesbian anti-imperialist solidarity work in the preceding years) from Gay Men's Health Crisis representing the most significant of these, but over the next three decades the bourgeois "marriage equality" became the central demand of the movement, with the implication that once these various reforms proposed by the right-opportunist trend were enacted, the gay movement would cease to be necessary.
In the first two decades of the 21st century these reforms were realized, and the idealist fantasies of the leading bourgeois gay organizations were not. These reforms were granted because they reaffirmed the bourgeois family form, successfully assimilating the leading upper strata of LGBT people as a method of defusing the movement as a whole. While in some ways the broad social acceptability of homosexuality, transness and gender nonconformity have increased, the reaction to these reforms has produced a vicious effort to oppress the lower strata, typically trans people.
Indeed, all empirical evidence points to the continuing existence of anti-gay and anti-trans oppression. In our younger years, parents, teachers, and other authority figures will attempt to suppress any expression of homosexuality, transness, or gender non-conformity. The passive and active social enforcement of your sex/gender role is a universal experience, but is felt particularly acutely by those most directly in contradiction with those roles. When this fails, authority figures sometimes resort to violence and sexual abuse – gay and trans children suffer higher rates of psychological, physical, and sexual abuse across the board as compared to their cis and straight peers. LGBT people as a whole make 10% less than the average worker. This is felt more acutely among trans people, particularly trans women (in line with their cis counterparts), who make just 60% of the average. What bourgeois sociological evidence does exist points to significant discrimination in housing, jobs, medical care, etc. Accessing medical care is a struggle of its own for trans people – getting the treatment needed for basic day-to-day existence is often humiliating and expensive.
For younger LGBT people, particularly trans people, this political sequence has produced significant "whiplash." We grew up in a period of a real increase in broad social "acceptance," and being told that these reforms would guarantee an end to our oppression. But the utter abdication of leadership by the rightists following the reforms (after all, "we won") and the reactionary backlash has left the movement with a vacuum of political and organizational leadership at a crucial conjuncture. In the absence of this leadership, small groups have begun to emerge, largely taking up the left-adventurist anarchist line, sometimes explicitly. In some ways, this is a positive situation for communists. The broad masses of LGBT people are crying out for leadership in their struggle against the reactionary offensive, and the failure of the bourgeois rightist line to provide its promised victory has revealed to many gay and trans people, particularly those of the lower strata, the bankruptcy of reformism.
The current assault on our self-determination by the reactionary wing of first-world politics presents us with an opportunity to smash that trend, to effect a final rupture. Gay and trans people, particularly trans people, are increasingly forced into direct confrontation with the bourgeois state (through its repressive laws) and its extra-legal shock troops (with trans events becoming one of the primary targets for street fascist attacks). Not since the AIDS crisis have we seen such direct confrontation – and with it, openness to revolutionary communist political projects.
The task before communists in the gay movement is therefore to rectify the line of the movement through theoretical and practical struggle, to offer leadership to the gay and trans masses, and transform this movement into a detachment of the world proletarian struggle for communism."

healed ive been doing some very basic communist readings lately and. how do you cope with the fact that none of it seems particularly possible. how do you manage to put any of this theory into practice when the only two parties out there seem to be the We’re Basically Demsocs Party and the Sexual Abuse League. how do you not let it crush you and what ways have you found to like… manifest these ideas in your life? i guess one could say i was “radicalized” by recent events but having done basic reading (just beginner Lenin and Marx) has made me feel so much more hopeless. there’s no vanguard party and i don’t see what I can actually tangibly do to help proliferate communism. and it’s making me feel guilty for living my life, too, for doing things that I find fun and beautiful and enjoyable - there’s just the guilt of “this is a time-waster, this is brainwashing you”. do you have any assurance at all
so obviously the role of a marxist-leninist in a revolutionary situation (ie, one in which the conditions are revolutionary, in which the current bourgeois state is no longer tenable) is to be in a vanguard party at the head of the organized working class. but these things don't appear from nowhere--i think it follows that if you are in much of the world, where a revolutionary situation is not imminent in any forseeable near future, then the role of a communist is to help organize the working class and raise class consciousness through class struggle so that when such a situation presents itself the working class is both radical and organized, or capable of becoming such in short order.
that means that working within non-party organizations (unions, activist and mutual aid groups, grassroots campaigns) with the intent of learning the tactics of organization and radicalising the people around you is a meaningful participation in the class struggle. as much as i say 'get organized' and believe that a proletarian party is the best and most powerful vehicle for revolutionary action, that latter belief is of course to be taken and adapted for the situation.
do not be hopeless because you have read lenin--instead, be aware that when lenin was writing much of what he wrote, the situation of socialist parties across europe was dire. criminalized, divided just as they are now, replete with the exact kind of reformists you're complaining about (as well as adventurists). what lenin wrote about was not just a theoretical ideal party that did exist in his time, but instead the blueprints for the party he had a hand in creating. realize that lenin genuinely believed during periods that he would not see revolution during his lifetime.
organize with whoever you can, in whatever arena you can, and participate in the class struggle. develop the skills and understanding of the methods of struggle, even if trade unionism or climate activism alone are not sufficient vectors by which the contradictions of capitalism can be resolved, they are avenues by which your class consciousness and that of those around you can be honed and sharpened. find the most radical body around you and join yourself to their struggle--a vanguard party should emerge from the struggles of the working class, it should be an organization that serves as a vessel for effective action. you do not have to tie yourself to the decaying and rotting shambling zombie parties of the 20th century to participate in the class struggle--we as communists owe these organs no loyalty if they are not equipped for the realities of class struggle.
i'm lucky in that there is a small but dedicated group of marxist-leninists i have been able to join up with and work with. if that's not the case for you, conduct the struggle within anarchist collectives or trade unions or solidarity campaigns, while always keeping your true goal in mind. the class struggle unfolds across a multitude of arenas--as long as there's someone you can organize alongside on something, you are not powerless in your capacity as a revolutionary communist. good luck, comrade.

When Marxists say that certain groups, are adventurist, they have in mind the very definite and specific social and historical features of a phenomenon, one that every class-conscious worker should be familiar with. The history of Russian Social-Democracy teems with tiny groups, which sprang up for an hour, for several months, with no roots whatever among the masses (and politics without the masses are adventurist politics), and with no serious and stable principles. In a petty-bourgeois country, which is passing through a historical period of bourgeois reconstruction, it is inevitable that a motley assortment of intellectuals should join the workers, and that these intellectuals should attempt to form all kinds of groups, adventurist in character in the sense referred to above.
— V.I. Lenin, Adventurism, 1914
Let us go over to the second point, the question of terrorism. In their defence of terrorism, which the experience of the Russian revolutionary movement has so clearly proved to be ineffective, the Socialist-Revolutionaries are talking themselves blue in the face in asseverating that they recognise terrorism only in conjunction with work among the masses, and that therefore the arguments used by the Russian Social-Democrats to refute the efficacy of this method of struggle (and which have indeed been refuted for a long time to come) do not apply to them. [...] We are not repeating the terrorists’ mistakes and are not diverting attention from work among the masses, the Socialist-Revolutionaries assure us, and at the same time enthusiastically recommend to the Party acts such as Balmashov’s assassination of Sipyagin, although everyone knows and sees perfectly well that this act was in no way connected with the masses and, moreover, could not have been by reason of the very way in which it was carried out—that the persons who committed this terrorist act neither counted on nor hoped for any definite action or support on the part of the masses. In their naïveté, the Socialist-Revolutionaries do not realise that their predilection for terrorism is causally most intimately linked with the fact that, from the very outset, they have always kept, and still keep, aloof from the working-class movement, without even attempting to become a party of the revolutionary class which is waging its class struggle. [...] The first thing that strikes the eye is the words: “we advocate terrorism, not in place of work among the masses, but precisely for and simultaneously with that work.” [...] The day “when the working people will emerge from the shadows” and “the mighty popular wave will shatter the iron gates to smithereens”—“alas!” (literally, “alas!”) “is still a long way off, and it is frightful   to think of the future toll of victims!” Do not these words “alas, still a long way off” reflect an utter failure to under stand the mass movement and a lack of faith in it? Is not this argument meant as a deliberate sneer at the fact that the working people are already beginning to rise? And, finally, even if this trite argument were just as well-founded as it is actually stuff and nonsense, what would emerge from it in particularly bold relief would be the inefficacy of terrorism, for without the working people all bombs are power less, patently powerless. [...]
This fabulous argument, which we are convinced is destined to become notorious, is by no means simply a curiosity. No, it is instructive because, through a sweeping reduction to an absurdity, it reveals the principal mistake of the terrorists, which they share with the “economists” (perhaps one might already say, with the former representatives of deceased “economism”?). This mistake, as we have already pointed out on numerous occasions, consists in the failure to understand the basic defect of our movement. Because of the extremely rapid growth of the movement, the leaders lagged behind the masses, the revolutionary organisations did not come up to the level of the revolutionary activity of the proletariat, were incapable of marching on in front and leading the masses. That a discrepancy of this sort exists cannot be doubted by any conscientious person who has even the slightest acquaintance with the movement. And if that is so, it is evident that the present-day terrorists are really “economists” turned inside out, going to the equally foolish but opposite extreme. At a time when the revolutionaries are short of the forces and means to lead the masses,   who are already rising, an appeal to resort to such terrorist acts as the organisation of attempts on the lives of ministers by individuals and groups that are not known to one another means, not only thereby breaking off work among the masses, but also introducing downright disorganisation into that work. [...]
Nor does the leaflet eschew the theory of excitative terrorism. “Each time a hero engages in single combat, this arouses in us all a spirit of struggle and courage,” we are told. But we know from the past and see in the present that only new forms of the mass movement or the awakening of new sections of the masses to independent struggle really rouses a spirit of struggle and courage in all. Single combat however, inasmuch as it remains single combat waged by the Balmashovs, has the immediate effect of simply creating a short-lived sensation, while indirectly it even leads to apathy and passive waiting for the next bout. [...] This very point is explained in No. 8 of Revolutsionnaya Rossiya, which declares that “it is easy to write and speak” of armed demonstrations “as a matter of the vague and distant future,” “but up till now all this talk has been merely of a theoretical nature.” How well we know this Language of people who are free of the constraint of firm socialist convictions, of the burdensome experience of each and every kind of popular movement! They confuse immediately tangible and sensational results with practicalness. To them the demand to adhere steadfastly to the class standpoint and to maintain the mass nature of the movement is “vague” “theorising.” [...] Demonstrations begin— and blood thirsty words, talk about the beginning of the end, flow from the lips of such people. The demonstrations halt— their hands drop helplessly, and before they have had time to wear out a pair of boots they are already shouting: “The people, alas, are still a long way off....” Some new outrage is perpetrated by the tsar’s henchmen—and they demand to be shown a “definite” measure that would serve as an exhaustive reply to that particular outrage, a measure that would bring about an immediate “transference of strength,” and they proudly promise this transference! These people do not understand that this very promise to “transfer” strength constitutes political adventurism, and that their adventurism stems from their lack of principle. [...] Anyone who really carries on his revolutionary work in conjunction with the class struggle of the proletariat very well knows, sees and feels what vast numbers of immediate and direct demands of the proletariat (and of the sections of the people capable of supporting the latter) remain unsatisfied. He knows that in very many places, throughout vast areas, the working people are literally   straining to go into action, and that their ardour runs to waste because of the scarcity of literature and leadership, the lack of forces and means in the revolutionary organisations. And we find ourselves—we see that we find our selves—in the same old vicious circle that has so long hemmed in the Russian revolution like an omen of evil. On the one hand, the revolutionary ardour of the insufficiently enlightened and unorganised crowd runs to waste. On the other hand, shots fired by the “elusive individuals” who are losing faith in the possibility of marching in formation and working hand in hand with the masses also end in smoke.

It must be reiterated there can be no "left unity" with people whose political line is "do whatever you think is most Smart and Brave and listen to nobody, just continuously and directionlessly Escalate™️ or else you don't care about Palestine." This is plainly counterrevolutionary and simply fucking stupid behavior that is not helping a single fucking person in Palestine. The way these people are spreading their shit around the student movement and telling young people it's their moral duty to fistfight a cop or else they aren't doing anything meaningful is dangerous and disturbing. Seriously fuck anarchists and anyone else who subscribes to this adventurist bullshit.
