For once, Huaisang is glad that the Nie sect wears dark colours, even if he sometimes wears lighter shades. Today, he's wearing his standard shades of grey and dark green, golden accessories brightening the outfit.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be enough, since Mulan somehow still manages to catch the fact that he is bleeding. Huaisang is not supposed to be bleeding. Huaisang is supposed to be a lazy sect leader that doesn't do anything of his own accord unless absolutely necessary. Though, Mulan knows that isn't the full truth, even if he does enjoy being lazy. Unfortunately, sometimes, he had to do dangerous things, whether he wanted to or not.

"Oh?" he starts, pretending to not know what she's talking about. "I'm not. You must be mistaken." She is not.

All I wanna know is, if Tinkerbell’s willin’ t’ see what a relationship with her Peter Pan would be like. If anythin’ I can make you meals everyday.”

It wasn't often that he sensed someone from the heavenly realm this deep into the Wilderness of the Demon Realm. What was more alarming was that it wasn't the normal trespassers as the Demon King would like to claim them, not that he really cared if they came and went as long as they caused no harm.

Head slowly shifting to glance over his shoulder, he then rose, malicious power gathering around him like a red fog as he took a step forward and reappeared in the vicinity of where he'd felt the immortal's presence. Pausing for a moment as he spotted her gathering one of the rare herbs that could only be found in the wilderness before musing. "You know, it's rather rude to take something without providing something in return."

Moving forward slowly so as not to appear as a threat, he came up to his side and lifted one hand. His claws extended so that he could slice the pad of one of his fingers and allow a few drops of blood to fall onto the bed of herbs she'd been picking from. "If you pick the Heartless Grass without giving it emotions to purify with your blood, the roots will fully die."

He suppresses quiet laugh - he's older, after all, and he ought to handle this kind of thing with grace, he reminds himself, suppressing most of the amusement as well - and reaches out solemnly to put his hand gently atop her head. Exhales - "The good thing is that it's a pitfall you're not going to step in next time."

And overall it's not a DISASTEROUS thing that has happened out of inexperience. Musses up her hair only slight before he pulls his hand back. "First time for everything. I suggest forgetting all about it and finding somewhere with better wine."

Huaisang sighs and shakes his head. Mulan calls him stubborn, but she is just as bad. The young woman is clearly injured, yet she refuses his help. He could just let her be, but he doesn't want to do that, which means he has to use his secret weapon: blackmailing.

"You can either let me help you or I can tell Lan Sizhui about all of this. The choice is yours," Huaisang says, smiling sweetly.

Disappointing or worrying Sizhui, especially when he went into healer mode, was something no one wanted. No one. The young man is absolutely terrifying then. Huaisang isn't sure who taught him that. Wangji, probably.

"So, which way is it?"

Mulan came towards Yusuke, a small little cake in her hand that had a lit candle on it. It was a small gesture to help him get excited for his birthday, holding up the cake for him, she sang to him the traditional birthday song,

Motioning for him to blow it out, she gave him some encouraging nods before grinning, “Happy Birthday Yusuke! I got you something, here.” Shifting the cake to her other hand, she presented him two large cards. One of them held five front row tickets to see Aoi no Ryu, while the other, on suggestion from his mother, was the keys to a new boat that he could go fishing in.

The first birthday spent with her..at the very least he’d hope that this would be the year his friends would get the hint and NOT throw him a party of any sort. But, little things like this were accepted..it’s still nice to be reminded that the people in his life still loved him to some capacity..even if he slightly abhored himself at the moment. The cake..plus the song..they were enough to bring a small smile to his face whilst holding the treat.

He closes his eyes, sincerely trying to think of a wish..and then his mind manages to think of a great birthday wish.  (‘ I wish that one day, Mulan will have a reason t’ smile daily ’) The wish made in silence within his mind before he inhales and exhales with a blow, wiping out every flame that dared to stay lit.  ❝   𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐌𝐮𝐥-   ❞  The song..the cake, those were all he really needed and the birthday was already the best one he could ask for.

“You didn’t have to get me anythin’” Well..maybe a few packs of cigarettes would have been a great gifts..but he saw cards..so okay, maybe he spoke too early. These were probably those ‘funny’ birthday cards, as long as it wasn’t anything expensive. But..that thought died the moment he opened the first envelope and saw two tickets to see a wrestling match. The gesture is appreciated he was touched. It wouldn’t kill him to see a few matches with Kuwabara like the old days..who knows, he might actually enjoy himself this time around. “You really didn’t have to Mulan but thank you so much.Let’s see the second one..this one’s got a little more weight t’ it. No, Mulan what’d you do?”

This could have easily been a wristwat- wait no..there wasn’t any indents in the envelope to suggest that. A necklace maybe? That sneaky assassin. “Honestly the tickets were great, the cake was perfect enough,” Yusuke spoke before pulling out..a pair of keys. They weren’t car keys for one. Couldn’t be the keys to her house they weren’t in a relationship..but were these to her place? “What’re these keys for?”

He asked..then gotten the answer. “Boat..a boat boat? Wait a minute, you bought me an actual fishing boat.” And here it is..NOW Yusuke was dumb founded.., mouth left wide open in surprise. He’s always wanted to try fishing out..maybe catch his own Fish of the day for his restaurant…and..he wanted to hug her so bad.. “Screw it I’m goin’ in.” Careful enough that he doesn’t mush the cake he wraps his arms around her and holds her tightly. “Thank you Mulan..I really mean it..” He’s probably never embraced anyone this close..not since-.

he watches her for as long as his nerves can take it. mulan’s adorable, but getting nowhere in her attempt. “—allow me?” hand held out for the tools, he drops down before the lock in her stead. he assesses what they’ve got; rudimentary, a bit rusted, but should get the job done. so long as he is careful. “a lock is like…” he cringes slightly. a lover, is what he almost said. astarion chews his lip, searching his mind for a more mulan-appropriate comparison. “…a girl’s mood, before she has eaten.” makes no damned sense. but he has to go with it now. he inserts the makeshift tension wrench and gets to work. “approach with finesse, sensitivity. patience.” his hands demonstrate these same qualities. a soft click indicates success, seconds later. almost too easy. astarion bounces up, steps back from their newly cracked lock. “but, ah. it’s mostly just practice, really.” he pops a shrug, a touch of sheepishness in his grin. “i will show you how later, if you want. come on, let’s go.”

“Goten, wait up!” She ran over to him waving before turning her bag around to hand him a box of chocolate, “this is for you. Don’t over eat it before supper, I don’t want to get a call from 阿姨 (Āyí - aunt) ChiChi about it.”

━━   ❝   𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧?   ❞  He turned, curiosity guiding him at this point as she hands him a box of what smells like chocolates..probably homemade due to the occasion. “Awww, you didn’t have to, but thanks a lot..heh. Yeah if there’s anything mom doesn’t like is a ruined appetite. I’ll be sure to not go overboard..for BOTH OUR SAKES.” He gives her the brightest smile ever. “I’m guessing you’ve got tons of these to hand out..knowing you, would you like me to fly you around?” If he knew Mulan..then HE KNOWS he isn’t the only one to get a gift and if he wasn’t the last then…there are definitely more to go.

You're a restless person, always moving from one place to another, perpetually occupied with something or other. People call you impatient. Hell, you might even call *yourself* impatient! And that's fine, that's just who you are. But you'll wait for some people. You'd sit down and wait for them if they needed you to, and it's the first time you do, the first time you show them you'll stretch your limited patience to something limitless for them if they need it, it feels almost like a confession. You might not be very patient with the world, but there are exceptions you're more than willing to make. You're so good at making people feel like they're not a burden.

He completely agreed he felt the same way about such events. "Yes." he voiced as he moved to the side to avoid a woman in a tittering tone switching targets to another man when Jiang Cheng did not indulge her in conversation. Black and purple robes flowed around him as he moved, he caught her arm and moved her physically with him. It was the best way to not be bothered. "The key in this situation is to always be on the move." he stated as he gave an unwavering stare to another party goer until they looked away.

"I wouldn't have come here at all, if it weren't for Jin Ling needed the support." he said. "I know you and Sizhui tend to pal around with him, and Sizhui is forever that boy's keeper, if I were to break his legs he wouldn't be about to move so fast, of course he wouldn't be able to use this tactic of avoiding socializing either." he humored though there was little joy or amusement in it.

"The Jin Sect always feels that throwing money at a problem will make it go away. It buys it off for a while, but its still there with the coin runs out." Jiang Cheng turned his nose up at the offer of a dance, and moved her again, this time towards the refreshment table. He knew she would follow he was her Sect Leader after all.

"You spend time with A-Ling." he said "That boy is often a mystery to me. How is he handling things ?" he asked her as he made a show of handing her punch to ward off anyone stupid enough to step up, and it would help him from the flutter, tittering air-heads that thought because he was well appointed and good looking he was a catch.

They'd have better luck with a prickle-pear.
