Xiao stood idly with his arms crossed, eyeing the view below them mutely. The night had been as peaceful — the winds chimed in each breeze, but perhaps that was the doing of the Anemo Archon — without the need for him to vanquish demons of the old.

Beside him was Esther, sitting on the grassy part of the cliff and writing away in her sketchbook that she carried on her person. The poetry event had kick-started her love for the arts, Xiao recognised it well in the way her eyes sparkled, and truly, he need not disturb her in her peace.

Was it a normal occurrence for him to have the time to accompany another being? Logically speaking, no - with his duty on his shoulders and his preference to avoid people, he should be far away from this gala she spoke of. He should be out there, protecting what has been bestowed upon him and continue to serve the nation, like the weapon he claimed to be.

But here he was, watching her fingers weave and string words into a flowery language, like a skilled florist. A language that he was versed in — courtesy of Bonanus, that cheeky yaksha — but not well equipped with. His eyes trail intently when she got stuck in a particular sentence, her lips pursed and bitten, and then her eyes glaring at the paper as if it would bring her the words she needed.

He knew not of the time, but the day drew nearer to a close. The moon rose to its peak slowly.

"You put yourself in trivial matters that would only strain your mind," he began, though not chiding or insulting. He took his seat right next to her, propping an arm up with his knee. "Why focus on a specific sentence when you could create more from a different perspective?"

He earned himself an eye roll from her, but it was all out of lighthearted jest. And, as if she could not hide it for any longer than a second, a smile pulled at the corner of her lips.

The moon paled in comparison to her, for she was the sun that provided it light.

"By all means, dear adeptus, if you think yourself learned, won't you craft me a short poem?" She teased, poking the feather tip of her quill towards his exposed shoulder. He all but flinched; he had endured many great things, a simple feather would not bother him in the slightest.

In reply to her playful banter, his stare remained on her person, and so did hers to his eyes. A silent challenge, but nothing malicious.

The moon awaited his response, breath held, inching higher in the sky. His eyes glimmered determinedly when his mind came up with the idea, and like the hidden poet that he is, he pretended to be brave, and uttered lowly.

"I want nothing more,

Sweet dreams cannot compare to

You who consumed me."

... Silence washed over them, and Xiao quickly regretted his actions. Perhaps he truly was not built for these kinds of things, with his talents being so closely related to the art of weapons and wars, and the dances of graceful fights.

That was until a lovely blush settled across her face, and a smile so endearing wobbled on her lips. Esther made a sound similar to that of an amused snort, before turning away bashfully.

Ah, so it was not all for vain.

"Okay, you caught me there. You're definitely not bad at it." She ran a hand through the hair on the side of her head, tucking a thick lock behind her ear. Noticeably, it turned red at the pointy top. Then, she returned her gaze to him. "But I guess that means I've used up what little things I could demand of you for a birthday gift, right?"

Xiao hovered his hand over half of his face when he realised that he, too, was burning up. A smile tugged dangerously on his face. What a foolish feeling.

"No. Feel free to ask anything of me, if it is within my capabilities, I will do it."

Okay so I watched Anime America review of Cell at Work! as it pop up in my recommendation (I just like to see people's reactions and review of the show) and it's very biased honestly like pretty much half of the video is talking about Cancer cell.

They are a few remarks that honestly makes me roll my eyes.

Who asked for this? (The heck? Why not as it's educational and accurate at least plus the main art style isn't too moe as we usually see in this type of anime. Also there’s tons of gjinka anime like that horse,minotaur,animals,monsters,countries,weapons,tanks and ships)

Why is this popular? (Every point she list for the elements on why this show attracted fans is accurate from the bloody action sequence and platelets being cute as heck except when she says about AE-3803 with the small remark of "mostly because of her outfit". Like really seriously -_- ? We watch the show because RBC's outfit and not I don’t know her PERSONALITY.

You shouldn't do when personify these kinds of things with human emotion. (What's wrong giving cancer cells a sympathetic and tragic backstory? This is a story about anthropomorphic cells that are like a real life person. Of course he must have a tragic backstory as other cells have their own backstory so why not him? Plus it's not like people going to be like "Oh man poor cancer cells. From now on we must let our cancer cells live and die for him uwu" after watching the cancer cells arc. People are sympathize the character's tragedy and not the real stuff. In the end his characters needs to die anyway. I mean put in his shoes that you were born as a mistake and needed to be killed because of it. You just want to live like the others. (God this reminds me of my country's social problem that were peaked a few years ago of baby dumping) Simply to say this they weren't ask to be like this. The issue of him looking hot shouldn't really be bother like he's a mutated cell so he retains a bit of his cell part. And people just ship (WBC and CC) them as characters only plus when it's never okay to selfship a problematic character. Yeah they drew it in rule 34 but that's their business and enjoyment. I couldn't care less really.)

At least CC in Osmosis Jones is evil because he wants to destroy the body (I admit that I never watch Osmosis Jones before but it seems to me by her description that he's evil because he is evil. Man that's straight up boring for an antagonist for a series like this. You want CC as an evil generic mustachio villain? I see some of comments suggesting for him to be a infected zombie which I also kinda disagree as if he were a zombie he won’t have characterization much.

I do understand why she’s uncomfortable with CC and hate it with a few people she’s close has it. I too hate CC as my late father past away because of it (pancreatic cancer) and to this day I’m still grieving and regret much not spending time with him as I thought he would be okay after a month or two (I was naive as I never knew or told he got cancer). But I don’t think CC is an insult to people who suffer or lost their loves one by it. For one in my opinion he’s also suffering it too.

Sorry for the lengthy rant and the messy writing. I know she had the right to drop the anime with her own personal reason but to make a review about the show that are heavily biased can affect people not watching it and presumes that those who like the anime is a “CC sympathizer”. This is like saying people who like Hetalia is a “Nazi sympathizer” as the main characters of the show are the Axis Power (I know the Allies are also the main characters) 

Sidenote: I really laugh at this (not the disease of course as it's horrible and not the idea of platelets being killed) as it reminds of that one star wars theory (although I don't really like to see the channel anymore as the creator's constant dissatisfaction of the last movie and seems to me became those "fanboys" in other videos) Crap now I suddenly want a star wars crossover with cells at work despite how bizarre it is. If she wants death so much she should read Cell at Work Black! (It’s more uncomfortable for me to read as I don’t like nudity but I kept reading to see the fate of the cells)

He should've known that returning to Liyue was a bad idea. He should've trusted his guts when Esther turned to him, eyes glittering as she smiled and said, "since this is all over, we should have a small vacation to celebrate."

This was not part of the contract. All there was, was that they were contractually engaged until her attorney-like job was over, and that he had gotten the information that he needed for his case back in Inazuma. Both of which were completed, as mutually agreed.

Shikanoin Heizou was a man, full of wit, charm, and a picture of genius. Even then, he allowed her to grasp his heart and tug it however she wished.

So, arriving in Liyue wasn't a bad thing. The harbor was similar to what he was used to, back in Inazuma City, and the atmosphere was all warm and welcoming. The smell of the food there carried over the air, and he found himself almost starving from the hours they spent on sea.

No, no, arriving in Liyue wasn't the bad thing — it was her eyes.

Identical to the way she had innocently asked him to come to Liyue with her, her eyes shone in recognition. The kind of look when someone fell into a realization, or the face he got when he connected all the dots to a particularly hard case.

In a frantic manner, she was looking, and her eyes darted to every little corner, as if hoping to find at least a strand of hair or a glimpse of a figure, hiding among the buildings or the people. Her feet carried her to the busy streets, where he could barely catch up - and then, he lost sight of her. His stomach dropped.

She knew what her missing piece was.

Heizou knew from the very start, who exactly she was looking for. Who she had forgotten. (Desperately, he wished it would've stayed that way.)

It was her right. Inevitably, finding the one person she had forgotten — the person that completed her, or so she liked to put it, when she described the feeling of who they were supposed to be — was the reason she even came to Fontaine. Actually, it was the only reason he even managed to get paired up with her in the first place, yet it was also the sole variable that began to make him fall hopelessly for her.

He had just begun to enjoy it all, really - the bickering, their wits combined, and the way she trusted him wholeheartedly. He didn't mean to lie, but it was never a lie if he hadn't said he knew anything about the adeptus she loved. If anything.. it was just a secret. It was supposed to stay as one. Now, she was off to find the Conqueror of Demons, the one who truly caught her heart.

It was all by accident, the falling, but Shikanoin Heizou made no mistake. Cannot afford to make any, if he wished to keep her close.

She didn't belong to him, he knew that very well, but he still felt unwell, hiding it behind a strained smile as he paused in his search. It wasn't hard to guess that she might as well be far from Liyue already, with those massive wings she hid. A little bird like her was never supposed to stay in one place, after all, when its destined place is the sky.

Or, well, him. That adeptus. That was who she was fated to be with, even after all they went through in the Land of Hydro.

...

Ah, whatever. He'll celebrate on his own, until she comes to find him later.

Somewhere, in Wangshu Inn.

Some people reported having seen an angel descending from the heavens, landing headfirst onto a mysterious person on the highest perch of the inn. They claimed it was an angel, for the gigantic wings were unmistakable, and the moonlight only served to frame the creature.

None of them could really make out what happened, because it was nearing midnight and it could've just been a trick of light, or perhaps something they shouldn't have seen, in fear that it was some kind of folklore they shouldn't be messing with.

But if one listens closely, they might just hear a hushed voice or two. If one peeks at the balcony, witnessing the adeptus that guards the marsh in a vulnerable state, with another being just like himself - immortals who can barely take being so far from each other.
