Hi I’d love to read your Apriltello story on ao3 but…. I can’t figure out how to switch the language to English…. Is there a way to do that on ao3? If so would you be kind enough to tell me/ show me how?😁

Thank you very much for your question! It IS really important to me to understand the problem the foreign readers have while reading the Kidnapped.

As much as I know, there is no such an option at AO3 as switching languages. I'd recommend you to install google translator (or any other translator as you like) as the as the browser extension.

The algorithm may differ to browser to browser so I recommend to read some instruction in your very case.

With translator you can easily read the story, even tho there can be some strange parts for understanding - don't you worry! It's probably pans or specificity of Russian language.

I will be really happy if my post is helpful. If you have any difficulties with text or its understanding - feel free to ask I answer you right away! Still it's sad I cannot translate the story by myself (it would be the greatest way possible), but I can actually made a few posts with some explanation of hard in understanding areas.

You see, I knew it was nonsense. But I was wondering where the fact that April and the turtles are siblings came from. Now I know. And I was convinced of the stupidity of some people (sorry for the rudeness). Because this is pure misinformation. But people wrote about it so, bitch, confidently, as if it was official and canon. Seriously, there were those who argued this with the phrase Karai, addressed to April:"You've always been one of us." People took this phrase head-on and too literally. Spiritual, mental connection? No, haven't you heard? Oh, oh! Some are even cooler. They wrote, like, "Well, April SEES turtles as brothers, which means shippering April and Donny is incest." No, that's not how incest works. And the turtles didn't call April "sister," and she didn't call the turtles "brothers." In short, in order not to consider turtles as siblings (there really are such people) or to consider April as a sister of turtles, this series should be watched with an ass and listened to with a navel, sorry. Okay, for example, Big Mama's assistant flashed in the show 2-3 times, approximately. And how could you guess that it was a lost brother or sister of turtles? (most likely a sister). Right. No way. Therefore, the creators of the show announced this on Twitter, it seems. And this is the canon. And about the fact that April and the turtles are relatives - this is not canon. This was not in the series and the creators did not officially declare anything, people misunderstood🤦Do you understand that those people who do not know are misinformed? In short, I can talk about this topic for a long time, but I don't want to. Oh, these wonderful oddities of the "Rise of the TMNT" fandom. I have already said a lot in this and in the last post.

Этого не было в сериале и создатели ничего официально не заявляли, люди не так поняли🤦‍♀️Понимаете, что не знающих людей дезинформируют? Короче, на эту тему я могу говорить долго, но не хочу. Ох, уж эти прекрасные странности фандома "Rise of the TMNT". Я и так много сказала и в этом и в прошлом посте.

There's this one scene in "Snow Day" that has me laughing everytime.

When April said "NO MERCY!"...

Donnie was READY to do ALL the violence!

These two are truly UNHINGED when working together.

Great detail btw! Even tho i wrote about this in my analysis, i overlooked that.

But still -

These few parts of this one scene from the movie had me rolling. Especially when I thought more about Donnie's close bonds with both Mikey and April.

When Donnie's knocked out (by his own tech),

April's the first one trying to knock Casey out after Mikey shouts that he's trying to escape! Like "You think you can knock out Donnie and LEAVE?! Not on my watch!"

Mikey then tries to help Donnie wake up, which I thought was precious.

When we see Mikey and April again during the scene, Mikey's getting April ready to smack Casey around like a Piñata!

Side note: I think Mikey would totally ship Donnie and April!

I mean, look at this orange boi he knows everything i swear and he approves it for 90000%

And I'm glad you ask, 'CAUSE! I ain't mentioned this in analysis but if we compare show and film (so we see it's 2year gap here) it's obvious that Donnie grow warmer to Mikey. Yeah, we saw some eps Donnie and Mikey related, and I find they chemistry really radioactive. It's my brotp for sure, I admire those two bogos dynamics.

Don have issues with tactility and emotions in way not only show for other but explaining them and understanding them. It's hilarious how low his emotional intelligence is, it's literally on the level of toothpick. At contrary, we have Mikey who compliments Donnie in such fields.

In film we have even grater concept: Donnie is smoother with Mikey, touch him, hug him protect him. The scene where Donnie while protecting his little brother exposed his vulnerable shell is my favourite at many reasons.

And we have April. She's in a lot ways alike with Mikey: they both are vivid persons, they are optimistic and they are favourites for Don. April is the closest and the best friend for Donnie, their sync, their chemistry is incredible. So Mikey is! But Mikey is a great comparison, really. His attitude, his relationship with April strongly brother-elder sister trop.

Donnie... Is way more complicated. It doesn't feels like she's sister for him to me. Donnie is still developing, growing, he is still in search of himself and ways of portraying his emotions.

For two years Donnie's become more protective and affectionate towards his brothers, especially Mikey - the most affectionate pie in the family. I do strongly believe that Don will develop something too towards April in more casual way to show. And I'm sure Mikey is a great power for that.

At my current work I pay a lot of attention of how Mikey is subtly supportive and helpful Doctor Feelings with his older brother.And I'm fond of this trio, tbh.

This may be just me, but have you noticed that there are certain parallels between Donnie/April and Splinter/Big Mama?

First, how they met when they were noticeably younger (young adults for S&BM & possibly preteens or younger for D&A). As well as NOT being phased by the oddly colored skin when meeting the mutants (I honestly think that April wasn't phased by the Turtles' skin at all).

How one (Splinter and April) can't say no to the other (Big Mama and Donnie).

Watching a movie they like together. You can't tell me Splinter and Big Mama didn't have a favorite Lou Jutsu movie they watched together!

As well as pictures together!

Did you notice how there are only on screen pictures of April and Donnie on her phone, but we HAVEN'T seen her taking selfies with the other Turtles?

Donnie wonders why he's got a preference for cute and mean girls...

HE GETS IT FROM HIS DAD!

It's my time to shine!

First of all - it's not only you. I also have a strong theory that Donnie and April path is pretty alike with Lou and Big Mama but a little well... easier? April is not crimanal boss with all attached consequences.

But we obviously have:

a strong bad-ass woman and self-invested guy trope;

girls with certain shape of glasses;

Donnie in many ways are Lou's son, so its6 easy to see WHY it can work with his preferences toward partner.

Splinter meet BM and he told how many time they spent dancing. Donnie DO love to dance.

(not to mention he's Bootyyyshaker9000, and April knew about that unlike Don's bros)

He's dramatic and really artistic kid, he even has brows like Lou's one.

BM is certainly cute bad mean type considering what she's done to Lou (still srtongly believe it was her way to protect him - she's yokai and criminal boss, Lou cannot be safe with her). As well as I mentioned here that April is cute but mean type for Don.

About taking pictures:

Mikey is not included as i could see. Donnie do like take selfies with himself only and him and April. There's only two chairs we can sit in, guys...

And may I add, not only April and Splinter couldn't resist their partners and say NO to them. Donnie is more eagle to say "Yes" to April ( purple jacket, ep with Albearto became villain, even Mystic Mayhem and Witch town, com'on).

BM also couldn't say no to her ex-lover even tho she helped him and Leo at her own conditions and her way possible, so Donnie does everytime.

They both hepl in a strange way. Little messy, maybe even whole town will burn but they could not resist toward their partners.

And yeah - movies, ahahah

So yeah. I really admire this parallel and

Oh, thank you! Sorry for not replying for all your asks, have a little much on my plate lately. Will answer all of this ASAP.

As I said, i have 2 parts of analysis which I will definitely finish. Dunno what will do after that - the major part of my scetches and fics neither on Russian (it's a lot to translate, tbh) and sometimes it's just R+ rating in it, or connected with my AU, KND. It's still developing and a lot of material is, unfortunately, on Russian. And I am not that great at English as I am at my native language, ahahah.

There's something in the movie that I noticed.

While Splinter and April were looking for ways to destroy the key...

Donnie's stomach was one of the options after they wanted to try (couldn't cause Dee wasn't there) after trying to flush it.

And we all know that Donnie doesn't have the strongest stomach... Especially when it comes to things he finds disgusting.

So that SOMEHOW led to me thinking about about stuff that could've happened after the battle with Shredder.

What if sometime after that battle, April introduces the Splinter and the Turtles (Draxum already met Carol) to her parents?

She actually invites them all over for dinner and Donnie's so confident that they'd like him, but the parents seem to favor his brothers over him.

Cause surprise to absolutely no one, parents aren't big fans of hearing of their daughters hanging out with "Self-Proclaimed Bad Boys".

So you've got Mikey helping with cooking, Raph being the sweetest taste tester, and Leo cracking jokes... Then you've got Donnie who just wants April's parents to like him.

So he tries to help cook, that doesn't work.

He tries cracking jokes with Leo. He tries TOO HARD and that doesn't work.

So finally (and back on topic), he tries to out eat Raphael! Because his stomach isn't as strong as Raph's, he ends up passing out after eating ALOT!

April of course explains to her parents that Donnie isn't actually a jerk and the O'Neil parents get Donnie all better.

Splinter of course took pictures of the whole thing and he was totally the one that offered up Donnie's stomach as a way to destroy the key.

April: Splints, we're not making Donnie eat the key.

Splinter: You're right, we're not... But YOU are! The boy won't say no to you!

April: *crossing Donnie's Stomach off the list*

I wanted to ask you what you thought of this "theory" of mine regarding the Rise of the TMNT movie?

Just so you know, it's quite angsty.

Actually, I do love it a lot. I even have something similar in my will-coming post about Apritello. I had my doubts whether this concept art oficial but now i may use it, thank you!

And i really want to make a little drubble or something, it's really interesting and inspiring. I always wanted to see Donnie to step out of his "being not-pritective" way of behaviour which show introduced to us. But your theory has a lot of connection since we could see that Donnie with age became more protective and less caring about being softshell. His whole interaction with Mikey proves that. It seems with age Donnie slowly unravel the idea he can protect someone too. If he really exchange his life, saving April's it brings me Don-03 vibes from the Dark Future!Episode. And i admire this with all my angst-thirsty heart.
