@advocaado Iâm trying to avoid whacking the proverbial hornetâs nest, but I agree. The fact that Cloud and Tifaâs hangout is locked behind Cloud and Aerithâs date tells me the creators want us to compare the two. And itâs really obvious Cloudâs vibing more with Tifa. Aerithâs looking for an energy Cloud canât match. It feels like sheâs looking for Zack â that fun, forward, flirty vibe that he brings. And her attempts to draw that out of Cloud have the opposite effect. It seems especially obvious at the end when itâs time to head back and Aerith says, âThis is the part where youâre supposed to blurt out, âI donât want to go back! I want to stay here with you!â This dateâs DOA, otherwise.â And Cloud tells her, âOkay, now youâre just being mean.â And she replies, âIâm not trying to be mean, I⌠Sorry.â Aerith absolutely deserves someone who is gonna give her that bold, romantic energy. But Cloud is not that guy lmao and he shouldnât be expected to be either. Heâs not Zack.
#final fantasy#aerith and cloud are really interesting to me but not in a shippy way in a#what a wild situation that says a lot about how people deal with grief kind of way#what an interesting subversion kind of way#i think the parallels between them are interesting#i think the fact that so many of their moments together parallel moments already shared between aerith/zack and cloud/tifa is interesting#i think the differences between cloudâs relationships with aerith and tifa are interesting#the psychology is FASCINATING#but it seems like a lot of ppl donât want to talk about that stuff#and Iâm too old to get into ship wars like idc man idc what you do i have bills to pay

9, 10, 37 and 35 for Vincent.
50 Random Character Asks | Open
9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character Ooooh, man. See, this is conflicting because 50% of my interest in him AT FIRST was because of his VA in Advent Children--Steve Blum had voiced an anime character that I was immensely obsessed with before ever getting into FF7 so that had be invested. Of course, the other 50% would be just his character, the intense, dramatic, mysterious vibes. I was invested right away. So, to be lame and take too long to answer lol, his first scene in FF7-AC. Swooping in like a spooky badass, saving his friend, and just everything.
10. Best moment on screen (or in the book) See, this is an unfair question... There are so many moments, from OG (more specifically lines), from AC, from Rebirth now, from Dirge, even his appearances in the novels, that were either so badass or important for the character or just had me enamored! It's hard to choose one moment...so I will choose three. #3 from the novels, was him offering and promising to meet up with Nanaki once a year for the rest of Nanaki's life, so that Nanaki at least was comforted to know he'd never be alone even as their other friends pass on. So emotional, such a very special moment of support for me, and bittersweet to know that Nanaki will always have one friend until the end of his days, but then, there will be a day when Vincent is the one alone. #2 in Rebirth when Vincent arrived at the sort of Whisper portal/gateway, and aids the others in holding the way open and her urges Cloud to go help Aerith. Something about him making that move to step in, fully engage--yes, he'd been helping since he'd join them, but he has had a level of detatchment, mostly observing and silent except for when his aid has been required. But that moment, to me personally, felt like him choosing to no longer simply follow along for convenience of his own mission but it was him stepping into these connections he was forging, engaging his sympathy and care and concern, and supporting them finally and fully as a friend. #1 is purely inspired by just the visuals, and my own shippy feels but, in AC, when everyone is happy send Cloud to defeat Bahamut SIN, and he is second to last (which to me I almost feel like the positions could symbolize the depth of impact and/or connections with Tifa being the greatest connection, Aerith the greatest impact, but Vincent is right there beneath the two of them). IDK, I'm just lame, because with the line and how majestically he just through himself, to give his hand and his support, literally looking like he is taking flight to reach Cloud and just the soft but supportive, "Fly!" I...I am a mess.
35. Their idea of a perfect day I don't really see him having a concrete concept of a perfect day. He doesn't really look for one, to be honest. Most tolerable, or perhaps productive in feeling, sure. I suppose it would be more about feeling satisfied/fulfilled by what he got out of a day? And stemming from that, I think working to tend to anything WRO might need of him, or aiding a friend in need, taking some time for as little overwhelming a social visit with friends as possible, and perhaps exploring further tests of freedom for his headmates and working to understand them would be his most satisfying day.
37. What they really think about themselves Mmm, rough question lol. And it sort of depends on the timeline. For my Vincent especially, at the core of him, through a lot of stages of his life, though not forever, he feels a sense of disappointment in himself that he was never courageous or passionate enough to put all of himself into something worthwhile. What was worthwhile changed with age and influence--sometimes it was fulfilling the expectation of family, the expectations of superiors and peers, and rarely was it ever finding his own wants and desires and fulfilling them. Too often did he fear disappointing others by putting his efforts and his desires into the wrong place, he most often held himself back and place efforts into what he could surmise would bring him the most balanced amount of approval and benefits. A few times when he would act on personal desires, he only perceived consequences, and it simply taught him that his desires and instincts were wrong and needed changing still. He has long perceived himself as a man lacking conviction, a man capable of amazing things seemingly doomed to fail to do what was most necessary when it is most needed and he would continue to slowly try to over come that habit (eventually, recognizing it was his perception that was wrong, not him). After his death and the experiments that brought him back, he certainly felt like he was cursed in every way possible--cursed upon himself, stuck in a hellish cycle of monsters and harm, and a curse to others. Something to tolerate, something he had to force to be honed into being safe and useful and beyond that, he should keep his distance. Over time, he would come to accept he is a monster, but not in the way he once perceived and wore with shame. He is a man out of time, a man alone in many ways, a man with baggage to carry, but he man working to finally collect himself into who he should be, solely by his own desires and merit and comfort, no longer dependent on the views and expectations of others. Once all he felt was a failure, then a monster. Now, he can see, he's just a man. In all the ways that matter, even with all the abnormalities, he is just Vincent Valentine.

My Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Review
People I have to be honest with you. I am so tired of this game. Tired of the new Final Fantasy 7 games. Of the fandom. Of the shipping war, of the fact that the only thing that I truly care about in this game, which is the ship I like, has been ruined for me by now and all that Kingdom-Hearts-Like bullshit with Sidegames and different timelines and all that stuff. So my Review is really just a lazy "I hate this game and its fandom and its characters and now even my shippiness is ruined" - kind of review. Not in Interview Style. Just random thoughts that are all over the place, like the ending of this freaking game.
Overall, I can say Gameplay-Vise and Pacing-Vise this game was definitively better than Remake. Tho this pacing has been almost ruined by the immense amount of bullshit Minigames that weren't exactly placed in the game in a well balanced way. Storywise tho, I have to say that Remake was more intriguing and more interesting. With this game, it felt to me like the only "Plot-Relevant" reason to play it, the only thing people really cared about were Aeriths death, Zack and Shippings. Which should not be the only good or interesting reason to play a 120 hours game. But the game had not much else interesting to offer - at least not for me - while I found that Remakes story, despite the fact that I hated the game as whole, was much more interesting and motivating than this one. It was basically 12 chapters of watching Clouds sanity falling apart while NO ONE does anything against it. Boring shit, I tell you. I guess the most interesting thing was Baretts Past. Even tho that story had some holes and wasn't something I was actively waiting for. But it was the most intriguing part of the story, besides waiting for the bullshit answer of why Zack and Biggs are still freaking alive.
I did think the balance between Plot, exploring and and Dungeons was really well done tho. And I also found the way the game was made was really intended to fit for all kind of players. Completionists had LOTS of stuff to do. People who loved the possibility of exploring a relatively open world also had lots to do and lots to look at and to fight and found and find out - tho I do agree with some people that they could have made it feel more natural BUT in the end, fulfilling Chadleys "missions" still ended up having a satisfying conclusion - or so I've heard since I only rush through the main story and the most necessary Sidemissions to get through the game as fast as possible - and not just because it sucks, but also because that is just the way I like to play. (Especially when I play a game for the very first time.) Once again the Minigames and how they were placed in the game kind of ruined this Balance. Like... A LOT. My two friends who completed the game like 100% and do usually like to do Minigames said that even they found that at some point it was really too much and almost getting ridiculous. For me personally, who HATES Minigames, this was a freaking nightmare and a big reason for A LOT of Anger and frustration. So theoretically, if it weren't for the Minimissions, this was a well-balanced game with a good pacing.
The Team of characters is a wild mix which usually isn't a bad thing. But somehow I just can't see them being a good and caring Team at all. Some random people who work together for more or less a common goal. But they do not really feel like a family or anything most of the time. If Aerith felt like, she should tell a lie about how Sephiroth got the black Materia from Cloud, because otherwise they might turn their backs on him instead of realizing that he actually needs help, then that says a lot about the team. Not that I have much good to say about the team, even without the whole Clouds-Sanity-Problem. It just didn't feel like a good team to me at all. Like I didn't feel good between them, if you get my drift. For me a good team is one, were I as a Player feel good among. Its hard to describe the feeling that I am missing with that bunch but I can certainly say that this feeling IS missing. Tho I guess you have to see that they do not know each other for so long and that their reasons and motives differ. The characters in itself weren't bad. Its not like I truly dislike any of them. In fact, I care enough to be angry at them for being stupid or assholes. And I have to say, Barett, who I disliked the most in the first game, has become one of the most sympathetic characters to me in the game. That really surprised me. But I feel like its because while the first game mostly showed him as a terrorists who spits bullshit as excuse for killing people or their jobs or taking their lights or anything, this time you can see a lot more of the softer, human and caring side of this man. He is probably not my favorite but... honestly? At this point, no one is!
Grafik was amazing as usual. The 4K scenes looked like they were right out of a movie. Absolut eye-candy. And I can not help but say that it looked A LOT better than Final Fantasy 16 did. The Soundtrack, as usual, was also amazing. Songs were also all well placed and no song was overused. They outdid themselves with this amazing Title-Song too. I can not stress enough how much more impact a song has on a game and you as a player if a song is "made and sung" by a character from the game about something the the players understand. That is why "Eyes on me" and "1000 Words" were such amazing songs. Because you could feel them and you could somewhat relate to the people singing it because you knew their situation and feelings. So like 100 out of 10 points for no Promises to keep. Battlesystem was doable. Nothing to argue about there. But as long as it is doable even for someone like me, I do not put it high on my priority list. Tho I think I should mention it. I did like the new Synergy-Attacks, tho. Nice idea. )Barett and Aerith looked "like a boss", if you get me XD)
Aside from the horror amount of non-optional minigames left, right and center, there were like 2 or 3 other things that really bothered me. First it was the explanation for how Biggs and Zack survived and that was basically a "it was a miracle" - thing that Zack believes was Aeriths doing. Its basically a "A Wizard did it" - kind of explanation. Like... Aerith create a new timeline by cheating or what? Biggs just magically appeared in the Orphanage? WTF?! How is that even a way to create a new timeline? I thought changes and choices would do that? What if the guy who shot the final bullet at Zack got a weapon-malfunction and the thing exploded and knocked out some of the soldiers and then Zack managed to beat the rest and that is how he was saved? It is at least an explanation! And what if Wedge instead of going for his cats, went to save Biggs first, but then gave him to some random guy from sector 7 and only then went for his cats? SOMETHING. ANYTHING that would make freaking sense instead of being a magical deus ex machina. Not to mention that Biggs purpose is absolutely unclear to begin with. Right to the point were he just got shot to death in one of the timelines. Like... why did Aerith save him if his purpose was to never find his purpose and after he though he found it, he just got shot like some random NPC that only survived to make Zack look for his purpose, which is something that actually any random NPC could have done, in fact. The next thing that bothered me is how no one, not even Tifa and Aerith who care so much about Cloud didn't say or do anything about Cloud slowly but surely losing it. He almost killed Tifa, but just because she suddenly remembered him saving her when she was a child, he was suddenly a hero and everything was great. And then she promised him to save him only to let him go on and on and on while his sanity and self-control was obviously fading more and more. When he says he is not like Sephiroth Tifa says that "They know." and "Its okay." But NOTHING is okay and they also do not really KNOW anything, because instead of facing that Cloud has a problem that they need to find a solution for, they just let him almost kill them all and become Sephirots puppet that throws Tifa away and chases Aerith down like a maniac. And Aerith herself isn't any better than Tifa. The harder this problem became, the more she let Tifa handle it until Tifas methods didn't work anymore either. And at the end, she decided into fooling Cloud to believing she is still alive even tho in the end the realization what really happened will crush him even more on top of everything else. These are the two girls that are supposed to care about him the most and they just allow him to first go insane and then keep him in the most instable state he ever was in, instead of allowing him to finally crush so they can work on helping him to get better and get his self-control back. The third thing, is that sometimes the characters didn't feel like themselves. Like... they did things that I would have not thought they would do or say or that made their relationships with each other look bad, even tho it shouldn't be that way. Like Aerith in Kalm. When she was holding on to Cloud after saying they were "kind of" on a date and she kept doing that even tho both he and Tifa felt obviously uncomfortable about it. Yes, she is a tease, but this was going on for just too long and felt absolutely stupid AFTER she told Cloud to fix things with Tifa. Not to mention that the two girls are obviously friends who do not which to argue about Cloud. That just didn't feel like something she would do to this extent. For a few seconds as a tease? Sure! But even holding on after Cloud was trying to push her off? No! (We could also talk about how it was not right of the Devs to position Aerith and Cloud on that stupid Watertower that was supposed to be Cloud and Tifas spot. It was respectless regarding both ships, if you ask me.)
The ending was absolutely stupid! Aeriths death scene was ruined by the confusing jumping between "dead" "saved" "dead" "saved" "dead?" "saved?" "not dead?" "not saved?" - scenes. Even with Cloud crying there was no emotional impact here because as the player the confusion won over the sadness. Getting this stupid "Cloud thinks Aerith is still alive" - kind of goodbye instead of the actual water-burial scene was also so damn frustrating. Neither he nor we managed to get a satisfying kind of "closure" - moment thanks to all that timeline bullshit. I also do not like that the whole theme of that Remake-Bullshit-Idea was to "defy fate" and yet in one of the timelines, Aerith died exactly the same way she did before, despite the fact that Sephiroth might actually sabotage himself by killing her. So why exactly did we play this game? Why did we go though all the changes just to end up the same way as before + all that timeline bullshit? I am not one of those "Remake the game 1:1" - kind of people but I agree with them at this one point. At least kill the girl of a bit later and in a different way instead of repeating the one thing that REALLY would be an impactful change.
I need to talk about shipping here, but I really don't want to. The Clerith-Game was so darn strong in Remake, just to be ruined in Rebirth for whatever stupid reason. I mean, why did I get a date in which Aerith said she loved Cloud for Cloud and not for the parts that remind her of Zack just to end up with a date that basically mirrors her date with Zack, but went totally wrong in the end? How can we go from Cloud almost kissing Tifa in a canon scene to this heartbreaking moment of Cloud cradling Aerith in his Arms when he "thought" she was dead and then "woke her up" again? WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT? Why do we get Marlene telling Zack that Aerith has feeling for Cloud, just for Zack to go find help for Cloud with Aeriths Hairband wrapped around his hand like a lucky charm? And why does someone write the Lyrics of "No Promises to keep" in that way just to say it is not a lovesong? What is wrong with the people in this franchise? I am so sick of this.
This game is NOT a Masterpiece that deserves 10 out of 10 points. Its a walking boring disappointment, full of stupid minigames, timeline bullshit and a Dating-mechanic that doesn't even allow completionists to choose which person they want to go on a date with and on top of all that they do NOT defy fate and yet still managed to ruin THE most iconic freaking scene of any Final Fantasy game! This can only come from a company censoring Tifas big boobs in the first just to showcase them as a selling point in one of their second game. What the hell is wrong with you SE?! And how can you allow the freak that ruined Kingdom Hearts and caused you so much trouble with what should NOT have been Final Fantasy 15 take over such an important project? I can not get all those people loving this game. It sucks! In a totally different way than the first game, but it still freaking sucks!
I give it barely 7 out of 10 points. Its Sin-Counter would be like 300 or so tho, if I would have put it through Game-Sins, just saying.
URG! I really should not play the next installment. Reunion is going to make my crack my PlayStation in anger and frustration. And for what? For people to ruin me 3 shipping-scenes and more timeline bullshit?
I think I am also so disappointed because Remake was that game that had the potential but ruined it and when the second game came out and got those amazing reviews I though, I hoped and I wished for the fact that I would enjoy playing it but I did not. There were barely any moments where I even wanted to open the game for any other reason then finishing it as fast as possible to get rid of it. I just... can not bring myself to love Final Fantasy games anymore. Maybe the Trails-Series has ruined me for other games or maybe everyone else's taste in games has developed with the games over the years and I am still stuck with how thing were with Final Fantasy X. I don't know! But I can not tell you how frustrating it is to - now for the freaking second time - hate a game and do not find it that great why everyone else is all so amazed by it.
And then forcing myself through this freaking toxic fandom and its stupid shipping war.
Just for your information: THERE IS NO CANON SHIP IN THIS GAME! LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT!
And now I need to get the fuck away from the franchise.
#monas game reviews#mona plays ff7r#spoilers#spoiler#I am in a really bad mood today#might have slightly influenced the review to be even worse than usual#but I am so sick of forcing myself though this stupid game for one disappointment after the other

i was talking to a friend who is a ffvii fan since '98 about the LTD and and I thought you might be interested. He told me that it was dead in the Remake. And his points were 1. C not being interested in A and how he is with T (the most important tbh). 2. Sector 5 being about Zack (im not sure about that cause i didnt play CC). 3. Jessie. And here he said that everthing shippy between CA, happened with Jessie first so to him didnt feel special (like all the CT scenes that he said are unique). 1/
The playground was about Zack, the high five was sweet but then T and A were doing it all the time and in his word 'if h5 are proof then AT are more valid than CA' 4. Aerith and her resolution. He always laughs when he reads the CA takes and theories cause the ship is dead both CA killed it and Tifa has nothing to do with it. 2/2

Yeah, so I'm not a zerith shipper, I just like Zack and respect canon, so I did all of these without any ship bias for zerith. I could've just ignored all the obvious things in the game that prove Zack is a big part of things but I didn't ignore them because it's stupid to pretend he doesn't exist or have an important role to play.

Aerith spent all of chapter 8 pretending Cloud was Zack, and didn't like it when he got sarcastic and rude about it because her Zack isn't like that, but Cloud didn't care and just wanted to go home.
LTD destruction
Your friend is right about the scenes. This link is hilarious with how many parallels there are between Aerith and Jessie, and some with Wedge, too.
Unique scene isn't anymore.
Cloud canonically ditches Aerith in both OG and Remake.
Cloud ditches Aerith.
The devs made that rooftop scene less unique to Cloud's pov. He already crossed a bunch of rooftops in a more exciting way. He also still canonically ditches Aerith, and he does that several times.
Remake vs OG slide scene.

I mean, if the evidence wasn't there then I couldn't list this much. Aerith in the JP for her resolution basically declares Cloud for him, then rejects him and he says how one sided that was. Because he was basically a prop during that. Same as in the language of flowers. He barely speaks or reacts and we don't get enough shots of him to establish he's participating in the conversation.
In the eng version of the resolution he asks if he gets a say because it's a callback to all the times through the game that Aerith ignored him. It's not him saying he loves her. It's asking if she'll even listen to him. Which she ignores, so that's his answer. And the JP says that heroic line is basically the same as picking up a friend from the airport. The eng gives Cloud the line because he wants to be thought of as a hero, even though he's a total dork.
And he's also in love with Tifa, so that puts paid to anyone else being with him. Not to mention Aerith has foreshadowed her death several times.

From her memories of you, and we know she associates the sky with it having taken away her loved ones. At the same time, it symbolises Zack, so she's conflicted in her feelings. She wants to move forward, but can't because she still loves him. So, she doesn't try and keeps on loving him. And we can see through the game that Aerith is unhappy because she gets teary eyed a lot.

She's hiding her grief behind a smile, while Cloud and Tifa are just doing their own thing separate from Aerith, because their relationship isn't threatened by Aerith being around.
Tifa and Aerith are friends. Cloud isn't interested in Aerith, and wouldn't be because he's all about Tifa at his core and Aerith is Zack's girlfriend. Cloud isn't a pos who'd go after his best friend's girl, and more importantly, Cloud is all about Tifa.
Remake is making things very clear.
Aerith loves Zack, who is currently listed as missing in the ultimania.

Zack obviously loves Aerith.
Cloud is still all about Tifa. His last concern in ch7 was her safety and the conversation between him and real Cloud involved her too. Not to mention everything else he does for her. And that real Cloud hugged her and wanted to before the event.
Tifa shows us she's more outgoing in her feelings to Cloud. She has the two scenes in chapter 7 and 17 that show her developing feelings for him. She won't let him down and doesn't want to lose him.
She can recognise him by the way he sits and they also have a ton of matching dialogue, poses, battle callouts, ability moves and even their limit breaks utilise their similar grace and fighting style. Hell, they even have similar walks.
It really is hilarious when people try and argue Cloud and Tifa have nothing when there's a mountain of in game proof saying otherwise, not to mention the Remake ultimania backs up the claims.

The narrative canon, which means we got alone at last which makes that narrative canon as well. So, this is the choice and Tifa's resolution is the main one we get. But of course they all occur, but in terms of which is more important to Cloud, it's this one.
Because Tifa.

idk if youâve answered this before but what is ur interpretation of clouds line âdo I get a say in all this?â / Aerithâs resolution.
Hey anon.
I can take this line a few ways. Iâll also go over what other people have said and why I donât agree with it.Â
First Iâll do what I donât agree with:Â
That Cloud said that because he already had fallen in love with her and wanted to confess this. Cloud in Remake is Cloud - thereâs no meta, he isnât like Sephiroth and Aerith where he seems to know things he shouldnât - heâs just Cloud. Cloud is Cloud. What he says is not meant to be cryptic or weird. At the point this conversation takes place, Cloud has known her for less than three days. Three. Days. The first day he spent being annoyed half the time, telling her he wanted to go home, telling her he didnât want to stop. He softens up to her when she talks about Zack (âThe first guy I ever loved.â) You can take that as he didnât feel like she was a âthreatâ or âthirstyâ like Jessie was, or you can take that as heâs like okay now I want a chance. I donât take it as I want a chance, because he doesnât seem to pursue her. Especially after Tifa shows back up. Also, since he has one of his attacks when she says Zack, his subconscious may have told him to stop being a dick to her since it was Zackâs girl. So in this case, no, I do not think that line means, âIâve already fallen in love with you and I want to tell you that.â Not even a little bit.Â
I also donât agree that this was simply fan service for CA fans. No, Aerithâs importance is way past whatâs going on with her and Cloud. That resolution is designed as a foreshadowing playground regarding the OG story. She references her demise, Cloudâs persona issues, and even the Highwind Scene that is Cloud and Tifaâs âmomentâ towards the end of the game. So she references a major plot point - her demise. Cloudâs character arc - persona issue. Cloudâs love life - Highwind Scene. The plot, the protagonist, the protagonistâs romance. Not fan service.Â
What are interesting theories that Iâm a Maybe on:
Aerith feels bad about what happened in OG, so is trying to prevent it this time. The reason Iâm iffy on this... Love is a really strong word to use for something that was so subtle that a lot of people never even picked up on it. I personally never saw any romance between Cloud and Aerith. They tried - and that was where it probably was like meh for me. They were trying to force that narrative to get you to be upset about what happens to Aerith. This probably worked for most people. Hence the ship wars... Cloud knew her for a month, while under severe mental distress, and there arenât many forced interactions between them. (If they forced interactions like they are in Remake with Cloud and Tifa, this one would make slightly more sense), but gets shot to hell when the whole âCloud was living in an illusionary world the first half of the game, by the way.â part.
Aerith was being arrogant and assuming that he already had. I think this one is somewhat comical, because to somebody who has no idea how the story of the OG goes or anything else about FFVII, this would come off as her being full of herself. However, as trolly as Aerith can be, I donât really think she meant it that way. I do think she meant it to have an impact. A strong impact. Dropping the L word gives a strong impact.Â
Theories I Like:
The Fourth Wall Break. Aerith is telling us not to fall in love with her as a morbid way of foreshadowing what her fate is. The devs even said, if you played OG, this would pull at your heartstrings because you know whatâs going to happen to her.Â
Cloud was frustrated that she kept speaking for him. A lot of times during Chapter 8, Cloud would tell her no and sheâd just ignore him and do what she wanted. This is a basic response to something like âNo, I want to say what I think.â This one seems basic since it has to do with Aerith, who definitely is the character with the most mystery. So I doubt itâs this, but itâs a basic explanation for Cloud being like wtf to her.Â
He was thinking of Tifa. Now, Iâm not saying this solely because Iâm a Cloti shipper. Iâve seen some very convincing posts on this. I did go back and watch the scene again myself to verify what was going on and Cloud does look at the house a lot during that Resolution. Especially after she makes the love comment. So he, in his mind, already had an answer. All three resolutions are canon. Tifaâs takes place in the middle of Barret and Aerithâs. Cloud had already had his embrace with Tifa at this point.Â
My favorite one: Of course that Cloud is thinking of Tifa.
The One I Lean Towards as Being Most Likely: Fourth Wall Break... itâs the least shippy of all the options. Aerith is the most mystical of all of the characters, sheâd be able to do a successful Fourth Wall Break without ruining the story.Â
Now, in Japanese, he says something along the lines of, âThatâs awful one-sidedâ Not a direct translation, but he was pretty much saying that was a one-sided statement. you could take this the same way you could take âDo I get a say in this?â Itâs a little harsher in Japanese, in my opinion. Heâs calling her out on her shit for being one sided. In English itâs a bit of a softer blow where he replies with a question.Â

Any details that vary in these adaptations (e.g. how Sephiroth âdiedâ exactly can be discussed :) )
MAIN MUSE: Zack Fair - meaning heâll be around more than Sephiroth, but Iâm always happy to have threads with Seph as well!
   02. Iâm OVER 25 years of age and therefore have a rule of not roleplaying with anyone under the age of 18, regardless of the thread content. I often write MATURE THEMES (involving war, death, smut, insanity, etc) and therefore abstain from writing this with someone significantly younger than I am.Â
   03. I am NOT INTERESTED IN TUMBLR DRAMA. I donât tolerate hate of any kind, including ship and character hate, and I donât participate or support callout culture. Itâs more harmful than helpful. If you are overly invested in tumblr drama, anon hate and callouts, this is not the right blog for you. I am responsible for the content I seek out on the internet and so are you. I state pretty clearly what themes you might encounter on my blog. If you stumble upon something you dislike, please SIMPLY UNFOLLOW  me.
          INTERACTIONS       .
   04. I am SELECTIVE and semi-private for the simple reason that I am a SLOW ROLEPLAYER and I cannot keep up with a high number of followers and threads. I will not follow everyone back, and I will only write threads with those I follow. PLEASE RESPECT THAT and donât ask me for threads when I am not following you, unless you have a sound reason for believing I accidentally unfollowed or something. Itâs really uncomfortable to turn down rp requests but I simply canât handle too many threads at once. After 14+ years of roleplaying I also have a pretty good idea of what I look for in a partner. I look at any blog that follows me to see if weâre a possible match and when I follow you it means that I am interested in writing with you.
   05. MEMES are a true passion of mine and fair game for anyone. Even NON-MUTUALS can send me ic or ooc memes at any time. Even if I posted them 6 months ago. It might take me a while to respond but I usually try to answer all of them. My only rule is please DONâT SEND ANYTHING SEXUAL UNLESS our characters have some kind of romantic history already written out together. This does not include flirting, obviously you are allowed to flirt!
   06. I love SHIPPING and writing shippy threads. I have plenty of ships for my muses and I am usually open to the ships other rpers suggest to me. I wonât jump into a ship right off the bat, but I am fine with starting a thread with the intention of making it shippy at some point. Please DONâT ASSUME ANY SHIP AS DEFAULT on this blog unless weâve discussed it specifically - this includes canon ships like Zack / Aerith! All my threads are in their own verses, so unless stated otherwise, no ships are interfering with each other. If youâd like to ship with me, donât be afraid to ask, the worst thing that can happen is me saying no (or maybe the worst thing is me saying yes..?). I donât ship shame and I expect you to return the favor. That being said, Iâm very weak for CLOUD STRIFE and so are both my boys (in their own healthy or not-so healthy way.) I hope itâs not necessary to point out that shipping with Sephiroth is going to be a mess and only advisable if youâre at least to some extent into exploring the psychological depths of the human mind.
   07. I am open to CROSSOVERS with other fandoms, but I might turn it down if I donât know the fandom at all, or if I find them too incompatible. For the time being, I am mostly focusing on canon-based verses.
                   OTHERS        .
   08. This is where Iâll put my mains, should I acquire any. I will NOT BE EXCLUSIVE with any Final Fantasy muses, because Iâm really bad at this. I might consider exclusivity with muses from other fandoms.
 MAIN .   /    MAIN  .
If you WANT TO BE MY MAIN <insert character> we need to have been writing together for a while. Being my main simply means that youâre the first person Iâll go to if I have a thread idea for our muses, and that youâre okay with me sending you memes whenever I feel like it (and obviously that I am okay with the same in return!)
   09. I use minimal FORMATTING, mostly for emphasis. I usually use icons because I like them. That being said, I donât expect anyone to format their posts or use images of any kind. In fact, I find too extreme formatting difficult to read and tend to avoid it. My eyes struggle with double small text, so I will change it to regular small text anyway, should we write together. The only thing I ask of you is that you CUT YOUR POSTS  when you reblog them.
Rules are subject to change. If I do change anything, Iâll make an update post about it!

tagged by @captainmrvels, tyvm!! here's the funny thing tho: i don't watch tv shows anymore :D sometime between 2014 and now, i decided it was no use pretending and completely stopped trying to catch up with the episodes i'd missed so i'm just going to sort of retrofit this questionnaire to make it applicable to me! i hope that's ok â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
Pick 5 shows fandoms, then answer the following questions (donât cheat!)
marvel (oh i just realized the avengers have a cartoon series!)
ff7 (errr movie and oav?)
ace attorney (it has an anime! does that count)
star wars (eh)
his dark materials (hey this one at least has a tv show coming out soon)
1. Who is your favorite character in 2?
it's this guy cloud strife, you may have heard of him from my blog lmao
2. Who is your favorite in 1?
WE ARE LOKI ON MAIN FOR A REASON, BABY
3. Whatâs your favorite episode of 4?
HA this one worked like a charm. ummm probably episode 7 bc that made me feel Things and i loved rewatching it as compared to the others. altho if we bring in every other movie in-between, it's obviously rogue one. BUT i DO have a special place in my heart for episode 1! i've been a star wars fan since i was a kid thanks to my dad but i was obsessed with episode 1, it really pushed all the right buttons for me. like i wouldn't call it a solid movie next to episode 7 but man is it a classic!
4. whatâs your favorite season of 5?
i think i will love every season when they do come out but book-wise, i think you can't beat the level of wonder of northern lights/golden compass, depending on which edition your bookstores sold. my REAL absolute favorite tho has got to be once upon a time in the north bc the leads are basc my two favorite characters lmao
5. Whoâs your favorite couple in 3?
OH MAN mia fey and godot! i'm such a trash for tragic relationships and i think they looked very handsome together!
6. Whoâs your favorite couple in 2?
cloud and aerithâmy home ship since 20 years ago and the reason, i think, a lot of my ships tend to be on the tragic side >.>;; but i just love the tropes they're hitting, you know? and then how their colors and characters complement each other, i think they're a very attractive couple
7. Least favorite episode movie of 1?
movie bc it's easier than the comics lmao. but probably dr strange? icn say it's civil war bc it has spider-man, black panther and ant-man which for me are the only things really worth seeing in there but dr strange doesn't really even have that much of a hook for me to begin with. i wouldn't have gone and seen it if not bc of my team who wanted to see it for our team building excursion lol
8. Favorite episode of 5?
find me anything with lee scoresby in it baby!!!
9. Favorite season installment of 2?
i think i will forever be devoted to the classic polygon game, the one that started it all, y'know? but i'm really excited for the remake and i really enjoyed ff7ac/c! i also have not played the other games in the compilation bc money and time lmao (says the woman who just spent 12 hours on the game yesterday like some high schooler >.>;;; i just got aerith's great gospel and i already miss her ;_;)
10. How long have you watched 1?
i have been a clown since 2012
11. How did you become interested in 3?
we got a ds lite!! and then everyone kept raving about the phoenix wright game so my sister got it for us and then one day, i just decided to watch and help her play the third case and now, it's part of how we bond. we've always solved cases together ever since, they're much easier and less creepier that way
12. Favorite actor in 4?
oh wow, another lucky hit! ummm ewan mcgregor? i was a huge fan of his obi-wan kenobi like, icn remember calling other characters my favorite after his obi-wan anymore. so i'm really excited he's going to reprise the role, finally!!
13. Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?
oh god, probably 2?? bc between the three of them, ff7 has had the biggest influence in my life. like seriously, the reason i'm in my job rn is bc of itâi went to college to take up computer science bc i wanted to make games like ff7 lmao but that didn't work out bc calculus is the worst. STILL it pushed me to the right direction of being in stem!
14. Which have you seen more episodes new releases of, 1 or 3?
i'm gonna have to say 1 for the obvious reason that they've released more movies than 3 has released games bc they're the products of an entertainment tycoon, you know? while with 3, there's still a part of it that still feels like a passion project and i haven't seen the anime yet lmao.
15. If you could be anyone from 4 who would you be?
i'd be a rebel. when i was a kid, i wanted to be a jedi, tho, lol
16. Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?
ACE ATTORNEY IN SPACE. SPACE ATTORNEY AHAHAHAHAHA. i mean WHY NOT, you've got coruscant, you've got imperial sympathizers sowing discontent to lead to the first order (i think), you've got other separatists while we're at it, smuggling, bounty hunting, the fall of the jedi order. especially after rotj, i can imagine how active the courtrooms were with the war criminals and the petty ones taking advantage of the shift of government. the feys are obviously of the force, the von karmas could be a family linked to sympathizers, maybe nick is even attuned to the force which is why mia singled him out! it's easy to work out the whole thing â¤ď¸
17. Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely ok couple.
but marvel is already doing that job for me lmao. ummmm jane and roz solomon? but it's not unlikely bc they ARE friends and roz was the first person jane confided to about being thor. really icn think of anything off the top of my head, i'm not a shippy kind of person unless the canon lays it out before me and i get convinced. which, in itself, is rare.
18. Overall which show franchise has a better storyline, 1 or 3?
3, hands down. i'd much rather miss more movies of 1 than new releases of 3. it's in the quality of the storytelling, y'know? which isn't to say i loved all games lol i mean honestly, if you ask me? i'd tell you apollo justice is a huge au.
19. Which has better theme music, 2 or 4?
OH THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION. you're asking me who did it better, john williams or nobuo uematsu??? damn, they're both solid composers with amazingly timeless pieces but from my biased point of view, you can't beat nobuo uematsu. his work on final fantasy as compared to williams' work on star wars is more varied and he freaking makes MIDI sound like an orchestra!! and, he was the fucking soundtrack of my childhood. i was SO lucky to have been raised in a generation where he still did the music to all final fantasy games.
tagging: OH NO I DON'T KNOW WHO TO TAG DDDD: ummm @summoneryuna watches lots of shows, right??? @egregiousderp but with anime?? @safarikalamari just bc???? lmao idfk

Ship Meme! Tagged by @the-cryptographerâ ~
1) Ultimate Otps:
Which of them have âultimateâ qualities...? GS Isaac/Alex would be kind of an âultimate powerâ ship, if they got a plot with twists and turns and character development and reasons to cooperate. Iâd expect that more from fic than canon - so many other canons have lots of epic slow burn adventure fics for hero/villain-or-antivillain ships. But so far in GS, for those two, Iâve mostly found (good) crackfic, or non-shippy âthey fight to the death and Isaac wins and marries Miaâ stuff that doesnât treat them with even as much nuance as the canon.
Not that I mind mudshipping - my ultimate GS polyship would be something like Isaac/Mia/Felix/Alex(/Veriti/The Ice Queen), with interesting dynamics between every two characters in that set of four (and Mia/Veriti), even with some of the bonds possibly being platonic. Though when Iâve written long plotfic itâs very easily gotten platonic/ambivalent/angsty bc it tends so much towards drama, and conflict may drive plots (hence its abundance in plotbunnies), but I find it hard to headcanon characters getting past hurts and grudges very easily; I want to see them make the effort, but it feels like theyâd need a lot of time and personal growth to get there, and I might not even figure how well they do until Iâm almost 100K words in. And in some very angsty verses thereâs no chance. I want to read other peopleâs adventure fic too, with fun ideas that manage heel-face turns or antihero plots in a slightly lighter way...
PMMM Madoka/Homura is another âultimate powerâ ship, if they can get to a point where Godoka and Homucifer can deal with each other as equals again, both with full knowledge of everything thatâs happened and the resolve to truly save themselves, each other, and the rest of the universe. :o
Utena/Anthy is quite an âultimate realityâ ship, when they find their revolution.
2) A ship youâll always đ??
The Harvest Moon fan in me is going âpurple heart? thatâs not a very high level of affection??â ...but taking it as an emoji for âloveâ... without repeating anything above, pokemon Green/Red is always nostalgic (gameverse Ash/Gary, the names get a little confusing as there are localisation differences and I like the old manga and anime too but havenât watched/read anything recent in those canons).
GS Imilshipping, too, in fic verses where they had a close bond. FE Lucia/Ilyana, I wish they had epilogue content after their support, still mean to write out a plotbunny for them sometime. Soren/Ike, of course, and Tibarn/Reyson.
ToS Lloyd/Colette/Sheena/Zelos, again with strong bonds between all of the pairs in that foursome. They did so much to help each other find hope by striving to save and trust each other, creating a new kind of salvation together.
Skies of Arcadia Fina/Aika/Vyse, Vyse/Ramirez, and Ramirez/Galcian. Never found much fanstuff for it, but it caught the imagination.
3) Current obsessions??
Lots of MadoHomu vibes after getting a oneshot written for them. Confident!Madoka makes both of them happy when theyâre not dying; itâs a shame she doesnât get much screentime as her confident and cheerful self, since so much of her time as a magical girl passes offscreen. Even while she was more unsure during the series, she demonstrated her desire to protect her friends, and Homura commented time and time again on her kindness - she loves her for it, and when she discourages it anyway, itâs because sheâs come to believe that itâll be the death of her. If they were truly safe, they could support each other so well - it could be a world away from the desperation that marked the end of Rebellion, when neither of them are at all okay. :s
Also getting quite into darkfic plotbunnies, and I know âdarkshipâ is a term in some cases for character dynamics fulfilling their worst potential, descending into violence and destruction that at least one character Does Not Want, but in the verses of those plotbunnies I guess they still fit the label of antiships better than ships.
4) A ship you never thought youâd like??
Uh, a lot of the stuff on the gs kink meme caught me by surprise, when rarepairs got suggested and the fills or plotbunnies got interesting - Alex/Ivan, Eoleo/Rief, Alex/Amiti (in a BAD IDEA way). And on lj/tumblr, Mia/Sheba was pleasant surprise too. Not that I ever had any preconceptions about disliking ships, they just hadnât occurred to me.
In FF7, I donât think I expected to see compelling Cloud/Seph or Zack/Seph at first, all those years ago, but I quickly found that there are a lot of good AUs and darkfic. Especially when theyâre alongside other good ships like Cloud/Zack, Aerith/Zack, Aerith/Cloud, Aerith/Tifa, Tifa/Cloud etc.
5) A ship you used to like but donât anymore:
Uh idk exactly. I used to read a lot of Buffy fic by ship to find characters whose dynamics were interesting in the show, but iirc I ended up skimming any content that was really âshippyâ to get to the plot and jokes and emotional bonding over real stuff, not random physical attraction, and nowadays I donât think Iâd bother skimming so much stuff just bc I hoped itâd be interesting and wanted to keep giving it a chance.
6) A ship that should be canon??
Well some that are very strongly implied but not explicitly stated feel like âyep thatâs canonâ but could maybe use some more in-universe and author confirmation when not everyone seems to agree - Ike/Soren, Utena/Anthy in some versions of canon, etc.
7) A canon ship you hate???
I like to hate the way darkships go sometimes, but thatâs what makes them an interesting story, going ânooâ about charactersâ bad decisions, though that usually only works if they had better potential that theyâre falling short of, not necessarily in a romantic sense... Canât think of many cases where that happens in canon. Uh I think most explicitly canon relationships are either one option among many routes (and I get tired of support grinding), or Iâm a bit indifferent, or if I dislike how itâs done Iâd still start playing devilâs advocate and wondering how it could have been done differently if I spend any time considering it.
Oh in FE Awakening I kinda hated how Virionâs flirting in the main plot cutscenes was creepy and painted him as a bad joke, but his supports are much better and some of them are great - how do you explain liking his ships when he has such a bad start (and such bad English voice acting)? I also hated the way the player characterâs support options didnât all show up until endgame, so I missed them the first time and had to replay and wait until then to support grind, and then it all got repetitive grinding the same dlc maps so many times over just for such short supports, and the endgame marriage candidates that were most interesting (bc how the hell could the game make that work, with a head of state or a former enemy??) ended up with really rushed and unconvincing relationship development, and the child recruitment maps were hellishly difficult at that point in the endgame, and all in all it got a bit un-fun and not worth the effort. :/
8) A ship you shipped for years??
Most of the above. Also stuff like Saiyuki Sanzo/Goku, GS Alex/Felix or /Saturos, Jenna/Sheba, Karis/Sveta, Pokemon Misty/Erika, FE Florina/Lyndis, and, uh, probably stuff that Iâm forgetting right now.
9) A ship everyone đ but you donât care for?
...Was there anything? Some of the cliche stuff bugs me, but Iâd usually think âwhat about writing the dynamic this way and maybe adding poly?â
10) Favorite rare pair???
Mm what's rare? Any gs Alex!ships at this point...
Edit: I forgot to tag anyone, so. If meme time sounds like fun, @sazandorable, @meganekkomeguca, @droory, or anyone who feels like it?

9 hours and 8 chapters of Final Fantasy 7 Remake are basically behind me and I am... so not impressed at the moment.
Right now I have the feeling that all the people gushing over the game are just people that would love the game even if it would be a piece of trash, simply because its name is Final Fantasy 7.
The story is dragging on and on and on and on... and its not really interesting. There are tons of questions that needs to be answered but is very unlikely we will get most of those answers in this game, since that would not work with SE milking the FF7 Fans until they are totally broke. So why bother caring about those questions right now? There will only be disappointment when most of the answer will be found in the next game or the game after that one.
Can not say I like any of the characters yet.
Clouds coolness took serious damage do to the fact that Tifa has him wrapped around her little finger and because he canât say no to Aerith even tho he is so annoyed. He is a bit too soft for my liking. I mean, we all know the best boys are the cold acting ones with the golden heart, but what makes them so appealing that they try with all might to hide this soft side, only show it when absolutely necessary and THEN at some point finally show it more often and more openly as part of their character-development. Cloud is long past that. Right now the only character-development that he needs to go through is openly talk about his feelings instead of just showing them in action. Wonât very likely - once again - not happen in this game tho.
All in all I feel very negative about this game. Like... thinks that are bad have a much bigger impact on me then they would have in other games and I donât know why. This is by far not the worst game I ever played but its far away from any of the many good games Iâve played so far too. The story is not captivating, the characters not very appealing and the plot just wonât get interesting enough to actually start to be seriously interested in it.
By all means, the graphic is amazing and I say that despite playing on my PC via âRemote playâ which means the graphic isnât even as good as can be. The music is... goodisch... I think, but definitely not bad - the voice acting is done very well and I mean they did try to make the story close to the original so far - as far as I can remember it at least. Its just... the story feels so boring at the moment and like... they dragged it on on purpose.
I said that before I can understand why certain things needed to be done or shown but it felt... wrong how they did it most of the time.
Why had Cloud to sneak into Jessies house and steel the card of her father? Why wasnât Jessie like âHey Mom? Can I see dad? Can I have a moment alone with him?â and just stole the card herself? Would have been much easier then Cloud sneaking in. I get that SE found it important that Cloud saw Jessies father... but I am sure they could have done that a different way. A more interesting and less pointless one.
I also donât fully get were we are going with the shippings here. Jessie inviting Cloud over when she would be alone at home was totally out of line and it would have made Cloud look weird to agree to it... and yet he could. There is a lot of shippy stuff going on between Cloud and Tifa... but it just doesnât feel right at the moment. I also donât fully get why we can chose to accept the flower from Aerith or not, but can not chose if we want to give that flower to Tifa but then can also not chose to just tell Aerith that we gave the flower to our friend? What are they doing with that shipping-war-scenario that everyone has been waiting for?
Anyway... right no... Aerith is kind of my light in the darkness. I do think they kind of overdid it with her clumsiness and the âdamsel in distressâ portrayal but I do love her chemistry with Cloud... its kind of amusing in a way. There hasnât been much fun in this game so far so the little banter between those two on the rooftops was finally a moment to make my mouth curl up into a smile for a little longer. Tho... when we started picking flowers I would have preferred to go back to the rooftops ^^â
Well... the game will be over before long XD

1. This moment after you see everyones (currently not mine, tho...) favorite villain for the first time reminds me totally of Nier:Automata, they way Cloud is barely dragging himself along and with the screen acting like its losing connection or something every now and then. Its weird... ^^â
2. Uh... so he showed up already but...
...you know... I am wondering... had the whole Sephiroth and Cloud thing always been this... shippy? He just said losing his âconnectionâ to Cloud would be worse then death. Like... wow... okay... but keep your pants on ^^â
3. So we are going there... huh?
Well... thankfully I am used to this by now ^^â
4. Its kind of amusing to see Cloud run around with that Flower tucked to his cest XD It takes all the coolness away from him XD
5. Barret told Cloud to do stuff for others for once... but Cloud saved Jessys live two times or so and I donât think that is something he did for the money. But Barret refused to see that, because Cloud refuse to see things from his point of view.
6. I found it interesting an amusing at the same time, that if you take Aeriths flower you give them to Tifa. And while you can chose if you want to take the flower or not, giving it to Tifa is non-optional. But it was really better that way. Could looked ridiculous with it XD
