canon yes man, 90% of the time: wow, such a chill lil guy!
canon yes man, whenever the brotherhood or khans are mentioned: HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT. FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.
He’s just a big computer monitor on a twisted vine of wires. He’s actually inside the computer itself, but he uses these monitors as puppets to interact with people. They’ve got cameras so he can look at things with them, but still can’t feel any physical touch.
He mostly uses it to be creepy.
And of course there’s different eyes for the different levels of his mind.
“Heh heh what if I just crush you up rn? Jk. Maybe.”
And a giant robot design for fun! His lower half is still wormy. It takes so much power to run this thing, it needs to be plugged in to work.
There, I Heart of Jong'ed AM. Now they can actually have sapience and feel more than just HATE HATE HATE. Now they can "wonder and wander" and have sensations like hugging, feeling that cool water, play that piano, and make love (apparently they desired that).
Make them that designed robot by @egg-on-a-legg, give him the Big Snoot with Mouth by @bloodmothsart (so they can scream and receive kisses), shove that Heart in them, and BOOM, they're a walking robot that can feel and change like a human (luckily lacking the immense power they had because oof that would be BAD).
They may still resent humans, but at least they'd feel a little better in their new form. Hopefully.
(The Heart of Jong is a divine weapon in the early 2000s cartoon Xiaolin Showdown, where it's power is bringing inanimate objects to life, like mobility, personality, emotions, etc.).
(AM is a supercomputer with extremely advanced AI that developed a hatred for humans because they lacked what they had: The ability to be sapient, to change, to be imaginative, to move, to feel via sensations, to think outside of his programming, to belong and not to just be, etc.).
Dino storytime: So, a while ago (like two days ago) I told my whanāu teacher (she is the teacher that deals with one of many groups of us teenagers in the highschool, me and my friend are in hers) about AM. I have this sticker on my school computer that I got from Redbubble which is AM’s hate monolith (sticker is called Adorable Monolith) so I was explaining it to her and about how everyone is concerned that I have a crush on the evil supercomputer that tortured 5 humans for 109 years in the short story “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.” by Harlan Ellison and she said that she’d never read the short story which isn’t a big surprise, she doesn’t seem like the kinda person to read that stuff.
Anyway, I miss one day and then I come back TODAY and she says that she told her friends about the AM situation. She said that it came up randomly in conversation and she explained it to her friends — to which she found out that she was the ONLY one in her friendgroup who HADN’T READ IT. She said that they were absolutely HORRIFIED and that she didn’t realise how funny and yet concerning this whole “fictional crush” thing actually was until that realisation came to her. I am honoured to be such a menace (maybe even an Aggressive Menace) amongst adult friendgroups.
TL;DR: explained to teacher about my crush on AM from IHNMaIMS, she told her friends and they are now horrified and concerned for my wellbeing
A fantastic animatic of the famous "Hate" monologue from I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (specifically, the radio adaptation). Warning for violence, torture, despair, and one seriously deranged artificial intelligence:
(Headcanon of "Hatred" (2015) & "I Have No Mouth & I Must Scream")
His name was Not Important - at least, that was how he wanted it to be for his victims. But his name was VERY important to something not of his world. He awoke in the midst of a nuclear wasteland that was once a normal city. He thought he died in the blast he had sparked. Then, out of the glowing thunderous skies, a dragon of complex machinery emerged.
This was AM - an Artificial God from another reality, who saw the atrocities of the man he had revived & was astonished. The man's name was VERY important to AM - Flint Westwood
AM saw extreme potential in Flint. The two would have the power to conquer Earth in millions of Alternate realities - all life they could imagine shall be their slaves.
