Tunda

The Tunda is a myth of the Pacific coastal region of Colombia and Ecuador, and particularly in the Afro-Colombian community of the Chocó department, about a shapeshifting entity, resembling a human woman, that lures people into the forests and keeps them there.

It is described as being capable of changing its shape to appear in the form of a loved one, such as in the likeness of a child's mother, to lure its victims into the forest and feed them with shrimp (camarones peneídos) to keep them docile. This deception is referred to as entundamiento and a person in this state of pacified stupor is called entundado.

Her shapeshifting abilities are said to be imperfect, as this doppelgänger of sorts would always have a wooden leg in the shape of a molinillo, or wooden kitchen utensil used to stir hot drinks such as chocolate or aguapanela. The monster, however, is very cunning when trying to hide this defect from its would-be victims. In other versions, it appears to male loggers or hunters working deep into the jungle as a beautiful woman that tries to lure a man away, so it can reveal its hideous nature and suck his blood and drink it or devour him as a wild animal like bears.

My neighbor kids came over to see if I wanted to build a snowman with them. The snow was too sandy and didn't want to stick together, but we managed to make this mishaped snowbird 🤣 They're really cute kids. I love all my neighbors ❤️ it's been super cold here and after we built it, we were frozen so we went back to our homes. 5 minutes later there's a knock at the door and one of the kids brought me over some hot "Aguapanela Con Limone" to warm me up.

these are very common foods around here, not si traditional but the average Colombian kid grew up eating them and still do to this day

1- the boli, it's kinda like a popsicle? made with frozen natural fruit juice or milk-based drinks (like chocolate milk) inside of thin long ice bags

This ones have a specific spot in my heart bcs i always ate one of them when either of my parents went to pick me up at school when i was very smol

2- aguapanela, a drink made with water, panela(if anyone doesnt know it's a block that result of a process that begins sugar cane) and Lemon, it can be cold to drink it with lunch or any food in general or hot (i'm not exactly a fan of this one lol)

Sometimes the hot one is given to people who have a cold to help getting better

3- pony malta and arepa de huevo, pony malta is a soda made with malt and the arepa de huevo is a arepa with a egg inside, this combination and multiple other variations are true lifesavers when you wake up late and u need to rush so you cant eat ur breakfast at home so you dont get to school late, You just pass by any park n buy it to eat it in the move or the people who sell them are in some cases outside of the schools really early waiting for the students

En Bogotá hay 1000 cosas por hacer. Show de lásers en el planetario, visita nocturna al jardín botánico, desayuno en Paloquemao y almuerzo en la Perseverancia. Recorrido en cicla por Juan Amarillo, caminata por Entrenubes, aguapanela en el chorro de Quevedo.

Y está también la subida a Monserrate, un sendero de 2.3 kms con 1605 escalones en los cuales subes más de 500 metros y que al culminarlo te cae una maldición. Dice la leyenda que las parejas que suben a Monserrate no se casan.

Not really, all of the towels in my house look the same

41. How do you take your coffee?

How do I not take coffee? Coffee is like really important in my home because we usually stop whatever we're doing to sit and chat a bit as a family while drinking a cup.

It depends on my mood and the time of the day. Usually, I take some warm and bitter cup of coffee in the morning, which is like the one we make for everyone at home (whomever wakes up first prepares it), we use the "fancy" coffee for this one, around 10 am we have another coffee this time with sugar, I usually use little unless I'm feeling sad lol.

Around 6pm we have tea time (?) or something like that, and we have coffee sweetened with aguapanela (a product made from hardened sugarcane) or we use the cocoa flavored one. Just something sweet to drink with pastries.

I love spicy food but I am also very weak when trying them. I will make myself cry and keep eating because it's just so delicious but yeah, I have low tolerance for it.

Personalities- They all have a strong sense of sisterhood & they're calm, stoic, & introverted. Coronis (the oldest) is the most loving and maternal with Phaeo being the most sensitive. Cleea is uniquely individual & artistic. Phaesyle is the bookworm intellect while Eudora is an old soul.

As goddesses of the seasonal rains, they all have the standard abilities of a goddess- except shapeshifting. Because their mom is an oceanic nymph, they all inherited the trait to breathe underwater, but they don't form tails. Other shared powers/abilities include hydrokinesis or water manipulation in all its forms- ice, snow, vapor. They can use water for healing & they can also generate rainstorms as well as tidal waves. They also have limited aerokinesis and nephelokinesis (cloud manipulation).

The sisters' main address is in the state of Corfu where they all live in a gorgeous mansion built out of marble & moonstone with their mother Aethra (an oceanic nymph). They also have a property in the Underwater realm built out of pearl & sea stone. The Hyades often spend time in Corinth where they visit their father Atlas (Titan god of strength & endurance). They have also visited Olympius' capital, New Olympus, where they often spend time in the Lunar district. The inside of the main house gives off a starry night vibe (with dark blues, purples, silvers, & gold). There are lots of floor-to-ceiling windows, a skylight, opal and obsidian countertops, velvet & satin furniture, and a grand chandelier dripping with white diamonds & blue sapphires. The sisters and their mom own many pets including hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas, bichon frises, & bernese mountain dogs.

The sisters & their mom have a strong close relationship with the shared grief and trauma they all went through. Their little brother Hyas died several years ago, but sometimes it feels as though it was yesterday. He was an adventurous precocious young kid who was the center of their universe. The sisters (Coronis especially) treated him more like a son than a little brother. They loved spending time with him as a family- doing activities like stargazing, cloud surfing, hunting, surfing, camping, and visiting aquariums. The day where their mother gave him permission to go hunting alone fills them all with regret. Hyas was only 10 when he died, attacked by a lion. It was said that they all (including their mother) continuously wept for an entire year. Now, they all have some comfort with knowing that his soul is in Elysium, probably cloud surfing with his wide toothy grin. The sisters & their mother all wear silver locket bracelets which contain some of his ashes.

It's safe to say that the death of Hyas led to the fracture of their once tight knit family. Their father completely shut down emotionally & metally and their parents eventually divorced. The sisters now check on him from time to time- bringing him food, doing household chores, & making sure that he's going to his appointments with his therapist. Coronis does water healing treatments, mellowing out Atlas' mind fog whenever he has nightmares about Hyas.

They all like their mother's aguapanela (a sugarcane drink). Cleea loves the toasted marshmallow chocolate milkshakes from The Frozen Spoon while Eudora likes the coconut tres leche milkshake. Coronis' go-to drink is a blue sapphire while Phaesyle likes the aqua pearl & Phaeo likes rum punch. They all like the olympian sized blueberry açaí splash from The Roasted Bean.

They have a big breakfast with their mother every morning. Some go-to dishes include strapatsada (scrambled eggs cooked with tomatoes), avocado toast, rizogalo, cayeye, gialetia (corn pancakes topped with powdered sugar, cinnamon, & honey), and changua (egg & milk soup). The sisters also likes their dad's blueberry french toast!

The Hyades are distant with their extended family. They haven't seen their paternal grandparents Clymene (Titaness of fame & renown) and Iapetus (Titan god of mortality, pain, & death) in a long time . They also haven't hung out with their older half sister Calypso in a while, but they're still kept in the loop with her on Fatestagram. They don't hang out with their cousins Aidos (goddess of shame, modesty, humility, & respect), Deucalion (Deuce), Prophasis (goddess of excuses), or Pyrrha. The sisters barely know their uncles Epimetheus (Titan god of afterthought), Menoetius (Titan god of rage, violence, & rash actions), and Prometheus (Titan god of forethought).

Phaesyle helped her dad with the development of his aerospace engineering school. She loved seeing the excitement on his face & hearing the enthusiasm in his voice. For a moment, it was like how he was before his punishment & their brother's passing.

Cleea admires Selene (Titaness of the moon) & even sometimes babysits her youngest kids. She's also a member of Urania's (muse of astronomy) stargazing club.

Eudora once had a crush on Astraeus (Titan god of dusk). She even had dreams of him becoming her stepfather.

The Hyades are head of a festival held in Corfu around the middle of autumn- The Monsoon Festival. It celebrates water itself (specifically the rain) as a blessing from the gods & giving thanks to the rain for the plentiful harvests. The festival includes a massive swim race in the ocean, a boat race, food, live concerts, and fireworks. They also enjoy the Blue Moon festival in the Underwater realm.

Some of their favorite desserts include the blueberry macarons & coconut baklava from Hollyhock's Bakery, cholados colombianos, cocadas blancas, and merengon de fresas.

They're friends with Aetna (goddess of volcanoes), Nephele (goddess of clouds), Aerin (goddess of the ethereal), Eos (Titaness of dawn), Neféloma (goddess of space & dark matter), Brizo (goddess of sailors, mariners, fishermen, & dreams), Nerissa (goddess of jellyfish), The Muses, and Pasithea (goddess of hallucinations & relaxation). They're also cool with Calypso's mother, Coralie. The Hyades admire The Pleiades as well as their mother Pleione (Titaness of sailing & stars), The Ourea (esteemed mountain gods), and Tethys (Titaness of freshwater & clouds)

The sisters like their mom's new boyfriend Evangelos who's a merman. The sisters have weekly dinners with him and their mom. They are huge fans of his imperial lobster tails with spicy seaweed & kale salad.

They're aware that their father is seeing Hesperis (goddess of the evening & sunset). When they try bringing up the topic about their relationship to him, Atlas shuts down, not wanting to talk about it.

The sisters are also in business together- they have a jewelry brand, specializing in minimalist astronomy themed designs called Stella Ferrea. They have also released a make-up palette called Celestial Dust.

As far as the sisters' romantic lives, Eudora has a girlfriend- a nephelai named Zoë. Phaeo has been talking with a cyclops named Elio on Fatestagram for a few weeks. She really likes him. The rest of the sisters aren't dating & Coronis recently ended things with her long term boyfriend Hylas.

Some of their favorite foods include aborrajado (fried banana dumplings filled with cheese & guava), mondongo, chorizo con arepa, mole de queso, & patacones.

In their free time, they all have shared interests like swimming, surfing, deep sea diving, dancing (ballet and merengue), yoga, cloud surfing, & stargazing. The sisters also have separate interests.

Coronis is taking mixology classes taught by the Dionysus (god of wine).

Cleea's into fashion & make-up, so she checks out the classes at the community center in downtown New Olympus that is taught by one of The Graces, Thalia.

Phaesyle loves science (astronomy) and writing, being a huge fan of the science fiction books written by the co-author team of Astrape (goddess of lightning) & Bronte (goddess of thunder). She sometimes writes short stories in her journal and has thought about attending the writing workshop for aspiring writers headed by Philyra (goddess of perfume, paper, & beauty).

Phaeo (aside from jewelry making) has also gotten into tech & blacksmithing. Eudora has gotten into amateur bodybuilding and even runs a fitness vlog on PanopTube.

Request: Hello how are you?. I was looking for tumblrs that write about Encanto and I found yours, I liked your corner and wanted to ask you a question. Could you make headcanons for Pepa and Juliet's pregnancy? I'm making a fanfic based on this, I'll use your information as a base and inspiration for me, I hope it doesn't have any problems.

Hey, how are you? Very nice to see you here 😉. Well, if you like my headcanons, you can use them as reference material to create a plot (feel free for that). Here we go...

Pepa when she was pregnant:

Dolores – She could only eat soft foods. Pepa loved sweets during Dolores' pregnancy, chocolates were her all-time favorite. She had a certain sensitivity to sound in her first pregnancy and had several migraine attacks. During this period, Casita Madrigal adapted to its shape, produced less noise and helped others in this as well. It was a smooth pregnancy, Dolores was a quiet baby, but very exploring.

Camilo – She had the craziest cravings of all, like eating raw corn, eating snow (and she simply made it snow for that) or drinking sea water. One day she wants avocado and the next she gets sick. Flu and morning sickness.

Antonio – Completely accidental, but welcome. Pepa knew she was pregnant, but decided not to tell anyone, however, sixteen-year-old Dolores cornered her trying to find out why her mother suddenly had two heartbeats. When the pregnancy was revealed, Julieta claimed that she already knew, she only noticed Pepa getting (somehow) even more emotional and refusing her food. Her belly didn't grow much, and that worried him. She was sick of the smell of meat and other things that were of animal origin, anyway, during almost all of Antônio's pregnancy the Madrigal Family became vegetarian.

Juliet when she was pregnant:

Isabela – Julieta may have been sick of everything in her pregnancy, except the flowers, her sense of smell was even more acute in her first pregnancy, smells of varied spices while cooking and perfumes were her favorites. She just woke up with different cravings every day and had strong mood swings. A LOT OF AGUAPANELA, MY GOD.

Luisa – Luísa was not an easy child, she moved a lot and kept Julieta from sleeping. For much of her second pregnancy she walked around with deep circles under her eyes, her feet were very swollen as well and her appetite literally tripled after a while. Enchantment almost ran out of supplies trying to satisfy the desires of his dear Juliet 😅. But it was all worth it, Julieta forgot everything when she had her little baby in her arms.

Mirabel – Mirabel was the easiest pregnancy because, apart from her growing belly, Julieta had no side effects. No morning sickness, no trouble sleeping, nothing. Julieta was a little worried about it, but she didn't tell anyone about her worries, only to Agustín.

Un alumno que será un reconocido futbolista famoso por la mayor cantidad de autogoles marcados en su carrera; una alumna que montará una heladería famosa, muy famosa: Heladolores Rico; un alumno psicópata; una alumna ganadora del premio a buena conducta en la cárcel de mujeres durante tres años consecutivos; un alumno que llegará a ser alcalde de un pueblo fantasma; una alumna que emprenderá una nueva cruzada en tierra santa; un alumno que creará una aplicación para encontrar abuelos por horas; una alumna que descubrirá un nuevo color que solo puede ver ella y dos personas más; un alumno que nunca se enamorará en la vida (quien pasará a la historia por ser quien destierre del planeta al vallenato); una alumna que se enamorará de un alumno que nunca se enamorará en la vida; un alumno que beberá aguapanela en el santo grial; una alumna que será el anticristo, y finalmente una profesora de colegio privado para la alta sociedad que le enseñará a preparar galletas en forma de corazón. El humorista profesor. Una imperfecta creación que escucha vallenatos mientras prepara galletas en forma de corazón para su amada Gabriela y sus tres hijos, Johann, Leonardo y Aurora. Johann, por Goethe, muy querido por ambos; Leonardo por el padre de Gabriela, Aurora por la madre de él, la profesora de colegio. Ya decidí el destino de dos de ellos. Pero en este punto, dejo a mi creación, que sus disposiciones y sabiduría lo sepan conducir, que lo arrastren por los tormentosos e intempestivos designios de sus decisiones.
