I designed a book cover version too because I thought it looked neat. As always, headcanons under the cut

These are mostly about the uniform because I'm obsessed with uniforms. I designed it after a navy admiral dress uniform because I like the clean white design with fewer belts. This is however not a dress uniform because of the chain style.

We know the Chiss wear chains instead of medals and this is my version of 'ribbon bars' for them - a more practical way to display awards. The catch here being that ribbon bars still display the individual award which isn't the case here. My inworld explanation is that when you get that many awards in the Chiss military, it doesn't really matter what kind of awards they are lol. It's also meant to resemble an aguillette to a degree.

One side of each chain is attached to a bar clipped to the uniform while the other attaches to another hanging chain hooked to the pauldron. I imagine this ensemble with white trousers worn over the boots in line with that whole navy admiral vibe.

As for hair color, my headcanon is that Chiss don't gray as a rule as humans do. It's something that affects a small part of the population and happens rapidly at an earlier point in their life. It's still considered fairly normal though and even desirable as rare features often are. (ie I really wanted to make Ba'kif the Chiss version of a silver fox so I did.)

|| Totally an ooc post but damn between working hard and not trying to fall asleep on my feet @littlxlamb has been working on my Guren cosplay for next week’s con! With little help but lots of money from me because I’m not very talented with hands stuff wops-

We’ve been trying to make his uniform super detailed as best as we could, I even bought an actual military aguillette to make it all fancy and I had to share it with you all cause it looks hella cool!! I gotta still put some more paint and do the last bits on Mahiru-no-yo and it’s coming so good too!

Nia will be going with me as Mahiru (she doesn’t feel pretty as Shinya which is a shame but hey give me the tragedy love story too) and I can’t wait to go around as the invincible duo!!!

Also Saturday it’s Yuichoro’s birthday and I’m getting hella excited as if it was my own birthday uehcjsddc might have to cook some katsu curry to celebrate it hehe.

Who in the British Army can wear aiguillettes, and with what uniform?

An aiguillette, likewise spelled aguillette, aiglet or aglet (from the French "aiguille", needle), is a rope with metal tips or trim labels, or the ornamental tip itself.

 Mainstream in the sixteenth and mid seventeenth hundreds of years and after that otherwise called "aiglets", "aglets" or "focuses" and in present day use worn by certain individuals from the military of different nations. This utilization of "aiguillette" gets from binding used to affix plate protective layer together.  •Aiguillettes (third Class or Staff) are of gold and dull blue, red or light blue depending whenever worn by Royal Navy, Army or RAF officials. They are worn on the left shoulder by, among others, connects, associates and confidants.

 •Simple aiguillettes are worn by spear corporals of the Household Cavalry and by bandsmen of Dragoon protects and Dragoon regiments in full dress with royal navy cap .

 You will see that Princes William and Harry wear theirs on the right.

HELP NEEDED!

I finally managed to put my greedy hands on the Joker Game settei shiryōshū (Joker Game setting material list) which contains a lot of info (Yes, I’ll try to scan the juiciest one if I’ll manage to... for now content yourself with knowing that Sakuma is confirmed as a member of the infantry, and on his insigna of arms there was written he was in the 1st infantry, Elena and Tazaki share the same height so the height itself couldn’t tip off the SMERSH assassin, there are maps of D Agency! in the settei Amari and Emma’s dad resemble each other A LOT, Kazato might have been Akutsu’s right hand man in the original plans and he was meant to wear aguillettes on his uniform like Muto...).

It’ll be awesome if there’s someone who feels up on translating things... but I get it might be a lot of work so I’ll understand if nobody wants to.

Still, I hope someone will be so kind as to give a try at translating these pages on the Wind Agency as there’s really little known info about it.

I know people don’t really care much about Wind Agency... but I still think it might worth something to know more about it.

So... help, please?

(Oh, if you’re wondering why quality isn’t so great that is because for some reason the book decided to post these settei in a smaller version compared to the others... which is a pity if you ask me but I don’t make the rules... ;_;)
