i think im gonna stay even with the ai thing, but i am keeping my eye out on what staff says.. i feel the fact they decided to just enable all blogs to get their info used for ai or other services is?? incredibly dumb- pretty sure it also happened with devian art too right??

Honestly as someone with an interest in AI and trying to keep up, as someone who used the image generators and got the subscription to midjourney, used stable diffusion, and I sure hope my tensor cores never leave my GPU, this ai stuff sucks.

It's best use case is small personal projects like maybe some character inspo for D&D, or just goofing off, but it really shouldn't be used in public things.

Look at the incredible disrespect of Greg Rutkowski who tried to be open-minded about it, who everyone likes to say "hey look, everyone knows your name now! You should be thanking us". You know what the problem was? Everyone was going to the AI and wasn't commissioning him. He wasn't making a penny off that. His commissions were being stolen by an AI made without his consent to copy his style. This just one example why people want living artists/subjects excluded from training.

But it also makes it really hard for budding artist who need to make money then solely off good will because when you can get whatever you want for free with stable diffusion, why would someone hire their friend who's trying to make a career? It kills sustainability of Freelance art imo and we'll see how it progresses.

Not only that but also because it's AI it takes bias with it from the data set. If you tell it to create a person, you're probably going to end up with a white skinny woman because that's what so much of the data it's trained on is and it's going to go right to that.

It also incentivizes companies to have even worse privacy policies because like devian art, places will use your own works to make you obsolete with their own ai.

Yeah there's advantages to using real artists like being very specific about what you want, but when a barrier of entry is free for an AI, you're crushing economies of Freelance creative expression. Not only that but you can just take their images personally and train the AI to copy that style. Doesn't matter how cool or unique it is, every time that happens, a commission disappears.

I don't like engaging with asset generation ai anymore. Everyone who is all for it is either uninformed and just doesn't know or they're incredibly disrespectful people who get vindictive about being wrong and fold into themselves. So many forums and subreddits are just circle jerks of it.

Annon-Guy: They'd probally be satisfied, it would also be a way to avoid trouble with Goddess Exiva and the Blade Strangers. I know Lina and Devian get really satisfied eating data clones and Blade Strangers. But if they eat too much data, they explode and blue screen the VR World, which happens in their Story Mode. I don't know about virus, just that the worlds would colapse without data and technology. Plus, the Tethe'alla half of Aeslia would be in serious trouble if Lina got there.

Theoretically, then, you could beat Lina and Devian by building an AI that just generates random code for them to eat. So Tethe’alla better build a machine like that really fast. XD
