“horrible. i can’t wait to finally get home,” you let out a deep breath. “my boss loves to make my life a living hell.”

kei nodded as you buckled your seatbelt and he started to pull off. he knew that you loved your job so much, hell he took you to celebrate when you got hired, but the only and horrible downside was your boss constantly doing things to bother you.

“i keep telling you to let me go and talk to him about his behavior. either that or go to hr.” he placed his hand on your thigh, rubbing it softly.

“yea but it’s not like he’s doing anything extreme. just making it hard for me to want to work,” you rubbed your temples. “i wish i was his boss so he’d see how shitty he treats people.”

kei chuckled, “you’d be the best boss.”

“damn right i would,” you scoffed. “i wouldn’t be an ass hole to my employees and i’d actually have some decorum when dealing with customers.”

“well, at least you have some decorum in general. don’t sweat him too much, cause you know i’ll beat some ass.”

“goodbye, kei. you cannot fight to save yourself.”

“i can to.”

“you cannot.”

“whatever,” he rolled his eyes. “when we get home we can continue stranger things to make you feel better, ‘kay?”

“you shouldn’t be here.” you said once your eyes locked on katsuki’s. “it’ll just make you even more upset than you already are.”

“why didn’t you tell me?” was all he could say. his glare bore holes in your eyes yet he wasn’t mad.

you shrugged, “i didn’t tell anyone.” you stared out the window of your hospital room, the beeping of your monitor was unbearable yet you enjoyed the sound. “i didn’t want anyone worrying.”

“you didn’t want anyone worrying?! what the fuck, y/n! you collapsed in this middle of the damn street!”bakugou stomped over to your bed, anger settling in his stomach.

you wanted to cry so badly but your tears ran dry. you were feeling no emotions. nothing. you went numb, “i’m sorry. but it’s over now. i’m gonna die in a few hours.”

“and i go back to my first question, why didn’t you tell me? we could’ve worked something out. hell, we could’ve gotten you some more help if you had TOLD me, y/n.” katsuki looked away, a tear fell down and landed onto your white blanket.

you wanted to look at him so badly, but you couldn’t. you couldn’t look in the eyes of the man who had given you love and everything that you wished for.

“look at me.”

you continued staring out the window.

“y/n, goddamn it, look at me.”

you didn’t move.

“i swear to God! look at me in the face, y/n!” he grabbed your face turning it gently although his words came out louder than he anticipated.

“i don’t care how much longer you have, i’m not going anywhere.” the tears on his face were enough to have you want to shrink and hide away. you had broke him.

“i’m sorry,” you said softly. “but i wanna be alone for these last few hours.”

“please, y/n. don’t do this.” he let your face go and buried his head on your stomach, he sobbed and pleaded with you. “i don’t wanna leave you and not say goodbye.”

“i’m sorry.”

it went quiet. the machine continued to beep. bakugou continued to cry but he wasn’t sobbing anymore. “y/n.. pl-please.”

“it’s just better if you go.” your hand, although weak, reached up to cup his face. “i love you and i’ll miss you.”

as much as he wanted to scream and curse and yell at you to not say you’ll miss him, he didn’t. all he did was simply lean over and kiss your lips one last time, smile at you one last time, and walked out the room.

even after the doctor told him you passed, he stayed seated on the chair next to your hospital bed. kirishima called him and told him that he needed to leave and get some rest. katsuki just told him no and hung up the phone.

then denki called him and told him the same thing. bakugou repeated the same actions as before.

then midoriya called and while bakugou wanted to hang up, he just cried. midoriya let him and told him to tell you goodbye— for good.

“i can’t,” he managed to say through his tears. “she’s not gone, s-she can’t be.”

“i’m sorry, katsuki, i’m sorry.”
