Just a Harmless Memory (Part 3)
Part 1 can be found here
Part 2 can be found here
Hey everyone! Sorry for the wait; I know I left the story on a downer note. Here is the final chapter, and it's basically pure comfort and fluff! Probably needed after that new promo image we got.
***
When she finished the story, Amity laughed awkwardly. “I guess that sounds dramatic, but that’s why I’m kind of weird about that stuff.” Her voice was calm, though her heart pounded and her stomach turned. She hadn’t spoken about that memory, ever, because it was such a small thing and she’d really rather it be erased.
She glanced up at Luz, and dread took over her when she saw the look on her face. A look of incredible anger. No, beyond just anger, rage. She wasn’t used to seeing such an expression on her sweet, tender-hearted girlfriend.
Amity instinctively flinched back.  Really Mittens, I’m tired of all this drama. “Sorry. I-I didn’t mean to be dramatic.”
Luz blinked, her face instantly shifting from rage to familiar gentle concern. “Amity, wait, hey. I’m sorry if I scared you. I’m not mad at you. I’m mad at -“ Luz drew in a deep breath. “Your…parents.” She said the words through gritted teeth.
Amity, swallowed hard. She didn’t know why she was reacting so intensely; usually she was fine, but telling that story was like she was experiencing it all again.
She knew Luz wasn’t mad at her, but what if she yelled out of anger on Amity’s behalf? Amity couldn’t take that right now.  “Please don’t yell. I know it’s not at me but…I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s okay.” Luz soothed her voice into a low, familiar croon. “Can I hold you?”
Amity hesitantly nodded, and Luz pulled her close, cradling her to her chest protectively. Luz’s heartbeat used to sound strange to Amity’s ears; it was so quiet, just two thuds every few moments, rather than the chaotic rhythm of both the beating heart and pumping bile sac of a biological witch.
But Amity loved the quiet steadiness of Luz’s heart, and now the sound was one of the most comforting in the world, next to Luz’s voice.
“That wasn’t your fault,” Luz whispered. “I am so sorry they took that from you.” She gently held Amity’s face in her hands, running her thumbs over Amity’s cheeks. Amity looked down; eye contact was too intense right now, even with her safest person. “You can cry about it, you know.”
It wasn’t that Amity didn’t want to. Held by Luz, she felt safer than she had ever felt to cry. She knew she wouldn’t be judged for it, and she wished she could let it out and just sob. But she didn’t know how. She used to cry so much as a kid, but now it was like all her tear reserves had run dry, or were sealed behind a wall she spent so long maintaining, it wouldn’t break even if she wanted it too. She could tear up, but she couldn’t sob, not like her friends could.
She told Luz as much, and Luz’s face darkened again, before she clearly made an effort to push it back. “Well, whatever you need, I…I’m here for you.”
“I know. Really, though, it’s not much compared to other stuff Odalia did. Those were just toys. I was too attached.”
“No.” Luz pulled Amity in for a hug, nuzzling her. “It was something safe for you. It wasn’t hurting anything. I think that’s sweet you would arrange them at little tea parties.”
“It was kind of weird, looking back. Being that obsessive.”
“I like to do all kinds of weird things! I brought live snakes to school. Which was…not the best idea, now that I look back on it.” Luz sighed. “I did actually harmful things, and my mom would never do something like that. You’re not some…some puppet Odalia gets to control however she wants! You deserve to do what makes you feel safe!  And Alador, he should have protected you! He hurt you too!”
Amity’s ears drooped. “I still don’t understand him. I want to believe he’s changed for good now. He helped us, and it seemed like he really wanted to.”
“Did he apologize yet?”
“No, he didn’t. I…I’m not sure what I want from him. I spent so long wondering what I was doing wrong, what I could do to hold his attention. And now he’s acting nice again, I just want to trust he’ll stay that way. But I can’t. He’s done this so many times. I don’t feel connected to him.”
“Do you even want to be?”
“I don’t know. Not like he wants. Not until I can trust him, and I don’t know if I can. I want him to have changed but…I’m scared. And I can’t help not missing him as much as I should. I miss Ed and Em so much. But Dad, he…I don’t know. I feel awful.”
“He made it that way. You would miss him if he had actually been a good dad to you.”
“Maybe…sometimes I worry I’m being too hard on him. But then I get so angry, at the same time. He…he hurt me so bad. And he lied to me.”
“What he did wasn’t okay. Heck, I get it if you don’t ever want to talk to him again.”
“But I do. I do want to talk to him. Just not…I don’t know. It’s…it’s complicated.” She sniffled, all that she could manage in the moment. “I don’t know what I want.”
“Hey, well you know what? We’re in it together. I’m here for you, just like you’re here for me. You get to decide what you want to do. I’ll support you no matter what.”
Amity fidgeted with her hands, heart fluttering. “Thanks, Luz. You’re so perfect. I…I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
She heard Luz’s breath hitch, in a way that didn’t sound happy or flustered like she would have expected.
“Luz? Are you okay?”
“Yeah. I’m okay. I just…” Luz sighed. “It doesn’t matter. You’re perfect.”
“I used to try so hard to be. And I still want to be. For you.”
“Well you don’t even have to try. The very existence of Amity Blight is perfection. The moment you were born, the world went ‘Aah! A perfect being! All my other creations will be failures compared to this! I reached my full artistic potential, what’s even the point?”
Amity giggled. “That doesn’t even make sense.”
“Well it’s true.”
“Thank you, Luz. That means a lot.”
Luz reached over and brought Sir Roary into Amity’s field of vision. “Dragon attack!” She tickled Amity with the stuffed animal, making dramatic roar noises as Amity laughed and pretended to fight her off.
“Luz! Stop!”
“Not before you admit you’re perfect as you are!”
Okay, as smoothly romantic as her girlfriend could be, she was still a massive dork.
“Fine, I’m perfect.”
“Just by existing!”
“Fine, fine, by existing!”
Luz set Sir Roary down and gave Amity a dramatic kiss. “Never forget it, hermosa.”
---
A few weeks later, Amity stood nervously at the entrance to the carnival. It was a very small one; Luz said it came to Gravesfield every summer, but only for a month. Luz had begged some spare change from her mom and proposed it to Amity as one of their many human realm dates.
It was funny, Amity used to worry that Luz might never be able to take her to the human realm. Now they had done countless things, all that she had written about in her diary and more.
“This is…strange,” said Amity. “A lot like the ones in the Boiling Isles, but…”
“A little bit safer, right?”
A piercing shriek cut the air, and both Luz and Amity flinched.
“Well…” Luz laughed. “At least none of the rides will try to eat you. Though…” She reached out and took Amity’s hand. “You might want to stick by me. Just in case.”
Amity was so used to being cold, she usually forgot about it, but Luz’s hands were so warm that they made her realize what she was missing when they heated Amity’s own. She was grateful Luz’s hands were larger, her own hands could be entirely wrapped in strong, reassuring warmth  whenever they held each other.
She wanted to say some clever, flirty thing back, but she couldn’t think of one, so instead she merely blushed and let Luz pull her into the carnival.
She gasped when she saw a display of fluffy plush toys. There were unicorns that looked significantly less dangerous than the kind in the Boiling Isles, cartoonish cats and snakes and frogs.
“So what do you think?” Luz asked, gesturing theatrically at the assortment.
“They’re so cute!”
“Yep! And today, one of them is for you.”
Amity turned in surprise. “What?”
“I’m going to win one for you.”
Amity inspected the game, a familiar one to her, except you threw darts at balloons on a board rather than the cyst-lined back of a Quawkabear. The human realm was in general a lot more sanitary than the Boiling Isles.
Amity observed one person trying and failing repeatedly to hit the balloons. She didn’t want to doubt her girlfriend, but…
“It’s alright if you don’t. It’s really sweet that you took me here.”
“No, I’m going to do it for you.” Luz puffed out her chest. “Mi am- I mean mi hermosa deserves the best.” Luz chuckled nervously.
Amity didn’t know what she had been about to say, but she was too distracted to inquire about it. Instead, she pulled Luz into a hug. “Thank you.”
She closed her eyes, resting her head on Luz’s shoulder for a moment. When she opened them again, she saw the woman managing the game station watching them with a giant smile.
Amity stared back awkwardly. She probably should have smiled, but she struggled to place the correct facial expression, and besides, Luz told her to be cautious in the human realm.
“Which do you want?” Luz asked after pulling away from the hug.
Amity considered the plushes on display, until her eyes fell on a large rabbit one. It looked quite different from Alphonse, but was still recognizably a bunny, and looked incredibly soft and huggable.
She pointed it out, and Luz’s gaze softened understandingly. She took Amity’s hand in hers and kissed it. “Then I’ll get you that one.”
Luz purchased the tickets, bouncing excitedly on the balls of her feet and giving Amity tender glances from time to time. She was in her chivalrous “fearless champion” mode, which Amity always found adorable.
Though, seeing the cost of the tickets, Amity couldn’t help thinking Luz would have spent less money just buying a stuffed animal from a store.
The carnival worker handed Luz five darts, wishing her good luck. Luz dramatically wheeled her arm back, sending Amity a flirtatious grin, then threw the dart, completely missing the balloons. Her face melted into disappointment.
“Unlucky shot I guess,” she said, trying to laugh it off. She wheeled her arm back once again, sticking out her tongue and squinting dramatically like that would somehow help her. Only to miss a second time.
Amity put her hand on Luz’s shoulder. “Mind if I try?”
“No no, I’m doing this for you.”
Amity giggled. “Okay. Well just so you know, seeing you so cute and determined is enough of a prize.”
Luz quirked one of her eyebrows. “What does that mean?”
Amity swiftly kissed her on the cheek. “Just that I like seeing you in fearless champion mode. Even if you mess up.”
“Well I-” Luz’s cheeks darkened with blush. “I’m glad you like it.”
There was an exhausted sigh from behind them, and they both turned to see a guy waiting in line, tapping his foot. He turned to the carnival worker. “Can you keep this thing going?”
The carnival worker, instead of responding, nodded to Luz. “Take your time, sweetie. You’ve still got three more, you’ve got this.”
Luz composed herself, then threw the dart. This time she hit a balloon. “Yes!” she whooped, jumping in the air, eyes lit brighter than Amity had seen them in a while. “See?”
“Yes, my brave champion is a natural.”  Amity winked at her, then looked at the sign detailing the prizes. At this point, she wouldn’t be able to get a medium plushie, but if Luz got the next two, she would be able to have a small one, and there were plenty of those.
Luz hit the dart successfully once again. Just one more left. Amity was already trying to determine which one she might want. She’d missed the chance for the bunny, but that was okay. Maybe one of the small unicorns.
Then Luz missed her final throw. Amity tried to stifle the disappointment. A keychain, then, was the next level of prize. That would be cute. Luz turned to her with a wince. “Two out of five is…almost fifty percent?”
“You did great, mi tesoro.” Amity had been using the nickname a lot now that Luz had shown such a positive reaction the first time.
Luz smiled at her. “Yeah. Sorry we can’t get one of the giant ones.” She turned to look at the prize board, before the carnival worker stepped in front of it, holding a medium–size bunny plush. “This is the one you wanted, I overheard?”
“Wait, really? I thought we could only get one of the small ones!”
Actually, they weren’t able to get any of them. The carnival worker was making a mistake. Amity opened her mouth to say something, but noticed the woman give her a knowing smile. She was…making an exception for them?
Amity almost felt frustrated - these games truly were rigged, if you could get different prizes depending on if the carnival worker took pity on you or not.
But she wanted the bunny more than she cared about fairness. Luz hadn’t noticed the sign, and clearly wasn’t planning on looking, so Amity kept her mouth shut.
“Nope, you won a medium.”
“That’s great!” Luz took the bunny, and then, with a dramatic flourish, presented it to Amity. “For you, my darling.”
Amity took it and held it close. It was softer than she was expecting, its ears perfect to stim with, and as she held it, she felt her chest expand with warmth. She pulled Luz into a kiss, hoping the happy fluttering of her ears didn’t show through her hair. “Thank you, my champion.”
---
When they got back, they ran into Camila on the way to the girls’ room. “So, how was the carnival?” Camila asked.
Amity nervously held the bunny to her chest. “It was good. Luz, uh, won me this.”
“Ay que lindo!” said Camila. “Can I see?”
Amity tensed, glancing at Luz, who smiled at her reassuringly. Amity stepped forward, trying to calm the pounding of her heart. Camila wasn’t going to take it from her, she knew that, yet the movements were so similar…
“You don’t have to let me if you don’t want to,” said Camila, voice dropping tenderly.
Camila was always extra gentle with her, and as much as Amity hated the idea of being pitied, she craved that kind of affection. Camila was the first adult that had truly shown it to her.
And with those thoughts, Amity found herself relaxing. “Here,” she said, holding up the bunny and handing it to her.
Camila looked at the rabbit lovingly, giving it a kiss on its little pink nose. “So sweet! Tell me what you name it.”
“O-okay,” said Amity, shaking a bit as Camila gave it back to her.
When they got to Luz’s room, she already had tears in her eyes. “Luz I, I think I’m crying a bit now.”
Luz wordlessly folded her arms around her and Amity sank into the familiar warmth of the hug. Since when was that warmth familiar, anyway? Since when had she started getting so used to affection?
“She-she really is fine with it. I…I knew she would be but…thanks, Luz. This is really special to me.”
“Of course, sweet potato. You deserve all the plushies in the world. I’ll try to win you one every carnival we go to. And hey, what are you going to name them?”
Amity considered. “I’m not sure yet.”
“And what’s their backstory?”
“Huh?”
“Come on, I want lore. Where do they come from, do they have a tragic and mysterious past? Do they know Sir Roary?” Luz gasped. “Maybe they’re long-lost lovers! And we just got to reunite them!”
Amity giggled. “I guess I didn’t think about making up lore.”
“Well come on, let’s get to it!”
They spent the rest of the afternoon coming up with silly backstories for their stuffed animals. And that night, as Amity lay down to sleep, she snuggled the bunny. Ghost gave her a disgruntled look, before she reminded the cat that she always slept at the foot of the bed or wandered the house anyway.
Even though Amity knew it wasn’t real, it was comforting to snuggle something so soft against her face, tucked beneath the blanket and providing a reassuring texture to fidget with as she slept. She looked over to Luz, cuddling her own plush, and breathed a happy sigh. The bad feelings from her past lingered, but here, she knew at last she was safe.

Fuck it, I'm gonna dissect all the bullshit in that one Lilith post bit by bit
TW// Lilith hate, victim blaming, abuse, cult mention, ableism towards Autistic people, sexualization of minors (briefly mentioned)
I'll be putting my text in bold just in case it's hard to distinguish between the pictures and my commentary
Here's the post I'm referring to in case you're curious
Tumblr media
Moving on and starting with this bit
Tumblr media
People pay attention to Eda all the damn time, she's literally one of the main characters. Funny how you only mention tik tok and nothing else. Is that the only other social media you have? Because fans on different social media platforms act much differently; on IG and Reddit stuff like the sexualization of minors and fucking ODALIA AND ALADOR STANS are normalized, where everywhere else it's pretty much universally agreed that that stuff is bad. I don't know a lot about what toh Tik Tok is like just because I don't usually go on tik tok, but even if it is like this, it's not the same for the rest of the fandom. A lot of the fandom still hates Lilith and blames her for her abuse and not being able to leave
You say that like she's a bad person, she's really not. The curse she placed on Eda wasn't intended to be permanent and probably wasn't even supposed to take the effects that it did. She was most likely scammed. I mean look at how she reacts when Eda transforms for the first time. She also feels guilty enough about it to throw herself into an abusive situation and spend almost her whole life trying to make up for it. Lastly, yes she hurt Luz, but let's not forget that Belos threatened her life upon Eda's capture and Lilith was running out of time and had no other option. Obviously what she did was wrong but she's not the real monster here.
"I do like Lilith" this entire essay says otherwise.
Tumblr media
Literally none of us ignore any of the bad shit she's done, stop lying about us.
Yes, Lilith did mock her for her curse, which was messed up, but we don't actually know for sure if the curse is basically canonically a disability in that world, so if that's the case then for now it's technically not ableism until we get confirmation otherwise.
"it was an accident and I forgive Lilith" no you fucking don't. First of all this entire essay is you talking about how evil you think she is and secondly, if it really was as bad as you view it, you wouldn't be that forgiving.
Tumblr media
Ah yes the victim blaming, the one thing that almost everyone does to Lilith and barely anyone talks about.
There is literally not a single Lilith stan out there who blames Eda for getting cursed. You're just mad that your victim blaming towards Lilith got called out so you silence us by lying about how we do the same thing to Eda.
No one is making Eda out to be the villain either, the only example I can find of this is a few fanfics where she treats Lilith a lot more harshly than she should, and even then, scenes like that are written in a positive light as if you're supposed to be on Eda's side, so with that in mind, the writers of these fics are clearly not even Lilith stans. In terms of how actual stans treat Eda, the worst they do is make her slightly ignorant of Lilith's trauma, kinda like the fandom, minus the "slightly", until she grows as a character and learns to see the red flags. If that's the problem you're talking about, then breaking news: Eda's not perfect either. She has flaws too just like literally everyone else in the show and people are allowed to write about them
Tell me the truth: are people making playlists for Lilith that include a lot of sad and angry songs because she's not a happy person anyway so there wouldn't be a point in having any happy songs, or are they making "trauma" playlists? There's a difference
I'm sorry, are you trying to tell me that people recognizing Lilith's trauma is victim blaming Eda? That's not how it works sweetycakes
There is far more Eda angst out there than there is for Lilith, where are you finding so much Lilith angst? LILITH is the one who's traumas are being ignored while Eda's gets all the attention. You're acting like one of those white cis gays on twitter who see black people talking about the anti blackness they experience daily and accuse them of being homophobic because "there is so much homophobia in the world and they still manage to make it all about race".
No one is saying that Lilith has worse trauma, we're only saying that her's is also severe and that it definitely exists. Also funny how you're allowed to be mad at us for comparing Lilith and Eda's trauma (once again lying about us), then you go on to do the exact same thing and say that EDA'S trauma is worse. Even if, hypothetically speaking, Eda did have it worse, that doesn't mean Lilith doesn't have the right to be traumatized. Both of them have trauma, both should be recognized. Also, Lilith had far more going on in her life than just the guilt of her actions, she was was implied to have been psychologically and maybe physically abused, and was probably even tortured. Stop ignoring all the red flags and condemn the actual abuser (Belos) before you criticize anything the abused (Lilith) has done.
We're not making everything about Lilith, like shut up.
Tumblr media
Please don't say that autistic people "have autism", it implies that it's something that can be removed from us. For example: you don't say "a person with blackness" when referring to black people or "a woman with homosexuality" when referring to Lesbians.
Oh yeah I'm also autistic so here are MY thoughts
Amity and Lilith are not antagonists anymore, hcing them as Autistic is not villainizing autism.
The autistic Lilith headcanon was made by autistic fans, allistics only latched onto it because they either wanted to be supportive or they saw that she actually had a lot of autistic traits
You're not the only autistic person alive, just because you're not like Lilith or Amity doesn't mean none of us are or they're not autistic. I mean, I know I am
You're not fun or funny
"not all Autistic people are like this" remember that line, dear readers
Actually, I prefer the autistic villain trope MUCH more than the grown ass autistic adult that acts like a five year old trope. At least we'd have less stereotypes associated with us.
Autism is not supposed to be portrayed in only fun and happy characters, that is literally the epitome of stereotyping and infantilizing. You literally just said that not all autistic people are the same, doesn't this count as being all the same? Does this mean I don't exist anymore? Am I just not autistic? Are you even aware that a flat affect or monotone voice is literally a very common autistic trait? You can't just say that we're stereotyping autistics and then just go on to stereotype us, like what the fuck are you even on? Is it only ok when you do it?
Amity is not edgy for fuck's sake
Literally no one is headcanoning Lilith or Amity as autistic because they're mean, we headcanon them as autistic because they actually show traits of it
Oh, our harmless headcanons are making you feel uncomfortable because they don't fit into the stereotypes you made up about us? Good to know our plan is working I guess
Last thing I wanna say regarding this post as a whole: why are you acting like liking Lilith and feeling sympathy for her is a bad thing? If you find this then don't say "I don't think that's a bad thing", answer HONESTLY
Well that's all I have for now, thank you for reading, I need to go to bed soon

School crush (Vinira fic)
(English is not my first language so I apologized if something doesn’t make sense. I tried not to but mistakes happend; me, for example)
Chapter two:
It was lunch time at Hexside. All, or at least a good part of the students were having fun talking with their firends and eating their meals.
Emira was doing none of it.
Sitting in the cafetria’s table with her brother and a few other kids that she was forced to hang around with, Emira was in silence just looking at nothing.
‘‘Hey, Em, you good?’‘ Edric asked.
‘‘Perfectly.’‘
‘‘Well, you don’t look perfectly’‘. Odolette said. If Emira had to be honest with herself, she would said that Odolette was her very best friend. Not that she will ever say it aloud.
And actually, all Emira’s forced friends weren’t all bad. If you ignore Mungo, the rest were pretty good.
‘‘So, are you gonna tell us what’s wrong?’‘ Clovis asked with a lot of pudin everywhere but his mouth.
‘‘No and clean yourself’‘. Emira answered. Then, she started to look away at the same direction.
Sorcha, who was at Clovis’ left, took a napkin and cleaned his face.
Emira was looking at the double-track kid’s table with her peripheral sight. Emira wasn’t dumb. As much as she would like to see Viney laughing at something her friends said, she couldn’t. In one hand someone could notice, in the other hand that someone could be her friends, and in the third hand (the worst one) Viney could notice.
‘‘Oh!’’  Clovis exclaimed ‘‘I see what’s happening now’‘
‘‘What?’‘ Odolette asked after a few seconds of silence.
‘‘Is my imagination or our dearest Emira is looking intensely at that up-grade hot boy over there?’’ Clovis asked.
‘‘What?’‘ the whole table, Emira included, asked.
Odolette look at the direction Emira’s eyes were supposedly looking at, Emira did too, just to find a good-looking schoolmate that Emira haven’t met yet, his face was familiar, tho. Probably she have seen him around the school in all these years.
Yes, he was handsome, Emira and everyone with one eye on their face could tell, but there was one little problem. The guy was a he. And she was a lesbian.
‘‘OH TITAN!’‘ Odolette began ‘‘YOU LIKE-’‘
‘‘Shut. Up.’‘ Emira interrupted by putting her hand in Odolette’s mouth to stoped her before someone could hear. ‘’And before anyone say anything, no, I don’t like him.’’
‘‘So, why were you starring with those heart-shaped eyes?’‘ Sorcha asked with exxageration in her voice.
‘‘I didn’t made heart-shaped eyes.’‘
‘‘Sure you didn’t’‘ Clovis said, sarchastically.
‘‘I’m serious. I don’t know what you are talking about.’‘
‘‘Oh, Em! Having a crush isn’t bad.’‘ Odolette began ‘‘Honestly, I don’t know him, but I could sit with them and ask his name or even settle a date this week.’‘
‘‘But what if he says no?’‘Sorcha asked, ignoring completely the annoying and dumbfounded face Emira had.
‘‘As if someone would say no to a Blight.’‘ Clovis answered the question. ‘‘So anyway, Edric,’’ he change the subject ‘‘as Emira is obviously lying,’’
‘‘No, I’m not!’‘ Emira yelled.
‘‘what do you think? Ready to become a protective jelaous older brother?’’
‘‘Nah, Em can do whatever she pleases to. In first place she’ll have to actually talk to-’‘
‘‘Wait! Emira is actually in love?!’’ Sorcha exclaimed. The three friend were just joking and teasing, but now that Edric have sincerely accepted that Emira in fact was crushing that boy, things wouldn’t stop soon.
‘‘Sorry.’’ Edric whisper to his sister once Em started to look at him angry.
Emira sighted. She wasn’t mad at Edric but she sure was mad at Sorcha, Clovis and Odolette.
‘‘Well’‘ Emira thought ‘‘At least Mungo is not here.’‘
And, as the universe and the Titan loves her so much, Mungo appear just behind her and Edric.
‘‘What are we talking about?’‘
The atmosphere changed. No one liked Mungo.
He was part of a wealthy family, as the rest of the twins’ group of friends, but with the sly diference that he did really believed all the bullshit his parents talked about.
Sure, they were all little rich babies, but that didn’t mean that they shared all their belives with their parents. Except Mungo, of course.
And besides that, he is jus simply... Annoying. Always trying to appear the greatest among the greats, when he was defenitely not.
All in the group officially stoped liking him when they were nine years old and had told all their parents that they stealed some some sweet fruits from the kitchen in one of the thousand parties they were all together.
Reth was simply a boot-licker.
That’s not bad, the own Emira has to be one when her mother is involved. It’s a technique to survive, but she learned when and to who be one. And to always back-up your friends.
Mungo prefers praise above anything.
That’s why not even them, who are suppose to be his friends, like him.
 ‘’Nothing at all’’ Edric aswered.
When Mungo appear all their conversations had to change, at least when it were problematic.
Wich was most of the time.
Before Mungo could ask again Odolette asked: ‘‘What where you doing?.’’ And Mungo didn’t hesitated before start talking about how he is so great that his healing  teacher asked him help with something Emira didn’t care to listen.
‘‘So, due to those important and urgent business meetings, my parents will not be able to come to the open doors day.’’ Emira catch Mungo said after a few minutes of dozed out.
‘‘What open doors day?’’ Edric asked while chewing the last slice of his lunch.
‘‘Principal Bump haven’t give the announcement in the illusion track?’’ Sorcha asked.
Em and Ed axchanged looks.
They both skipped those first classes.
‘‘No, he hasn’t.’’ they said at the same time. Normally they wouldn’t care to their friends to know that, but Mungo was there too. And that brat could make someway to let their parents know.
‘‘No matter how many times they’ve done that, it still gives me chills’’ Clovis said reffering to the perfect sync the Blight twins had.
‘‘Agree’’ Sorcha and Odolette said. Mungo didn’t, but it was obvious that everyone freaks out when they do things like that, especially with gestures.
‘‘So, back to the topic,’’ Em interrupted “What was that opend doors thing again?”
“Well, principal Bump announced that, to show some parents improvment, instalations, and much more shit, basically is inviting the tutors to come the next week friday and spend a day here.” Sorcha explained. “He’s even gonna let us go earlier and the ones that can’t get their parents to come, must deliver a letter sign by your tutor and can take the day free.”
“So, besides from Mungo, does anyone’s parents love you enough to spend the day here?” Clovis asked. Before Mungo could object something, Luz, The Human, came in the cafeteria running and  screaming while a giant, wild and mounstrious weird-looking abomination was chasing after her.
And just a few seconds later, Luz’s friends came in too. Willow, Amity and the little ilussion’s track boy that Emira never learned his name before.
After a little of battle, screams and some help from a pair of other students, they could stoped the monster in a few minutes.
.
.
.
When his children asked him if he could come to the open doors day, he couldn’t say no.
He was tempted. But he didn’t.
The mountain of paperwork will have to wait.
The four Blights get in the chariot and soon, they were flying their way to school. Normally they would go walking, but Alador preffered to not.
“Dad” Amity called “, before you get in the school there are a couple of things you should know”.
“Oh, I almost forgot, thanks, Mittens.” Edric said. Amity didn’t even scolded him because of the nickname. She give up some time ago.
“What kind of things?”
“Well...”Amity began.
“Wait, first of all you have to promised us that nothing will reach mom’s ears.”
“Or the emperors ears.” Completed Emira. Alador nodded in agreement, but still aware.
“Does the emperor even have ears?” Edric asked.
“Mmmh... No idea...”
“Guys!” Amity called. “Focus.”
“The thing is,” Amity tried to explain again. It was more difficult that it seemed to “There might be a couple of things that... well...”
“Are illegal” Edric said.
“Edric!” both sisters yelled.
“It’s the truth!”
“But there are ways to say the things!”
“So, Hexside really has illegal things?” Alador asked. He was surprised but his face was looking as calm as always.
For some reason that didn’t surprised him as much as he suspect it would.
“Yeah... So, first thing: There’s a human studying there.”
Ok, Alador did not see that coming.
“That human’s mentor is The Owl Lady.”
Oh, great.
“And the school also have double-track students.”
“Let me guess”. Alador sight. “The human?”
Edric snorted. “Pfft! Of course not, dad!”
“The human is the only all-tracks kid” Emira explained rapidly. “The double-track students are witches. And one of those is my crush”.
Titan, have mercy of them.

.
.
Alador Blight have been walking with his children for all around the school. The plan was that the first hours he would spend it with Amity.
Those were pleasant. Alador was too in the abomination track when he was a schooler.
Ah, the good old days when the only things that matter were the grades. He did enjoyed his childhood and his teenage.
Alador didn’t had a lot of friends, but sure he had good ones. His family wasn’t rich or famous, but he lived well and happy with the few luxuries he could have.
In his last school year he formally started a relationship with Odalia and married some years after. The twins born and, in two more years, his little Amity did too.
Alador was in his way to meet Edric and Emira. Amity kinda ditched him when this girl appear. For the colorful uniform Alador guessed that she was the all-track, human, the owl lady’s apprentice. So Alador didn’t said anything and just let Amity enjoy herself.
In his way to the illusion track, Alador saw Bump with the owl lady. The woman was laughing while Bump had a tired expression in his face.
“Dad, I thought you would be spending time with Amity” Edric said when they meet on the halls.
“Well, she preferred to spend time with her friends”.
“Amity has friends?” Emira joked.
“Don’t bother your sister”. Alador said, but before one of the twins could say anything a teacher interrumpted:
“Mr. Blight, what an honor! Hope you are enjoying yourself”.
“I am, is always a delight to spend time with my children”. Alador turn to look Edric and Emira, that where behind him.
“Ed, Em, good morning”. The teacher saluted, with a big, hypocrit smile on his face. “I don’t think I saw you in class the last wenesday”.
‘damm gossipy teacher’. Both twins thought.
Their history teacher was mad with them. He would always give them extra homeworks and tried to put a lot of tricks in their quizzes just to make them fail. They hated to fail.
Failure was never an option.
So, they started to have a war with him.
Who would get mad or insane first?
Most of time, the teacher did.
In this war everything was posible. One time, Edric and Emira even went to his house, in the middle of the night, to set their biggest prank ever.  La créme de la créme.
Let’s just say that, their dear proffesor didn’t went to school for two weeks.
And when he returned, his skin was covered by rash. And his voice was more pitched than a little three year old girl. Oh! And he stinked like rotten meat, too!
The twins didn’t remembered why this whole little war began. The only thing they knew was that no one, besides the them, could knew. The three woud get in trouble, with either principal Bump and Odalia Blight. None wanted that.
Alador raised an eyebrow, curious.
“Of couse we where there, tacher, we woud never do something as skip classes”. Edric began.
Alador raised more his eyebrow. Of course his twins ould skip classes. They’ve been grounded too many times for it.
“Yeah, I mean, we are Blights, any behavior below perfection just doesn't exist”. Emira put emphasis in the Blight part. A casual reminder os status, as her mother says.
“Oh, yes. I think I forgot. So, how’s your proyect going?”
“Dad, I wanna show you something”. Emira called, while grapping her hand in her father’s arm and tooked him far away from the teacher while Edric keep distracting him.
“Care to explain?” Alador asked as Emira pulled him away from that hall.
“Nah, I’m fine”.
Father and daughter walked some more steps until Emira abruptely stoped and stared there for a few seconds while her face turned a little red.
“Is something wrong?” Alador asked. The hallway didn’t seem to have anything out of normal. Just some teachers, students and, because of the special ocassion, some parents, too.
“Oh, no no. Just, let’s get somewhere else and-”
“Hey, Em!” A voice called.
And with that, Emira’s face got even redder.
Not as much as Amity’s angry face, but sure it was something.
“Ahahha, hiii Viney” Emira said, weirdly, as she walk up the hall to get close to the girl.
Alador, watching from the distance, scanned the girl.
Brown hair, double colored uniform and a familiar green eyes. She was way shorter than Emira (and probably the rest of her classmates), but seemed stronger.
“I thought you won’t be comming today”. The Viney girl said.
“Uhm, yeah, my, uh, dad is here... today”. And then Emira pointed in the direction Alador was.
“Should I go and say hi?” Viney asked Emira.
“No, you shouldn’t!”
Viney tilted her head.
Alador chuckled a little. He knew very well how the blush mess™ works. Alador thought that perhaps he should apologize to his daughter for inheriting that trait.
“I- I mean, sure you could but I don’t see why would you liked to do something like, meet my dad, pfft”. Emira was nervous, ok?
Alador from the other side of the hall, listening the best he could to the conversation and trying his best to not laught, waved a little his hand to Viney, wich she responded.
“Anyway,” Em tried to change the subject. “Did your dad is here or...?”
“Yeah, actually, and if none of my siblings took him away, he should be... there!”. Viney pointed to a man talking to the healing track teacher. He was back on his back, so Emira couldn’t see his face but sure Viney’s dad was tall and buff and seemed like Viney inherited her brown hair from her dad, but, as Emira noted, her skin color should be from her mother’s side. Viney’s dad skin was tanned.
“Miss Tamer have done an excellent work. I’m glad she was able to come back to classes”. The teacher congratulated, as Emira could hear.
‘Of course Viney did excellent’, Emira thought. ‘She’s top student in both beast-keeping and healing. A complete cute nerd’.
“Well, thank you miss Alawdi”. Viney’s dad said. His voice was deep but friendly and he was notably happy about the teacher's comment.
“Oh no, you should thank Viney. She’s the one who put the dedication. And as much as I would like to keep talking about such a great student, I have to give more feedbacks to some parents. Good morning, Mr. Tamer”. Alador couldn’t stop himself from remembering the name Tamer. He had known someone with that same surname.
And with that the teacher moved to talk to another of her students’ parents. It seemed more like scolding than feedbacking.
Viney’s dad turned around and looked for his daugher, that was still by Emira’s side.
“Dada,” Viney called her dad while he was walking to them. “She’s Emira, the friend I talked you about”.
‘She told her dad about me!’ Emira thought ignoring completely the friend word.
“H-hello mister, uhm, mister Tamer, sir” Emira talked first.
‘I really need to apologized for the blush mess thing’ Alador thought watching all the scene from the distance. Because of the perspective he couldn’t see neither of the Tamer’s faces, but Emira’s one was straight on his view.
Alador noted that Emira’s left hand was hide on her back and was pulling her braid a little.
That was for sure a little tick that Odalia had too. Except that his wife pulled her dress skirt or shirt. Not her hair.
“... Yes, my dad’s over there”. Alador heard Emira said. He dozed out a little while remembering where his old locker was.
He looked to the only group of people, at this point, and he-
OH TITAN NO!
This isn’t  happening.
What were the probabilities? One in a million?
But of couse he had to have the one...
Because, Titan, Gradyel Fortis was, after all this years, in front of him.
His last named changed, probably because, as he was seeing, Gradyel had a daugher, wich means that he is married. But, Alador could never mistake him, because Gradyel Fortis was his very best friend more than a decade ago.
Suddenly the shortest girl’s green eyes made a lot of sense. ‘It is her mother’s same green eyes’ Alador thought.
“Alador? Is that you?” Gradyel called.
“You know eachother?” Viney asked her dad. with a vissibly confused Emira beside her.
Alador walked to the group, feeling how his cheeks burned, just a little, nothing too obvious.
“That if we know eachother? We used to be best friends, and neighbors”. Gradyel explained to the girls.
“Really?” This time Emira asked to her dad. Her curiosity overlapping her nervousness.
“Yes, we used to hang out a few years ago”. Alador finally said.
“Few years? You mean few decades” Gradyel was laughing at this point and give Alador a pat on his back. Gradyel didn’t measure his strength, because of that Alador to choked a little.
He didn’t mind, after all, Gradyel Fortis never learned how to control his strenght, really.
He changed a lot, just like Alador did. But his essence was still the same.
The same Gradyel Fortis that he spended chatting in classes with.
The same Gradyel Fortis that he helped to cheat on a test.
The same Gradyel Fortis that tried to bake a cake for his birthday (and failed).
The same Gradyel Fortis that he helped to confess the girl he liked.
The same Gradyel Fortis that was Alador’s crush for almost four years.
