It's Optimus again! This time he's a bat. Did you know he was also a bat? Apparently the idea was that he and Megatron would have two beast modes, but I'm not convinced. The proposed story for the change from bat/alligator to gorilla/t-rex is that they were rejected choices for alt modes. The biggest thing I don't get is why the leaders of the two factions were given the smallest toys. Were they made before or after the change was decided? I also read that he was based on Batman. It's the last day of Huevember, and as you can probably tell by my complete lack of submissions this month, I did not manage to get it done on time. Fortunately, I have the pencilwork ready for days 1-24 (the final 6 days are something a little different), so I'll be able to work on inking and adding colour to them during December. So I guess I'll be taking part in Huecember instead. Inktober Day Three: "Roasted" (plus Collect + Poison) You can probably tell from the sketch that I wasn't getting into this one. The concept was supposed to be a salamander protecting some kind of sorceress from a wyvern while she milked its babies for poison, but I made a bit of a mess of the composition and it's hard to make out what's going on. I recorded this for a YouTube video so I'll be uploading that to my channel, Aldo Ink at some point in the future, along with a cleaned up version of this drawing. It was a lot of fun, but I think I could have done better, so I might give it another go with the other side. It's me, except I'm an old man, because I haven't got enough out of this "I'm 30, so I'm old now" bit that wasn't really funny in the first place. I really enjoyed drawing this, because it feels like all I've done for the past two months is monochromatic drawings, and today I got to do something in full colour. And then crap all over that by converting it into another monochromatic drawing. Whoo. Huevember Day 30: Xabio Arts I found @xabioarts through a collaboration between Jazza and Mark Crilley. How did he change the course of history and become part of that collaboration? Nobody knows... Except Xabio Arts. And possibly anyone who watched that video. Also anyone who knows how to edit a video. I'm done. I lost a bit of my sanity trying to do 20+ of these in the space of three days. I'm never doing this again. Except I'm not in a position to promise that, so we'll see what happens. Huevember Day 29: Dina Norlund I've been aware of @dinanorlund for a while, but I've only recently gotten into her videos. Fun fact: I drew the majority of my sketches for this project while watching her videos, including this one. I really like cyan. It's not necessarily the best colour for rendering a human, but it's such a nice colour to work with. Its inverse is red, so it was easier to suggest flesh tones than any of the greens. This hue is cyan. Which I've already said. Huevember Day 28: Aldo Ink @feraldoodle is an artist I know. Coincidentally, the 28th was his birthday, so it seemed like the most appropriate day for this entry. His channel is... ...Not doing great. But he seems pretty okay with that. This was really easy to shade compared to the others. I guess I have more practice drawing this face than any others. Weird. Huevember Day 27: HulloAlice @hulloalice is one of the first artists I found on YouTube. I saw one of her three marker challenge videos when I first discovered the challenge, and was immediately impressed by what I was seeing. This one was a bit of a challenge because I had to decide what to do with the hair. The hairstyle on Alice's avatar isn't what I'm used to seeing in videos, so I didn't know how far to deviate from it. Huevember Day 26: Chloe Rose Art @artofchloerose is not an unboxing channel. I repeat: NOT an unboxing channel. That is all I am going to say. (I found her before the unboxings btw) I know this is more or less her favourite colour (unless I haven't been paying attention), so this was about the only green I immediately assigned to someone. It was about as difficult to work with as any of the other greens. Huevember Day 25: Danica Sills @danica.sills is another artist I think i subscribed to and rediscovered at a later date. I found her again last year while I was recovering from shoulder pain, and I'm pretty sure it was her videos that introduced me to the concept of using a heat gun or hairdryer to dry watercolour paintings quicker. I didn't use Danica's YouTube avatar for this one, so I combined the pose from another icon with her appearance in her videos. It was very slightly easier to suggest red with this hue, because the inverse of this hue is more red-biased than blue. Huevember Day 24: Nadiaxel @nadiaxelart is an artist I recently started watching, so I haven't seen a lot of her videos yet in comparison to the other artists on the list. This is one of the entries I didn't use the YouTube avatar as the basis for, but instead the channel art. It was interesting trying to translate that into my style, and create a fair likeness of the artist at the same time. Also, have I mentioned that I don't like using green for portraits?
