I had this random thought where the reader (gender neutral), from the very start of tdwt, Is aware of Alejandro's game and they use that to their advantage. Every time he tries to use his charm on them they uno reverse card him, flustering him instead. Their dynamic progresses throughout the show from an "I can mess with this guy" to "I hope we meet again when the show ends". Like, to the reader, the money doesn't matter to them anymore they just want to mess around with Alejandro and hang out.

Alejandro Burromuerto. The charmer, the second Heather, the guy who gets the girl. He was all of those things and more. There's so much going on in this competition, so why is he dwelling on one thing?

That one thing was you. You saw through the act. And he respected you for it.

"Ah, (Name), fancy seeing you here." Alejandro smiles, sitting next to you on the bench in economy.

"We're on the same team, you know." You chuckle. Alejandro gets a bit closer to you.

"I must've been too focused on your beautiful face, mi amor."

"Oh really? Because, to my knowledge, your face is even more beautiful." You respond. God, Alejandro's lucky no one is paying attention to you two.

"Aww, you are too kind to me." He leans away, smirking at you. You lean forward, whispering something in his ear. His whole face flushes and he looks away. You just laugh.

During the time you weren't voted out, Alejandro was like a flirting machine at your side. He tried making you crack. He really did. But he failed

"Ugh! (Name) is just so hard to manipulate. They see through everything, and it isn't like they're just stupid!" He sighs to the confessional. "They're incredible, aren't they?" He says dreamily.

The camera cuts to Alejandro close up, saying, "Give me the tape! Ugh, how do you open this thing!? Give it to me!"

This was it. Alejandro had to vote you out before he got too caught up in whatever spell you put on him. You walked up and sat down next to him.

"Hey, Alejandro." You said. Alejandro just looked at you. "I already know I'm getting voted out, so, uh, I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed what we had."

Alejandro raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"The constant flirting and bickering. It was kinda fun, if I'm being honest." You smile. "I'd like to get to know the actual you, after this whole thing is over. Am I able to give you my number if we see each other again?"

Alejandro paused. Why was his heart aching?

"Of course." He said. And to his surprise, he hugged you.

And you hugged him back.

yes. I am big enjoyer of Alejandro Burromuerto. Could I request that the reader is genuinely nice to him, they have zero ulterior motives in the show and they just mindlessly joke around and treat him with the right amount of praise that he should have gotten back home? Like, the reader is so confusing and oblivious but at the same time endearing and genuine with their words and actions.

He didn't get it. He didn't get you. Alejandro Burromuerto was drawing a blank.

You were like Owen, except much prettier. And you weren't gross. And you didn't call him that stupid nickname. And you didn't—

"Alejandro?" You say, leaning over to look at him.

"Ah, um, yes?" Alejandro looks over at you with that famous smile. You smile back, and it's like the metal cage around his heart got it's lock picked. Again.

He doesn't understand. How can someone on this godforsaken plane besides himself have any redeeming qualities? It was like you knew how to make him happy, how to make him enthusiastic. It was like he was the dog and you were the owner. He didn't like it, but he didn't mind it either.

"You seem a little, uh, off. Is everything going smoothly in the Burromuerto-mobile?" You chuckled lightly at your own joke, but you put a hand on his shoulder afterwards. "I'm always here to talk if the confessionals don't do any good."

Alejandro tried. He tried so hard to see a sliver of something evil. But he couldn't. And...it wasn't so bad. He smiled, patting your hand. "Ah, amor. You are too kind to me, truly."

"What? Why wouldn't I be?" Alejandro's eyes went wide. "You're the coolest person on this flight, man. Also, my teammate. Gotta make friends some way, right?" You smile wider, putting your hand on top of his.

He almost short-circuts.

You went on to win some challenges with Alejandro, all the while joking, talking and laughing with him.

He was about to break.

He could go on and on about you. Positive things, of course. You were simply amazing to him. You treated him with respect, with kindness. He hadn't been so happy to see someone's face every day in what seems like years.

Until, Alejandro finally figured something out about you. His brain clicked in all the right places. He finally understood. He finally knew.

You were his soulmate.

One night when your team was in first class, Alejandro had sat next to you in one of the chairs.

"Can't sleep?" He whispered to you.

"Nope." You whispered back. You turned to face him, smiling. "Same for you?"

Alejandro nods. "(Name), is it alright if I use my 'free conversation' ticket?" He jokes. You say yes, of course.

"I just would like to thank you. Thank you for everything. You've been so nice to me, niceness I never knew I needed." He felt himself start to tear up. Burromuerto's don't cry, why is he doing it now? "I- it's like...you...respect me. You don't call me weird nicknames. You don't try and beat me in everything. You don't try to one up me. It's- no, you're a breath of fresh air." Alejandro says, his voice wavering. You put your hands on his.

"Alejandro—"

"I love you. I love you (Name). I don't care if a million people see this side of me anymore. I don't care about my brother, or my overwhelming family, I care about you. I care about you and I care that you care for me." Tears started to spill from his eyes. "I love you so much."

"Alejandro, I love you too." You said, wiping his tears. He kept his eyes in your hand, sobbing. You hugged him tight. "I love you too. It's alright."

"All respect given, mi amor, but you are wrong. We need to add the sugar and then the cocoa powder." Alejandro sighed, placing the piece of paper down on the counter. "You are going to make me do something very bad, carñio." He mumbles.

"We don't have to follow the goddamn recipe." You roll your eyes, adding the sugar and the cocoa powder in at the same time. "There, happy now?"

"Very." He stands up straight, looking over at the bowl. "I hate home ec," He shakes his head.

"Hey, what's so bad? You get to team up with me." You tease, looking over the recipe and getting the right things.

"Ah, yes, because I just love you so much." Alejandro says sarcastically, rolling his eyes. You chuckle, cracking some eggs into a bowl.

"Maybe I just love you so much back." You respond.

"...Seriously?" Alejandro pauses. You look back at him.

"...Maybe." You mumble, looking away after a few seconds.

"I think I want that 'maybe' to be a 'yes'." He says, his hand going on top of yours. His thumb gently caresses the top of your hand. You blush faintly, your pinky going up ontop of his pointer finger.

"I think I do too." You turn to him.

And then, he kisses you. And you kiss back.

He pulls away slowly, clearing his throat. "That was, um, pleasant." Alejandro says, blushing along with you.

You just nod. "Let's get this assignment done."

"Hey, Alejandro, I'm gonna take a shower." You called out from the bathroom. You heard footsteps coming to the door, probably Alejandro.

"Tesoro, I have a question." He said from behind the door.

"Yeah?" You responded, taking your top off.

"Would you mind if we, um, showered...together?" He asked hesitantly. You opened the door, blush coating both of your faces.

"Y- yeah, sure, sure." You smiled, opening the door for him. He stepped inside, giving you a kiss on the cheek before starting to undress himself. You started the water, just to get it hot, as you stripped the rest of your clothing and hopped into the shower. Alejandro joined you moments later, up against your back in the tight space.

"This was, um, not meant for two people, I believe." He chuckled, his hands on your shoulders.

"Oh well." You chuckled, leaning your head back against his shoulder. Alejandro's hands snaked around your waist, his head resting on your shoulder.

"It's moments like these are ones I very much enjoy, lindura."

"I do too." You respond, kissing him softly. "Now, let's get clean before we waste anymore water. " You smile, cracking open the bodywash.

Alejandro got out of the bathroom much later than you. You were cuddled up on the bed, under the blanket. Alejandro came in, flopping down on the bed beside you. He got under the blanket as well, cuddling up to you like a cat.

"Good shower?"

"Very good." He responded, arms going to hug your waist. You settled into his touch, calm, content and clean.

He thought it was stupid.

He thought everything these idiots did, except you, was stupid.

So, why we're you doing this?

"Amor, I had thought you were better than this." Alejandro scolds, crossing his arms.

"Trust me, I'm not gonna die. Besides, Duncan's got me. Right, Duncan?" You looked behind you, Duncan just giving you a toothy smile and a thumbs up.

Your team was currently in economy class, headed off to...wherever. You stood by the wood-patched hole in the side of the plane, a rope tied around your waist. You and Duncan said it was an 'elimination simulator'. Basically, skydiving without the diving part. Alejandro was worried, scared, frightened. He was already scared about losing the last challenge, but now possibly losing you? It wouldn't do.

"You ready, (Name)?" Duncan says, grabbing the extra rope and securing it around his hands.

"Yes!" You said. Alejandro was about to protest, but then the wood flew off, and you slipped, scraping your hand on a nail and falling off with a scream. Duncan panicked, tugging at the rope. Alejandro ran over, grabbed your non-cut hand, and pulled you up into his arms, getting both of you away from the hole.

"Holy shit." Duncan said, breathing through his mouth.

"That..."

"Was so awesome!" You laughed, and Duncan laughed along, giving you a high-five. Alejandro sighed.

"No, not awesome. Let's get you patched up." He shook his head, untying the knot. He kissed the cut hand's palm, leading you off to the bathroom because god knows he isn't getting tetanus. Of course, he loves you, but not that much to get a disease over.

Duncan went and put the rope back, going over to talk to Chef about the hole.

In the bathrooms, you sat on the sink while Alejandro patched up your hand.

"You mad?" You ask him, looking down as he works on your hand.

"Asunto, mi amor, asunto." He tsks, shaking his head.

"I don't know what that means, babe." You say, kissing his cheek after he finishes up.

"Concern. I don't like you getting hurt, you know." He leans against the sink, kissing your bandaged hand.

"I would hope not." You chuckle. "I thought it would be fun. And it was. You should totally try out our simulator some time."

"There is no way I'm letting Duncan have my life in the palm of his hands." Alejandro sighs.
