Can you do Hightower hair?? Especially Lynesse and Alerie

The hightowers follow the Tyrell’s and the rest of the Reach with the flowers, ribbons, and pearls. The have hair that’s is heavily inspired by the regency era and keep the hair very tall, high hair hightowers. The top right and middle are some that i could see Lynesse wearing since they are just so over the top. The two on the left are more Alerie since they have the flowers. Alicent wedding hair is imo one of the best hairstyles from Hotd, exactly what I would imagine a noble lady wearing.

So, this was a suggestion by @wickedlittlebxtchfromhighgarden ! Malora, Alerie & Lynesse Hightower, plus I drew a little baby Margaery (cause I know she likes her 😊) 💚

Spoilers for Fire & Blood/HOTD

It's certainly not impossible for Margaery Tyrell (and her brothers) to be descended from Rhaena Targaryen through their mother Alerie Hightower, but it's not guaranteed.

Firstly, as other people have noted, Garmund Hightower was the thirdborn son. So I'm not saying there's absolutely no way for Alerie to come from his line, only that he had two older brothers and they sired children of their own. They also had a sister Bethany. So given this, I just think it's a little weird to assume Alerie could have only descended from Rhaena when there were at least three other options.

Secondly, I get the feeling people base this on the fact that Rhaena had 6 kids in contrast to her twin who had one child. The more kids = higher chance, I guess. Which I get.... But as we saw with Rhaena's own great-grandmother, having a bunch of kids isn't a guarantee that you'll be survived by them all. Nor is them having children of their own. Alysanne had 13 kids and of the ten she outlived, only 4 of them had kids. So honestly, it's not unrealistic to me at all for a similar thing to have happened with Rhaena, even if wasn't as bad with Alysanne. It's because of child mortality (with three of Alysanne's kids dying before age 5) that makes this realistic. Factoring this + at least one daughter being promised to the Faith (these were the Hightowers after all) you might be left with only two or three daughters marrying and having children. However, those daughters might have been barren/had her children die young without issue/die in childbirth themselves without issue. Add all this realistic possibilities plus the fact that Rhaena lived.... 140ish years before Alerie's time, I'm just not convinced.

The reason why I made this post is that people speculating this doesn't annoy me because like I said, it's not impossible. What does annoy me is that these are the same people who call the Hightowers dirty. The irony of this is the current Tyrell kids are half Hightower just as Alicent's kids were. There are people who've convinced themselves Alicent's kids aren't Targaryens & trust me I wish they weren't cursed with Viserys as a father but regardless they were Targaryens.

So what's the difference? Is it because Rhaena is someone they approve of? Probably. But the thing about Rhaena and this is no shade towards her, but between her and Alicent Hightower, I would argue that the latter is probably more significant to future Hightowers/Tyrells because of what she did. She wasn't the first Reach-adjacent queen maybe, but unlike Viserys, Maegor's claim was undeniably inferior to his nephew. Furthermore, Alicent was queen for much longer than either Ceryse Hightower & Elinor Costayne, and during this time she earned the love of the smallfolk & so did her daughter Helaena. Her son was crowned king and died a king, whereas Rhaenyra's title would be that of a princess. Alicent's daughter was queen and her granddaughter was Aegon III's first queen. It came at a brutal, bloody cost but ultimately Alicent achieved what she wanted - her blood on the Throne which is the same thing that Mace and Alerie want.

Rhaena in contrast was never queen, none of her kids married back into the royal family, her husband wasn't heir to his house. What is interesting about her is that she was the last dragon rider which is something boastworthy, however a fact like that isn't really going to be relevant to current day Tyrell ambitions.
