Wof Headcanons

Part 1 = Icewings

my personal favorite tribe :]

icewings have antlers or tusks that they use in battle and in competitions

royal icewings have the biggest antlers/tusks out of all icewings and the throne is usually given to the daughter with the biggest antlers/tusks

they have ice sculpting competitions every year where each ice sculpture is presented in front of the queen and whoever wins gets their ranking raised to the Third Circle

they herd seals and walrus for their blubber and often have small ice enclosures to keep them in

the queen’s ranking is always first, the kings is second. her dragonets’ rankings can vary depending on the queen but are mostly not favored by the queen and are treated like any other dragonet

antler and tusk rings are popular among older dragonets

they often collect things like older coins and small trinkets and younger dragonets like to trade them

icewing fashion is does not consider practicality since they don’t go to battle that often anymore with the great ice cliff and the end of the sandwing war of succession. they wear elegant dresses and robes with royal blues and bright whites, but they are often itch or easy to trip over. males like to wear feathered necklaces that are hard to maintain and fancy shoes on their back talons that other tribes find ridiculous

i’m gonna talk about hidden kingdom a little cause i finished it

(Spoilers for WOF Book Three: The Hidden Kingdom)

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I love glory and it was fun to see her point of view of things. I love how they set up the rain wings as stupid and careless and that they prove glory right and how she decides to become queen by the end. I love all the tribe customs they have and how ridiculous they sound to everyone else, sun time honesty sounds amazing. I also like how they rainwings kinda preform photosynthesis, I think it’s really cool. I think my favorite character from this book is jambu. He’s so stupid and i find that funny. I also like tamarin. She doesn’t appear for long but she seems really sweet and i want to see more of her in the next book. I’m really interested in Deathbringer and the nightwings in general. They seem like a really interesting tribe and i’m excited to read dark secret to learn more about their plans. I picked up the graphic novel version of it at the library and i’m gonna go read that now, bye <33
