#allocishet people are not an oppressed minority group...
Text
I’m sure this has been said before, but I wish authors/screenwriters would understand that we’re not asking for representation, we’re asking for them to be realistic.
The chances of having more that 3 white, allocishet, neurotypical, and entirely able-bodied people in your main group of characters is astronomically low.  People have depression.  People have vision problems.  People are gay.  People’s skin comes in colors darker than tan.
On the flipside, having a group made up entirely of minorities isn’t “unrealistic” or “pandering”.  People who face oppression often clump together to protect themselves.  I’m mentally ill and pan and a lot of my friends are gay, mentally ill, or disabled in some way.  We relate to each other.
I know it’s not easy to write characters who aren’t like you. I understand that there are traits that you just don’t know how to write in a main character.  But if all of your characters look the same, it might be time to assess why.

full offense but i actually don’t give a fuck if you think that being at least decent to ppl who are part of an oppressive group but haven’t actually wronged you is a waste of time. you’re fucking wrong.
i don’t care if you think you can just insult ppl who are part of an oppressive group for no reason?? don’t call straight people gay as an insult. don’t harass people if they haven’t done anything.
you have no fucking advanced the rights of lgbtq+ people by insulting our allocishet allies ok?? you do not get to bully allies bc you’re fucking mad at their sexuality.
you don’t get to be rude to people who haven’t actually done something to you, no matter their position.
you do not advance any equality by being needlessly mean. in fact, you actually push progress backwards by assuming that everyone is your enemy.
fuck you for being mean just because you think your minority status lets you get away with it.
tl;rd: don’t be a dick even if someone is in a position of privilege unless they’re actively using it against you.
