I got a very sad idea. Is the Gatoraider Megatronus? He’s got a sword scar, Megatronus vanished mysteriously, there’s similarities to Trypticon, and not even Alpha Trion knows what happened to his Twin. I’m likely wrong, but…
youuuuuuuu make me VERY happy anon!!! picking up the bits and pieces i'm throwing out there, good job! keep looking, i have more secrets to hand out
you're incorrect, but you're close, Gatoraider is absolutely related to Megatronus, or perhaps derived from Megatronus, in a similar way to Trypticon. it's sort of a weird relation that's pretty contrived, and almost impossible to put together from an outside perspective, but...
let me put it this way. the Terminus Blade, taken from Megatronus, creates Trypticon out of Bludgeon. who says Bludgeon was the first to ever wield the Terminus Blade and become Trypticon? and what would happen to him if, having served his purpose as a Herald of Unicron and now to be discarded, his relic was taken from him? do you really think he'd survive looking like a normal mech? many of these relics were made from their original users after all, who's to say they don't continue to take? and, Gatoraider is unusually goopy for a metal creature. goopy and dead-ish, which is fitting, like it doesn't even have enough of itself to hold itself together by anything but spite. it looks like an amalgamate of multiple Trypticons, perhaps even dead Trypticons, don't you think? all it's missing is... the sword. the relic itself

Sunkissed
Relationship: Megatron/Optimus
Warnings: none
Words: 700 approx
Summary: it's a beautiful day to forget to wear sunscreen
Also on AO3
The sky above the Manganese Mountains was crystal clear that day. The sun was bright, the ground was warm, but the breeze that rustled metal leaves kept the air pleasantly cool. Mechanimals basked in the sun, and invertebytes buzzed lazily to and fro. It was a charming scene of peacetime paradise, and was enough to tempt many mecha outside.
But perhaps, after millennia of war, a few of them had forgotten to take certain precautions.
Megatron stepped into the living room of his little mountain cabin, and slowly closed the door behind him. But it was too late: he'd already been discovered.
"Shut up," Megatron muttered.
Optimus smirked over the top of his datapad. "I didn't say anything."
"I know what you want to say,” Megatron countered.
"Mm hm?"
"So don't say it!"
"Alright."
A moment of blissful silence, and then,
"You really should have worn sunsc-"
Megatron was not some pathetic weakling. He had walked off countless injuries that would have killed lesser mechs. He could weather anything from rusted wounds to spark viruses. Peacetime had not made him soft!
Megatron flung his hands in the air. "I knooow!"
So what if he'd fallen asleep outside at midday? So what if the heat had damaged the nanites on his back? So what if it made his paint bubble and itch? He was the Scourge of Kaon, Leader of the Decepitcons, the mighty Lord M-!
"Megatron," said Optimus, "are you going to let me put nanite gel on your back, or are you going to toss and turn all night while shedding paint flakes all over the berth?"
"Thank you," said Optimus, with fond exasperation. Behind him, Megatron heard the washrack cabinet open and the little tube of nanite gel twist open.
"Fine," Megatron grumbled, and went to sit on the little stool in the washrack.
The first gentle touch on his back made him bite back a hiss.
"It might sting a little," Optimus said belatedly.
"Just get on with it," Megatron growled.
"Of course," said Optimus.
He worked diligently, humming a tune under his breath. Megatron slowly started to relax – after the initial sting, the cooling sensation was pleasant, and Optimus had soothing servos.
“I’m glad you were able to sleep,” Optimus said after a moment. “I know peacetime has been challenging for you. As it has been for me.”
Megatron sighed slowly.
“It is not challenging,” he grumbled, “it’s the opposite of a challenge! That’s the problem.”
Optimus gave a little flick to the back of his helm. “You know what I mean.” He worked steadily downwards, massaging the gel into angry metal. “I sympathise with your restlessness.”
“I refuse to go soft,” said Megatron, staring at his hands.
Optimus paused for a moment. “Would that be so bad?” he mused, almost to himself. “We are at peace.”
Megatron smirked. “Then who would look after you?”
“Hey!”
Fortunately, Megatron’s helm was made of sterner stuff than his back, and everything from the waist down had been in the shade. Optimus was soon finished, putting the half empty tube away while Megatron got up and stretched. The plating on his back still felt somewhat tight, but it was no longer painful.
He turned to find Optimus looking at him oddly. “What?”
“How about a hike?” Optimus suggested.
“A hike,” Megatron said flatly.
Optimus’ audials drooped. “Well, we haven’t really explored around here, and I thought perhaps navigating a new environment and rough terrain would be something of a challenge, even if it isn’t combat oriented but–”
“A hike sounds splendid,” said Megatron, and Optimus perked up at once.
“We’ll need some supplies,” he said eagerly. “We should bring a med kit, some steel cord, I’ll download a map just in case–”
“–Energon, a light, a knife–” Megatron continued.
“Why a knife?” Optimus asked.
Megatron grinned. “We might have to fight an alloygator!”
“We will not,” said Optimus, as they left the washrack and started to pack, “we absolutely will not.”
As it turned out, he was right. The hike was completely unexciting.
But camping beneath the star filled sky on a tarp not covered in paint flakes, Optimus warm and rumbling against his side, Megatron decided peacetime might not be so bad after all.

Does Gatoraider ever transform into a can of Gatoraid?
Dear Energy Drinker,
No. He is in fact forbidden from adopting a canned beverage alternate form, following a legal dispute with a drinks manufacturer. He would have ignored the lawsuit—after all, he'd had the name for several million years, which he felt constituted "prior use"—but unfortunately for him, the corporation had been savvy enough to file their claims on Quintessa. Rather than go to trial, the browbeaten alloygator ultimately settled out of court by changing his name to Gatorface.

These red acid swamps are dangerous for any creature not born within them, the flow through the burning bayou would disintegrate typical cybertronian metal within seconds. The creatures that live within it are quite mean, massive alloygators with bad attitudes and giant retro-gar that would put the length of ones pirogue to shame, kineticatfish that would take your whole leg into their massive dens under the bank. This dark mech of course spent his entire life before the war in this acid, he was born from this place. Right now this red acid slowly flows against his thighs, swirling gracefully as it passed through his legs. He has been stalking patiently for almost over an hour now, black optics stared with relentless concentration as he watched for what looked like a giant log only a few feet under the surface to get still like him. Finally his time had come, the retro-gar coming to a halt to peacefully float in the shadow of a cyber-cypress, Thrailkill lunges forward as claws move to snatch it. Arms wrap about it as it thrashes in the acid, tossing scorching red rain everywhere around them and brings Thrail down with it. The cowboy submerges in the splashing bayou, boot shaped pedes sticking out was all that could be seen of him and finally when he pulled his knife and stuck it in the top of the massive fish's head the thrashing stopped and Thrail stood right to heave his catch up into his arms- it's body twitching every so often with reflex. Thrailkill beams at his dinner, a big sigh that turns into a silly little holler he then starts to wade his way back to the bank where he will sit down and enjoy his dinner, happy to share its guts with passing wildlife like him.

✨️ Out of the comments you’ve received on your fics, what are two or three of your favorites?
I think I have five official AO3 comments in total, and all of them were delightful in different ways - especially because they were also from writers whom I very much admire and having them say kind things was really unexpectedly joyful. (I went around on cloud 9 for about 24 hours after @megatron-fucks' comment, for example) But the nicest was actually here on tumblr, from @badautobot, because they said that I had been kind to their little guy in the way that they wanted.
💭 What inspires you and your writing?
Hypotheticals, maybe? Thinking about how things would work differently in Cybertronian terms, or how they would look if viewed from the outside.
🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
I had a go at this one here https://www.tumblr.com/jariktig/744093525770125312/hello-there-if-you-have-time-i-have-a-lot-of?source=share
but of the stuff that's actually out there, the Pharma/Ratchet one is more-or-less intentionally optimised for Instagram, and I'd love to see how either the very first scene or the alloygator-riding bit came out in some artist's head.

Avoiding Potholes and Road Debris
When it comes to protecting your alloy wheels from damage, one of the key things to keep in mind is avoiding potholes and road debris. These can cause scratches, dents, and other unsightly marks on your wheels. To minimize the risk, make sure to steer clear of potholes and drive cautiously over rough roads. Additionally, using wheel protectors can provide an extra layer of defense against potential damage. These protective covers are designed to shield your wheels from debris and can be easily installed and removed as needed.
Using Alloy Wheel Protectors
Using wheel protectors is a great way to safeguard your alloy wheels from potential damage. Protective covers such as Alloygator’s act as a barrier between your wheels and the road, reducing the risk of scratches, dents, and other forms of wear and tear. By investing in wheel protectors, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your wheels are well-protected.
Additionally, wheel protectors are easy to install and remove, making them a convenient option for those who want to maintain the look of their alloy wheels without much hassle. They are available in various sizes and 14 different designs, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your style and preferences.

Cleaning Your Wheels Regularly
Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining the look of your alloy wheels. It helps remove dirt, grime, and brake dust that can accumulate over time. By keeping your wheels clean, you can prevent corrosion and extend their lifespan. Here are some tips for cleaning your wheels:
Use a mild soap or wheel cleaner specifically designed for alloy wheels.
Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can damage the wheel’s finish.
Use a soft brush or sponge to gently scrub the wheels, paying attention to hard-to-reach areas.
Rinse the wheels thoroughly with clean water to remove any remaining soap or cleaner.
Dry the wheels with a clean microfiber cloth to prevent water spots. Apply a sealant that will keep the dirt and debris away from your wheels for longer.
Remember, regular cleaning is the key to keeping your alloy wheels looking their best!
Preventing Corrosion on Alloy Wheels

Applying a Protective Coating
Applying a protective coating is an essential step in maintaining the look of your alloy wheels. It helps to create a barrier between the wheels and external elements, preventing corrosion and damage. After cleaning your wheels, make sure to wipe wheels dry before applying the coating. This ensures that the coating adheres properly and provides maximum protection. Here are some key points to remember when applying a protective coating:
Avoiding Harsh Chemicals
When it comes to maintaining the look of your alloy wheels, one important aspect is avoiding harsh chemicals. These chemicals can cause damage to the protective coating on your wheels and lead to corrosion. To keep your wheels looking their best, it’s best to use gentle cleaning products that are specifically designed for alloy wheels. These products are formulated to remove dirt and grime without causing any harm to the wheels’ finish. By using the right cleaning products, you can prevent corrosion and extend the lifespan of your alloy wheels.
Removing Brake Dust
To keep your alloy wheels looking their best, it’s important to regularly remove brake dust. Brake dust can accumulate on your wheels and cause them to look dull and dirty. Here are some tips to help you effectively remove brake dust and maintain the shine of your alloy wheels:
Preventing corrosion on alloy wheels is crucial to maintaining their appearance and longevity. Corrosion can occur due to exposure to harsh weather conditions, road salt, and brake dust. To prevent corrosion, it is important to regularly clean and protect alloy wheels. This can be done by washing them with a mild soap and water, using a soft brush or sponge to remove dirt and grime. After cleaning, applying a protective coating or sealant can help to prevent corrosion. Additionally, avoiding harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners can also help to preserve the finish of alloy wheels. I’m starting a series of drawings of Cybertronic wildlife (aka mechanimals) as they would appear in the TFA universe. Some of these will be species that are present or have been mentioned in other parts of the Transformers universe but others will be my own interpretation of what other animals would look like on Cybertron. First is the Alloygator! Let me know if you are interested in me doing zoological profiles for each species I upload (behavior, biology, distribution, etc.).
