Been reading Delicate Condition to keep my mind off everything, mostly because I heard a season of AHS was based off it and I wanted to know if it was as much of a trainwreck.

It's actually a pretty decent thriller. The author's competent at descriptions and finding her character's voice, and for a book about pregnancy, I don't feel like it's shaming people who may not want biological children, or children at all.

I only watched season recaps on the AHS season, but I can tell you that it's missing the major themes of the book, and the casting was atrocious. Emma Roberts was not the choice for the main character at all.

#idk but to me the book is about the horror women face in aging #and how they struggle to find relevance post 40 (especially in how society expects them to he relevant #also about how afab people deal with a lot of gatekeeping in receiving medical treatment #and how they're treated like they're hysterical for noticing real problems in their own bodies that no one takes seriously #(the horror is a metaphor and blah blah blah)#Emma Roberts just feels too young to be an aging actor trying to find her place in the world
