friends and I dressed up for dnd movie last night and like 3 people in public filmed/took pictures of us :/
#we weren’t even dressed that weird :(#anyways I liked the movie it was fun.#like it wasn’t a masterpiece but I was entertained by it#I expected it to be garbage tbh so I was pleasantly surprised#I don’t know that I recommend it if you’re not a tabletop player just bc like#the plot itself and a lot of the characters are so very Tabletop Roleplaying Game Adventure#like it plays out exactly like a campaign#every few seconds I was like yeah that’s some shit we’d do#wasn’t rly hit by a lot of the emotional bits they wanted (ie chris pine’s fridged wife) but I did tear up near the end when (spoiler)#one of them died and I knew they were immediately gonna bring her back#but like. tbh they tried something??? with the trying to bring ur dead wife back from the dead??????#he told his daughter when apologizing smth like ‘I wasn’t trying to bring back your mom I was trying to bring back my wife’#‘because you never got the chance to know her’ idk yknow. they tried to#do something a little different. and the paladin npc they met was like ‘this plane of existence isn’t the only one#‘it might be a bad idea to take her from her new life and put her back in her old one’#idk idk idk. it’s like the generic ‘let the dead die’ thing but meh they tried to put a spin on it and that’s what matters#also chris pine and michelle rodrigues don’t fall in love thank fucking god
