guess who finished talia’s ref/propaganda post!
Tumblr media
talia is one of my oldest splat ocs (both in creation age [july 2016] and character age at 24) and honestly not much has changed about his design since i made her! the main difference is literally just some fun new piercings and a lgbt pass
@splatoonpolls :]
talia is 5’10” and the middle child in his family! he has one older sister (taller still, a firefighter named moselle) and one younger sister (ren, new ranked battler) and they all come from calamari county where they were primarily raised by their mother :]
he moved to inkopolis at 15 to get into turf + to try to meet the squid sisters since they’re from the same area! there, he met peri, and they became roommates for about a year before they started dating
talia is highly money motivated mostly because she wants to make sure ren and her mother especially can live an easy life. she also wants to do something good with her life like moselle, who she looks up to as a hero.
sooo after a couple of years turfing with peri (an e-liter main) and working part time at the crust bucket, grizzco opened and the two decided to check it out!
turns out they’re very good at it + get paid very well as a result so that quickly becomes their priority and are very consistently ranked at profreshional
talia believes he’s doing something good to help out both mr. grizz and inkadia so he’s happy
after a while, grizzco’s splatlands branch opened and the two were forcibly relocated invited to move to the splatlands to help out with egg retrieval and training, and subsequently hit eggsecutive vp with victoria and fiorello in their now complete quad
talia knows jacinthe (my agent 3) but at the moment he does not know anything about the true nature of grizzco.
talia is a very trusting person and will typically take whats in front of him at face value. as mentioned before, she’s very tall and is pretty loud/high energy, so can be unintentionally overbearing when meeting new people. he also has the worst name memory ever so will typically nickname everyone he meets to something he can easily remember (peri is a nickname! jury’s out if he remembers her actual name) such as eggs for victoria and safety for fiorello. however, talia is very afraid of being perceived as a rude person, so tries very hard to be seen as the opposite, typically with gifts. can be unexpectedly emotional—cried over clam mochi being different when homesick, whenever big man loses, etc
her favorite idol in the splatlands is big man because she feels like she relates the best to him (and often feels sorry for him). his favorite splatbands are diss pair and front roe, but feels no connection to squid squad.
splatfest wise, he will consider his favorite idol’s alignment first before his own preferences. ex. he’s terrified of ghosts but likely will be on big man’s team for splatoween
in my imagination, his tentacles are box braids in human form :]

Building the Future
Tumblr media
Finished all of the Priority ships in my Iron Blood fleet. It’s surprising how fast the last two PR developments went in comparison to the first two but I'm not complaining at all. All the ships that needed to be built, have been, and are in varying stages of leveling and enhancement. I have to say, though, getting these f*cking blue prints is for the birds! I’m going a a decent clip but I'd be lying if i said it wasn’t frustrating and a bit tedious, especially in regards to a very specific ship that i am so excruciatingly close to completing. Anyway, in celebration of my accomplishment, i wanted to revisit this Priority Ships and kind of express why i enjoy them so goddamn much.
Roon
Tumblr media
Roon was the first Priority ship i completed She was the first Priority ship that  i actually wanted. It was a whole ass grind to finish her off and i celebrated like it was Christmas and i was f*cking twelve years old! She’s the first PR ship i completely enhances, all the way through the whole Fate Simulation, all the way to level 120. It was arduous getting her there but well worth the effort because, holy sh*t, is Roon a f*cking powerhouse! She’s a front line mainstay in my main fleet and i don’t see her ever not being my main offensive weapon. She’s just that goddamn good. So far, she is my favorite of the PR ships and, if I'm honest with myself, probably my second favorite Iron Blood ship, after my darling Eugen, of course. Admittedly, that’s an assumption from an incomplete pool as i don’t have any of the Inverted Orthant ships. Yet. Please believe i am all over that rerun when it comes back around.
Friedrich der Grosse
Tumblr media
Friedrich is a whole ass frustration for me. She was the second PR ship i completed and the fourth Ultra Rare in my collection. I was able to retrofit San Diego and Warspite fairly early on, plus i got lucky enough to roll a couple of Shinano so i was well aware of the explosive potential of those iridescent ships. Friedrich definitely lived up to her rarity. She’s a goddamn beast when you add her to your fleet and even more so just to construct her. Like, holy sh*t, was this a slog! It took forever to just complete her construction and even longer to max out to 120. That was a whole process and I'm STILL trying to collect f*cking blueprints to finish her Enhancement! I am so close and the Research just ain’t coming. She’s stalled at level twenty-five. Five away from the Fate Simulation. Five away from having an absolute unit. Don’t misunderstand, Friedrich is a total beast as she is now but i want so badly to complete her.
Mainz
Tumblr media
Oh, Mainz. I have so many complicated feelings about her. She was the second of the PR three i constructed so the process of leveling her up is still in progress. All of the PR three and Four ships are currently on that level up grind. Mainz is the farthest along, sitting at a respectable level 59. That’s a bit low, i know, but i actually miscalculated and built Odin first. I wanted another strong Main ship to go alongside my Graf Zeppelin and Friedrich but misread the specs on Odin. It was a frustration at the time, more because Odin wasn’t part of the plan at that point, but it all worked out. Mainz was worth the wait. I’m still grinding her Blueprints, too, but they are coming pretty quick. She’s already reached a level eighteen Enhancement and is on pace to be the second of my ships to complete the Fate Simulation. That sh*t chaps my ass a little bit because, you know, Friedrich.
Odin
Tumblr media
Odin was a happy accident. I wanted Mainz because i needed a rear line ship but i misread the stats and started Odin instead. She Constructed fairly fast or, at least, he grind wasn’t near as hard as i remember. Odin was the third Priority ship i actually developed and coming of those first two builds, Roon and Friedrich, she was downright pleasant to build. I already had a lot of the materials on hand so all i needed was the experience. That sh*t came fast and it came furious. Odin was the fasted PR ship I've completed so far. I don’t know what the future holds, but as of right now, she holds that record. She’s also the third strongest PR ship in my fleet at a rather high 73. She’s been fun to level and experiment with. I run her on some of the lower level Campaigns just to experiment. She’s a dynamo and i really can’t wait to get her. Plus, i mean, i just love her look.
August von Parseval
Tumblr media
August is the rare necessity for my fleet. There aren’t many Carriers in Iron Blood, I mean, now there are no, two of the Inverted Orthant boats fill that role, but i missed that event by a matter of days. When i came back after my hiatus, the only Carrier i had was Zeppelin. I missed the Zeppy event but, even then, i would have put her into a secondary fleet because she’s only an Elite ship. I need that Super Rare and Ultra Rare beef in my main Fleet. Fortunately for me, August is a carrier, another Super Rare, and a pretty strong one at that. I still definitely prefer Zeppelin but that’s just personal bias. I am aware that each ship has different strengths and different weaknesses but it kind of doesn’t matter. I have another Iron Blood Carrier. I recently finished her development so we are still incredibly early in the enhancement process. I mean, she’s only at level 31 so I'm literally just getting started with her. She’s got promising potential, though, so I'm looking forward to her completion.
Aegir
Tumblr media
Aegir is the whole reason i wanted to revisit my Priority Ships in the first place. I finished her construction today and was pleasantly surprised by the fact she’s an Ultra Rare. That was a legitimate surprise, especially considering she’s a Vanguard ship. The only other Ultra Rare Vanguard i have is San Diego. I don’t know if there are anymore, there’s a few in the Development pool, but i don’t really care. I main Iron Blood and i have both of their URs. Aegir is fresh developed so her current level is only 3 but, best believe, I'm going to go hard at building her into  a proper beast. Her Blueprints are laughably slow to come, just like f*cking Friedrich, but this will definitely be labor of love. I need my second Iron Blooded Iridescent to be as strong as possible, as quickly as possible.
