STATIC & SPECTER

Static and Specter are a frankenstein monster/scientist idol duo. Specter is really a zombie, and really was brought back to life by Static with the power of the big zapfish. It caused a power outage. Specter came from the Deep Sea Metro and was actually one of Tartar's subjects, and would've passed, but she was such an asshole he just decided to cut her up into little tiny pieces and throw her out a chute instead into the streets because he worried if he actually got her in there she'd make everyone else assholes too.

TALIA

Talia (age 24 (~16 in splat1), pronouns he/her) is from Calamari County! Her family consists of her mother, her older sister Moselle (28, a firefighter) that she looks up to a lot, and her younger sister Ren (18). He originally moved to Inkopolis to make a living as a pro battler, which he did for a few years with his roommate turned girlfriend Peri, maining both Dynamos depending on the kits given. Then Grizzco opened for business, and it turned out that they paid pretty well all things considered, and that they were both *really* good at it. (They also thought it was fun for the most part) Since they were consistently hitting the upper ranks of Profreshional, when Grizzco expanded to the Splatlands the pair were invited to relocate as Eggsecutive VPs to help support the branch and to help train up some new recruits. That's how Victoria (Eggs) and Fiorello (Safety) ended up joining them :] Speaking of nicknames, Talia has the worst name memory in the world and has a lot of trouble remembering the names of people and occasionally objects, so he gives them a nickname she remembers a lot better. (Peri is a nickname! But sometimes Talia falls back on pet names until he remembers either her nickname or actual name) He is very worried that he comes across as rude for it (or anything in general) so tries to be as friendly as possible. He was the one that gave Safety the life preserver gear as a gift! Talia is a huge fan of Big Man (finds that he relates to him the most) and did cry when he lost the leader splatfest :( Also cried when he was homesick and tried to get her favorite dish, clam mochi, at a Splatlands restaurant which turned out as you would expect. His favorite splatband is Sashimori. Talia is friends with my Agent 3, but does not know the truth about Grizzco.

here's the entourage!

toadette (L) and toadiko (R) have worked with princess peach for some time (since their teens) to learn her mannerisms/the ways of royalty and are both qualified to act as her replacement via super crown! :^)

for example, in superstar saga, toadette was the one acting as peach when cackletta came to steal her voice, and toadiko replaced her in smrpg so that peach could help restore star road 👍🏽

toadette most often takes over for social affairs and toadiko for more serious things, but it isn't always set in stone

as peach's replacements, they have entered a vim pact with her which allows them to imitate her appearance so well. this also allows peach to lend them her magic in a pinch, and they both know how to use it well

peach loves them dearly and generally sees them as sisters :]

i realized after i posted that i forgot to mention here outside of the alt text but i gave toads tails now! :^)

it’s just a simple thin tail with a mushroom matching their cap at the end

they lose the tail in super crown form so peach has adapted an odd way of walking in toad form to adapt (in that her tail is often wrapped around or is close to her legs) + her tail remains inside her dress

toadiko walks similarly at times but for the most part she and toadette use their tails in their gait

i have an exam this week so jury’s out on if i’ll draw it but i think geno immediately knew that the handmaid sent in the princess’s stead was the princess herself. i’m not sure who takes who aside but she does beg geno to keep his trap shut about it and it works 🙏🏽

toads are capable of magic but very very few are to the strength/caliber of the princess so when the others question it she explains that the princess lent her magic (technically something she can do but only with toadette and toadiko) and that keeps her out of suspicion for the most part

your peach au, I have another question!

Would the use of the crown affect her self esteem? Everyone sees her as this beautiful human princess, and comments on it constantly. Bowser himself is always praising her beauty in the games. When she takes it off in private, does she feel different? I wonder if it would affect her view of love and trust, or give her anxiety to be herself.

this is actually really funny bc i just drew this last night to be funny but it fits really well with your ask:

yes, i would think so!

peach is really only permitted to be Crownless inside the castle, so it is only the staff that sees her true self. because of how much she uses it, she very rarely perceives herself as her toad form, even in dreams, so I believe she does have those moments where it all sorta comes crashing down and everything about her feels fake.

this definitely flares up when her supposed difference is emphasized, especially with the bros. after all, they miss earth, but she still manages to be an outsider to their memories and customs.

those that she loves and trusts the most are also those that have seen her true form, so when cultivating new relationships like with the bros and daisy (who she only met at her debutante) she finds it very hard to be as open with them as they are with her, and feels like she is constantly lying even when telling the truth. once they do find out, her stress and anxiety goes down exponentially, but she can't possibly do that with everyone she meets.

to the toad standard she is beautiful and I'm sure the staff tell her this before meetings where she is Crownless (with peasley and maybe her parliament) but compared to the magnitude of her human compliments it feels insignificant. toads are often described as weak, and I imagine that at times a compliment to her beauty comes with a toad insult at its heels which only make her paradoxical feelings stronger. she does feel weaker and vulnerable in this form to the point where she is visibly much more anxious in public in that form (but ofc will always defend her toads).

wait i said this twice without explaining when he does.

in super mario rpg, after she returns to her castle, she rejoins the party in her toad form. she is publicly known as princess toadstool, on account of me really liking the concept of name magic in the mushroom kingdom, so when she joins the party she introduces herself as ‘peach, one of princess’s closest handmaids sent as an extension of her highness’ but doesn’t give much backstory when asked.

i don’t think mario knows that’s her true form at that time, but does know that peach has several handmaids so he doesn’t question it much

i am still playing through the game but i got to the point where peach joins for real, and since she’s already sneaking around at that point i think it fits well. unfortunately i don’t think it would be as dramatic in the au 💔 but you never know

For the toad peach au, does Bowser know what her real form looks like? Would he even still love her if she showed him her true toad form?

he has seen it once but does not know that it’s her since she lied about her identity at the time. kind of like a chippy situation 👍🏽

considering the elephant short i want to say yes, he would, but peach has had the dangers drilled into her for so long that isn’t something she wants to entertain and she personally doesn’t think would happen.

there’s also the issue of lying to him which he would likely take very seriously (though she’s ofc lied before, just not about something of this magnitude)
