I’m going to be too busy this weekend, but I want to try and change up my tags a bit soon. I’m thinking of adding tags for platonic/familial relationships, ie #s/nic-and-t/ils (dashed to avoid this post appearing in tags); and I’ll be adding a #food tag and some based on seasons (#summer or #winter).

Including a #food tag is something I had thought of doing since I originally organized my blog archive, because I noticed a lot of food in fanarts, and I hope that by making it a tag this blog can become more accessible to people with ED or who may have some anxieties/insecurities related to food.

I’ll start incorporating these new tags, but the rest of the archive won’t be updated until I get a chance to focus on it. My family is also in the process of moving soon, so I hope that it won’t take up too much time; I really want to keep this archive more organized than my main blog which is just a mess lol.

Prompt: your current OTP + a fish (alive).

Paolo looks from clear blue sky to the hissing waves to Italia standing defiantly in front of him, fists on her hips, one clenched around a bucket.

"I want to see the fish," she declares.

A good father would indulge his daughter. A good father would shrug off a childhood fear of water. A good father would take his daughter's hand and lead her happily down to the shallows which are, Saar has informed them, teeming with silvery fish.

"Angel, I don't think -"

Italia stomps her foot. At four, she's got the tantrum performance down to a fine art. "I want to see the fish!"

Paolo glances at the open sea again and blanches.

"Come on then." Daan hops up from his towel, sunglasses perched jauntily on his nose as he offers his hand to Italia. "We'll go see the fish and then maybe get ice cream?"

"Yeah! Ice cream!"

They scurry down to the waves, little more than a, "Back soon!" drifting behind them. Paolo watches like a hawk. He trusts Daan with his life. He trusts Daan with Italia's life. He doesn't quite trust the sea.

He relaxes by increments, though, watching Italia prancing through the waves, following behind Daan as he points out creatures under the surface. Daan always keeps a close eye on Italia, hoisting her out of the path of the bigger waves - to her shrieking delight - and doting on her as she thrusts her bucket at him with all the imperious demand of an empress.

And it strikes him now, as it does occasionally, the relief at not being alone. He doesn't have to be mother, father, disciplinarian and playmate all at once. Nor is he burdened with guilt at saddling someone with the responsibility of Italia, in all her willful wonder. Daan chose to be this involved, chose to welcome and encourage Italia's affection. Chose to be Paolo's partner in whatever life throws at them next.

After ten minutes, Italia is cold and wet and grinning from ear to ear as she hurries up the beach, water slopping out of her bucket. "Papa! Look what I caught!" She stumbles the last metre, kicking sand over their towels. Saar graciously doesn't say anything as she knocks a small damp clump from her leg.

"Let's see this fish then." Paolo takes the bucket in hand before its contents also end up over Saar; he doubts she would be as forgiving of that.

Inside is a single fish, small and silver, seemingly unperturbed at its change of habitat. "Very pretty, angel. Well done for catching it!"

Italia grins, hopping from foot to foot. Her lips have started to turn blue: it's a warm day but she's wet through and skinny as a rake, vulnerable to the wind whipping off the water. "What will you call it?" he asks, a distraction while he wraps her up in a towel, chafing her arms to get some warmth into them.

"Umm. Broccoli."

It's as good a name as any, as far as Paolo is concerned.

He looks up from drying Italia's hair as Daan approaches. "Time for ice cream?"

In Paolo's lap, Italia is shivering. "Maybe later," he says.

Shrugging amiably, Daan flops down next to Paolo, hand resting on his knee. Paolo closes his eyes just to feel the warmth surrounding him, sun and skin and love.

"I wish we could stay here forever," Italia sighs, wistful.

"Me too, angel." Paolo is already thinking of the right time to slip Broccoli back into the water without causing untold drama. These perfect moments aren't meant to last, but it makes it all the sweeter to mark them, scribe them indelibly in the mind.

He's more certain nowadays that there are more to come.

Prompt: Nicky explains to Joe why he shaved his head.

1986 and change is in the air. It’s Joe’s job to collect Andy from the airport, navigating their way through past every security checkpoint using only his innate charm and Booker’s frankly atrocious ID forgery.

"What's the terrain?" Andy asks, mouth full of trail mix smuggled over from the States.

"Queer punk scene seems a good place to start," Joe says.

"You'll never get the piercings to pass. You and that earring in Jamaica, remember? 1660s? 70s?"

"How could I forget. Blood everywhere." Joe had so wanted the hoops: so audacious, so piratical. He's still a little bitter about it now. "But Nicky says he's got an idea."

"Bake them something?" Andy might be aiming for sarcastic but Joe can hear the fondness, not to mention interest: she's been away on 'business' for a few weeks now, and has definitely missed Nicky's cooking.

"He said we would see when we got back. I think he's dug up some old leathers from somewhere."

When Joe raps his knuckles against the door in their signature code for Wednesdays, Booker opens it with his eyes wider than normal.

"You okay?" Joe asks, immediately on alert. "Something happened?"

Booker shakes his head. "No, everything's fine. Hey boss."

"Hey yourself. You gonna stand in the doorway the whole afternoon?"

Mutely, Booker moves aside, closing the door with a quiet noise behind them. "He's nearly finished," he says cryptically.

Joe is still a little cautious from Booker's peculiar greeting, but he perks up at the mere mention of Nicky. "Oh yeah? He in the bedroom?"

"Bathroom."

Joe heads that way now that Andy is reunited with Booker, already asking for "some goddamn real liquor, Booker."

At the closed bathroom door, he knocks the special rhythm that's only for him and Nicky.

"Just a second, Joe."

Unusual. Normally Nicky would grant immediate access. But maybe he wants to surprise Joe with something. Joe likes surprises, and Nicky likes to do things that Joe likes.

"I'll be in our room," he says. When he turns to leave, he thinks he can hear the slosh of a razor shaken through water.

Five minutes later, having thoroughly exhausted the ceiling for entertainment, Joe sits up on the bed when he hears the bathroom door open, footsteps treading along the corridor.

"Joe?"

"I'm here."

Nicky turns the corner and Joe's breath stops in his lungs.

"Your hair!"

Nicky's hand lifts to his head, scuffing over the bald scalp. "Yes."

"It's gone!" Redundant to even say it, but Joe can't think of a time in nearly a thousand years where Nicky has ever been hairless. And for these past two decades, Joe has been the lucky beneficiary of the floppy-haired styles of the hippies, has spent days of his life carding his fingers through Nicky's long locks.

Nicky sits beside Joe on the bed, hands in his lap. He still has the moustache, bizarrely; it lends him a serious, almost sinister air.

Until, of course, he smiles the special smile that's just for Joe, like he is fondly enamoured of whatever Joe is doing right now.

Right now, he is staring. He can't help it.

"I know it's a big adjustment," Nicky says, skating his palm over his head again, "but it's just until we are integrated. It will grow back again quick enough."

Curious, Joe lifts his hand, rests it on the vulnerable dome of Nicky's shorn head. It's white almost like bone, which makes his spine shiver, but when he strokes his hand down to Nicky's neck, it makes a pleasant rasping sound that reminds him of sweaty nights, Nicky feasting on Joe under the sheets, hours spent writhing under his stubbled mouth.

Joe tugs Nicky in closer, raises his head so he can kiss the new skin. To think, after all these centuries, there is here in front of him a part of Nicky he has never kissed before.

When his eyes drop to Nicky's face, Nicky reads him like the open book he is, and grins amused. "Or I can keep it short, if you prefer."

How lucky Joe is, to be the beneficiary of Berlin's blossoming punk scene.

Prompts yay! Can I have some Daaolo or Kaysanova with a side of domesticity? Maybe some household chores? Here’s a pic of my pets as payment.

“One day, do you think they will invent a contraption that prevents dust?” Joe asks, squinting at the three bands of white sunlight through the windows, each illuminating a storm of dust rioting throughout the room.

All he had done was pull a fitted sheet off the couch with a bit too much gusto. Now the air is clogged with millions of particles, and difficult to breathe.

“No, my love,” Nicky says. “They have invented microwave ovens and space rockets and supersonic flight, but I don’t think they will ever stop dust.”

Joe nods sadly. “Humanity’s great burden.”

Like handing over a sword before battle, Nicky solemnly passes Joe the broom. Joe salutes him. Then, like schoolboys, they grin at their shared absurdity.

A quarter of an hour later, Joe has checked his watch every minute. He’s convinced time is slowing down. Nicky never seems to have any problem with his attention, just doggedly plows through all the cleaning that needs to be done before the space is livable.

But Joe is intolerably bored. Worse, he has an earworm, the same chorus looping around in his head, and it’s not even a song he likes.

After probably Joe’s twentieth heartfelt sigh, Nicky looks down from the ladder where he is changing lightbulbs. “Bored, my love? I can finish if you want to go do something else,” he offers. “I know this isn’t your idea of a good time.”

Joe melts, comes to stand with a hand around Nicky’s ankle, smiling besotted up at him.

Nicky glances down for a moment from his fiddly task. “Maybe your oil pastels have survived the years?”

“I would never leave you to battle alone,” Joe says. “Even against dust.”

“My hero.”

Joe presses a kiss to Nicky’s Achille’s heel. If it were the only place on Nicky’s body where he was vulnerable, Joe would guard it with his life.

“Put some music on, then,” Nicky suggests. “All chores go faster with a song.”

Joe pouts. “Radio’s broken. I already checked. The mice have been at the wires.”

The last bulb clips into place. Joe holds the ladder steady for Nicky to climb down straight into his arms. A long, soft hug, his face tucked into the curve of Nicky’s neck, and a lot of the itchy need for stimulation suddenly calms.

A minute later, more settled, Joe pulls back. Nicky pecks a kiss on the tip of his nose. “I’ll sing for you, then.”

Joe brightens. “Yeah?”

“Yes. Come, let’s finish this together.”

So Nicky sings - an old, old traveling song, then an old, old washing song, and the more he sings the more Joe remembers those shared days - and together, they make the house a home.

Okay so obviously I am losing my mind about the costume test video. (Charlize in those boots holy shit I am too bi for this.) But I want to talk about Nicky because, of all of them, he's the one whose costume test did not make it into the film.

Like, this is Marwan/Joe:

I can absolutely picture him kissing his necklace and then winking at Nicky just like he did in Goussainville. That costume is exactly what he wore on screen. This is Joe, fully fleshed out. (Also, Marwan stripping added years to my life nnnggghhhh I am too bi for this movie.)

But then there's Nicky:

Soldier's pose. Leather jacket. Spiky hair. None of these things made it into the movie, which I find absolutely fascinating because they were still discovering this character, still fleshing him out. This costume doesn't read as "the least armoured" one who is "the heart of the team". This character reads as a brawler.

Compare:

Soft hair. Soft jacket. Soft shoulders. This is the Nicky who made it to screen. The heart of the group. The least armoured.

It's amazing to me to see the evolution of a character and I REALLY want to see the chemistry test footage to see how different the characters (read: Nicky, because Joe was set from the start) were.

Hellow ! Bonne chance à tout pour 2021 ( Comment ça je suis pessimiste ? ) ! Enfin, premier dessin de cette nouvelle année ! Il s'agit d'un fanart du dessin animé pour adulte Hazbin Hotel créer par Vivziepop disponible sur YouTube en anglais, français et même japonais pour ceux qui veulent. J'ai eu un coup de coeur pour cet univers décalé et haut en couleur ( et super vulgaire ahah ! ), tout comme une bonne amie à moi. Les deux personnages à gauche et à droite sont d'ailleurs ses OC's, je vous les présente un peu plus bas, la mienne viendra prochainement. Du coup, au centre, nous avons Alastor, aussi appelé le Démon de la Radio dans la série. Un Overlord qui en fait trembler plus d'un et mais qu'on adore ( en tout cas nous ) quand-même ! C'était un présentateur radio et un tueur en série originaire de La Nouvelle-Orléans.

Maintenant passons aux OC's de ma pote et ne me jugez pas pour les prénoms, c'est pas moi qui ait choisi ! ( Je sais pas si c'est drôle ou désespérant. )

À gauche, il s'agit de Réglisse, c'est une Overlord comme Alastor et qui quand elle était humaine était également une tueuse en série particulièrement prolifique. Elle est pansexuelle et en couple avec Vanille, elle est la patronne d'un donjon BDSM appeler « Halloween's Queen ». Et malgré qu'elle soit en couple, elle a un énorme coup de coeur pour Alastor également. Et c'est une bonne amie de Angel Dust également. Ensuite, Vanille donc ! C'est une stylise androgyne particulièrement jolie qui attire beaucoup le regard. Elle n'est pas très très bavarde avec les gens qu'elle ne connait pas et toujours très propre sur elle. Par le passé, c'était une couturière qui a assassiné toute sa famille pour une raison qu'elle n'a pas dévoilé. Elle est également pansexuelle comme Réglisse. Elle connait Alastor comme quasiment tout le monde en enfer, mais elle ne sait pas trop quoi penser de lui et l'espèce d'obsession de sa petite-amie pour ce démon la dépasse quelques peu. — Hellow! ( I don't know if it's funny or hopeless. ) On the left, it's Réglisse, it's an Overlord like Alastor and who when she was human was also a particularly prolific serial killer. She is a pansexual couple with Vanille, she is the patron of a BDSM dungeon called "Halloween's Queen". And despite being a couple, she has a huge crush on Alastor too. And she's a good friend of Angel Dust, too. Then Vanille! It is a particularly pretty androgynous style that attracts a lot of attention. She's not very talkative with people she doesn't know and always very clean about her. In the past, she was a seamstress who murdered her entire family for a reason she didn't disclose. She is also pansexual like Licorice. She knows Alastor like almost everyone else in hell, but she doesn't really know what to think of him and her girlfriend's obsession with this demon is a little beyond her.

Ho saputo finalmente ammazzano Cards Unbound dopo che hanno dovuto ricollocare Hi Rez Chris da smite a paladins per fare damage control dopo la rivolta delle fanart su reddit e mettono un sistema totalmente F2P. Mi sa che mi tocca tornare su paladins allora. Quanti campioni mi sono perso? Ho lasciato attorno ad un'era penso.

Hai saputo bene. Per copiaincollare citare la parte interessata:

CARDS UNBOUND

Let’s start first with the elephant in the room: Cards Unbound.

Looking solely at the metrics, the Cards Unbound system introduced in OB64 has actually been successful in increasing our overall player engagement and new user conversion, while at the same time helping increase our revenue per player.  

However, we are not blind (although some of the recent MSPaint troll posts on the Paladins reddit have perhaps made us wish we were - lol).

We know this system has angered many of our most loyal fans and become a point of continuous contention in the Paladins community (and even inside of Hi-Rez). Your voice has been heard loud and clear.

Our team will be working over the next major release cycle to remove Cards Unbound from the game. We will be replacing it with a new system that I believe the community will be really excited about -- including the re-introduction of the deck building point system, and a method for obtaining cards that will be way less grindy.

We want the focal point of the card system in Paladins to be about fun ways to customize your champion to your favored playstyle.  We also want to unify the COMPETITIVE and CASUAL experiences with the card system so that we use the same system for both (no more separation of bound vs unbound).

We are still working out the details of the new system, but the rough outline of our current thinking is as follows (NOTE: Subject to some change, but hopefully this communicates the general direction we want to head):

Legendary Cards will now be called Talents.

Talents will only have a single level.

Talents will be unlocked for free by earning XP and gaining Champion levels (for example; level 1,5,10,15).

All Champion Cards will now be free (No cost or grind).

Deck creation will return to a point system where players can distribute 15 points across the five cards they select for their loadout. Each Champion Card will have five ranks to choose from.

Talents will not have ranks, and are not included in the loadout point cap.

Talents and Decks will continue to be chosen at match start to allow players to tailor their playstyles based on their opponents.

New Talents will be added over time and give further varied playstyles.

Champion Mastery will no longer be capped at level 25. Instead, it will work similarly to Player Account leveling (which has no cap).

Card chests will be removed from the game.

We are evaluating the best options to compensate players for their previously earned cards, and hope to share details soon.

The release plan is to start testing this new system as soon as we can on PTS (hopefully, next week).  Your analysis and participation will be very important over the next few weeks as we work the kinks out of this design and deliver the best possible product to you in the next update.
