Also I will take it very personally if Zoya/Nikolai moments are repurposed for things that don’t involve their own relationship (aka give their lines to other people or something equally stupid lmaoo). Like use them in a new context since the KoS/RoW plot is going to be hella different anyway (and the same thing already happened to Kanej) but the writers are going to have to try really hard to convince me that they care about her and their dynamics + what makes it compelling.

Tbh I'm kinda hopeful about their interactions and relationship for whatever reason. But it is true that they mixed up a lot of SoC moments into this plot which made them lose impact and the writing didn't particularly flatter Nikolai, Inej or even Kaz. The writers are so much more focused making the plot rapid and bingeable than the characters and Zoya is just a particular victim because of this, but also because Sujaya wasn't as avialable as she was last season (although her writing in season 1 was also very questionable). And it's also true that they already fucked up my 2nik for......quick and easy character development??? or something???? Honestly I can't tell you WHY I'm hopeful I guess I just want to see Nikolai and Zoya interact on screen. Regardless.....I guess I'll always have my own imagination and AO3.
