Sunbathing Ada, love how well you can see her blue wings here! 😍 @homeofhousechickens do you know what color she is? She’s like the basic EE pattern but blue right?

I promise I'll answer your asks as soon as I can, but I offer a fashion ask for the Dragon AU.
Fleur, as one can imagine, wore royal clothes when she was abducted. And as the days went by, her dress (the only one she had might I add. It's not like Smartaz took some clothes for her 😅) became more dirty and torn. I can imagine her wearing this kind of dress, with the long flowing sleeves and skirt- that would be very inconvenient to wear in a jagged, nearly destroyed castle 😅 I think maybe the dress could be ivory like the first image. But I Associate Ben with blue, so maybe she would wear blue to point to her binding to him?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, after she becomes an official member of the Dragon family, or just when Smartaz starts to care about her more and even brings her back things from raides- regardless if she asked or not- thats when Fleur gains a new wardrobe. She exchanges the royal garb for something more simple, now. Like what Aurora wore in Sleeping Beauty. I can see it being mainly white or ivory, now. To signify Fleur's independence from her husband now and gaining her own color.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, I've also been thinking about the room that Smartaz gives her possibly being an old bedroom. With a wardrobe with dusty clothes that she could wear. And since this is a ccastle, they could be clothes of the former queen or princess too. So maybe Fleur would still wear high-class clothes. Before Smartaz brought her clothes and she had nothing else to wear other than her old dress, or maybe even when her current wardrobe needs washing. What do you think?
Now, Katherine! We need to talk about her in this AU more. She's your character so I can't say for certain what she'd wear, but I can see her in these dresses (except maybe the shoulders aren't exposed in the second picture)! More simple/lower class than Poppy's old dress, but it allows Katherine more movement. And besides, it's just perfect for an adventurous fantasy heroine ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
//Ooooh you have her colour scheme and style down so well!
I love your use of colour symbolism for Fleur's dresses she goes from a rich blue (having rank) to a white/ivory (having no ties to anyone) it's really clever!
It's funny I've actually been drawing Kitty in medieval clothing recently!
Personally I see Kitty in mostly peasant dresses of the time that she's able to work/do leisure in. When the dragons capture her they probably get singed or torn at the corners. I can only imagine Poppy being picked up like a ragdoll by dragon teeth 😆
Katherine grew up in the court and didn't have to want for much but I can see her wearing clothes that keep a low profile when she's out so she isn't followed or bothered. She also keeps a dagger for protection but doesn't want to have to use it. She would wear these clothes at the start of the story, then offhand make a comment that she doesn't wear much finery and then after they grow closer the dragons steal a dress for her on one of their raids.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's either wine red, deep purple or ocean blue. Something that brings out Katherine's hair and eyes and matches her personality. Needless to say as an aspiring scholar who's trying to prove herself just as good as any high class lady, she's less than pleased with the thievary...but the gowns are gorgeous and it was thoughtful of them. Besides, she's no stranger to foraging for food when out of the grounds of the house, this is their strange way of doing the same.
Tumblr media
I can also see her wearing styles similar to Princess Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron or Princess Merida from Brave. Sonething nice, but free for movement which allows her to run if needed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, towards the end of her arc when she needs to fight the dark sorcerer I can see her wearing armour like this.

underrated SFF books (YA and Adult)
So uhm, since I keep seeing the same books on my dash all the time (and I like them too, just...there’s more! to read!) here’s a list of less popular SFF books, divided into YA and Adult. I’ve tried to mention when there is lgbt rep and the trigger warnings. Also, books written by poc will be in bold. Please point out any typo or mistake or if I’ve forgotten specific rep/tw mentions.
All of these are books that I’ve read and enjoyed (by enjoyed I mean anything from 3 stars and above), but if anyone wants to add titles please feel free to do so!!
YA:
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi: beautifully written, fairytale-like story rich in mythology (inspired by several Hindu myths. There’s a full list on goodreads indicated by the author herself). Roshani’s prose is gorgeous.
A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi: it’s a companion novel to The Star-Touched Queen, but both can be read as a standalone. I liked this one more than its companion and I particularly loved how the romance was written (slow burn, but specifically, the author really highlights the mutual respect between the characters, we love to see it).
The Young Elites by Marie Lu: fantasy trilogy set in a world inspired by Renaissance Italy, in which children who survived a mysterious and deadly illness ended up with strange and dangerous powers. Secret societies and a female villain!
The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu: historical fantasy following Mozart’s sister, Nannerl, a girl as talented as her brother, but afraid of being forgotten because of the lack of opportunities she has to be seen and heard. Nuanced sibling relationship, no romance.
The Midnight Lie by Marie Rutkoski: fantasy f/f romance! Both a coming of age story set in a society with a rigid class system and a slow burn f/f romance with a lot of banter. TW: abuse.
The Weight of Feathers by Anna-Marie McLemore: magical realism. The book follows two families of traveling performers that have been locked in a feud for over a generation. This was the author’s debut and I remember getting an arc of it and being impressed by both the prose and how the forbidden love trope was handled.
When the Moon was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore: another magical realism novel. One of the main characters is a trans boy and the book focuses on issues of racism and gender. One of my favorite YA!
Strange Grace by Tessa Gratton: fantasy romance set in a village that periodically sacrifices a young man in order to keep a deal with the devil that ensures their prosperity. Also, polyamorous and non-binary rep.
The Rise of Kyoshi by F.C. Yee: first book in a duology following avatar Kyoshi’s life. It explores the political and cultural aspect of the Earth Kingdom and Kyoshi’s past. Bisexual rep.
Descendant of the Crane by Joan He: sort of a murder mystery fantasy, as the main character finds herself suddenly thrust into power once her father has been murdered. The story has a slow build up to a last part full of twists and machinations and it features lots of court intrigue. Warning: the ending is quite open and afaik there isn’t a sequel planned as of now.
The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones: a quite unique take on zombies influenced by Welsh mythology (it’s super cool). The novel follows Ryn and their siblings, as they try to get by after their parents’ death by working as gravediggers. Only well, the dead don’t always stay dead. The characters read a bit younger than they are imo. There is chronic pain rep.
The Magnolia Sword by Sherry Thomas: retelling of the original ballad of Mulan. The book follows Mulan, who’s trained her whole life to win a duel for a priceless heirloom, as she joins the army. There’s a lot of political and historical details, which I really appreciated. Do not go into it expecting a fun adventure though. The descriptions of war aren’t extremely graphic, but be aware of the fact that most of the book is set during a conflict.
The Candle and The Flame by Nafiza Azad: standalone fantasy set in a city on the Silk Road! It’s a quite slow-paced tale about love, family and politics. It has lush descriptions of landscapes and cultures (and FOOD, there are some really great descriptions of food). It’s a very atmospheric book and while I struggled a bit with the pace I’d still recommend it.
Forest of a Thousand Lanters by Julie C. Dao: sort of an East Asian inspired retelling of Snow White, but following the Evil Queen before she became Snow White’s stepmother. I honestly haven’t read its sequel (which should focus on Snow White herself), but I do think this can be read and enjoyed as a standalone too.
The Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner: it’s hard to point out exactly what this series is about because it has evolved so much with time. It starts out as classic quest/adventure series with The Thief (which may seem a classic and simple book, but is actually full of foreshadowing and has a really clever set up), but develops into a complex and intriguing political fantasy in The Queen of Attolia and The King of Attolia (and then goes back to the quest theme in book 5, Thick as Thieves).
Adult:
A Fist of Permutations in Lightning and Wildflowers by Alyssa Wong: I’m cheating with this one because it’s technically a short story but I love Alyssa Wong’s stories so I’m putting it here anyway. It can be read for free and you should just...read it.
The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang: grimdark fantasy (TW: abuse, self harm, rape, drug abuse), inspired by Chinese history. It’s adult, but follows younger MCs and the unique blend of different historical periods/inspirations makes it extremely interesting. The characters are extremely fucked up in the best possible way, plus the use of shamanism is awesome. Please make sure you check all the TW before reading.
The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang: a Japanese-inspired militaristic fantasy, with elemental magic, a badass housewife dealing with her past and hiding a sword in her kitchen’s floor. It has interesting and nuanced family dynamics and a great reflection on propaganda and the use of narratives.
Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri: first book in an epic fantasy duology inspired by Mughal India (TW: abuse, slavery). I really liked both Empire of Sand and its companion and I find them pretty underrated. Both books have great slow burn romance (with a focus on mutual trust and respect) and focus on culture, religion, self acceptance and politics.
Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: a fantasy bildungsroman set in Mexico during the Jazz age. It’s a great approach to adult SFF as it follows a young girl on a life changing adventure. It features Mayan mythology and a god slowly becoming human (this trope is everything!).
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden: a coming of age story inspired by Russian folklore. The trilogy as a whole has one of the best arcs I’ve ever seen: each book is perfectly self-contained and has its own arc, but also fits perfectly in the bigger picture of the trilogy. The atmosphere is amazing, the cast of characters is extremely well developed. Also frost demons are better than men.
The Binding by Bridget Collins: historical fantasy, but with very minimal fantasy elements. It’s set in a world vaguely reminiscent of 19th century England. I’d say this book is about humans and self discovery. It’s about cowardice and the lies we tell ourselves and those we wish we could tell ourselves. Gay rep. (TW: abuse, sexual assault, pretty graphic suicide scene).
The Divine Cities trilogy by Robert Jackson Bennett: starting with City of Stairs, it follows a female diplomat and spymaster(!!). The whole trilogy features an interesting discussion about godhood, religion, fanatism, politics, without ever being boring or preachy. It has complex and rich world building and a pretty compelling mystery.
Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett: heist fantasy following a thief as she’s hired to steal a powerful artifact that may change magical technology as she knows it. Set in a Venice-like merchant city. Also, slow burn f/f romance.
Jade City by Fonda Lee: sort of a gangster urban fantasy, heavily inspired by wuxia and set in an Asian-inspired metropolis. It follows a pretty big cast of characters, each with their own journey and development. It features nuanced family dynamics and a lot of political and economical subplots. Not extremely prominent, but book 2 features m/m side rep.
Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse: inspired by Native American culture and specifically by the idea of subsequent worlds. It has a kickass MC and a good mix of original elements and typical UF tropes. TW: the book isn’t extremely violent but there is death and some gore.
A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine: space opera inspired by the Mexica and middle period Byzantium. It focuses on topics like colonialism and the power of narratives and language. It has one of the best descriptions of what it’s like to live in between spaces I’ve ever read. Also very interesting political intrigue and has a slow burn f/f romance (and a poly relationship recalled through flashbacks). I ranted a lot about it already.
Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee: a Korean-inspired space opera with a magic system based on math. It’s honestly quite convoluted and difficult to follow, but it also features some of the best political intrigue I’ve ever read. Plenty of lying, backstabbing and mind games. It also features lesbian and bisexual rep and an aroace side character (TW: mass shooting, sexual assault, abuse). I also really recommend Yoon Ha Lee’s short-story collection Conservation of Shadows.
The long way to a small angry planet by Becky Chambers: character driven space opera featuring a found family journeying through space. A fun read, that also deals with topics such as sexuality and race. Quite easy to go through, as the world building and plot aren’t particularly complex themselves. f/f romance.
The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo: an Asian-inspired fantasy novella that gives a voice to people usually silenced by history. It follows a cleric (non binary rep) as they chronicle the story of the late empress, retold through objects that she used in her life. It focuses on bonds between women and the power that lies in being unnoticed. f/f side rep.
The Black God’s Drums by P. Djèlí Clark: an urban fantasy novella, based on Orisha mythology and set in an alternate, sort of steampunk, New Orleans. I really like how creative Clark’s worlds are and how good he is at writing female characters (which rarely happens with male authors).
The haunting of tram car 015 by P. Djèlí Clark: novella set in an alternate steampunk Cairo populated by supernatural entities. It’s set in the same world of a Dead Djinn in Cairo, which is a short story you can read for free.
This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone: epistolary novella set during a time-travel war. It has gorgeous writing and an amazing f/f romance. As a novella, it’s quite short but it’s beautifully crafted and so complex for such a short book!
The Citadel of Weeping Pearls by Aliette de Bodard: a novella set in the Xuya universe (a series of novellas/short stories set in a timeline where Asia became dominant, and where the space age has empires of Vietnamese and Chinese inspiration), but can be read as a standalone. It’s a space opera featuring a disappeared citadel and the complex relationship between the empress and her daughter as war threatens her empire.
One for My Enemy by Olivie Blake: self-published urban fantasy following two rival families in New York. Sort of a Romeo and Juliette retelling but with gangster families and magic. Honestly recommend all of her books, I love how Olivie writes and especially how she writes female characters.

The Gilded Poppy Meets Marinette
First of all, I hit 1000 followers last night! Thank you all so much, this is so cool. If there is anything special y’all want me to do for 1000 followers, let me know.
This is an idea that I saw and talked about with @anastasian-dreamer and @musicfeedsmysoul12 and I loved it so much. I just had to write it out! I will write another one where the Poppy helps to defeat Hawkmoth. Find it here. I hope you all like it!
Nikolai and Remy had met the Dupain-Chengs not long after they met each other. They were only 15 and had not yet mastered being thieves. They needed food and they decided to try stealing from a popular local bakery. The plan was for Remy to talk to the bakers and distract them, while Nikolai grabbed some bread. The plan, however didn’t work at all. Sabine caught Nikolai the instant he touched the bread. But instead of getting mad and calling the police, Sabine gave them the bread with a smile. Sabine could tell they were living on the streets when they came in and since the bakery was doing well, Sabine didn’t see the harm in giving the boys free food. The boys thanked them and left the bakery with their stomachs full.
-----------------
That wasn’t the last time they went to Tom and Sabine’s bakery. They often went there and the couple always gave them free food. They grew close with the family and one day met their daughter Marinette. The boys were in the bakery, talking to the couple as they ate when a young girl, who couldn’t have been older than six, came into the room. The little girl looked at the teen boys and with a big smile on her face, asked her mother, “Mama, are they the ones you give all the bread to? Can they come play with me?” Sabine looked at the little girl with a kind smile, “If they want to Marinette.” That is how Remy and Nikolai found themselves being led into the most pink bedroom they had ever seen, with a plate full of fresh cookies and one very excited six year old. As they played with Marinette, the two boys agreed to make sure no harm ever came to this little girl and her parents, and to make sure to pay them back for their kindness.
----------------------
Years went by, and the Gilded Poppy was now a well known group of thieves made up of six people. Despite being busy with their heists, Remy and Nikolai always made a point to visit their favorite bakery every time they were in Paris. The rest of the Gilded Poppy often came with them and had also grown to care for the Dupain-Cheng family. Remy and Nikolai acted as older brothers for Marinette and the rest of the Poppy were like the crazy aunts and uncles of their weird family. Jett, Remy, and Zoe often got up to crazy schemes (nothing illegal, but always funny) with Marinette, the four of them constantly laughing. Vivienne would talk to Marinette for hours about fashion and her latest designs. Remy and Nikolai had also started sending the family expensive gifts to pay back their kindness from all those years ago.
------------------------
On one trip to the bakery, as they ate their food and talked with Tom and Sabine, the door to the bakery was flung open by Marinette, who rushed by and up to her room without a word, very clearly upset. Tom and Sabine just looked resigned at this point. They knew this was likely the work of that liar Lila Rossi, but there wasn’t much they had been able to do to help Marinette. They supported her as best they could at home, but they hadn’t made any progress with the school. When Nikolai asked what was wrong, they told the Poppy the whole story. Needless to say the Poppy was furious that some third rate con-woman had been making life hard for Marinette. And they were going to try there best to stop it right now.
-----------------------
For the next few days, they followed the liar around discreetly. They listened to all her lies and listened to the class falling for them. Any time that Lila lied and said Marinette was bullying her, the Poppy had a hard time not jumping in right then, but they knew they needed to wait for the right lie at the right moment. So they watched as the liar continued to lie about everything under the sun and the class isolate Marinette more and more. The only person that seemed to stand by her was Adrien Agreste. Other than that, all her other friends had abandoned her, and it made the Poppy furious. But they soon got their perfect moment to intervene.
--------------------------
Marinette was away at a doctor’s appointment and Lila was using the opportunity to come up with the most outlandish lies she could say, since the designer wasn’t there to mess anything up. She was telling the class about some of her ‘adventures in Italy’ when she came up with a new story. The Gilded Poppy was in the news a lot lately, so Lila claimed to have almost caught them once during a heist in Venice. She told the class she had risked her safety to safeguard a priceless painting and how the Poppy had threatened her, but she still did what she thought was right. Alya was looking at Lila with stars in her eyes. “Wow Lila! That is amazing. No wonder you are Ladybug’s best friend, you are already like a hero.” The class fawned over their friend’s ‘heroic deeds’ not knowing they were being listened to by a certain conman.
-------------------------
Remy couldn’t believe the idiocy of this liar and the class. He and Nikolai really needed to convince Tom and Sabine to move Marinette out of this class. But that is a discussion for another time. For now, the liar had backed herself into a corner and Remy would be able to put an end to this madness. He quickly fell into character and approached the class. “Pardon me, but did I hear your story about the Gilded Poppy correctly?” Lila smiled at the stranger, always looking to charm and amaze the people she met. “Yes, it is true. If it wasn’t for me, they would have stolen that masterpiece.” Remy put on his most charming smile, making sure he sounded calm and happy. “That is amazing. I am a true crime author and am writing a book about the Gilded Poppy. I would love to include your story in my book. When did this happen? What were they trying to steal? And where were they stealing it? Tell me everything.” Remy knew the girl would take the bait. From what he could tell, this girl lied for attention and fame,  so the offer to be in a book would be too good to resist. Remy smirked as Lila jumped into a story about how last August, the Poppy had tried to steal the famous  Ginevra de’ Benci painting from the Museo Correr and ending her tale with how the Poppy had threatened to kill her for stopping them.
---------------------------
Lila had finished her story and expected this author to be as astonished and fooled as the class. But instead she was met with a confused look. Remy made sure he looked perfectly confused before innocently asking, “Young lady, what are you talking about? Please don’t waste my time with made up stories.” The class looked confused at the man in front of them, before Nino spoke up. “What do you mean sir? Lila isn’t lying.” Remy looked at the class with a practiced cool look. “I do not wish to be rude, but she is lying. I have several accounts, including witnesses, police reports, and news articles that put the Poppy in New York from last July to September. They weren’t in Venice. They also are notoriously non-violent. They wouldn’t threaten to kill you. Also, the painting you mentioned is famously held in the National Art Gallery in Washington D.C., not the Museo Correr in Venice. You can all look this up, it is common knowledge.” The class all pulled out their phones, trying to prove that their friend wasn’t lying. Trying to defend her against this author. But they couldn’t find anything. They saw that everything this author said was true. About the Poppy, about the painting, everything. They quickly turned to their friend, now realizing that she was a liar. They started yelling at her and the school courtyard dissolved into chaos. It was so chaotic that no one noticed that Remy had disappeared.
-----------------------
Things got a lot better for Marinette after that. Lila was exposed as the liar she is and the chaos of that day even drew Mr. Damocles out of his office. Once he found out what happened and the extent of Lila’s lies, Lila was expelled from school. The class did apologize to Marinette, but the friendships were already to damaged to be mended by a simple apology. Remy and Nikolai did end up convincing Tom and Sabine to switch Marinette out of that class. Now Marinette was in Mrs. Mendeleiev’s class and was much happier. She had made a bunch of new friends and the class had a lot less drama going on. The Poppy was just happy to see their dear Marinette happy again and was glad they could help her.

How do all the other stands feel ab sr? I’m sure they all somewhat get along, right?
i’ve been wanting to give a longer, traditional hc style post about this!! since you’ve asked it’s the perfect opportunity to express my thoughts on it. it’s more of a combination of SR with the user and their stand, i hope that’s okay hjrktme
Tumblr media
Bruno Bucciarati;
Sticky Fingers is the first Stand from Bucciarati’s group that you got to see! So there’s a special place in your heart for it. By extension, Bruno was the first person to see Scarlet Ribbons. SR was very inquisitive during their initial meeting, since it’s the first time she ever saw a Stand other than herself. She was looking around a lot, and lowkey wondering where are this things bows at??
Though Stand powers wildly vary from one another, Bruno was able to give you a general explanation of what to expect from SR. He didn’t want to go too overboard with advice because he feels a natural fighting style stemming from your own abilities/instinct is best, especially since your Stand is created from your soul. He basically just told you to go with your gut, which at the time felt a bit frustrating... it turned out to be good advice though!
Sticky Fingers and SR have almost opposite abilities in a way? SR can close up gaps whereas Sticky Fingers opens them up. It’s not uncommon that when you and Bruno are chatting, that your respective Stands are just kinda messing around in the distance. Sticky Fingers likes making zippers in walls, and SR tries to see if she can close them with ribbons... it doesn’t work like that, but it’s kinda endearing to see them interact with one another lmao.
Giorno Giovanna;
It’s gonna be super cute okay. Giorno in general might give the impression of knowing what he’s doing when it comes to romance, but he really is just winging it and kinda going ??? the entire time. Meanwhile, Gold Experience is going ham with SR, pulling all the stops to impress her (and you, by extension). His Stand makes flowers of a striking red color, trying to match the shade of SR’s ribbons!! Mostly poppies, tulips, and occasionally roses.
Giorno is kinda curious how SR seems to be out a lot of the time, he’s thinking should I do the same thing with GE...? You’ll be doing exercises, and SR is there bringing a water bottle over to you. Or when you’re cooking, SR is hovering over your shoulder wanting to help out as well. She’s just almost always around, even if only in the background to explore her surroundings. It makes Giorno let GE out more often, subconsciously.
He does ask you about it once, and you just kinda shrug and say SR likes the freedom to do as she pleases. Since she isn’t rambunctious like Pistols, you don’t see the harm in letting her roam around.
Gold Experience wants to try making ribbons, but the best it can do is creating ribbon eels. It’s not quite the same, but it’s a solid effort. Giorno just has to stop GE from putting the ribbon eel on his head in the same way SR has a ribbon on hers. Mista was around to witness this historical event, and no, he does not intend on letting Giorno live it down. Giorno’s grateful he stopped it from actually happening though.
Guido Mista;
Let’s just say your Stands together can be pretty chaotic. The first time you met Mista, and he realized you were a Stand user like himself, he had a very pressing question. When you showed him SR, he looked at it for a moment, as if in deep thought.
“D-does... yours talk too?”
Mista passed Polpo’s test only to be gifted talented, albeit troublesome little gremlins. Before he realized giving Pistols food is a reliable method of calming them down, it was a war zone. One of the mornings where the two of you had to do some standard protection fee collection, he looked like a borderline zombie. Lamenting that the Pistols refused to let him sleep, and asked if you’d please use SR to cover their mouths lmao. They were protesting the entire time, trying to convince you not to do it.
When Number Five starts crying, SR makes a little ribbon to put on his head!! It’s super cute and Mista’s heart is just leaping in his chest. Then, of course, all the other Pistols want one bc equal attention!! When the two of you aren’t paying solid attention to your Stands, you’ll sometimes spot SR testing how many accessories she can fit on the tiny Pistols. It isn’t a lot but they’re insistent on trying.
Pistols are always trying to get SR to do crazy stunts for their entertainment. Eventually, you had to lock your refrigerator with her ribbons to prevent the Pistols from stealing your food. But when you’re busy, the Pistols keep trying to convince SR to undo them so they can snack. She actually felt bad for them once, released the restriction, and the Pistols went to town on your leftovers. : (
Mista felt pity for you though and offered to take you out to get more food!! So it all worked out for his benefit in the end. The Pistols do not take issue in reminding him of this as well, saying that they’re the reason he got to go on a date with you. :’ )
Pannacotta Fugo;
He remained fiercely adamant on keeping Purple Haze from you for the longest time. Fugo hates how his Stand practically comes out of its own autonomy whenever you’re in the vicinity, wanting to get a closer look at you. There have been a lot of close calls when you first got to know when another, leading to Fugo abruptly leaving in conversations.
Your Stands get along well once Fugo feels comfortable enough to let Purple Haze out around you. Since SR is a long ranged Stand, she can do her cute ribbon tricks from a distance outside of the virus’ range!! Though she has a habit of trying to get closer, just out of curiosity. Fugo gets freaked out when this happens though, so she waits until he’s distracted with talking to you (a little genius)!
Purple Haze makes the biggest puppy dog eyes at SR, which humiliates Fugo to no end. He gives his Stand intense talks when you’re not around, telling him to keep it cool, he doesn’t want you thinking he’s an idiot. But as soon as he even mentions SR, Purple Haze gets all thrilled and is like !!! So it’s ultimately counterproductive. Fugo just hopes you don’t put two and two together, over why his soul likes yours so much. It’s his daily prayer...
Fugo has an embarrassing habit of doodling ribbons on stuff he’s working on, when he starts zoning out. When he realizes what it is he’s doing he gets flustered about it, cursing underneath his breath and hoping that you don’t happen to come by and notice. Unfortunately for him, as SR likes to see what everyone is up to, she came over and saw what he was doing. After putting two and two together, she gave him a nod and a thumbs up on his doodles. Didn’t snitch to you though, so the two of them have a mutual understanding. :’)
Narancia Ghirga;
He wants so badly to impress you with Aerosmith. Narancia will whip his Stand out in your presence at any given opportunity, having it do a few flips and tricks more than necessary. Then he stares over to see what you and SR think about it... she once clapped in Aerosmith’s honor. It was all Narancia could think about for the rest of the day.
The two Stands typically just play around with one another. Aerosmith likes to make little ribbon shaped clouds, and SR attempts making a plane shape out of her ribbons. It’s not quite the same, but she’s trying!! Narancia finds it adorable, and tries to make requests of shapes and stuff for her to make. SR does her best to fulfill the requests, concentrating hard on the task!!
Since SR enjoys making hair accessories, she’s tried to make a bandanna similar to Narancia’s for you. Though she ultimately scrapped the idea, giving you a disapproving look and fastening it back into the normal bow it normally is lmao. When you mentioned this behavior to Narancia he was like wait, what?? Lemme see! But if SR doesn’t find something fashionable, she doesn’t have any intention on doing it again. So he’s outta luck...
It doesn’t stop him from asking about it. He just can’t believe that your Stand thought about him when he wasn’t around!! It touched him in a way he never knew possible. It’s also a bit of a relief since you’re often the subject of his thoughts.
Leone Abbacchio;
Similar in a sense to Fugo, where he didn’t want Moody Blues around you that much at first. He takes a much more serious approach to his Stand than others, since it’s deeply rooted in his past trauma. It’d actually be one of the few moments he might snap at you, should you ask to see his Stand one too many times. Not out of malicious intent, he’s just... very disillusioned with Moody Blues at first.
You two had a job which required some investigative work, the client having seemingly disappeared with some goods that belonged to Passione. Figuring out what happened with the merchandise was essentially child’s play for Moody Blues, a replay showing the full extent of the events. Abbacchio wasn’t keen on showing you his Stand, but it couldn’t be helped any longer.
Unlike the others who tended to pester him on the extent of Moody Blues’ abilities, you just complimented him. Saying that it’s similar in utility to your Stand. You willingly comparing yourself to him, and in a positive light nonetheless, kinda had him at a loss for words.
He didn’t really offer a strong rebuttal like he normally would, so you assumed he didn’t think much of your comment. Which, of course, couldn’t be further from the truth. If you could see good in him of all people, then well... there was a lot for him to think about that night.
After this incident, he’s noticeably just a tad kinder to you in general. What you said meant a lot to him. Obviously not enough to make all his self deprecation go away overnight, but it just gave a small glimmer of hope. That maybe he can someday be better.
Trish Una;
Another person that I picture SR being especially adorable with!! After the events of Bruno betraying the boss, you and SR would be feeling hurt on Trish’s behalf. You instantly draw the parallels of living a carefree life, only for Passione/gangsters to come in and essentially ruin everything.
While dealing with the pain of rejection from her father figure, Trish also wonders if you consider her less important. Since your original job was to protect her, due to being the boss’ daughter, wouldn’t it make sense you don’t care about her now that it’s no longer your job to?
SR covers the spot where her hand was severed with a bow, even after Giorno properly heals it. Trish just looks at you confused, and you explain it’s your Stand’s way of wanting to help her feel better. That where her father had inflicted pain, Trish has the support and strength from you and herself to overcome it.
Needless to say, Trish thinks highly over you, the feeling extending over to Spice Girl. During your meetups after everything is over, Spice Girl and Scarlet Ribbons come out and embrace one another!! Well, it’s more like SR goes for the hug, and Spice Girl is just :’) woah affection. Trish finds it a little embarrassing at first, but secretly loves and it and looks forward to it. Though she does wish Spice Girl was a tad more discreet.
During Trish’s travels for her singing career, if there’s anything that even vaguely reminds her/Spice Girl of you, she snaps a photo to text to you. It’s mostly red hair accessories and clothing, which she of course purchases. Spice Girl misses SR a lot, so expect to receive a lot of texts asking how you and your Stand are doing.
When Scarlet Ribbon spots Trish’s name popping up on your phone, she immediately brings it over. The Stand impatiently shoves your phone in your face, as if to say respond now!! It’s Trish, it’s important!! Scarlet Ribbons loves her a lot 🥺 especially since Trish sends her accessories...

Anonymous asked:
ooh femslash fics please. maybe some hcs on hogwarts girls in love, and how they survived during the umbridge era
Here’s the thing: we all know Dolores Umbridge is homophobic. She’s the type to be prejudiced and this is just one of the many beliefs she holds.
She genuinely does not think through the loophole of the decree declaring that boys and girls remain eight inches apart. When she sees same-sex couples floating around the hallways, she makes a decree declaring that nobody can be within eight inches of each other.
But Hogwarts is a school of magic and soon the female students band together in a show of solidarity against the most foul, horrid woman (whom they shudder to share the same gender with) who has ever walked its halls.
Parvati and Lavender are beautifully in-sync as always. When Trelawney is fired, they lie together in their bed (which bed? their two beds are basically one) and dream up future universes. They start planting tea leaves on Umbridge’s desk, shaped like all sorts of weapons and curse movements, and pour the tea itself on the floor. They break crystal balls and leave glass shards on her chair. They carve Trelawney’s initials into her cat pictures with their perfectly painted nails. Their love for the only teacher who has never mocked their overt femininity and interest for Divination turns out to be the thing that makes them realize their love for each other.
Luna and Ginny balance each other out. One is calm and serene, and the other feisty and fiery. Umbridge makes the mistake of insulting Xenophilius Lovegood in front of everyone in the class. Luna does not react, but later that evening she lets loose a series of creatures previously thought non-existent in Umbridge’s office (both at Hogwarts and the Ministry). Ginny steals all of Umbridge’s quills and replace them with ones that don’t cut into students’ skin, but mails the blood quills to the French ministry of magic (being the future sister-in-law to the Delacours has this one advantage).
Hermione and Pansy are unlikely allies. They bond together after Umbridge hurls insults at Pansy’s habit of mouthing off to everybody and makes comments about her mother. Pansy is enraged, but she is a Slytherin beyond her rage, and she decides to join the Squad when Umbridge offers. She meets up with Hermione in the library and asks for help in taking the pink-clad woman down. Hermione takes little time to realize that Pansy makes a very good spy. She can always be sure to avoid Umbridge and Malfoy and their cronies. It turns out, too, that Pansy is great at DADA when Umbridge is not here - and she helps Hermione annotate textbooks to distribute to other students. And if Pansy demands a kiss for her service? It’s the least Hermione can do, after all.
Marietta, in this timeline, is not recruited into any group. Cho knows that she wouldn’t join. Instead she is to give Cho information about the Ministry, so Cho can keep others safe and think of ways to counteract against the Ministry’s propaganda. She talks a lot about Cedric’s death, and though it hurts her, she knows it’s ultimately best that others know about the bravest and sweetest boy she’s ever had the honor to know.
Padma, Lisa Turpin and Sue Li hide behind their books as befits a Ravenclaw girl. The thing is, though, nobody really checks to see what they’re reading as long as the cover isn’t anything too suspicious. They sneak copies of the Quibbler while disguising it as Witch Weekly. They bring in books that Umbridge had banned and give it out to other students, making sure to have translation spells for those who read best in their mother tongue.
Hannah, Susan and Megan Jones benefit from the reputation of their house. Nobody suspects them of anything, since they’re the quiet ones at the back of the room who don’t do much. They’re the ones who secretly rearrange Umbridge’s belongings, shifting them slightly to the left or right. They also ensure to befriend Peeves, keeping him a vital ally.
Millicent Bulstrode, Tracey Davis, and the Greengrass sisters are the most terrifying quartet who have ever thrived together in Slytherin. The most close-knit group of female friends in the nineties. They all infiltrate the Inquisitorial Squad and take it down from the inside, causing chaos. Plus, with Death Eaters for close relatives, they know best how to cause pain discreetly.
Lily Moon and Sally-Anne Perks are the ones nobody see coming. They are the ones who bring everyone together. The soft-spoken peacemakers who grew up in households where women wielded power through appearances of docility. They’re the ones who attract Umbridge’s praise and take up her time. They’re the ones who calm any disagreements.
Romilda Vane and Leanne, who finally confessed their feelings for each other, are the ones who keep everything running. They distribute Skiving Snackboxes, Dungbombs and Fanged Frisbee’s. They write anonymous, threatening letters to Fudge and Umbridge. Romilda, the most talented potioneer of her year, brews all sorts of non-fatal but terribly inconvenient potions to be slipped into Umbridge’s food. Leanne, who has a criminal record in the Muggle world for stealing, nicks all of Umbridge’s Veritaserum and Spellotape and cat plates. She also plants a little artifact in Umbridge’s fireplace so that smoke blows at her face each time she attempts to contact anybody.
Angelina, Alicia and Katie (the queens of Gryffindor, the cutest ship and the third wheel/captain/may or may not be with them) run Quidditch practices for anyone who wants to hone their skills or pick up a new sport. They get brooms from Merlin-knows-where and make sure that everybody’s safe and that nobody gives anything away. And ultimately the trio are so nice that nobody really wants to anyway.
Minerva McGonagall, Aurora Sinistra, Pomona Sprout, Charity Burbage, Bathsheda Babbling, Septima Vector and Poppy Pomfrey (or as the students call them, the seven wonders of the castle) may or may not be working to help them as best they can. Poppy heals all the injuries, Charity instructs the girls who were raised by Muggles how best to blend into the wizarding world, Pomona gifts them plants and teaches them the coded language of flowers, Minerva transfigures the evidence of what goes on into innocuous things (and helps a lot herself), Septima and Aurora keep a lookout for Umbridge and those that sympathize with her, and Bathsheda is the one to teach runic codes to help students communicate.
Ultimately, Dolores Umbridge leaves. She never sees the girls working behind the scenes, whispering in darkness, writing coded notes, kissing and holding hands and loving each other and blossoming in adolescence. It’s only when she’s in Azkaban, reading articles from days-old newspapers, that she realizes just how much she has underestimated the majority of her former students.

Vivienne Tang (Angst)
Anon Request #1: “since you’re so good at angst, how would vivi react to mc either dying or getting seriously injured? do your worst xo”
Anon Request #2: “vivienne after her mc dies in her arms either during a heist or after one of her old enemies attack her”
Anon Request #3: “Have you ever watched Grey’s Anatomy? If so, you probably will have seen Lexie Grey’s death and Mark Sloan talking to her as she died. Is there any way you could write a fic inspired by what he said to her, but for Vivienne/MC after MC gets fatally injured? For some reason I keep imagining everything Mark said leaving Vivienne’s mouth as she says goodbye to her MC…🌹”
Anon Request #3: “Break up headanons for viv”
Anon Request #4: “How about MC waking up after a month of coma just to find out that Vivienne has not left her side not once? Yes, give me the angst but with lots of fluff pls ✊😩”
Anon Request #5: “What if Vivienne’s MC fought cancer as a teen and she recently found out that it had come back rather aggressively? How would she tell Vivi and what would her reaction be as she got sicker and sicker? Headcanons please ~ from a teenage cancer survivor who is glad she made it through, and found this blog more helpful in dark times than you’ll ever know xx”
Anon Request #6: “What if Inez had kidnapped MC instead of Vivienne? Please tell us all about Vivienne’s reaction (I personally don’t know how calm she’d be able to remain knowing that someone so predatory has the love of her life in her clutches) and what happens when/after she saves MC. Angst to Fluff, obviously, and can either be a fic or some of your amazing headcanons 😘”
Anon Request #7: “Can any of you guys write a angsty fic where mc and vivi get separated for years and they finally find eachother after searching all those years? xoxo Anon Request #8: “I’m lowkey freaking out at the lockdowns in my country because of the Coronavirus. Is it in any way possible for you to write a fic where germaphobe Vivienne is high key panicking about it and MC has to calm her down?”
Anon Request #9: “fic/hc about vivienne walking in on mc crying on the shower floor after an argument, she’ll become so distressed by the sight that she’ll walk into the shower fully clothed just so she can hold her and tell her she loves her (bonus points if this is the first time she’s actually seen her cry/the first time she realises that mc always cries in the shower because she knows seeing her uncharacteristically sad will break vivi’s heart)…do your worst x”
Anon Request #10: “Vivienne cheats on MC with Nadia and tries to make up to her. The end is up to you😊” Anon Request #11: “HIII, I SAW THAT YOU WROTE SOME HC FOR THE OTHER ANON WHO IS MY AGE & TOLD YOU GUYS A LITTLE ABOUT HER CANCER. I’VE BEEN FIGHTING TYPE 1 DIABETES SINCE I WAS FIVE AND RARELY FIND CHARACTERS WITH THE SAME CONDITION. WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR SOME HC WHERE VIVIENNE’S MC IS A T1 DIABETIC? (: (:” Anon Request #12: “VIVIENNE FINDING MC CRYING AFTER THEIR DISAGREEMENT/THE NADIA SITUATION IN HER LAST CHAPTERS. BONUS POINTS IF SHE’S NEVER SEEN HER CRY BEFORE.“ Anon Request #13: “ANGST, AFTER VIVIENNE’S COMPLACENT ATTITUDE TOWARDS NADIA SOMEHOW RESULTS IN MC’S DEATH — THAT WOULD’VE BEEN PREVENTED IF SHE’D BEEN A GOOD GF AND ACTUALLY LISTENED INSTEAD OF THROWING A TANTRUM AND GASLIGHTING HER — SHE STRUGGLES TO LIVE WITH THE GUILT AND THE POPPY HAVE A HARD TIME FORGIVING HER FOR IT TOO.“
Anon Request #14: “i love angst so much SO CAN YOU WRITE ABOUT VIVIENNE CRYING IN FRONT OF MC FOR THE FIRST TIME?? Break my heart please 😌✌️”
Anon Request #15: “NADIA KIDNAPS VIVI’S MC AND WHEN SHE FINDS HER, SHE’S HURT. NOT FATALLY, BUT SERIOUSLY. THERES A LARGE STAB WOUND IN HER SIDE AND LOTS OF BLOOD AND THE BLOOD LOSS IS HAVING SYMPTOMS; SHE’S COLD, CONFUSED, VERY ANXIOUS ETC. HC OF VIVIENNE CARING FOR HER/COMFORTING HER… MAJOR ANGST BUT END WITH LOTS OF FLUFF PLEASE.”
Anon Request #16: “QUEEN OF THIEVES MC GOES OUT TO DINNER CLUB WITH THE POPPY. DRINKS A GLASS OF WINE, CLUTCHES HER THROAT BEFORE PASSING OUT SINCE ITS POISONED.”
Anon Request #17: “Nadia pushes MC from the rooftop and she is very seriously injured. She spends weeks in the hospital on a ventilator despite being declared brain dead because no one can bear to let her go, her family fly to Paris and Vivienne doesn’t leave her side, but there’s no option but to switch off her life support. Vivi holds her hand as her heartbeat fades, crying and begging her to come back to her, but it’s no use. Fic or HC about this scenario please.”
Anon Request #18: “Vivienne comforting MC after a nightmare (also later MC returning the favor?)”
Anon Request #19: “f it’s possible, can I get Vivienne dying while protecting protecting MC??? Please and Thank You  =)”
Anon Request #20:“I’d like to see a story where QOT MC ends up going blind and Vivienne has to help her adapt, she believes its her fault when it isn’t.”
Anon Request #21: “this might be waaaaaaay too dark and twisty but what if the police caught up with the gilded poppy & rather than go to prison & be separated from each other they decide to ingest some of nikolai & vivienne’s poisons? Pairing for this would be Vivi x Mc if you’re up for doing your absolute worst 🥀🍷
Anon Request #22: “Can you write what happens next in that angst story of Vivenne's MC being poisoned by wine at dinner? The more angst the better.”
Anon Request #23: “It’s been a month since MC left the poppy and returned to NYC, and Vivienne has finally plucked up the courage to win back her woman. When she gets there and tracks her down she finds her dead in her apartment in a murder that’s identical down to the finest detail to Inez Serrano’s. What happens next?”
Anon Request #24: “Ahh, after reading that fic where mc faints from toxic paint, can you guys write a part two of that? If you guys have time since you probably have a dozen requests. Thanks in advance”
Anon Request #25: “Vivienne and MC break up, a couple of years later Vivi goes to New York to win her back. She spots her from across a crowded museum, hides in the shadows, and notices a wedding ring on her finger, a baby with her eyes held in her arms, and another woman on her arm. She looks happier than Vivi can ever recall her being, and that’s when she realises that “hilst MC may be the love of her life, she is not the love of MC’s. ❤️ Do your worst, make us cry, mods xo”
Anon Request #26: “May i request a hc or fic of Vivienne finding out that her girlfriend has been psychologically/emotionally abused by their parents.”
Anon Request #27: “I’m sure I’m not the only one who needs to know more about an awkward ghost’s series about MC w her own crew!!! Perhaps for an eventual finale - MC finally gets cornered and isn’t able to run. She has to confront her feelings and she decides once and for all whether she can forgive Vivienne and move on or if she just can’t.”
Anon Request #28: “Can you write QOT MC betraying Glided Poppy by selling them out to FBI and stealing everything they earned and also joining Flashpoint to work with Nadia. This broke Vivienne’s heart as she gets arrested along the crew. Make it angsty as possible lol and thanks!”
Anon Request #29: “Hi! Long time lurker, big fan of this blog. Can I request either a headcannon or a fic of Viv Tang?Basically, it goes like this, it's an AU of some sort, where Viv and the Poppy leave MC.
Anon Request #30: Can I request a Vivienne x MC, MC died giving birth to their baby😭🥺Advance Thank you for all of your hard work🤗
Anon Request #31: Hello, I loved your fics on Vivienne. So I want to request a Vivienne fic where MC is pregnant, and she with the Poppy is having dinner in a restaurant. But, she got served with spoiled food, so she got food poisoning. Make it a bit angsty and end it in fluff as possible. Thank you!!
Request #1: “oh my poor heart, could you go on, when MC finds vivienne crying on the beach 😭”
Request #2: “could there be a continuation of mc going to steal something from vivienne? like a vivienne point of view when she learned that mc was there and took something from her and maybe she swears to herself not to give up on mc (sorry my english, i'm brazilian i'm still learning)”
Request #3: May i request vivienne x mc where mc leaves vivienne after a huge fight and doesn’t come back, only to have her find mc not only living in Japan but  also finds her figure skating her heart out during after hours because mc’s best friend owns the skating rink facility. Vivienne stays and watches mc skate but when mc sees her, she ignores her because mc is tired of empty promises and dancing around everything that goes on between them. Especially their feelings. Little bit angst but fluffy ending
Combined Request #1: “Vivienne x Mc, where Mc gets injured and falls unconscious and later Vivienne taking care?“ + QOT MC gets caught up in the blast from one of Jett’s explosives, and now has severe burns acrros her face and other parts of her body along with slight deafness. Could I get a fic of Vivienne comforting her, and telling her she’s still beautiful? Thanks!

Knighted- Part 5
Thank you for your patience!
To the east of the Castle Town was not much of anyone, any small villages or settlements for outside trading either favoring the east or hiding just within the shade of the forest to the south. Instead it was dominated by a great expanse of rolling fields, a scattering of rocky outcroppings the only thing to break up the gently flowing waves of color. In late summer as it was the hills and creeks were dressed in thick, sleepy yellows and light stalky greens. The stones of the creek beds bore every shade of a storm and cast them against the trickling blue of its waters, lazy shafts of sunlight fighting through the billowing white clouds that hung in the sky. But perhaps most notably, were the wildflowers.
All across the hills and gripping tightly to the boulders were flashes of royal purple, shocking azure and pure snowfield white. Keeping together in clusters of vibrant color were the poppies, varied from crimson red to every shade of failing sunlight. The pollen and insects natural to all of these sights drifted on the breeze and traveled uninterrupted, unless their path happened to cross the only current inhabitants of such a naturally beautiful place.
The finely woven blankets the princesses had brought with them lay flat on the crest of a hill, creating a lowered square in the tall growing grass. The flora surrounding their place also hung low, the sudden traffic of two eager children and their older sister enough to cut narrow paths between their destinations. No matter where they wandered in the fields however they always drifted back towards their chosen spot, where stood on the hill their guard kept watch.
Nino shifted a bit as he stood, subtly positioning the gaps in his armor to catch the cool breeze as it came through and sighed quietly in content, glad to be cooled down. The weather itself was far from brutal, but he found it uncomfortable to go without the breeze for too long, the sun working hard to heat his armor and him along with it.
He cast a careful eye over the vast area, glad once again that there were so few places to hide in such a place. It was the main reason the girls were allowed only one guard to be on hand, any others standing far in the distance at the edges of the forest or watching the road. So long as he made sure to watch for movement outside of the occasional animal visiting a creek, he could actually enjoy where he was.
It was stunning here, the end of summer bringing out its best. He partially believed that thanks to the wonders natural to the location, but he also could not deny that he was quickly growing fond of it for another reason all together.
He turned at the sound of shrill laughter, smiling openly to see one of the young twins gripping the length of her dress in her hands and charging through the creek with her bare feet. Her laughter sounded again as the cold water made her jump away, giggling happily as she sprinted back towards her twin. He chuckled to himself as he turned to face them completely, pleased to see them enjoying themselves under his watch but also wondering if should intervene before they slipped.
No, he decided, they were careful enough on their own for now.
His attention was caught again by another sound, this time coming from his side, and he looked down to see that the eldest princess was lounging peacefully on the blanket he had laid out for her, laughing to herself.
Alya looked up when she noticed him move, smiling at him lazily as she soaked in the pleasant atmosphere. The twins were taking another charge in together this time, holding hands as they did and sacrificing half of the hems of their dresses to be dragged through the water with them.
“Enjoying yourself, your highness?” he asked, attempting to be the one to start conversation.
“Yes,” she answered happily, shifting to sit up a little to better watch her sisters play. “It’s so nice here, and it’s fun to see them play.”
“Mm…” he replied distractedly, failing with conversation right away as he focused more carefully on the twins, watching as the two of them crouched low in the grass and whispered to each other about something on the other side of the creek. “What are they up to?”
“They’re just playing probably,” she reassured him, though she too watched curiously as her sisters flattened themselves against a rock, peering over the edge at something. “Made up a new game or something. I’m sure they’ll be safe, no need to worry.”
“Yeah… yeah you’re right,” he agreed, craning his neck somewhat to keep them in view as they started to move farther away but heeding Alya’s request to leave them alone.
There was a small stretch of silence, the twins being quiet now with their attention so entirely focused. Alya remained on the blanket with their guard, silence reigning until Alya broke it.
“So… what was being a farmer like?”
Nino jolted, looking back to her in surprise and found that she was smiling at him, grinning wide as could be.
“That’s right isn’t it? You were a farmer before Adrien brought you here?”
Nino blinked once at her, suddenly becoming a bit nervous as he quickly looked away again under the excuse of watching the twins.
“Um yes, I was. Uh...” he hesitated, smiling at her bashfully as he said, “there isn’t much to say honestly. It’s all boring.”
Alya didn’t reply, just watching him expectantly till he laughed somewhat nervously, trying to figure out what he could tell her.
“It was just, well. It’s my family’s farm. I worked on it with my father and cousins to set the crop and keep it alive, then work the harvest. Selling it wasn’t every really my job, I was more so responsible for making sure we still had something to sell.”
“What do you mean?” she pressed, her head tilting curiously. He shifted again nervously, trying to remember that she was a person just like anyone else. It was hard to forget who she was entirely though, even if they were alone. In fact being alone with her almost made him more nervous.
“Um… I learned to fight for a reason. At first it was to pass the time but it became necessary eventually. Since we were so close to the border raiders would cross over into the outer villages where we wouldn’t have the protection of the castle. They preferred to steal their food rather than pay for it, so it became my job to fight anyone who showed up in a raid and escort our shipments to town.”
“You had to fight bandits just to keep the crop!?” Alya blurted indignantly, her expression so genuinely outraged that he jumped in surprise. “Farmers already work hard enough; I knew the borders were weak that far out but I didn’t know that.”
“Don’t be upset,” he somewhat pleaded, trying to smile as he placated her. “It’s alright, a lot of people who live that far out know how it is. Lots of men study fighting in order to protect their families and keep off raiders. We can’t expect the castles aide when we are so far away, so we fend for ourselves.”
“But what happens now that you’re gone?” she asked quietly, watching his expression carefully. “Is your family going to be alright?”
“My village keeps things tight, no one there would ever leave my family unprotected. My cousins can fight as well and my fathers no pushover, I know they’ll be alright. The bandits in the area know not to mess with my family, raids only came close to us when they were attacking travelers in the woods or moving shipments of stock.” The young guard smiled, but she could tell he had had the same fears himself no matter what he said.
“Will they struggle without you when the harvests come again?”
“Maybe…” he admitted, but he shrugged, looking away again. “But I can be of more help from here then I would be if I had stayed. This way I can save money to support them. The farm is dead through winter time, we don’t raise livestock, so we usually have to look for other kinds of work. But I’m being paid much more here than I ever would have been anywhere closer to home, and it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
Alya was quiet, and after a while the silence stretched long enough that he looked back down to her, watching as she fidgeted with her dress.
“Are you alright?” he finally asked, thinking through his words and trying to figure out if he had said something wrong. His worry heightened when she didn’t respond, but when she looked up at him at last he was surprised by her soft smile.
“… It’s very honest. And noble,” she said slowly, looking him in the face as she did, absorbing his expression. “Your reasons for being here,” she explained. “It’s noble. That’s what I think all the guards should be like, people with that kind of earnest intention. You’re here because you earned it and you were capable, and you stayed because you knew you could help your family if you did. Despite the fact that I’m sure so many people told you that you didn’t belong I can honestly say you’re one of the only guards who actually does, I believe. I admit I don’t know you…” she paused, looking him over and seeing the way the tall armored image of a guard paired with the earnest open expression of a farm boy, before saying with a smile, “but you certainly have my attention.”
Nino was stunned, staring at the princess in silence but she did not look away. He was stood facing the royal in surprise, and truly he felt like a farmer in a bigger man's clothes, if only for a moment. But the longer she watched him and the more he absorbed her words he was again reaffirmed that he was not, in fact, out of place. He was exactly where he was supposed to be, and he was doing his job.
“You are… too kind, your highness.” He finally managed, looking down to allow himself a brief moment of privacy. Despite the genuine flood of affirmation though, he still afforded her a smile when he looked up again. “And incredibly well said… Thank you… You’d expect a guard to be more sure of themselves, but your faith makes me feel… better.”
He grit his teeth at the ineloquent reply, glad he decided to quickly look away when he heard her giggle. In his defense he didn’t have schooling like she did, but he had a feeling that even if he did he wouldn’t come off nearly as sharp as she did. He was realizing pretty quickly that ‘sharp’ was as good a word to describe her as unbreakable was. When he glanced back he could see the edge of her in her grin and the flash of humor in her eyes as she no doubt prepared to tease him over it, something he accepted with good nature. Her presence was, in a way, overwhelming, but also easy. How someone could manage to be both the most intimidating person he had ever met yet also someone he could grin at effortlessly he had no idea… She was brilliant and beautiful and incredibly important, but as she teased him jokingly he recalled that it was HIM who had caught her attention.
“Yeah well… I didn’t spend the ride over preparing a speech so excuse me princess if it was lacking.” Nino rolled his eyes, smiling as he turned back towards the field.
“You were so set on making a good impression I just figured-,” she had started to reply with a smirk, when she was suddenly cut off by an incredibly serious and alert guard, Nino’s playful tone instantly gone.
“Where are the twins?”
“What?” Alya questioned but he was already moving down the hill when she turned to look. She sat up straight, looking out over the tall grass and sweeping her gaze across the creek where they had been and all the hillocks and wild flowers.
But that’s all she saw.
Her breath caught when she heard the sharp distinctive sound of a sword being unsheathed and she whipped around to see Nino moving quickly towards the creek bed, calling out loudly in a powerful voice that startled her.
“Girls!” he shouted out, “Etta! Ella!”
Nino stood where he had seen them last, his heart starting to race as his grip on his weapon tightened. He shouted again, stepping forward and crossing the stream quickly, a thousand thoughts silenced in the back of his mind.
Part of him wanted to panic, whether for the kingdom or the girls or himself. He was dead if something happened to them on his watch but that didn’t matter, it fell silent in the face of the greater threat. Even in as peaceful a place as the field he had been an idiot. He got complacent, distracted. His own life was forfeit, but those two little girls-
“Girls!” he shouted a final time, climbing the hill of stone and rock to get as good a view as possible, ready to face an army should he find it when quite abruptly, bursting up from the tall waist high grass… were the two most furious little girls he had ever seen.
“You RUINED it!” shouted out, her pink dress dirty and wet in places, startling the battle ready soldier so thoroughly he almost lost his footing on the stones. Nino blanched and retreated, glancing up just in time to see a small family of field rabbits dart away into the grass, followed a brief distance by the heart broken wails of the second young princess.
“They were right there, they were playing and they were RIGHT THERE and you ruined it!”
“I- you- what!?” Nino blurted incredulously, somewhat aware of Alya coming up beside him as he lowered his sword.
“Girls what were you-!” Alya started herself, her entire posture furious when she was cut off by one of her sisters running into her legs, gripping her dress in greedy hands and crying out indignantly.
“We followed the bunnies all the way there to their house and they had the little babies and then he came by and he was shouting and he RUINED IT!”
Nino stared at them in disbelief for another full second before he nearly dropped his sword all together and groaned heavily, an armored hand reaching up and covering his face.
He heard Alya sigh as well, her tone frustrated as she said, “You scared us half to death and disappeared because you were watching rabbits!?”
Instead of seeing any kind of error on their part for ignoring Nino’s clearly distressed calls they chose to cling to their sister, pointing accusingly at Nino and only seeing his fault in the whole affair.
Alya was frowning as she tried to make sense of their babbling, groaning again herself before looking up to see Nino sheathing his sword, shaking his head until he finally looked relieved. He was clearly pleased that nothing had actually gone wrong, but he had been ready to kill in a heartbeat and that had to be exhausting.
“Listen you two, no listen to me,” Alya cut in to her sisters’ frantic accusations, her tone so heavy and serious that they faltered and stared up at her, Nino looking over as well. She had on her best ‘princess’ voice as she gave them an order. “Under no circumstances, ever, EVER are you to ignore your guard when he calls for you. He is here to keep you safe you do not just DISAPPEAR on him; do you understand me?”
The twins looked up at her, their expression twisting in stubbornness and still mixed with their previous devastation. However, ever as strong willed as their sister, Etta had the nerve to say, “You ignore guards and run away ALL THE TIME.”
Alya froze, pulling back a little as she opened her mouth and closed it again, searching for an answer. She didn’t look at him but she saw Nino raise an eyebrow out of the corner of her eye.
Eventually Alya huffed and said, “That’s different, I am not a little kid! You two have to stay where he can see you, and you answer when he calls. Got it?”
Alya felt a little warm for the first time in the late summer sun as she deliberately ignored Nino’s questioning expression, not appreciating getting called out by her baby sisters. She waited firmly until they more or less agreed, moving away from her now and looking instead towards Nino.
“We’re sorry,” they said together after a moment, trading a glance between them before somewhat stiffly curtsying, clearly knowing it was what they were supposed to do even if they still held him responsible for ruining their fun.
“We should have answered,” replied Etta (he was fairly sure), looking away as she added “even if it would have scared them away…”
“Yes,” Ella agreed, looking up at him and seeming a little more genuine than her sister. “We didn’t mean to scare you. We were just playing.”
Nino didn’t reply right away, taking a deep breath and finding solace in seeing them both safe and sound before saying, “It’s alright. Just please, don’t run off unless I know at least where. I want to be able to let you two have your freedom but if you ignore me when I look for you I can’t do that.”
“Yes sir,” they replied together, bowing their heads. When they looked up again his heart ached dully at their expressions, and though it was completely ridiculous to, he honestly did feel a little bad about scarring away their rabbits.
“I’ll tell you what,” he finally said, gesturing further out into the field. “If you let me help, maybe we can try and find those rabbits again. That way you can play but I can keep an eye on you, alright? I promise I won’t scare them away this time.”
The twins were expressionless for about two seconds before it finally settled in what he had said, and he couldn’t help but smile a little at how suddenly ecstatic they seemed.
“You’ll help us?” Said one, bouncing on her heels. “You’ll play with us!?” asked the other, her hands clasped in front of her.
“Yes,” he reiterated, laughing aloud when they cheered. Suddenly though he thought better of it, looking up and past them towards Alya who was watching the scene with a fond smile. “If that’s alright with you, your highness.”
“Watching a guard in full armor try and sneak around and find some rabbits?” she asked back, quirking an eyebrow as she smirked at him. “It would honestly make my day. Mind if I help?”
“Of course you can!” Etta cheered, jumping and cheering with Ella before the two of them sprinted off, heading towards the blanket where their lunches rested uneaten saying they were going to grab some ‘bait’.
Quite abruptly, as was common with the twins, they were gone, and Nino was left standing in a small clearing of trampled grass with a very amused heir to the throne.
“You’re seriously going to play with them?” Alya asked, her smile clear in her voice as she looked at him, genuinely surprised which seemed odd to him.
“They nearly scared me half to death, seems like the best way to keep an eye on them,” he answered, shrugging a little as he looked back over the small trail the girls had cut towards the hill they had set up on. “Besides,” he continued, looking back towards Alya with an exasperated smile, “they actually managed to make me feel bad about the rabbit thing. I feel like I owe them.”
Alya let out something like a ‘pfft’ before eventually she was laughing, shaking her head. “They have that effect on people, but don’t be a pushover or they’ll take you for everything you’re worth.”
“I’m not a pushover,” Nino defended himself immediately. “…I’m not!” he said again when she just laughed, starting to walk away from him and towards the girls.
“Sure thing, farmboy,” she said over her shoulder with a grin. Surprisingly, even though if anyone else had said it it might have offended him he didn’t mind it when she said it. He knew she saw him as he was… it was more just… familiar sounding. “Come on now, I need help organizing them,” Alya continued, looking forward now.
“As you wish, your highness.”
“Alya,” she replied, and when she looked back at him the image of her stunned him. The sun shone through her red hair and made it look like fire against her dark skin. Her eyes were bright and her smile kind, if mirthful, as she reminded him, “When we’re alone, you can call me Alya.”
“Right…” he answered slowly, swallowing as he suddenly looked down to create some space. He was still smiling however, focusing on the grasses and the wildflowers to clear the sight of her from his head.
Didn’t work, he noted sourly.
She laughed before calling him by name again, and together they headed back towards the hill where the twins were rifling through their lunches for anything they were willing to spare. When they reached the creek he held out his hand on instinct, prepared to help her over it, but she gave him the stink eye and he retracted it, shrugging and gesturing for her to go on her own.
He rolled his eyes when she managed to soak half of her dress but otherwise made no comment as she shook out the hem, the water logged fabric clearly enough of a cost to pay to do something on her own. He did however say aloud, “Really?” when she turned back to offer her hand to help him cross.
“Don’t want you to rust your pretty new boots farmboy,” she said with a smirk, snickering when he ignored her hand and stepped over the creek alone, bursting into a short laugh when he shot her a withering look and continued on ahead.
“Oh I was just helping!” she called after him, “Isn’t that the polite thing to do?” but she only earned another dead panned glance for her trouble, and far out into the field a family of rabbits turned their ears to the sound of light, ringing laughter.

Trolls’ fanfiction: “The Forbidden Fruit” [3/5]
Ok, here’s the third chapter you guys! :P
First of all. It’s all Smut (r18) and based on the Omegaverse!AU, so don’t be shocked. XD That’s exactly how it works, more or less... Well, I hope you’ll enjoy this little one!
Second. Thanks for the 530 followers! <3
Branch let out a small mewl as the Princess' reproductive appendage slipped with incredible ease into his bigger and tougher body, that trembled and shivered with great pleasure, welcoming its new and only Alpha. The grey Troll used his strong arms to steady himself but, since Poppy was very light and her weight was almost imperceptible on his back, he didn't need to use a lot of energy to support her. “P-Poppy please, just move...” the male begger her with a shaky tone, impatient and with his mind blurred by hormones and primordial instinct to be bred and reproduce.
The two didn't know what they were doing exactly, it was all wrong and too fast in Poppy's opinion. Where was the courting? The singing? The intimacy? The gifts and attentions an Alpha was supposed to give an Omega to ask him or her out? The pink girl was a future Queen, she was going to be the leader of her Village, and she knew she had to choose a deserving and fair companion who would have ruled by her side forever, but now... she was choosing Branch. Or better, her impelling lust was choosing and willing to claim that grumpy Troll once for all. The bond between an Alpha and an Omega was a very powerful union, in fact it always lasted a lifetime: no way out, no way on Earth to break it unless the death of one of the parts. Until death do us apart, right?
There was a good motivation on why all the Omegas in heat had to stay inside their homes during the spring season, safely hidden inside their pods (or inside a bunker, in this particular case): Alphas, males or females, went absolutely nuts around Omegas without a mate, so crazy and unstoppable that they would have mated the needy stranger in question, and without a second thought.
Yeah, they really didn't realize what was going to happen, the only thing they cared about in that moment was how to finish what they've just started, and as quickly as they could. Yup, the first mating had to be pretty fast, a minute or two of thrusting would have been enough, because an Omega wasn't technically considered “taken” until the Alpha's knot and mating bite, the irrefutable emblems of the carnal and eternal union between the two creatures. Sometimes, especially if the intercourse happened outside or worst among other Trolls (a very rare thing nowadays, they were a civilized and decent community!), another aspiring mate could have easily attacked and challenged the Alpha in that vulnerable phase, trying to get the Omega using the violence.
Poppy knew on the inside that something like that wasn't going to happen at all, no one would have stealed Branch from her, after all they were stuck in an underground cave, all alone during a wild storm, and she trusted her people blindly. But, as a matter of fact, the instinct of protection was written, no carved, in her DNA; she just felt the urge to knot and bite the grey Troll, right there and right then. The Princess was an Alpha after all, and she was going to behave as one.
The Alpha female, hearing her soon-to-be-mate pleading with such desperation and need, pleased his request with joy, starting to move her slim hips quickly against his behind. Poppy could smell his natural lubricant around her now exposed member and trickling down his thighs, dripping on the hard ground and expanding its delicious scent in the air, inebriating her and forcing her form to go harder and faster.
“O-oh, fuck! Like this, don't stop!” Branch moaned loudly, his reticence and decency completely gone at this point, his light blue eyes shut tightly and his quivering legs parting just a little more, making a bit room for Poppy in a silent gesture of pure trust and encouragement. The male's hands scratched the smelly soil harshly when the tip of the Princess' appendage hit a particular spot inside of him, a sensitive and private place reachable only when the grey survivalist was in heat. “K-knot me... knot me now!” he drooled, feeling her whole weight on his back and lifting his pelvis as much as he could, clarifying his urges and lowering his head, exposing and offering his nape to the Princess, accepting her as official mate.
It all happened in just a few seconds, nobody really knew how many; Poppy let out a loud a moan as she strongly sank her round teeth in the back of his neck, keeping him completely still during the delicate process, drawing tiny and bloody cuts on his grey and sweaty skin, leaving a deep wound that would have broken two scent glands and become a scar. The scar, also called the Bite, proof that the Omega was now taken for good, forever.
Branch himself let out a scream when he came, spurting out infertile semen from his own manhood, his piercing sound turning into wails and whines of pain as the knot started to form and swell into his unprepared body, stretching his narrow flesh without mercy. He even tried to move forward towards the exit of the cave, running away from that unpleasant sensation and preferring the rain over that excruciating pain, but no use: their pelvis were firmly attacked to each other, they were stuck. Tied together by that damned knot, that would have lasted twenty-thirty minutes minimum. The only reasonable thing to do was waiting patiently for it to fade naturally.
The survivalist just collapsed on the ground, giving up and feeling dead tired, shivering as the Princess herself, his future Queen, started to release her own, fertile seed into him, letting out tiny moans with her beautiful and always happy voice. He had to admit that he felt so much better than before, the heavy pressure in his groin area was finally gone, and he sighed with satisfaction when Poppy started to enegically lick his bloody nape, cleaning it up and trying to disinfect it. The pink Troll's instinct to take good care of her new mate had appeared after their union, and Branch could almost hear her talking about bringing him food and fresh water with herself. “Stay here... don't go out to do something stupid or drown. It's too dangerous, and I'll need you again in an hour or two...” the male breathed weakly, starting to fall asleep against her. “... don't leave.”.
“I won't, Branch.” the pink Alpha replied sweetly, nuzzling against him once again, rubbing their naked bodies to warm them up a little. “I'll be here.”.
