Ren is the last survivor of the Shizuya bloodline, famed for their powers and influence. The bloodline ends with him, unfortunately, as he cannot have a blood child with his fiancée, Johann Chu. Aisha and him aren’t blood related either so the bloodline might sadly end with him. It’s probably better if it does too, as it’s not uncommon for people of that bloodline to have little control over their power. 

Ren’s weapon is a technological wonder, able to take many forms, such as gauntlet, blades attached to his arms, and a twirling wheel of blades. He is a master of Shaolin Monk Kung fu, as well as karate and taekwondo (I hope I spelt that right) 

His parents died in a staged car crash, caused by the director of Black Swan Bay orphanage, Herzog. He then took Ren in and raised him up until the bombing, where Ren and Aisha ended up at Cassel College. 

Trivia:

-Ren’s name means lotus in Japanese, while his last name means quiet or silent winter. As such, his father’s nickname for him before he died was ‘Snow lotus’

- He earned the title Ice King for obvious reasons after he aced the dragon servitor drill and held his own against Johann Chu during day of Liberty. 

- Ren is very quiet, almost mute, but, he does talk occasionally and surprisingly enough, he can sing. He got popular for it after Aisha recorded him singing Lemon (it’s a really depressing song in Japanese and a guy named dong dang on YouTube made a cover, I suggest you go check it out) and caught the attention of Japanese idol Ruri Kazama. 

- Ren is usually very quiet, but, he can also be flirty and confident, sometimes without words

- He cut his hair after having nightmares of Black Swan Bay, because Herzog had long hair at one point and Ren had wished to be like him then. 

- Shaolin Kung Fu is pretty much dead at this point so it’s a miracle Ren managed to learn it. 

- Ren has serious abandonment issues and separation anxiety, his mind is rather fragile and even Johann and Aisha are constantly walking a tightrope when it comes to his feelings

- Ren’s power is extremely unstable, and it’s often triggered by his feelings. So, a mental breakdown could cover everything within a half mile radius in ice. 

- Ice seems like an odd thing to pair with martial arts, especially with something like Shaolin Kung fu which is commonly associated with fire, but, Ren does make it work. 

- Oh yeah, and Ren’s legs and ass are *chef kiss* Johann has a lot of fun with them ;) 

- Ren is very passionate about music, but, he knows that the world needs a warrior, and not a musician so bye bye dreams :( 

- He does do work with Ruri Kazama sometimes, and has a YouTube channel dedicated to covers and such

I bought it when I was abroad, and I got really into it after I played it as a break from the test studying period. My special skills is turning things I hate into things I like. Such an example is acrobatics! 5. On average, how many hours of sleep do you get a night? Ryo: 6 hours. I sleep at midnight and wake up at 6 in the morning. Mizuki: About 7 hours. Today was 6 hours. Yuto: 8 hours. Today was about 8 hours, but the ideal is 24 hours. I can sleep all day! Soya: 6 hours. I got 11 hours today so I’m super content. Ryuto: 7.5 hours. It was about 6 hours today. 6. What’s your favorite thing to eat lately? Ryo: Beef tongue. I buy a block of beef tongue, cook it in sesame oil, and mix it with some spring onions. Eating it like that is the best. Yuto: 7MEN Samurai’s Sasaki Taiko and I entered the company at the same time, so he’s always being cheeky with me. For instance, he saw the TV show I appeared on recently, “Everyone looked amazing …except for Yuto” (laughs). Soya: Tanaka Juri-kun. He gave me advice on the rap I did for “The Shounen Club.” Ryuto: (Sasaki) Taiko. He wants to get something simple across but can’t find the right words for it so the text comes off as angry (laughs). 10. What’s your favorite emoji? Ryo: Cute, funny faces emojis. Mizuki: LINE stamp of the white, round character with his thumbs up. Yuto: Stamps of my favorite anime character. I use the “OK” and “Thank You” ones a lot. Soya: Surreal character stamp of a slim kid. The one where he’s bowing going, “G’mornnnnn!!” is convenient so I use it a lot. Ryuto: Grinning and laughing white bear. I like the relaxed, half-baked ones. 11. What’s on your homescreen? Ryo: A picture taken at Disneyland of JUNIOR 5, including Saku-chan. Mizuki: It’s completely white. I can see the icons easier this way. Yuto: A picture of Mount Fuji I took outside of the hotel window on a family trip. Soya: It’s a photo of a single red rose I purchased. The photo quality on my phone is really good so the red is so vivid and beautiful. Ryuto: The view of the ocean at sunset. Around the summer, it was of Yuto’s expression upon taking a photo with Matsumoto Jun-kun in the dressing room. 12. What’s the most recent photo you took? Ryo: Of my own hair. Just dyed it black. Mizuki: Choreo video. Yuto: A picture of Matsumoto Jun-kun during his concert. The pose he was during while wearing pink gloves was really cool so I took a picture of it without thinking about it when I saw it in a magazine or something. Soya: A picture with friends taken in front of the emergency stairwell on the day of the school culture festival. But we took it with the light the wrong direction so it was a big fail (laughs). Ryuto: Taiko holding a ukulele. 13. What sort of pictures do you have the most in your camera roll? Ryo: Pictures with friends. When we go out, we ask people nearby to take photos for us. Mizuki: I don’t really take photos, they’re pretty much all choreography videos. Yuto: Photos of the members’ selfies when they steal my phone. I dunno what kind of faces Hashimoto-kun makes, Saku-chan’s photos are of eyes wide open, etc. (laughs). Soya: Family. My older sister loves photos so there’s a lot of everyone. I’m like cut off to the side. Ryuto: Of the members. I turn my camera towards the members in between rehearsals. I have a lot of good faces from Yuto. 14. What do you always have in your bag? Ryo: Breath mints. Mizuki: Mask and tissues. And a train character chewing gum. I loved that gum since I was kid so I always have it. Yuto: Perfume. I’m into scents, and I’ve been into jasmine lately. Soya: Hand wipes. I use it when there isn’t any hand soap when I’m out. Ryuto: A ballpoint ben. It’s the kind with both black and red ink together and it fits into my wallet. 15. What’s your most recent purchase? Ryo: Hawaiian jewelry. I bought something that has “strength” associated with it. Mizuki: A red smartphone case. (Takahashi) Kaito gave me a case that has a built-in battery that I’ve been using, but the color faded… so I went and bought the same color and style! Yuto: Hawaiian ring. Soya: Five rings from Hawaii. My fingers look pretty when I put them on. Ryuto: Mobile battery. 16. What do you want the most right now? Ryo: Motorcycle. I want to ride one during a concert! I have to get a license first, though. Mizuki: I want to try living on my own so I want a one bedroom apartment (laughs). Yuto: White sneakers or boots. I surprisingly like white, even the wristwatch I’m wearing now is white. Soya: A super amazing massage chair for when I’m tense. I never experienced it before, but I want to experience the first class cabin of an airplane. Ryuto: Macro lens for an SLR camera. 17. What type of girls do you like? Ryo: A girl who looks good with short, brown hair. Mizuki: A girl who supports and doesn’t reject my opinions. Yuto: Someone who isn’t clingy, a girl who is a bit of a tomboy. Soya: A bit of a dreamer who says funny, innocent things at times. Ryuto: Someone who talks for me. I don’t hate conversation, but I’m bad at bringing up topics… 18. If you were a girl, which member do you want to go out with? Ryo: None! I know too much about them all so it would be bad (laughs). If it’s any other group, then (Yoshizawa) Shizuya-kun. He’s so nice. Mizuki: Sakuma! Since he wouldn’t be disagreeable with me (laughs). Yuto: None (laughs). But, if Saku-chan was my boyfriend, it would be pleasantly fun. Soya: Hard pass on all (laughs). But if I had to choose someone, the person that fits the answer to the last question the most would be Sakuma. Ryuto: I guess Mizuki-kun. If I were his girlfriend, I’d probably fuss a bit over if he’s sleepy. 19. When do you feel the most happy? Ryo: When I’m talking with my friends at school about how we’re graduating soon. It’s a bit sad though—that only have a little bit of time left together with my classmates. Mizuki: When I hit the snooze button. And, when I eat yummy foods! Yuto: That feeling when I realize that so many different people love me now than ever before. Soya: Shampoo (hair wash) at the beauty salon. Ryuto: When I can relate to a book I’m reading. 20. What’s one thing you want to say to yourself about this past year? Ryo: You’ve grown up a lot! You now like black costumes more than the sparkly ones, you now have an interest in cars and motorcycles, your tone suddenly changed. Mizuki: Blossom. It’s your final year of high school, and it feels like it was spent brilliantly blossoming. Yuto: It was an incredible, spectacular year! Soya: You worked hard! Deserving of praise! Ryuto: You worked hard! You gave everything you had in all the work opportunities given this year.

GSvsAA - Dual Destinies - Character Profiles

In line with the AJ one, here’s the next in the line up. Check the master post more more of the GSvsAA translation project.

It’s worth noting that while Mr. Takumi is known to have some very obvious or random inspirations for his name puns, there are times when it’s tricky to figure out because of his choice of punny origins. Meanwhile, Mr. Yamazaki & co. tend to follow suit with the obvious, but their puns are often very straightforward and easy to deduce. Sometimes, a name has multiple layers of puns and chances are good that plenty of those puns make their way into the character’s design.

I don’t think it’s lazy design, since simplifying a character’s role in a plot means more care can be taken for the actual mystery, but sometimes it leaves something about the character to be desired. Then again, there are plenty of characters from the first four games in the series that aren’t so memorable.

I’m just obsessed with this series so I know them all. Ha.

Main cast

Athena Cykes - Kidzuki Kokone (希月 心音) kidzuki means “awareness” (kinda following how Trucy is named Minuki) and the second kanji in her surname is “moon”. The kanji in her given name, when pronounced shin’on, means “heartbeat”. It can also be translated literally as “heart sound” to refer to her ability to hear people’s voices of their hearts.

Simon Blackquill - Yuugami Jin (夕神 迅) yugami means “distortion” or “twist”, referring to his epithet, “The Twisted Samurai”. The kanji form a phrase meaning “god of dusk”. jin, written as 刃, is “blade”; while the kanji in his name means “swift”. It’s analogous to Edgeworth’s name, Mitsurugi, which is the name of a noble blade of legend. Trivia: He refers to the chief in person using the term danna, a title reserved for Lords and noblemen back during the days of samurai. Since this couldn’t be replicated in English without sounding drastically out of place, it’s been tamed down to a plain “sir”. (Imo, he could very well have gone with “sire” and it’d be just the right amount of tradition and respect, but I guess it doesn’t quite sound Japanese enough.) Incidentally, Taka is Gin, which can mean “silver”, or possibly like the English word (but it’s pronounced with a hard G).

Bobby Fulbright - Ban Gouzou (番 轟三) The ban in his name may refer to a “guard”, though being written as 万 means “many”. Combined with his first name, which consists of “booming” and “three” (like in “two’s company, three’s a crowd”), you get a whole lot of bombastic in one guy. Trivia: His catchphrase is shouting “JUSTICE!!!” in English at the top of his lungs and laughing triumphantly. Imo, the localization's “In Justice We Trust!” has a certain nuance to it that really makes it pop when you realize just who he is, though.

Episode 1

Gaspen Payne - Auchi Fumitake (亜内 文武) “Auchi” is simply “ouch”. His first name is the same as his brother’s but flipped. fumi (文) is “literature”; take (武) is “martial”. I suppose both of them are warriors of words, but I really think their parents the devs just ran out of ideas.

Juniper Woods - Morizumi Shinobu (森澄 しのぶ) mori (森) is “forest” or “woods”; shinobu means “to hide”. Meanwhile, the kanji for zumi (澄) used in the verb sumasu becomes “to look prim” or “to listen carefully”. These two definitions better relate to her from Episode 3, though. Trivia: In the Japanese version of this episode, the crime scene shows in English letters: “S I N O B U”. Since Japanese is typed using romaji, し can be either shi or si. Either way, it’s still pronounced the same. If it weren’t obvious enough from the intro, this spelling would have easily given away the real killer.

Ted Tonate - Barashima Shingo (馬等島 晋吾) barasu can mean a few things: “to expose”, “to take apart”, or “to kill”. He already covers the latter two in the first case, but the first definition doesn’t quite play in until the last one. The last syllable of his first name ties into his first name to make mashingo, or “machine language”; hence the keyboard.

Candice Arme - Kaku Hozumi (賀来 ほずみ) Her full name can be written as 確保済み, meaning “in custody”. kaku may refer to “square”/”cube”; probably referring to how she’s been hit. Her surname and the first syllable of her first name make kakuho, or “guarantee”, which seems to play into her English name.

Edit: Well, I totally screwed up this entry. My bad.

Episode 2

Jinxie Tenma - Tenma Yumemi (天馬 ゆめみ) Her surname as written here refers to the “heavenly horse” Pegasus. yumemiru means “to dream”. More on Tenma below.

Damian Tenma - Tenma Deemon (天馬 出右衛門) His first name comes from “demon”. Tenma, which is also the name of the village, is written as 天魔. It refers to the yokai of the Buddhist sixth heaven in the realm of desire who haunts people and deceives them into avoiding good. According to legend, Tenma tried (and ultimately failed) to lure the young Siddhartha away from enlightenment with earthly desires. Tenma Taro from this game is based on this Tenma. In Japanese folklore, he's described to have a bird-like appearance, hence we have jangly-cackling-bird-demon. 

The Great Nine-Tails - Great Kyuubi (グレート 九尾) He’s based on the Nine-tailed fox of Japanese legend, a yokai of immense power and influence and sometimes disastrous consequences. You know the one.

Rex Kyubi - Kyuubi Ginji (九尾 銀次) His last name is the same as the Nine-Tails. The gin (銀) in his name refers to his silver hair and to the Nine-tailed fox of legend, which is often portrayed as silver. ginjiru also means “to chant” or “to recite”.

Phineas Filch - Zeniarai Kumabee (銭洗 熊兵衛) zeni, as written above, is “money”. (This is what Capcom’s fictional currency zenny is based on.) His last name is a reference to the azukiarai, “The Bean Washer”, a yokai who resembles a small boy that keeps people up at night with the sound of washing beans. Filch here claims that he’s the grandson of an infamous thief who once kept people up by the sounds of his money-washing. His first name is made of bears: kuma (熊) and “bear”; yet he’s frequently called a tanuki instead, especially for his swindling ways.

Edit: Got that the other way around.

Florent L’Belle - Biyouin Shuuichi (美葉院 秀一) biyouin is “beauty parlor” and shuuichinichi is “once a week”. The kanji in his first name come to “excellence” and “[number] one”.

Episode 3

Aristotle Means - Ichiro Shinji (一路 真二) The kanji in his name together mean “one road, two truths”. ichiro, with the same kanji, means “straight” or “directly”, and shinjiru means “to believe”.

Constance Courte - Michiba Masayo (道葉 正世) michibata is “roadside” and masa (正) is “right” or “just”, to parallel Means’ name above.

Hugh O’Conner - Shizuya Rei (静矢 零) His name is most likely picked for the convenience of the recording that’s played during trial. In Japanese, the muffled recording sounds like it’s saying “Koroshite yare!”, which is Japanese for “I’ll kill you!” Thanks to Athena’s efforts, she reveals it’s actually supposed to say “Kora! Shizuya Rei!”, or a scolding “Hey! Shizuya Rei!” The kanji of his last name are “quiet” and “arrow”. His first name can also mean “zero”.

Edit: This one I made a mistake due to mistaken memory. It’s actually kinda hard to make out the te sound in the recording, so I assumed it was excluded.

Robin Newman - Atsui Chishio (厚井 知潮) atsui is “hot”; it can also mean “hot-tempered” or “passionate”. chishio is “blood circulation”, usually referring to hot-headedness. It also doubles over as a gender-ambiguous name.

Myriam Scuttlebutt - Uwasa Atsume (宇和佐 集芽) uwasa is “rumor” and atsumeru is “to gather”; thus, her full name comes to “gather gossip”. Trivia: Producer Eshiro is a huge MGS fan; hence Myriam’s M.O. of traveling under the cover of a box.

Episode 4-5

Solomon Starbuck - Hoshinari Taiyou (星成 太陽) His name comes from the phrase “hoshi ni naritai yo”, which means “I wish to become a star”. taiyou, as written above, means “sun”.

Clay Terran - Aoi Daichi (葵 大地) aoi is the color “blue”. daichi is “ground” or “earth”; also refers to the planet itself. His relative calm and the color blue was chosen specifically to pair with Apollo’s bright and passionate red. (In fact, it may very well have been the localization’s choice to name Odoroki as Apollo that led to the development of this game’s space theme. I don’t remember if it was mentioned in an interview or not, but I’m sure it played some role.)

Yuri Cosmos - Oogawara Uchuu (大河原 有忠) His last name means “bank of the great river”, which is a reference to the Milky Way. It’s known as “The Great River” in several cultures, including Japanese. uchuu, written as 宇宙, means “space” or “universe”.

Aura Blackquill - Yuugami Kaguya (夕神 かぐや) Kaguya is a reference to a famous Japanese folktale from the 10th century, Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. The main character’s name is Kaguya-hime, or Princess Kaguya, who was one of a mysterious people living on the Moon but was sent down to Earth and raised by an old bamboo cutter. I’m not too sure if this tale inspired her English name, but when Princess Kaguya was discovered as a baby, she was described to be the size of a thumb and glowing with brilliant light. The Moon people were weird. (I can also draw the parallel to Simon’s Taka, since Aura may come from the Latin root aurum for “gold”.)

Ponco & Clonco - Ponko & Ponta (ポンコ＆ポンタ) ko and ta are common endings to boys’ and girls’ names, respectively. Aura also likes to call Clonco “Ponkotsu”, referring both to how he’s basically “Ponco #2″ and ponkotsu, “junk”.

Metis Cykes - Kidzuki Mari (希月 真理) Her first name can also be pronounced shinri, meaning “truth”. In turn, shinri, when written as 心理, means “psychology”.

DLC Episode

Sasha Buckler - Umino Shouko (羽美野 翔子) umi is “sea”, and shouko, written as 証拠, is “evidence”. Thus, her full name becomes “evidence from the sea”. The first kanji in both first and last name have to do with “feathers” and “flight”. She’s quite a flighty personality for sure.

Ora "Orla" Shipley - Arafune Elle / Ale (荒船エル / エール) Her last name is made of the kanji for “wild” and “ship”. Her name is Ale, as a shortened form of “whale”, but it doubles as the alcoholic drink too. Actually, it triples as “air”, to complement her trainer. Her supposed real name is actually her sister’s name, and it seems it was just picked to sound similar.

Jack Shipley - Arafune Ryouji (荒船 良治) ryouji as 療治 means “treatment”/“cure”, possibly referring to how he saved two precious orcas and returned them to health.

Norma DePlume - Uratori Reika (浦鳥 麗華) uratori refers to “gathering evidence” as for a news story. reika as 冷夏 becomes “cool summer”. It can even be written as 零下 to mean "sub-zero". She’s quite the contrast to the rest of the sunny crew.

Marlon Rimes - Itsuka Ikuya (伊塚 育也) itsuka means “someday”; the kanji iku (育) means “raise”, as in pets or children. In other words, he’ll “become a real trainer someday”. His name may have been chosen for its easy rhyme as well.

Rifle (ライフル) She was named for her dangerous temper, and probably as a shout-out to Mr. Takumi’s naming of Missile. Her daughter Sniper also keeps the same name.

Herman Crab - Sugomori Gaku (巣古森 学) His last name may be referring to su-komori, or “nest-babysitter”, since he keeps li’l Sniper up there. Even the first kanji in his last name is the right one for “nest”. gaku as above is “learning” or “study of” a subject.

Azura Summers - Natsukaze Suzumi (夏風 邪涼海) natsukaze means “a summer cold”, but it can also literally mean “summer wind”. It was picked probably as a stark contrast to Norma’s Japanese name. suzumi is “cooling off”, like outdoors in the breeze.

Mr. Shuba arrested, democratic activist, "Umbrella movement" student leader, Hong Kong police suspected of violating the National Security Law

According to several Hong Kong media, Hong Kong police arrested prominent democratic activist Zhou Yan (English name: Agnes Chow) (23) on the 10th on suspicion of violating the National Security Maintenance Act (National Security Act) of Hong Kong. On the same day, police arrested seven founders, including the founder of the media group that publishes the democratic Hong Kong newspaper "Changhwa Nippo," and other members of the media group, as well as executives of the newspaper, on suspicion of violating the National Security Law. And the crackdown on democracy is in full swing.

Mr. Zhou has appealed to the international community for support for the Hong Kong democracy and is widely known in Japan. In 2012, participated in a campaign against the introduction of patriotic education. In 2014, he also worked as one of the leaders of a student group in the "Umbrella Movement" aiming to realize a democratic election system. After that, he continued his political activities by belonging to the political group "Hong Kong Zhi Zhi", but after the enforcement of the National Security Law in June this year, he dissolved the Hong Kong Zhi Zhi and continued his activities as an individual. The details of the charges of arrest are unknown.

When Mr. Zhou aimed to run for the 18-year legislative assembly (parliament) by-election, he was banned from running by the election administration authorities because his political assertion included "Hong Kong independence" as an option. Arrested and prosecuted for illegal incitement and other charges related to the demonstration in June 2019, and the case is under trial.

Mr. Rei, who was arrested on the 10th, is a person who has been criticized by the Chinese state media as "the head of an anti-middle molecule that confuses Hong Kong". According to the Hong Kong newspaper, police applied to Rei Article 29 of the National Security Law, which forbids collusion with foreign powers to endanger national security. Rei met with Vice President Pence and Secretary of State Pompeo in the United States in July 2019 and requested assistance to the Hong Kong democracy. However, the National Security Law does not detect the behavior before the enforcement, and details of Mr. Rei's charges are unknown.

10 Mangas Featuring Black Characters You Need To Read Now

Black manga characters are so important for Black nerds who love watching anime and reading manga.

When I think of Black manga and anime, I think of the Boondocks.

The Boondocks comic strip was my first introduction to the concept of anime that centers Black and other characters of color. The art reminded me of my then new found love of Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Inuyasha. The Boondocks gave birth to fans who desired to see themselves represented in not just media but in animated worlds, too.

The Boondocks cartoons gave me hope. They gave me hope that it is possible for creatives of color to appreciate and infuse non-American art styles and create a new genre that can reach mainstream media success. The influence of Asian culture can be seen in Black American culture. And Aaron McGruder doesn’t get enough credit for allowing fans and minority creatives the opportunity to envision themselves through the lens of manga. Before McGruder, the only Black American and Japanese infusion many were accustomed to was the Wu-Tang Clan.

So with all that said, I think there are more people who are actively searching for mangas that center Black characters and inner-city settings with a prominent Japanese influence. I know you want to read them, and that’s why I’ve put together this list for you to dive into.

SORCERORITY BY MIKHAIL SEBASTIAN, GEORGE WATSON Picture A Different World meets Harry Potter. Sorcerority follows a young girl who enrolls at a Historically Black Coven and University of Magic just to learn her place there wasn’t won by her own merits but because of a higher, more powerful authority. If you are into ancestral stories and have a desire to read more about magic and witches of color, this manga is for you.

XOGENASYS BY JOHNNY O’BRYANT, TRE MCINTOSH, NIKOLAS DRAPER-IVEY If you like sports and manga, you should give this a try. There are tons of fighting scenes with gang members and a host of bad guys, but there is also an inspirational story with the main character learning to be a dangerous, unmatched fighter.

ADORNED BY CHI BY JACQUE AYE Adorned By Chi is a nerdy, Black girl-centered brand that sells clothing and trendy trinkets. Creator Jacque Aye started writing manga that reflects her customers and her own personal interests. If you are looking for the colorful, kawaii-type manga, you can download one of her many issues.

RAZOR-MAN BY BILL MASUKU Part mystery, part drama, this is a manga set in Zimbabwe. There are currently two volumes available for you to get familiar with. If you are into family dramas that are packed with secrets, this is the title for you.

DIARY OF A MAD, BLACK, WEREWOLF BY MICHELINE HESS Who would have thought that a werewolf would offer progressive social commentary on race and inequalities in America? The humor is dark and relevant and yes, it is a horror story, but the horror in this manga is a reality for a lot of minorities in America.

LOVE! LOVE! FIGHTING! BY SHAREAN MORISHITA Love! Love! Fighting gives you everything you want from a romance manga: a cute love story, conflict, relationships, and hope. There aren’t many body-positive love stories in general, let alone mangas, so feel free to indulge.

BLASTER KNUCKLE BY SHIZUYA WAZARAI A historical fiction set in the 1800s before Black Americans are freed. Things get bloody fast when the Klansmen are revealed to be flesh-eating monsters who need to eat Black people to survive. Puppet Pt.1

I just realized that I have so many OCs who have bad relationships with their parents which becomes a part fo their motivations, in this series, I will be exploring those OCs. 

Dragon Raja characters 

 Ren Shizuya

Ren Shizuya was taken from his home in Hokkaido, Japan after his parents died in a Car stash staged by his parent’s friend, and secret mad scientist, Alec Herzog, or director Herzog. He was one of the oldest and first of the seven experiments known as ‘Project Swan’ who all lived at Black Swan Bay orphanage. 

Ren had elder dragon blood forced into his system by his believed father figure, Herzog ever since the age of two. Herzog used his so called ‘Children’ to hunt down the forces that came to the secluded bay, often mutating the poor souls and then having his children hunt them down, saying that they were ‘monsters.’ 

The blood forced into Ren made his power extremely unstable and deadly, many years of discipline weren’t enough however, as a strong emotion could easily trigger his power. He was trained harshly for hours on end beside the other children of Black Swan Bay, and eventually found out about Herzog’s experiments, which crushed him. 

Later, he went on to Cassel College, found by Principal Anjou beside his adopted sister, both with amnesia. And he eventually fought his mad father figure and reclaimed his family fortune, including the mansion in Hokkaido. His bloodline ends with him however, the Shizuya bloodline cannot continue, as with each generation, the ratio of dragon blood to human blood grows. Herzog’s experiments pushed Ren’s blood to the limit, which is why he lays his family power to rest.

Aisha Shizuya

Initially named Aisha Agape, she was tossed around until she turned eight and Herzog took her and Renata, her almost sister figure, to his orphanage. Before that, her already wealthy and abusive parents passed her off to a cult in Moscow, Russia in favour of her more powerful older siblings who had higher concentrations of their bloodline their names have since been erased however, as they died after betraying their teammates during an SS ranked mission in Greenland. 

Herzog brought her to Black Swan bay and used her and Renata as parts of his experiment ‘Project Swan’ who increased the dragon blood concentration in her to levels well past her elder siblings. She was one of his favourites because of her rare powers labelling her as a ‘Soul Dancer’ Herzog never got his filthy hands on her powers however, as when she learned about them she vowed to never use them and instead favoured using her EX Mirror to fight instead. She’s only broken this vow once, when healing her beloved, Chime Gen.

Aisha eventually went to Cassel with her brother, Ren and started a new life there, quite literally considering her amnesia. She doesn’t quite recall everything before the college, but she’s happy that way. She went on a mission to Japan, where Herzog, now known as the King’s Blade, almost got his hands on her. 

She’s abandoned the Agape family as she has cousins that survive and keep the family going, she wants no part in it as the family has a long history of abandoning children without a high concentration of Dragon blood, and even abusing those they kept around, women in the family were also commonly sexually abused by their spouses in order to get the perfect child.

Also for faves, going by generation: Lina, Hang, Yuliya and ahdhd honestly picking a fave from the 91st Gen is sorta hard because they're all iconic in their own right to me but idk, Dai makes me laugh so much so I guess Ill pick him.

Henrique and Lina

Henrique actually took a business major once he graduated from Totsuki! Lina on the other hand started up her restaurant already in Japan! They had a long distance relationship for a while before Henrique came back and built... a restaurant literally besides Lina’s. They’re sort of teaming up in a sense because meals for his restaurant, and the sweets from hers!

Mi and Tatsuya

They made a restaurant together! However, their rivalry is still on in the kitchen. They always have a competition ongoing, whether it be the most served food or who can make a new menu better. Sometimes even the people in the restaurant can hear the banter and it... doesn’t upset them They’re interested on what they are talking about. [They acted married for some years before actually getting married]

Christelle Morin

She successfully built her own restaurant when she went back to France! She has a total of three restaurants. Two in France and one in Japan [in the request of Dai]. She actually also took college in an elite cooking school in France! [She went to Totsuki because in the France school, they were only offering it in college, not high school]. 

Dai Adachi

After he graduated from high school, he actually majored in education! Once he finished college, he decided to apply to be a teacher of Totsuki and he was accepted! He was one of the best people in his generation, and he was praised for his jump in skill once he came back. [He also wanted to see the children of his ships, but that’s just a bonus].

Kaoru Atitarn

He got to open the restaurant of his mother again, but after hearing the story of what happened to his family by Dao, he also opened his father’s restaurant as well. He’s currently managing and cooking for two restaurants, but they open alternately [so he does travel a lot]. He decided to go straight to cooking after he graduated from Totsuki instead of college.

Masae Milas

Before successfully getting the diner of her family because she still has to beat her father in a cook off, she spent some months in Greece itself so she can learn more about her specialty. However, she came back to Japan to learn more things about it too. After about 3 years after graduation [and studying about food in those 3 years], she became the lead chef of her family diner.

Everlyn Shea

She is the one who has the most branches for her restaurant. She has 5 restaurants in total. Three in Britain, and the two others in America. She’s one of the more busy ones and she’s keeping up with her family’s reputation of chefs! She decided to minor in Psychology and Business, but major in Culinary Arts.

Sung Yong-Chol

Despite what his family claims [and being a big disappointment to them], he still decided to become a chef. However, he also did follow what his family wanted. He doesn’t actually prioritize his restaurant, but he focuses on his acting career more. However, he does open his restaurant every Weekends! He has a famous restaurant in Korea which people can get in only through reservation.

Shizuya and Yuliya

Unsurprisingly, they have a joint restaurant together! They are also one of the first people in their generation to get married! They have a family restaurant in Ukraine and Shizuya is the lead chef and Yuliya is the sous chef but also the business head. Shizuya took a major in culinary arts and Yuliya took a major in business management!

The Whole 93rd Generation of this Dorm

They actually have a joint restaurant. No joke. These 4 are extremely close to each other and they didn’t mind the idea that Miray brought in! They’re their own family now. Ethan was the one who hesitated the most but he agreed at the end thinking his younger brother really deserved to be the chef of the family restaurant instead and he realized how... he wanted This more than the family restaurant. The other’s didn’t even hesitate in agreeing to this! 

Hang and Ethan took a culinary major! Meanwhile Miray took a Business Major and Lyron took a Chemistry Major!

Travis Japan made a cool appearance on their first cover of "anan". Their round-table talk start with their thoughts on the cover shooting that they heard the day before the shooting!

Shime: I was surprised to see the schedule. How fast it came true!

Noel: Of course I was surprised and delighted, but I also thought, “What will our shooting be like? We will be undressed?” (lol).

Chaka: A little while ago, Kaito (Nakamura) and I appeared in “anan” together.

Umi: At that time, when I came to the shooting, I talked to Chaka, "We become famous." I thought it was an honor because only limited people could appear on the cover.

Shizu: I'm glad that "anan" shoots a lot more cool than I really am. The first time I appeared in “anan”, I took pictures of the magazine with my phone right away.

Kura: This time, shooting with using water was a fresh experience for me. It was the first time for me to get wet by such a lot of water and change my underwear for shooting.

Genta: I thought I changed clothes to go a location shooting. For example, athletics.

Genta: I thought I would fall into the water.

Kaito Matsukura

Until a while ago, I went to the gym once or twice a week. I mainly train the core and inner muscles that are necessary for dance. The battle rope, which swings a huge rope, is the toughest. I also ride on a balance ball with my knees bent. What I want to tone up is my arm. The reason is that my arms are long and thin, so the silhouette when I dance is not very beautiful. I think I can alleviate even a little by toning up its muscles. Nowadays, I often wear large long-sleeved clothes to cover the length of my arm, then I feel like I can dance more boldly if I have a body that does not need to be covered with clothes. For me, muscle training is all about performance.

I think Yuta Kishi has a good body. I admire what he is tough on himself in everything, like not only muscle training but also performance. By the way, I think my body is flexible. There used to be a time when I used to stretch flexibly after taking a bath every day, so it might be effective. I haven't done it recently, so I feel that it has become a little stiffer, and I feel the importance of continuing. The texture of the body may be quite hard. Shizuya Yoshizawa

I'm more interested in mental training than in physical training. When I started to meditate about three months ago, my concentration and my short-term memory improved, so I became to learn choreography very quickly. I meditate every day for 15 minutes with soaking in the bath, playing the sounds of nature, and adjusting my breath. Sometimes I do it outside as well. I feel that I have been getting able to dealing with the situation, such as where my quick jokes left people cold or where our members heat up during the meeting, better than before. I train my body ... sometimes (lol). Because I played a lot in the housing complex when I was a kid, my core is strong, and muscles get to be toned up naturally just by dancing. In the last year's stage "Toraja-NINJAPAN-", my abdominal muscles were shaped even though I did nothing. I thought I had to do something about this and ate a lot. Many fans say they like my plump body, so I think I have to keep it. However, my shoulder is fairly solid. If I compare its hardness ... , rocks? By the way, my bottom is like a slime that is elastic and gooey. I have thick thighs. Because of that, I've repeatedly torn the crotch part of the costume on the stage (lol). Among our members, my ideal body is Miyachika. Chaka also has a plump body, but when I touched his shoulder while dancing, it was stronger than I expected. That was cool.

Readers who are thinking about building up your body should set long-term goals rather than short-term goals. In order not to be frustrated, it is important to enjoy yourself without being impatient.

Noel Kawashima

I have been training my body at the gym since I was a college student. It is around the chest that I focus on training. I look pretty slender, but my chest is 100 cm, which is the largest of all our members. I started seeing the “Takarazuka Revue” recommended by various people, and then I learned the importance of posture in dance. No matter how brilliant the dance is, the round shoulders makes it look weak. I think the pectoral muscles and the latissimus dorsi are indispensable to keep the back in the correct position all the time. If I compare my chest to something, it's like starch with water. Do you know the dilatancy phenomenon? The liquid that is thick becomes like a solid under pressure. Similarly, my chest is usually soft, but it gets harder under my pressure (lol).

The body I admired is that of a statue of David. It is ideal in that it has strength in addition to flexibility. Once I gain such a body, I would like to try triathlon or charity marathon on 24-hour television. Genta can also run quite a bit, so it's a good idea to pass a baton with him. Among our members, I think Shime (Shimekake) has a good body. He is not an innately strong body, but he is a hard worker. There is a point where I learned from Shime to make myself strict with myself.

My job is to be on stage, so I'm training hard. And fans can also continue training when you find secondary pleasure, like "I want to be seen by someone" or "I want someone to praise me." . It's okay to skip, so start when you think.

Day 6: Shokugeki / Central / Ice

I had to draw Team Central from my ocs!! These 3 chose to pick the side of Central because they were convinced that it was the better side. Plus, why would they rebel against them? Also there’s a lot of angst for them in this arc so it’s really fun for the dorm.

Also the other three pictures shows some of the shokugeki battles of this arc between my ocs!! Everlyn, Kaoru and Masae are all part of team rebels!! To explain the mechanics of how this went, it’s like an elimination match!! If you lose, you’re eliminated and you have to have a shokugeki with the next person!!

I really had fun with this?? Especially the expressions?? [I mean the last picture especially jkgbdfg] I hope you like it!!
