the avatar state is such a good reference point for ivy and possession omg. like it could go in a way where as she gets more and more desperate in her fight to protect the natural world from humanity, she gets careless, violent, uncontrollable and uncompromising. and her eyes definitely glow.
but Ivy’s usually very logic driven i feel like, so deep down she wants to write it off. she’s insane, she’s exhausted, she knows she’s fighting a battle she can’t win as long as capitalism exists. maybe she’s just dissociating even further, maybe she’s still beholden to the very human limitations that held her back as Pamela Isley, be it anxiety, depression, manic episodes etc.
or maybe it’s something more? maybe ivy wants to write it off as nothing, but to the two people she’s closest to, to harley and selina, they can see that there’s nothing left of pamela and there’s nothing even left of ivy when she truly loses control. when she loses control the Green starts talking through her, and the green can’t see Harley or Selina through the fog. not like ivy can.
also for Halloween Harley’d be Shrek, Ivy’d be fiona, and Selina’d be Puss in Boots that’d be funny bcz they’re girfriends gay girly giiirls
Astonishing!! I don’t know what I love more about avatar state-esque tropes - watching someone go apeshit and unleash an awesome, untamable amount of power, or the person who loves them most throwing self-preservation out the window and braving the might of that power to grab their hand and bring them back to earth. Chef’s kiss.
