You are really gonna complain about the turtles being ship with human characters when the concept of human characters and humanoid animal characters being ship together and having romantic relationships has existed since the beginning of fiction, not just in TMNT.

And who cares if they “never follow through with it”? It was an 80s cartoon! Things aren’t going to be consistent and I don’t care. 87 Mikey also flirted with other girls besides Kala (same thing can be said about 2012 Mikey with Renet) and I still think they are cute. I’m happy with what we were given and I won’t complain. In the end, I still think the 87 ships are cute.
