One of the rewards for donating during the G.O.B.L.I.N.S fundraising stream was to get Trexel to defend you from the institute (which institute? depends on the defense). Fallen London has added a feature where you can hire this Luckless Captain guy as an Agent to run a ship for you, loan him some of the equipment you're not using, and then let him do tasks for you in the background. It's neat! Naturally there's a lot of funny applications of getting to play dress-up with this NPC and the various wild things FL counts as "equipment" -- one of which is... a nightmare of Poor Edward??? if you married him then you can LOAN THIS GUY YOUR NIGHTMARE HUSBAND??????????? THIS IS MY FAVOURITE ONE, I couldn't stop thinking about it
