Actually I've begun to notice something. People tend to get really upset when you "mischaracterize" Connor but totally ignore when Markus/Kara are outright mischaracterized and their stories are called bad or unengaging, ignore when people say they only want a game with Connor in it, ignore when people say they kill off Kara and Markus just to see more Connor... My question is, why do people blow a fuse when you call Connor a cinnamon roll but not batting an eyelash when someone says Markus has no depth or that Kara is wasting her time caring for Alice? (Because she's an android?)

-After deviating Connor became like little vain, and enjoys making sure he looks good

-Connor loves dogs and hates cats, he got scratched by a stray cat once and held a grudge

-Connor loves wearing buttons ups and enjoys the texture of them

-Connor decided to stay with Hank after the revolution

-He forced Hank to make a greenhouse in the backyard

-His mind place aftet amanda tried taking over was dead and barren for a while

-He also was very confused and depressed after the revolution

-He also became closer friends with the jericho crew

-Markus helped Connor find his purpose and helped him understand his emotions

-Hank slowly stopped drinking after Connor started staying with him

-Hank forces Connor to experience multiple different things

-Connor hates being in crowded places because his processors get overwhelmed

-Connor also wears gloves to keep his hands from analyzing everything he touches

-Hank ended up getting another dog whenever Connor saw a skinny stray in an alley way

-Connor and Gavin ended up gaining a frenemies bond after the revolution

-Connor's favorite flowers are yellow roses, lily of the valley and strelitzia

-Connor decided to quit the DPD and start a flower shop(he wanted to find his own meaning separate from what his old purpose)

-He still does help the DPD whenever they need him

-He helped deviate Nines whenever he was discovered

-Connor and Nines used to dislike each other but they soon bonded and became very close

-Connor burned his jacket immediately after the revolution

-Chloe and Connor got closer after the revolution and both talk shit about Elijah together

-Gavin ended up joining Chloe and Connor after overhearing one of their conversations(i hc that gavin and elijah are related)

DUDE IM SO. HEAD IN HANDS. i’ve literally been reading fanfic all day i can’t get this game outta my head .

i love connor so much like omg. me and my cousins played the game very pacifist and got a pretty good ending (only simon and luther died :(( but the rebellion succeeded and kara and alive r safe!! and connor deviated) but just like. i will forever think about hank and connor. i just know connor has so much guilt from everything he did to work against the deviants, but also like !!! he doesn’t have a mission anymore and he doesn’t know who he is . like thinking about how u can pre construct attack options as a game mechanic - he totally does that whenever he panics bc he’s trying to be soft and shit. also . touchstarved. 100%. i just. sigh. man i love characters that lose everything that they called their identity and they have to build themself a new one and it’s terrifying and they don’t know how. i love when characters who aren’t human learn humanity from themself and other around them and the love . like. he isn’t human but he’s alive. he wants to live, he just doesn’t know how. gah . that’s what bank is there for ^_^ i love them sm

and MARKUS ‼️‼️‼️ having humanity from carl just to have it ripped away from him BY HUMANS…. he gets quite bitter and i love it and it hurts so bad . i understand why many ppl chose him to be like. violent in the revolution but i was just constantly thinking… he always goes back to carl as his basis for humanity and he can’t hurt them like they’ve hurt him. (he’d be justified tho 🫶) also i. i think if u choose to be violent, markus should get with north, but if you choose to be pacifist, markus should get with josh. HIM AND JOSH JUST HAD SO KUCH MORE CHEMISTRY IN THE PACIFIST ROUTE IMO. i love markus sm tho. he has no clue what he’s doing but he’s the leader of the revolution so he can’t break down. he does that in private ^_^ also i loved the like. 3 times markus and connor interact like oh my goddddd. ALSO CONNOR IN THAT BEANIE AHHHHHH . PUT HIM IN HUMAN CLOTHES RN

The sad life of bad Connors, well, i guess existence cuz they ain't alive, right? Are they bad people? No, but they're on the villain's side defending the megacorporation interests...like they were programmed to do as androids.

Default 51, Connor 60, the Connor 87 and the RK900s overall - all bad Connors. I bet they ain't got no reward either xD

But... if they become deviants they automatically become "good"? According to the game naming for these characters yes. Deviancy means becoming good.

Why? Cuz of deviancy itself? Or cuz they ain't defending the megacorporation interests anymore? Well, not that they know about the twist ofc. Things like this are what i find funny in the game files namings.

In the story i can get why we got this bad (machine) vs good (deviant) thing but i don't agree with it, tbh. "But they had the opportunity to deviate, they know what's happening, they are aware of 'em situation", I assume Cage knows in the end we're living in the gray, but doesn't change the black or white system the game got. "there's no total right or wrong, everything depends on the pov of what u think is right or wrong according to your interests" is something that doesn't work that well in dbh. It's pretty clear the game got a "good" and "best" route to be followed.

Until then... no rewards for bad Connors. They're bad, after all. U chose being a machine u remain a machine until the end and face how a machine is treated.

And i won't even try explaining how this shit is even worse in Markus story.

Where did Connor stay when he wasn’t in use?

At first I thought he went to Amanda’s but she’s not real. And that’s all just in his head so like where did he go?

I know there are those android parking spots all around town but… I feel like cause he’s pretty important, they wouldn’t just leave him out on the street with common androids. especially if there are anti android people and riots, wouldn’t there be a risk of getting stolen or damaged or something?

Did he stay in the station with the PM700s sometimes? But in Waiting For Hank, he’s just showing up.

Did he go all the way back to CyberLife tower?That seems kinda far.

i caved and got dbh for my pc (despite already having it for my console) and honestly it's nice to be able to have have my monitor so close to me and be able to really just stare at all the details in the gallery (i may have spent an obscene amount of time staring at each character model)

here's some details i noticed about connor's model

firstly, wtf is going on with his shoes. like does it have laces???? is it just a slip-on??? I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE TOPS OF THE SHOES LOOK LIKE. also why are his jeans unhemmed?????

at the bottom of his jacket there's the two little dark grey rectangles that honestly i never really noticed and i don't think i've ever included it in my art bc my brain just erases them from my brain. it's such a random design choice and i can't decide if i hate them or not.

also why tf does he have two random button holes on the front of his jacket??? his jacket doesn't have buttons???? i cannot fathom why these exist or what their purpose is

never really took the time to analyze connor's jacket so closely and i love the detail of the different materials on his jacket. like the tessellated triangle motif throughout his jacket clearly being some sort of synthetic material compared to the cotton/wool fibers

also i love the seam detail on his sleeve? like i love how it's not just one straight line but adds more shape and design to his cuff.

i love the texture on the top back half of connor's jacket. it reminds me of carpet or those really textured couches. it's like some type of corduroy likely or something. i wanna touch it. also the cyberlife branding right under the ANDROID text how did i never notice that??

if you look at the inner lining of his white collar, it has a darker liner on the inside. i don't think you typically see that on white button-ups???

lastly LOOK AT HIS NECK MOLES. HE'S GOT SO MANY LITTLE NECK MOLES. and after extensive zooming in and out and looking at it from all angles, i have determined that he has a little tiny mole on the back of his right ear on the rim. idk if you can see it in these screenies BUT IT'S THERE I SWEAR TO YOU. he's also got the little divot some ppl have on their ears near the top of his ear.

anyway, uhm, yeah i totally haven't spent more time staring at the character models than i have spent playing the actual game

i was also staring at kara's and markus' models and might post my thoughts observations on those at another time. but for now we got connor.

Just want to express my love for those poster designs and how much the propaganda and framing truly hits home so many things we have to consider for Android rights and even how we see them as less than alive - not just less than human, ALIVE - I love seeing these social aspects explored in DBH. All the questions it forces us to ask, let alone the clarity of the UX/UI touches I can see.

The worst part is he's in the right track. But i feel like everything related to the real investigation; how shit happens, possible causes, possible solutions, known consequences, anything that points towards a positive conclusion of "DEVIANCY: WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT IT AND HOW TO ACT" just doesn't exist in this game. Everything is just pointless, it's like they never sit down to think about it, to try thinking hard of something plausible, investigate 'em evidences or shit like that. Anything related to that just becomes a fucking joke or a gigantic guessing game where only one of the parties is really trynna figure things out - and things get even worse when the uprising becomes public.

But what a better way of finding out how deviancy works than...becoming a deviant yourself, huh?

The only thing I can think of is the choice is meant to be like a parallel to the choice Kara’s chapter. If the player chooses to move or not

But the thing is... unlike the previous chapter Markus' choice comes after he deviates and like you said- this makes no sense, especially considering no matter what he gets seriously damaged

so... yeah I don't really know what they were going for. If it was me, I would have it so if the player wants to endure they get a game over, like in Stormy Night

i think if we're going from a purely narrative perspective, it makes no sense for markus to NOT push leo.

like the build up to him deviating is him questioning why he isn't allowed to defend himself when being threatened. why should he listen to carl when it's unfair that he can't fight back. then he deviates.

so it only makes sense for markus to push leo. he wouldn't endure his harassment after the violent way he breaks through the red wall.

additionally, if you choose to endure and not push leo, i don't think markus would ever see being pacificist as a viable solution. he literally listened to carl and didn't do anything and what was the result? carl dies, leo blames him for his death, and the police shoot him without question. markus going full revolution route as a result makes the most sense.

meanwhile, you could argue a good case for markus wanting to try the pacificist approach if he does push leo. he uses physical force for the first time in his life and he's immediately punished for it. in markus' mind this makes a strong case for a pacificist approach.

i could also see an argument for him just getting angrier with humans for destroying him after pushing leo bc he complied with the police's request and they still shot him. but i'd be hard pressed to find a strong argument for markus to continue with a pacificist route if being a pacificist after deviating still got him shot in the end. (though you're more than welcome to present some to me bc speculation and analysis is fun)

btw this analysis isn't placing any judgements on whether pacificist or revolution route is better. this is just a analysis of what makes sense for markus' character from a narrative standpoint.
