At the very least, @joerogan is one hell of a salesman even if he’s not even trying to sell it. On his consistency of praise of the oldest Bourbon in the USA, I tried a Buffalo Trace neat at the Pig n Whistle in Kyoto and liked it so much a bought a glass for a guy I shoot darts with who had 0% respect for American whiskey. He’d bought me a glass of Glenmorangie 18 an hour before and after he taste the Buffalo Trace, he became a fan of quality American bourbon. I bought this bottle after work today to share with Mrs S. I always liked to think of myself as a bourbon man. I love Bulleit, Woodford Reserve, Elijah Craig, Maker’s Mark, even Knob Creek. But this here? Buffalo Trace? Day off today, binge watching HBO’s ROME, which is one of the greatest shows ever produced. DEFINITELY 2 of my favorite scenes from The Wire. Aside from the fact that it wasn’t just one of the most badass shows in television history, AND the pure honesty of the show in terms of the game, policing, education, politics, and how the US Government’s “War On Drugs” literally destroyed our country and our community’s relationship with police. They had some of the BEST short scenes with great writing, subtext, and dialogue.
