Las brasileñas, destacadas en los 3.000 con obstáculos en Budapest

Las atletas de Brasil tuvieron una destacada participación en los 3.000 metros con obstáculos del Grand Prix de Hungría, realizado este jueves 8 de junio en el Lantos Mihaly Sportkközpont de Budapest, la ciudad que albergará el Campeonato Mundial entre el 19 y 27 de agosto próximo. Tatiane Raquel da Silva ganó esa prueba en 9:24.75, muy cerca de su récord sudamericano (9:24.38 desde el año pasado en Watford) mientras que Simone Ponte Ferraz fue 5a. con 9:36.54 y Mirelle Leite da Silva, octava con 10:04.29. En el caso de Simone se trata de su mejor marca personal y la eleva al tercer puesto de la lista sudamericana all-time. La española Marta Serrano quedó en segunda posición, con 9:27.07, seguida de la keniata Celestine Jepkosgei Biwot, con 9:27.34.  En salto con garrocha, Isabel Demarco de Quadros quedó segunda, con 4,10 m. La húngara Hanga Klener fue la ganadora, con 4,30 m, mientras que la italiana Virginia Scardanza quedó tercera, con 4,00 m. En salto en alto, Fernando Ferreira también aseguró el segundo lugar de la carrera, con 2,15 m, compartiendo posición con el húngaro Csaba Horvath. El vencedor fue Gergely Torok, también de Hungría, con una marca personal de 2,20 m. DEPTH

This month we headed back to the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Chiado, returning to the sunny garden for some delicious breakfast. We were surrounded by the beautiful blue paintings of one of the day’s speakers, Nelson Ferreira (the colour would gain more significance as the event went on). The atmosphere was relaxed but curious, with plenty of new connections being made over coffee.

Everyone went downstairs to the auditorium for the talks - on this occasion we were lucky enough to have two great speakers lined up. Pauline Foessel was the first, describing her interpretation of September’s theme ‘Depth’ in relation to her work.

As founder and director of Artpool, Pauline has successfully connected thousands of artists and curators. She told us about the rich and nomadic history of her career, spanning business school in her native France, her first connections with gallerists and how she moved to Shanghai and ended up in Portugal (the latter initially in collaboration with the artist VHILS). 

Pauline is passionate about using technology in order to help finance artists, and uses NFTs in her mission. As a startup founder she told us she struggles to incorporate depth in the process, but it can be found in her interactions with artists, curators, festivals and more. She left us with the assertion that when you really believe in something, you can find a way. In Pauline’s case, this means discovering exciting new digital revenue streams for the art world.

Nelson Ferreira is a visual artist and designer who imparted his wisdom on the depth of colour. He started with an introduction to the science of how humans perceive colour, and how it doesn’t exist outside of the human and animal experience. And yet, he pointed out, empires have risen and fallen, wars have been fought and love stories have played out in awe of this visual spectrum. He told us some fascinating stories involving the history of colour.

An entertaining speaker, he kept the audience involved throughout his various anecdotes. He lamented the “fake colours” and pigments which were dangerous in their application or created in stomach-churning ways.

Eventually he arrived at what he described as the only colours which have depth: purple and blue. This involved tales of Caesar and Cleopatra, the alchemy of glaziers, Boudica, the controversial history of indigo, puritans and the mines of Lapis Lazuli. And, lest we forget, a time when the UK commissioned the city of Newcastle to provide its citizens’ urine for the production of a desirable blue pigment.

 After all the laughs and learning, Nelson left us with something to mull over: “What you see a lot in the symbology of colours, is that colours do not exist.” We returned to the garden for another round of coffee and chats, buzzing with the excitement of the talks.

El atleta brasileño José Fernando Ferreira Santana, "Baloteli" (Pinheiros-SP), venció este jueves 18 de mayo en el Portarathlon - 5º Torneo Internacional del circuito de W.A. de Pruebas Combinadas, en el Estadio Municipal de  Naxos, Grecia. Fue en el imponente paisaje de las islas Cícladas. El brasileño de 24 años estableció su mejor marca personal, con 8.007 puntos. (tenía 7.944 puntos desde el 3 de agosto de 2019). De este modo se incorpora al privilegado círculo de decathletas sudamericanos por arriba de los 8.000. El polaco Rafal Horbowicz finalizó en segundo lugar, con 7.800 puntos, también su mejor marca personal, seguido del británico Harry Kendall, con 7.702 puntos. En el heptathlon ganó la australia Tori West cn 5.819, seguida por la polaca Julia Slocka con 5.720 y la griega Anastasia Ntragkomirovav con 5.636. Campeón del Trofeo Brasil Loterias Caixa 2022, en Río de Janeiro, ganó la Copa Brasil Loterias Caixas de Provas Combinadas de este año, a principios de abril, en el Centro Nacional de Desarrollo del Atletismo, en Bragança Paulista (SP). Baloteli consiguió los siguientes parciales en la competición de Naxos: 10,93/0.3 m en los 100 m, 7,24/1.6 m en salto en largo, 13,45 m en lanzamiento de bala, 1,97 m en alto, 49,15 en los 400 m, 13,98/1.8 en los 110 m vallas, 44,36 m en disco, 4,50 m en la pértiga, 66,88 m en la jabalina y 4:52,73 en los 1.500 m. Todas as vezes que uma família tentou adotá-la, não durou nem uma semana sem antes fugir da nova casa. Desde quando aprendeu a ler, e o orfanato lhe entregou uma carta dos pais dizendo o quanto a amavam e como doía ter que deixá-la, Leila estava convicta de que deveria mesmo buscar pela família biológica ao invés de aceitar uma nova. 

Saiu do orfanato aos dezoito anos, e pulou de emprego em emprego até se estabilizar no salão de beleza local, como cabeleireira. 

Nunca saiu de Valeta, principalmente devido as condições financeiras baixas, mas um dos seus principais objetivos é um dia deixar o país. Não que não goste de Malta, mas se sente presa à ilha, visto que nunca conheceu nenhum lugar além dali. Seu destino principal é o Brasil, onde ainda tem esperança de encontrar a família biológica e construir uma relação com eles. 

Todos os meses, junta a quantia de dinheiro que sobra do seu salário, e tem a esperança de um dia conseguir a quantia suficiente para conseguir a passagem para sair de Malta e se estabelecer no Brasil, um dos seus maiores sonhos desde criança.
