Onward to adventure!

Feeling rejuvenated even after his past defeat, Peppo and the ghosts once more maneuver into the halls of the wooden manor. This time he's careful to avoid that room - and to avoid peeking into random rooms at all, this time. With a huff, the chef makes it to one last hallway that he hasn't searched just yet.

And...

It's too quick, but also... the 'copy' of his weapon is his crossbow. So whoever it is seems to be interested in striking him with-- Oh no nevermind he hears the clickclickclick of the string being wound back.

He drops to the ground just in time for the bolt to sail over him. Peppo grips the floor with straining fingers, teeth bared in a wide scowl before he flings himself at the staircase. Clickclickclick The possessed man hurls himself up the steps, ignoring the sudden pain of his shin striking the stairs. All he can do is suck in air between his teeth and scurry like a wild animal, still on all fours...

All the way up to the roof...

So far, so good. Everything feels steady and secure, as Vigilante cautiously makes his way through the manor. One hand's on his crossbow, kept ready and loaded at his side. There's movement ahead, the sounds of careful feet on wooden flooring, and he sneaks forward -- only to see...

"Pizzelle?" The cowboy cheeseslime leaves his hiding spot, in case the confectioner had been startled. He approaches. "Vigilante!" Pizzelle waves, before his gaze is abruptly caught by movement above the two of them.

Pizzelle's hurt bad. Vigilante grimaces as he digs through the rubble and pulls the other free. It's going to be a rough journey up to the roof...

So rough and stressful in fact, that once he finally makes it (with his badly-damaged cargo in hand), the cheeseslime momentarily blacks out.

Oh dear. Here we go again. Pizzelle's patched herself up a bit, but her ascending is tricky. Even with her weapon in hand, everything just feels... like it's coming against her.

She creeps through one of the hallways, her eye catching movement. She turns to look, and.

Her head is pounding. She can hear her heart in her ears. She's dizzy and nauseated and the ache in her head makes the confectioner feel like her skull is trying to split open her skin so it can escape.

Pizzelle's mind has been knocked sideways.

That's not good.

Pizza Head had expected to see another portal to take him & the others after the battle against that giant slime that decided to flee from the battle. Heading inside the Woodland Manor, Pizza Head enters the massive dining room and noticing the utensils laying on the table.

But before Pizza Head could take anything off of the dining room table, strange blue birds show up from under the table and start to peck at his cheesy skin. He immediately runs out of the room and turns around to se that the birds have disappeared, causing him to sigh in relief and turn to head up the stairs to the next floor.

He's finally made it to the camp for this week and he find a quiet place to set down to rest while he empties out his bag to start sorting it all out and he still doesn't know what he's supposed to with all this gold. It's not gil. It's worthless to him. Perhaps there will be a currency exchange? He can hope.

He doesn't know what he's supposed to do with this crossbow either. He's still settled on giving it to Black Wind later once he finds the twins and returns back to him. They have to be here somewhere. He keeps missing them and they keep getting away from him the moment he gets them in his sights.

So now instead, the Misterican sighs a heavy sigh as he allows his mask to flood backwards and white starts to seep out into the space around them slowly as it rolls off his lips whether he wants it to or not.

Oh he's exhausted they have to be around here somewhere.

yeah, the medicine sucks, but if any of them get rough with wendy… she’ll give ‘em more than ointments to worry about. abby flexes her claws, keeping a sharp eye on everyone.

He finds himself drawn towards a specific room while exploring. The ghosts have their hands manifested and prepared once more. There's a sound... a sight. Someone is there in this kitchen, attempting to prepare a meal from thin air.

Peppo squints, wary but somewhat curious. What was this? Another foe? Potentially an ally? He cautiously edges closer. The figure stops chopping up the cutting board. They hesitate. They look over their shoulder at the man and his ghosts.

The knife they were using to chop nonexistent vegetables is suddenly between their fingers, and the figure hurls the blade at Peppo.

It strikes his shoulder. It digs in deep. Warmth immediately bubbles out of the wound as Peppo gasps in shock, and his eyes momentarily regain their color before rolling back again into whites. The ghosts compacted within him scream.

As the figure continues to throw assorted cutlery at the host, his spirits put down their hands against the floor. They fling Peppo's bulk at the hostile stranger, and as his body twitches and bleeds, the ghosts manifest every hand they can manage before gripping this unknown assailant. They dig their fingers in. They pull. They pull. With every last speck of energy they pull and pull until the figure can no longer be hostile.

The chef's eyes are closing. It takes an emergency tourniquet from a certain spirit to save him from further bloodloss, but it's too late.

Peppo has to leave. Now.

Curses Beware - The Vigilante Is Here!

He had hoped for a bit of calm and relaxation after helping Pizzelle with a zombie problem, but uh... that clearly isn't happening now. Ah well. Vigi stands up, boots appearing under him, and draws his revolver yet again.

"You better get to restin' in peace real damn fast."

"Since you wanted in that strange place and talked to that weird pig man. I had to surrender one of my bottles of Mist to get him to let me through. So... since the beginning." He explains as worried jade eyes watch the two of them to make sure they actually drink the water and eat the snacks that were given to them.

He's sighing again as another cloud of mist escapes him dramatically while shoulders dip low and his whole body seems to sag with exhaustion. He's drawing his mask back to his face as he watches the second round of white falling out him in a wave. Perhaps he should be a bit more mindful...

Ai and Yu were the ones who found this place.... maybe they know more than he seems to.

"Now I admit, I merely followed both of you in a fuss. I won't scold you for being reckless when I did the same thing - but when we get home I do want to talk to you both about being a bit more cautious."

He's sighing again as hands start shifting through his bag to look at all the extra things he's collected but doesn't know if he even has a use for.

His jade shifts back up to the children once he stops poking around in his bag. It would be impolite to scrounge for food now when he just put his mask back on. He doesn't need to infect the entire campsite with his mist.

"So perhaps you know a bit more than I do. What is this awful place? It's worse than Wonderland in the terms of danger."

Everything happens in a flash, though it's certainly a relief to know that it was, in fact, Kumo. That's good, at least they hadn't stumbled onto something that would get them hurt. Sure, they were alright now due to the potions that girl gave them, but that didn't mean they couldn't get the blazes kicked out of them still. But it would be okay... They weren't going to be hurt anyway, even if they still had plans to fight if something came up.

"We're okay, a girl gave us something which made us feel a lot better!" Ai replies, after they've already been given both food and water in such a hasty way. There surely would be scars left behind, they were both certain of that, but it wouldn't matter all that much, it didn't have to. And while they were sure they'd be able to scrounge up something from one of the patrons who had a skill roasting things over fire if it was needed, it was nice to get something that they knew was healthy.

Yu quickly drinks the water, though, which his sister takes after he's finished with it. It was refreshing in a way they couldn't quite describe, it's nice, very nice...

"How long have you been here, anyway?" Ai asks, hoping the question isn't a horrible one to ask. Hopefully he wouldn't think too much about the fact that they had come here so abruptly. Maybe they weren't so cooked...

So we back at it again with invading random places that don't belong to her! Pizzelle's fine with exploring -- and with potentially stealing some MORE shit -- but suddenly there's a gnashing of teeth...

"OH FUCK--"

Oh she has been mauled.

Vs The Oozing Menace Phase 1

Pizza Head smiled widely and chuckled to himself, as he had been expecting that the boss of this area to show up sometime soon. The pizza man puts the misty jar & gold away and puts his boxing gloves back on his hands before charging straight at the ancient slime.

Pizza Head was able to hit the ancient slime for good damage and was about to head back when he stepped into some strange slime that seemed to insnare him as the Huge Slime leaped into the air. The pizza man was able to get his foot out of the slimy bog and got out of the way in time as the huge ancient slime slammed down where he was at earlier.

The Hunt Continues...

She can't remember being this hurt in a while... It hurts... It hurts, it hurts, and she can't do anything about it. Those potions already ran out, of course they had... She's exhausted, but she'll try to hide it. Aside from the few adults, she was likely the most experienced. She can't show her frailty, her weakness. She's not supposed to!

As she makes it to the second floor, she can only hope to recover from this soon, before anything else appeared.
