now, i feel like when it comes to canon, the states prolly get paid as government employees. they work with their state governments, they have their silly little meetings, it’s more plausible that they’re government employees

however.

the idea that that’s just their job as states and don’t get paid for it. which means they’d have to find other means of living. which means that some if not most of these guys have worked in fast food/retail and dealt with those types of shenanigans
