FINISHED MY CONFERENCE PAPER WITH EXACTLY 49 HOURS TO GO BEFORE I PRESENT IT.

#I had to cut out several whole sections in drafting because I was planning a 15-20 minute thing #and my panel is so many people so I only have 12 minutes #but it’s done #I have run through it several times and it comes in at exactly 11:34 with the powerpoint etc #now I can finish knitting my frog and panic about traveling tomorrow

no offense but if you haven't watched chess på svenska at 1am then you haven't truly experienced everything chess has to offer. it's amazing. it's terrible. its bizarre. it's entirely in swedish. freddie lights a cigarette with the statue of liberty and then puts it out in a russian nesting doll. the arbiter's name is jan jacques van boren and he has a chorus of leg flapping secretaries behind him singing his praises. at one point he literally floats in midair like a swedish trickster god presiding over his kingdom. tommy körberg is there. absolutely insane production 10/10.

when it comes to the "hikari / yami" dyad stuff, seto / yami seto is a fun LITERAL parallel to yuugi / yami. like, sure, it's the soul of your ancient egyptian past life who lives in a gold item.

but the parallel with truly interesting metaphorical power is seto as his own "yami" i.e. the dark side of himself who commits violence out of anger and hatred (the same as what yami does for yuugi in the early manga), and the "hikari" / yuugi analogue in this instance is the hallucinations of his child self and/or mokuba, who strives to rein in that darkness. also there's an even DARKER darkness possessing kaiba (psychologically) and that's gozaburo.

#13sar #13 sentinels #Some maybe implied spoilers in tags #I am not okay in any way I love this game so excessively much #I'd need like a 500 slide powerpoint precentation but tldr #Hijiyama's route is my favourite and also Insanely good #Gouto's route is incredibly good and an unexpected favourite I didn't expect that to be as good as it was #They really saved the absolute best for last #I have beefed so much with how late Hiji's route is forced because I loved it from the prologue but I 100% understand and I am 100% okay #with it cause every single time I've been forced to wait for it it was so fucking worth it #Girlies after they finish Live to Protect and ESPECIALLY girlies after they finish Hiji's last event whose name escapes me now #But holy shit dude Hiji's route is excellent I can rant about it for hours #It's enjoyable as hell it's got Excellent plot reveals it hits EVERY emotional beat it pulls #Like she has it all #Not to say that the other routes don't they're all excellent Hiji's just my favourite out of the bunch and succeeds in All aspects #Whereas some routes like Yuki's I feel are Completely carried by how enjoyable Yuki herself is #While not succeeding as much in say the plot department #Which isn't a Problem but it's just something which makes me prefer routes over each other when some can hit Everything it tries while #others might neglect certain aspects in favour of others which doesn't make it Worse but makes it less complete as such
