A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Enji has no idea how to be affectionate since he was never “In Love” before. Everything he has ever done was to benefit him, so if he is genuinely in love with you he will have no clue what to do. 

His favorite physical affection is placing his hand against your lower back. It’s a simple gesture, and he can get away with doing it in public, but he honestly enjoys doing it in general. If his hand presses against your lower back as you are walking, it’s like he is trying to help lead you through an area. 

If you’re in private, his favorite form of physical affection is having you on his lap. He doesn’t always mean this in a sexual way because sometimes he just wants to hold you close. Having you pressed against his chest calms him and being able to hold you makes him feel as if he isn’t a complete fuck up.

The most affectionate thing you will get out of him is how he pays attention to you. He gives you his full attention when you speak, will surprise you with gifts involving your interests, and always will make sure you are content with your new lifestyle. Sometimes, he knows you better than you know yourself.

Enji would be an unusual person to call a best friend since his past is complete shit, but if you manage to break down those walls I suppose he could be a very loyal friend. 

He is one of those friends that will never listen to you? Like not in an insulting kind of way but more of a “You told me not to do this, So I will” Kind of way. He honestly could remind you of a cat at times because if you tell him no, he will do it. You believe that Shoto gets that trait from him.

Will spoil you a lot. Like expect random gifts all of the time. Oh a band in town you like? Shit he might as well buy you front row tickets and a VIP pass. He has the money. You want to open a cafe or a diner? Shit he will be your supplier and will handle the business section of everything. He honestly doesn’t mind helping you thrive.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

He doesn’t cuddle often, but he will indulge you from time to time. He normally will cuddle by having you sitting on his lap, letting you snuggle yourself against his warm body. He never has been good with affection, but he loves when you hold him on his lap. 

If he has a particularly bad day, he will pull you into a tight hug while shoving his nose in your neck. He will never speak about how he’s feeling, so instead just hold him and play with his hair until he calms down. Once he feels better, he will be more willing to talk.

His favorite time to cuddle is when he is going to bed since he loves to spoon. He keeps his bedroom cold, so cuddling while going to sleep is the perfect time to snuggle up to the warm man

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

He can’t cook. He is the kind of man that is completely clueless on cooking or cleaning since he has had people do it for him his whole life. Now, he would like how to learn how to cook, but it will hardly ever end well. He gets frustrated easily which only ends up with burnt food. Also, he hates cleaning, but will attempt to clean if you ask him to. 

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Depends on if he likes you or not.

If you both were doing this for publicity, or if it was just something he would do to use you, then he would be very blunt about it. A simple “We are over” Type of thing since he viewed your relationship as a business agreement more than for emotional support. 

If he genuinely cares about you, he will be much more gentle. He would express gratitude for the things you taught him, and would hold you close while warming up his body in an attempt to keep you calm. He wouldn’t show how upset he is by breaking up with you, but it really does hit him hard when he is alone.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

It depends on if he has feelings again.

If it benefits him, he would suggest marriage for a long term business agreement. There wouldn’t be many feelings and he would be just doing what he needs to. The ceremony would be very traditional, and he wouldn’t really show much interest in planning. If he didn’t care, he would suggest marriage early on. Maybe 6 months or so.

If he genuinely cares, it might be around 3-5 years before he asks you to marry him. Between being the new number one hero and building relationships, you would have to be patient. If you manage to wait for him, he would be extremely thankful. He would be pretty involved with wedding planning unlike his previous marriage, and wants you both to be happy. He does want some more traditional aspects of the wedding, but he will bend and let you have what you want too.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He’s honestly not that gentle. Expect some blunt words and bruised skin because he tends to just forget how he is. His tone will get harsh and he won’t even realize it, he will ignore you when he gets really stressed, and he can say things he doesn’t mean during arguments. His grip can be a little too tight, a little too rough, and he may hurt you on accident. Nothing is ever intentional, and he does feel guilty when he sees a bruise on your waist or wrist, but he never manages to stop being a bit rough,

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

He is really awkward with giving hugs. Like he will not go out of his way to ask for a hug, but he will tell you subliminally. He will nudge your arm softly and pout until you realize what he wants. He enjoys receiving hugs and will warm up his body in order to keep you in for longer, but he will never ask for them. Oh and he is a bitch for back hugs. Hug him from behind and rest your head against him. He will not move.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

He never really outright says that he loves you until after the Nomu attack. During the fight, he knew his family as well as you were watching so he gave it his all. The second he saw you in the hospital, he would say that he loves you for the first time. He would carefully pull you into a hug to try to comfort you before whispering it in your ear. It’s a very quiet and genuine thing, but that is one of the few times he confesses that he truly loves you.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Endeavor is horrible when it comes to getting jealous. If people are hitting on you and you are oblivious, he will walk his happy ass right up next to you and wrap an arm around your waist. He doesn’t give a shit who it is, or how he seems, if you are his he expects people to back off.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His kisses depend on a variety of factors. If he is busy with things or on his way to work, he will stop you, pull you in by your waist, and then give you a quick peck before leaving. If he gets jealous, his kisses are very deep, heated, and intense. If he is feeling romantic, they will be a bit more gentle but hungry, trying to get as much as he can. He is very good at kissing just because he has experience. His favorite place to be kissed is the corners of his lips. It never fails to make him grin ever so slightly when you peck him there since it is almost teasingly close to his lips.He personally loves to kiss your forehead just since it is something he can do quickly.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He is quite clumsy when he is around children. Even though he is a dad, he didn’t exactly play a very active role in his childrens lives. If he is told to babysit or take care of a child, he would be nervous just because he is very aware of how big, rough, and intimidating he can be. He also can be a bit impatient, so yelling at kids isn’t uncommon even if he tries not to. 

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Mornings with Enji can go two ways.

When he is in a hurry to get to work, you both will get up due to his many alarms he sets. This man sleeps like a rock, so normally you will be the one who has to wake him up. As you make breakfast, he will do everything he has to so he will be ready for work. He then comes out, eats breakfast with you, and will leave after giving you a quick kiss.

If he doesn't have to work, then he will stay in bed with you for as long as he can. He can be pretty lazy on his days off, wanting to do nothing more than recover as much as he can and rest as much as he can. He will get up when you do and will pretty much follow you around. He will be really clingy until he wakes up fully.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Nights are almost always very calm. You will ask how his day went and he will tell you over dinner. Once you both finish eating, he will suggest a shower or a bath with you since he just enjoys being with you. After that, he will hold you and go to bed. There really isn’t much to say here since nights with him are fairly normal.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

If you thought Shoto was bad with opening up, then you should see how bad Enji is. This man will not open up to you until after the Nomu attack. Even then he will struggle with admitting everything and will just tell you whatever comes to his mind. The best way to learn about him is to just ask him since he struggles with telling you about himself.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

When it comes to anger, it depends on when you meet him. Before the Nomu attack, he would get irritable very easily and big fights may happen more often than either of you would like them to. After the attack, he would be much more patient. He is more willing to take into consideration your feelings and would give you time or space. He can still be a bit irritable, but he is doing his best. 

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Enji Todoroki pays a lot of attention. He may not be the best with words or physical affection, but he almost makes up for all of that with how well he knows you. He remembers every important date, every favorite of yours, and almost everything you mention. The only time he would possibly forget is if he is distracted by hero work when you mention something to him. If he is nose deep in paperwork, can you really blame him for forgetting your favorite breed of dog or how you like your steak cooked? No, No you can’t.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

The moments right after the High-end Nomu attack. When he woke up to you with him at the hospital, worried out of your mind for him. It was unusual to him because he normally is quite angry about being in the hospital, but just seeing you there made him feel at peace. He would slowly pull you in and hug you tight (One of the only times he hugs you first) before telling you how much you have changed his life and that he loves you. By then, you would rather be in shock or tears because he actually told you he loved you. The soft kiss he gave you after is still one of his favorite memories since it really did confirm his feelings towards you.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

He doesn’t feel the need to be protected but goddamn does he protect you. He is the number one hero, so he is very aware of how dangerous you being in a relationship with him can be. Because of this, he is pretty protective of you. If you are willing, he would have one of those location tracker apps on your phone but he wouldn’t ever force you into it. He pretty much just likes to know where you are at just in case somebody tries to just pick you up. Also panics if you don’t answer his calls or texts.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

When it comes to dates, it would be maybe 40%. He doesn’t try a lot at dates since they usually consist of dates at home, but there will be the occasional date where he takes you out. He tries a bit harder on those to make sure you are happy. Those are usually anniversary dates.

He gives gifts often so its safe to say he tries at least 70% there since he gives them so often. They will always be something you enjoy, but they're more of a “I thought of you when I saw this” Sort of thing.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He gets REALLY into work and will sometimes distance himself from you. He truly doesn’t mean to do this, but it just happens. When it gets bad, just remind him a few times that he needs to step back and relax. 

He also has a habit of speaking for you. This normally happens under stressful situations where he is really just trying to think of what would be best for you, but it can come off as controlling and as if your opinions don’t matter to him.

Can get into some pretty intense arguments with you. When stress just builds on him and he blows up, he has a habit of saying things he truthfully doesn’t mean. The shit just sort of happens and he will often try to get your forgiveness by giving you gifts since he is really bad with apologies. 

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He is concerned about his appearance only because he is the number one hero. He has to be the one people look up to, so he does his best to keep himself looking good and professional. After the Nomu attack, he is a little insecure about the large scar across his face but does eventually come to terms with it. 

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

If he genuinely cared about you, he would feel incomplete without you. He will find himself doing things as if you were still there before realizing that you aren’t there. He is so used to you being there that they just sort of happen at this point.

If you were dead, He would mourn for you and feel broken by the fact that he had finally felt some sort of peace with someone only to have that taken from him. In his hero work, he would become much more intense and less forgiving. He would seek revenge for your death as well, and would try to kill the person who killed you.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Enji totally loves being babied. Like you would expect Enji to be some sort of man who hates self care days, but he gets surprisingly into them. Spa days are a common thing with him and he will drag you with him to get massages or facials. 

Speaking of massages, he absolutely loves having you rub his back. It doesn’t matter if you’re really good at it, but the feeling of your hands rubbing against his tense muscles makes him melt. Like want to make him weak for you? Offer to massage his back for him. He will never turn that down. 

He’s pretty good at giving massages too. His warm hands can work out knots and relax tense muscles so easily. He does tend to go a bit on the harder side when he is giving the massages, but they have to be damn good.

Also I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before, but I could see Enji being Bisexual since he would be more interested in someone for how strong they are. He would never really be open about it, but I could see him having a crush more on men than women.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

He really wouldn’t be big on having someone who is more of an Endeavor fan. Like he is looking for more of a lover than a fan, and he wants someone to care about him for who he is, not his hero persona.

Clingy is also something he struggles with since he can’t always be there and will ignore you from time to time. It just sort of happens, and he can’t handle having to put up with someone who wants his attention 24/7. He is a busy man and would need someone who could give him space.

Also someone who would be willing to accept his kids. If somebody he was interested voiced disinterest in his family, he would drop them. His family comes before his need for a lover.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

Enji will keep his bedroom cold as hell. He always has slept better in the cold since his body has time to cool down, so you better get used to sleeping in the cold.

Luckily, He loves to cuddle when he is sleeping. He absolutely loves to spoon someone just because feeling someone pressed against his chest makes him feel calm. His body is naturally warm too, so he is great for sleeping with during the winter or in cold rooms.

Bakugo would not want a baby as soon as possible. He’s the type to be more focused on his career first. Once he gets in a good place, he’ll be pretty open to having a child especially your first.

Bakugo grew up in a pretty loud household, and he’s not exactly used to the quiet of just you and him. So, he probably will be the one to ask you to have a kid especially as you get older and other people look pretty happy with their own kids.

Bakugo is a little rough around the edges as a dad since he still does have lower patience for foolishness than most people.

Bakugo doesn’t want to coddle his children, He wants them to learn and grow on their own. Katsuki doesn’t mind if they scuff a few knees or get in fights with classmates a few times (especially if they win), but he does get extremely angry if they do incredibly dangerous things or don’t listen to what he says.

He’s a very proud dad when it comes to his children excelling over others. “What else do you expect—they’re MY kid.”

Your biggest issue is making sure they don’t get a swelled ego like Bakugo had when he was younger.

💥 Jealousy, do they still get jealous even though you’re completely theirs?

Surprisingly, Bakugo isn’t quick to get jealous on normal occasions. He knows you’re into him, and he’s still pretty confident in himself as a boyfriend, so he doesn’t really think you’dever leave him. He also knows you’re strong enough to handle yourself if it comes to people bothering you but will intervene if they’re not taking the hint.

The main time Katsuki gets really jealous is if you had a fight recently, or your relationship is a little rocky at the time someone else tries to hit on you.

His confidence is shaken, and he wonders if you think you could do better than someone with his temper or brute honesty. Basically, anyone else who seems attractive enough oracting too close to you is going to be targetted as a missile trying to come through to shatter your cracking relationship.

Katsuki is going to yell at them to get away from you, and also to drag you home from anyone else who thought they had a chance.

He might yell at you for going out in the first place, but he will apologize bitterly when he realizes how ridiculous he’s being. It may take a day or two, though.

You’re not going to leave over a small fight after all the years you’ve been together. You know he isn’t the best at expressing himself, and the two of you got over much worse.

💥 Live, where would you two settle down at?

Anywhere there’s action is where Katsuki needs to be. He needs to live around the biggest agencies, somewhere with high population, and somewhere with a fairly moderate crime rate so he can work to be number one.

Out of your safety, you probably wouldn’t live together most of the time. You’d live somewhere more peaceful and in a smaller area outside the major cities like Shizuoka, where he grew up, while he rents a place in the city to stay a few days or weeks at a time. He doesn’t mind it this way because he knows you’re safe in the back of his mind, but you might get a little lonely on your own.

At the end of the day, Katsuki loves to come back to Shizuoka. He really isn’t a people person or into large groups, so he likes to be able to come back both to you and peace, keeping work and home separate, rather than live in one location.

Bakugo is definitely the type to call you babe. He also used to call you dumbass or idiot or klutz when you were teenagers, especially if you tease him and made him blush but this has tapered off slightly.

Still, Bakugo does use swear words with his endearments from time to time, but he does know where to draw a line when it comes to more loaded terms, like bitch or whore. He wouldn’t call you that.

As for your nicknames, it really depends if you’re more on the sweet side or teasing/angry side. They can range anywhere from anger-management when you were teenagers or porcupine, or Mr. Explodo/King Explosion Murder.

Katsuki is freaking soft as butter once you adopt Kacchan as a nickname. He won’t admit it, but his heart just went dokidoki.

Bakugo is typically mature about your marriage.

It takes a long time for him to warm up to people and for people to warm up to him, so if you’ve gone as far as getting married then you’re somebody really special to him. He wouldn’t want to think of it as anything less.

The only time he could be considered immature about it is if he’s up against anyone else inan argument. As his partner, he expects you to have his back in everything. You can’t side with anyone else but him in his eyes even if he’s not necessarily right. So, be prepared for an argument about you being his partner and should agree with him if you don’t.

Kirishima is ready to have kids right off the bat after you get married.

Sure, they can get kind of tough to deal with sometimes; but ultimately, he thinks children are very cute and very fun to play with. They also tend to like him since he has that big brother type of vibe.

However, Kiri wouldn’t be able to handle having kids back to back, so there are always two or three years in between each one you have.

Kirishima is super overprotective with his children. A lot of “s-stop! Don’t do this, don’t do that. I said don’t run!” He freaks out over a lot of simple things, but then calms down when you remind him that half of them are miniaturetanks since they have his quirk. They’re not going to be hurt very easily.

He’s also a big pushover with his children. They can get a lot of things over on him while being crazy disciplined when it comes to you scolding or spanking them. They go from little menaces to angels pretty fast. It’s usually moments of “Why do they always listen to you?”

Occasionally, there are just these times that they finally push him over the edge, usually after they accidentally hurt one of their siblings or bust a kid-sized hole in the wall during play fighting. That’s when they start listening to him (partially because they also have to hide the damage before you get home or everyone, including Dad, is in deep shit).

Kirishima is one of the least likely to get jealous. He’s a friendly, people-person. He’s likely to make friends with all your friends in the first place.

The only time he may get jealous is when someone else starts to put the idea in his head about you spending too much time with a specific person. Even then, he’s much more likely to come to you first or try to be more affectionate with you to get your attention.

Kirishima is a big pouter and clinger to you when he’s jealous. He isn’t exactly forceful about the entire thing, but you can tell that he stands a bit closer or butts his way into conversations more often.

A jealous Kirishima is actually pretty cute, especially since he gets all blush-y when you call him out on being jealous. He knows it isn’t very manly to have all this doubt, but you assure him it’s normal and a little sweet that he gets jealous.

Kirishima would do well in one of those close-knitted communities, where everyone kind of knows everyone. He doesn’t care if it’s a big city or a small city to do his hero work in, he just wants to protect people who can’t protect themselves or who are overlooked.

Unlike Bakugo, he prefers staying with you and doesn’t like to be by himself. He’s willing to commute longer hours if that’s what it takes to work and keep you safe unless you say otherwise.

The problem is that Kirishima can’t stand being alone for long periods of time. If you do move along with him, he does feel bad if you’re put in places that can be a little more dangerous. Call it selfish, but he just can’t make that choice to separate.

“Yes mum I know thanksgiving is your favourite time of the year—“ I huffed down the line—my mother had been whining on the phone for over an hour and I couldn’t seem to find a way to end to the conversation. “I’m going to be there yes, but I can’t guarantee that I won’t have to work.” She chose to ignore the fact that my job was in fact extremely important.

 Steve looked up from his newspaper, a sympathetic but somewhat cynical smile etched on his face.

 “Sorry,” I mouthed an apology in his direction—I really shouldn’t have been having such a loud private conversation in such an open space. “Wait what?” as I zoned back in I heard her mumble something about knowing that I won’t bring a date. “What do you mean you’re upset I won’t bring a date? Who says I don’t have a date?” I can feel my face turn bright red as Steve raises an eyebrow in concern—I wave him off.

 “Well honey it’s just that you never bring one, I assumed this year would be the sa—“

 “I have a date mother,” the words were falling from my mouth before I could stop them.

 “You what?” she sounds astonished—I hadn’t realised I was such a disappointment on the relationship front.

 “I have a date,” I repeated myself, knowing I couldn’t back out of the lie. My palms began to sweat and I could feel my heart rate increasing. What had I done? “Anyway gotta jet, duty calls—see you Friday.” I quickly hung up the call and gulped down the lump that’d been forming in my throat. What was I going to do?

 “Since when do you have a boyfriend?” Steve chuckled lightly. As my partner on the job he knew me best out of everyone on the stupid base—so he damn well knew that I didn’t have a date.

 “Shut up Steven.” I snapped as I fell back onto the couch, grabbing a pillow whilst I was at it so I could suffocate myself.

 “Will you stop that,” he grabbed the pillow, his large frame towering over me. “Stop being so overdramatic all the damn time.”

 “Why?” I threw my hands up in the classic dramatic fashion that he’d been talking about. “I’ve already dug my own grave—I mean where on Earth am I supposed to find a date to my stupid thanksgiving dinner? Every guy on this base thinks I am a nut job.”

 He grabs ahold of my arms and hoists me upright. “Not every guy on this base thinks you’re a nut job.”  

 “Oh yeah and you’re so sure, how?” I narrowed my eyes at him letting him know this wasn’t the time to be fake sympathetic. “I’m going to die Steve, I’ll have to lie—say my fake boyfriend came down with a bout of violent diarrhoea.”

 He rolls his eyes and sighs in defeat knowing full well that I won’t stop being a drama queen. “Why don’t I just come as your fake date?”

 “What?!” I shot up like a rocket, “come again Rogers? Are you offering to be my fake thanksgiving date?” He really did pity me.

 “Well I know the most about you,” he shrugged, “and I’m sure it won’t be that hard?” He raised an eyebrow in question and I knew he was silently asking if my family were as crazy as me.

 “Well my family ARE a piece of work, but they’re nothing Captain America can’t handle.” I was lying. My family were a MESS. My mother could only be described as a walking lunatic and my dad—my dad was the complete opposite. He just didn’t say a word, my mother had the upper hand in their relationship and he just went with the flow. My older sister was a control freak and my younger brother was the textbook definition of stoner. We did not gel together at all. Steve was in for the biggest challenge of his life, but I wasn’t going to be the one to admit it.

 “Well then,” he patted me on the shoulder, “I guess I’ll go pack my duffle bag.”

 “Oh I could kiss you right now,” I jumped up from the couch and engulfed him in a hug—my arms barely managing to fit around him.

 “Easy there Tiger, don’t want to seem too eager.” He laughed lightly. “Plus,” he smirks as I back away, “I’ve always known you had a secret crush on me.”

 I almost choke when he says that. “Oh Captain,” it’s my turn to pat him on the back, “you are sorely mistaken.”

 --

 “I wish we would’ve just taken the bike,” I sighed heavily as I moved to undo my seatbelt. The sweater I was wearing was scratching against my skin and I was more annoyed at the world than usual—I was putting it down to stress. I had no idea how the whole fake boyfriend situation was going to work out, but it was making me fret like I’d never fretted before.

 “Usually most parents don’t approve of the boyfriend who rides a motorcycle.” Steve smirked as he stroked his beard—I was enjoying the rugged look on him. he’d gelled his hair back for the occasion and had conducted a necessary trim on the beard, but it was just enough to make me still want him to pin me against a wall, which of course was against his better judgment—and I would never, ever let Steve pin me against a wall, cause we were partners and that was all.

 “Are you okay?” he waved a hand in front of my face and I realised that I’d zoned out whilst thinking about him losing his morals.

 “Hmm,” I let out some sort of noise to let him know that I was still alive and on Earth, “let’s go.”

 --

 “OH goOd Lord!” My mother sounded like she was going to have an aneurism when she opened the door—it was definite excitement, but not because her favourite daughter was home, no—it was because her daughter with not one but 5 PHD’s had brought a man home.

 “Hi mum,” I felt so accomplished. “This is Steve, Steve this is my mum Lara.”

 “Nice to meet you!” He handed her the flowers he’d insisted on buying even though I’d made it a clear point that my mother had the blackest of black thumbs and killed every plant in her path.

 “No, no!” She engulfed him in a hug, “nice to meet you! (Y/N) hasn’t had a boyfriend in years and when she said she had one, well—“ she took a second to drink in his good looks, “I definitely wasn’t expecting you, especially because she isn’t ageing like a fine wine if you know what I mean.”

 I chose to ignore my mother’s rude comment.

 Steve let out a light laugh, “well, I think your daughter is extremely beautiful and I’m honoured you invited me to your thanksgiving.”

 “Oh Steven you’re so sweet, come on in and meet everyone else.”

 --

 “So Steve,” my father wiped the corner of his mouth with his napkin, “your mum wasn’t disappointed that you couldn’t spend thanksgiving with her this year.”

 I felt like I was going to throw up, I couldn’t even chime in because I was frozen.

 “Uh, no Sir—“

 “Dad!” My sister spoke up, “don’t be stupid, he’s Captain America, his parents are dead!”

 “JANE!” I almost stabbed her hand with my fork, it was such an insensitive way of putting it.

 “What?!” she rolled her eyes, “it’s the truth?” She really was thick.

 I could feel my face heating up and Steve could obviously notice my anxiety creeping up. He placed a hand on my knee, silently letting me know it was going to be okay.

 “Wait,” my mother paused, “how old are you?”

 “Well,” Steve cleared his throat awkwardly, “ I’m 25, but if we’re talking technical terms then 97.”

 “That’s fucking weird,” my brother decided to join the conversation, “she’s like, dating someone older than grandpa.”

 “ENOUGH.” I got up from the table. “What is wrong with you people? You have no fucking shame, c’mon Steve.” I tugged on his sweater, “lets go.”

 “It’s fine (Y/N)” he shook his head, “I’m fine, sit back down—it’s too late to head back home and your mum has gone through so much effort.”

 He was right, it was too late to drive two hours home and the rain had started so the roads were probably icy in the cold weather.

 “Fine, but I refuse to sit at this table any longer, I’ll be in the guest room.” I didn’t want to leave him out there on his own, but god I didn’t want to deal with that any longer. They were so rude and so insensitive, they just didn’t think when they spoke and it killed me. I stormed off from the table and hoped to god Steve would be okay on his own.

 “Hey,” Steve whispered as he entered the room “wait are you crying?” he flicked on the bedside lamp and sat down next to me.

 “No,” I lied as I violently wiped at my eyes.

 “(Y/N),” he stroked my hair back from my face, “it really wasn’t that bad you know.”

 “You don’t have to lie, they’re fucking horrible.”

 He let out a small laugh, “noooo, they’re just a normal curious family!”

 “They’re a bunch of nut jobs who lack the intellectual capacity to think before they speak and I dragged you into this shit show because I’m pathetic and can’t find an actual boyfriend.”

 He let out a deep sigh, not saying anything for a few seconds. “Look, I was going to wait till the end of this trip to ask, but obviously it can’t wait because you’re just being ridiculous every time you say you’re pathetic.”

 “What?” I sat up, I had no idea what he could be asking.

 “I was uh,” he held the back of his neck nervously, “I was thinking maybe I could take you on a date after this whole thing? I mean I’ve been meaning to ask for months, but we’re both so busy.”

 “No.” I knew why I was saying no and it was because I wanted to date him more than anything in the world. I’d been so obvious, trying the small things, but he just never picked up on them and I knew that if he really liked me he would have gauged it. So I knew deep down that I had to tell myself I didn’t really like him and that he was just my partner.

 “What?”

 “I said no, you’re only doing this because you pity me and I don’t want that. You’re so perfect, and I’ve honestly been telling myself for so long to just push the feelings I have for you aside because I’m me and you’re you. You’re also my partner and I don’t want there to be any weirdness when you realised that I’m not what you want because I love you so much platonically and then have a little crush on the side. So NO I won’t go on a date with you because; a I don’t think you mean it and b I’m not good enough.”

 “Don’t be ridiculous! If you like me too then why not take the leap? You’d let me pretend to be your boyfriend but not actually try it?”

 “Steve,” I was getting upset again, “you don’t have to lie okay. You’re so perfect and I’m this!” I signalled up and down to show off what a joke I am. “There is literally no one who could want me at this point in time.”

 “Well, no.” He retorted. “Stop saying that I’m perfect and that you’re pathetic and that no one likes you—because that’s a lie, I definitely like you. You’re so damn smart, you have 5 PHDs, you’re goddamn funny and you always bring me my favourite sandwich on my birthday. Then on Christmas you try and bake my favourite cake, cause you know I miss it and even though it doesn’t turn out right I appreciate it more than anything because you tried and it’s the little things. Oh and lets not forget the fact that you’re always helping me with things on my list. You make my life feel normal and you’re always remind me to keep trying to be a better person and I want that in my life constantly, not just when I’m at work.”

 There was a lump rising in my throat, “I-I don’t know what to say.”

 “I mean, saying yes to the date would be nice,” he laughed.

 “But you’ve literally just seen my dysfunctional family in action, how could you want me after that?”

 “Okay first of all, there is nothing wrong with your family! Second of all, I’m asking to go on a date with you and not your family.”

 “Oh jeeze here I was thinking you wanted to take mum out on a hot date.”

 “Seriously (Y/N), I want to try this.” He laced his fingers through mine.

 “Yeah?” I bit my lip. I really wasn’t sure if he was serious.

 “Yeah.” He nodded.

 “I mean then yeah I guess I could go on a date with you.”

 “That’s the most positive thing you’ve said all night.” He grinned.

 “I mean, I was crying two seconds ago.” The night had truly been a roller coaster and I guess I could thank my mum for one thing—making things so awkward that Steve Rogers asked me out on a date.

 “You know what?” He inched closer.

 “What?” I breathed—he was so close I could smell what was left of the cologne he’d put on 16 hours ago.

 “I was right when I said I knew you’d had a crush on me.”

 I sucked in a breathe before pushing him away “oh get out.” Of course he had to mention that.

 “Noooo,” he pulled me back in, “you don’t get away with it that easily.” Before I could register what was happening his lips were pressed against mine. For some strange reason the first thing I could think was that they were sweeter than I’d been expecting. I looped my hands around his neck, pulling him closer in the process. He flipped us around so that I was able to straddle him, somehow our moths stayed connected the whole time.

 There was so much urgency in the way we grabbed at each other—it was as if neither of us could get enough—close was not close enough. He let out a small moan as our bodies moved in sync. I didn’t mind the way his beard lightly scratched at my skin, the beard burn was worth it when it was Steve Rogers.

 His hands lay at the small of my back—his thumbs gently traced circles into my skin. “God you’re really good at this” I breathed against his mouth. “How much practice have you had?”

 “I practice on my hand.” He said, with the most serious face I’ve ever seen. The two of us stared at each other for about ten seconds before bursting out laughing.

 “It would seem that my funny side is rubbing off on you.” I snuck in a small peck.

 He raised an eyebrow, “I was being serious.”

The Fosters (S05E02) Exterminate Her Airdate: July 18, 2017 @freeformTV Ratings: 0.764 Million :: 0.29 18-49 Demo Share Score: 6.5/10 TVTime/FB/Twitter/IG/Path/Pint/Tumblr: @SpotlightSaga **********SPOILERS BELOW********** We're finally at a place that 'The Fosters' is heading to a really challenging and honest place as a series, honestly surpassing not just all others tv series that fall within the spectrum of Teen Drama/Family Drama on Freeform, but maybe any show in its respective genre on television right now... And you know the only thing I can think about? 'Is someone going to tell Jesus (Noah Centineo) that that he needs to change that raggedy ass shirt?!' I mean, for real, though! We've been through so many ups & downs and unnecessary drama, back & forths, soapy suds of nonsense and then suddenly we hit a late series stride in the beginning of the 5th season... We are tackling hard issues, seeing incredible character growth, Noah is giving us the best work of his young but potentially storied career (and yeah, the holy shirt accentuates the place he's at mentally), but all I can think is that if I was there, I'd be like, 'Can we continue this conversation AFTER you change that funky ass shirt of yours?' Hell, I'd go out and buy him one if I had to. Someone's gotta do it!!! Austrian Silver Fox, Danny Nucci, who normally plays Stef's Ex & current partner at work (don't ask too many questions on the latter, there), Mike Foster, is nowhere to be found throughout the entirety of 'Exterminate Her'... And that's because this week he's behind the lens, making his Directorial Debut! I absolutely love that the longer a tv show runs over the years, the more opportunities long term cast members are allotted to step outside their normal realm of duties and try something new. Now this isn't exactly a mind blowing episode, but Danny definitely has a knack for finding a certain flow of a story and gently highlighting important underlying themes. 'The Fosters' can normally find itself falling into a melodramatic trap, catching itself in a web of those easily overused tv tropes to make sure a certain portion of the younger audience is being taken care of, leaving the older audience a bit frustrated. Danny isn't worried about all that. 'Exterminate Her' is all about identifying what story arcs are important and finding their subtle nuances that act as building blocks that support why the characters are making the decisions that they are making, and ultimately how it's affecting each and everyone one of their lives. Props to Joanna Johnson for writing such a competent episode for Danny to direct and the editorial department to piece together. I try not to get too excited about 'The Fosters' because obviously many hands touch it throughout an entire season and that season is always separated into two parts, S(X)A & S(X)B. Even though specific arcs & subplots are already laid out for the cast & crew going into the season, it just filters through so many different lenses that you never know when its going to move on to one of those lenses that's a bit cracked or just not the right fit. The biggest story here has always been Jesus and the consequences of his accident... The guilt of his biological father, Gabe (Brandon Quinn, who's just killing it this season), and his internal struggle to make amends for both that specific nail gun accident that has deeply affected Jesus' learning and comprehensive abilities as well as Gabe's already deep seeded embarrassing regret & shame for not being there for Jesus & Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) growing up and his forced split from Ana (Alexandra Barreto) as a young adult all those years ago. All of these issues 'snowball effect' into the lives of the twins moms, Stef (Teri Polo) & Lena (Sheri Saum), who not only have to deal with all the feelings of letting biological parents back into the lives of the children that they raised on their own from an early age, but also the conundrums that pop up now that Gabe is living under the same roof. Lord knows it can't be easy and it's obviously taking a hard toll on Stef & Lena's own romantic relationship. Bottom line, there are an awful lot of people living under the several roofs that make up the buildings that reside on that one single property... And all their connections are extremely complicated, making for one helluva compelling drama. When the turmoil and issues are as thick as they are in the Adams-Foster House, there's really no need to hit overly-soapy notes, especially if all the storylines that are weaving in and out feel genuine, which so far they very much do. Even Callie (Maia Mitchell) who's been stuck in teen drama purgatory as a character for so long, is finally making much needed, believable breakthroughs in character & personality development. 'The Fosters' have given us so many reasons to despise Callie's character, so it's so refreshing to see Callie appearing to find this happy medium of sorts where she realizes she can still own her past that made her who she is, while moving forward working towards reasonable goals in a healthy & productive manner. She's so quick to brush off any help from her 'privileged' (not really a word I like to throw around these days) biological father, Robert (Kerr Smith), but in all actuality, he's pulled back and actually trying to approach things as a normal, caring, everyday bio-dad would... A dad that actually understands that Callie just doesn't want to throw away her struggle, she wants to use it to propel her forward! Surprisingly this gives us fans and critics quite the juxtaposition when it comes to comparing the shaky situation with Gabe. Yes! I just couldn't be happier with the direction and all the stories that seem to be carefully coming to fruition! Of course, there's always going to be room for improvement, but that's both normal and a good thing for a series, especially one that's already in its 5th Season. I don't doubt that it's just a matter of time that a massive curveball will be thrown the way of one of the members (if not several) of Adam's-Foster family, but it wouldn't be 'The Fosters' if that ball wasn't rushing at us full speed, right around the bend. I'm just really feeling the tone and overall feel of the series heading into this 5th Season. This feels like the most, focused, distinguished, and clearly paved seasons of 'The Fosters' we've seen to date. Fingers crossed that everyone involved continues on this path and remains on the same page in terms of the 'behind the scenes' cast and crew. Freeform really needs one of their shows to prove why they've accomplished all the things they've accomplished in the past... It's been awhile! And honestly, this network deserves the recognition!
