Do you have any advice for wanting to do art as a free-lance artist and just like, basically surviving off living as an artist without a typical job?
Oh gosh, I don't think I do have any good advice for that really,, I did live with art as my only income for 2ish years, but it's something I was only able to do because I was living with my parents (so not having to pay rent) and otherwise keeping my living expenses low! I never got my income to a point where I could actually live independently off it - even with a pretty sizeable audience like I have now, it's tough! I guess a little bit of advice would be that I think your rapport with your clients/commissioners/what have you is really important. When I take commissions the majority of my work is from regulars! If you're easy to communicate with and the whole process is nice and smooth, a lot of people will want to keep coming back! So it isn't necessarily all about getting as many customers as possible, but making sure that everyone you work with is happy with the experience Sorry that I can't be of more help! But wishing you the best of luck anon! 💪💪
