talked about this in discord today but my fave way to Keep My AU's Alive even when not actively writing them, is mentally check in with them around holidays!

I like to give everyone a halloween costume every year, ponder their life state, and update myself. I do this at christmas also.. and that can overlap with the new year to really round it out.

It also keeps you thinking about them because you never know when that urge to write will kick back in!

This is from my regency boxfancy fic where box is a politician (the one I dreamt then decided to write bc I have no self control). Hoenstly I don't know when I'll post it bc I'm working on 3 out of 5 chapters of it simultaneously at the moment but it's coming along ok. Hopefully in the next couple weeks!

2: What scene did you first put down?

I actually almost always write in chronological order. My beginnings and things may change, but I'm always writing from beginning to end! So the beginning was what went down first lol

4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue? There's quite a few little things I like in this. George saying his mouth tastes bad and Ron telling him to just go get a drink. It's just one of those little rough Ronnie things. Not because he's being rude - he doesn't think he is - but he's pretty sure George can just go get himself a fuckin drink! lol Also their exchange about if this all was about spiting Morse... (then why are we talking about morse at all???!!!) BUT ALSO

“Why do you do that?” Box rolled into the bed more fully and tugged an end of the sheet over himself as he settled in. There had been a dim lamp on by the bedside that he clicked off, but enough streetlight through the window that they could still see one another.

“Do what?” George readjusted.

“Every time you smile or laugh,” Box reached out, grasped George’s jaw in one hand, and guided him closer, “Closed lips and all. You try and hide it. Like you're supposed to be serious or summat. Someone told you that y’arent supposed to be having a good time?”

George felt warm. It wasn’t something he thought about but maybe Box was right. He’d surely been barked at for ages about finding things funny when it was ‘inappropriate’. At this point he wasn’t sure if his own joy was ever acceptable for most situations. He wasn’t sure if and when that would change, but he did know that Box’s warm fingers on his face, holding him none too gently, was stirring his blood again.

4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?

Not my most dialogue driven thing, but this section pretty well lays out the DYNAMIC.

“Yeah you guys go do weird morning person stuff,” George wriggled lightly where he was wedged between Max and Ron, “And Morse and I will hold down the fort here.”

“You mean sleep and sunbathe and day drink and eat rubbish?”

“Sounds brilliant,” Morse nodded.

“Can’t wait,” George smiled.

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

Not particularly.. Mostly inspired by personal travel experience. Like Morse being drugged for the entire flight and then immediately getting a beer as soon as he got there - this is very much my husband on vacation somewhere like this resort lol. Mostly I got vacation art of these guys for fun and then decided ... yeah that could work.
