i've actually reached the stage in my fic drafts where i need at least a semi-clear description of their guardian! though no one will get to read it for a while😅 i may draw them sometime. here's what i've got:

their guardian is humanoid, but we'd be able to clock them instantly as non-human. they have hair like us, but it's more akin to straggly spines and the part of the hair close to the body is 'alive' - as in it would hurt to cut, like when you trim your nails too short. the overall mass isn't large, but the individual strands are thick and slightly squidgy and can be styled. their brows and lashes are very sparse. they have hand and feet webbing, which Y/N has inherited. their skin has a significant grey hue and is a different texture to that of a human, something close to scaled. their eyes are yellow and they don't have nails. instead, the scaled skin hardens towards the tips of the fingers and toes. like Y/N, they go through a quarterly cycle of growing and shedding a second set of new teeth while keeping their adult teeth permanently. they don't have molars, most of their teeth are pointed or serrated. i picture them as having a wide mouth, white hair and an eye shape that resembles Y/N's, though their body is more angular.

there are other things that aren't rly appearance-based - they have a huge lung capacity, and babies can swim pretty much from birth (not Y/N though🥲.) but yeah, that's what i got so far! not everything here will make it in the story, but it's useful as a base to draw from when i need to describe something.

sorry i had to go to sleep last night after i posted that lmao but YES!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!! i often think back to these headcanons i wrote a while back and i just alsfjowfi i feel like i wanna do more with this relationship/these vibes. i know he's canonically said to be an older brother which is great but i also just love the idea of loverboy little brother yuuta who grows up being obsessed with his beautiful sister.

the age gap isn't too tremendous but i feel like you were old enough to really dote on him and kinda care for him a bit as a baby/toddler/etc. and he really just got attached to that. it made him admire you SO much and when he was little he even used to say stuff like he wanted to marry you, which everyone thought was cute and funny but had to explain why he couldn't. which..... he definitely internalized but he still couldn't make those strong feelings go away. he eventually tried not to say "weird" stuff like that anymore but was still very eager to play with you or cuddle together in bed, etc. just any attention you would give him.

and as you both got older and that attention fluctuated more, it made him very sad, and he would just jump at any opportunity to spend time with you. sometimes he'd be like "onee-chan... can we play games today?" and you'd say "sorry, yuuta, i'm going over to my friend's house!" and he'd smile and say 'okay' but lowkey cry a little and try to go play by himself 🥲 he would do his best to understand that you have older friends to play with sometimes, but like... it would make him ache SO bad.

he wasn't great at trying to make his own friends to play with either. for some reason i tend to think of this in context of a modern au without rika as a curse, but honestly it would be interesting with her involved as well somehow. tho i wouldn't want to diminish or twist their relationship around too much so i guess that's why i automatically go the other route lol. but there's probably some way it could be worked to create a really dynamic story... idk!!! my brain is still getting in gear for the day and i feel like if i went too in-depth with story-weaving i'd want it to be a whole fic and then get mad if i couldn't execute it LOL

but yeah anyways i'm already talking too much. yuuta's just a sweet boy who's unfortunately not really normal about his older sister at all. he wishes he could be, but he can't bring himself to let it go. and it only complicates things in the future when you both grow up and he can't seem to have a good close relationship with pretty much anyone else. and there's still this strange codependent dynamic between you two that you don't necessarily realize and it just continues to make it worse. he wants to be your most special thing and crawl into your bed again like he used to, except now he thinks about doing it in other ways too....
