ive been in post jail since like 9:30pm and have been gathering my thoughts for the last half hour after watching the live.
i feel like i just witnessed a mother having to euthanize her child. like i almost felt like i shouldn’t have been watching. it felt so personal to them and SO intentional. it felt like the direct opposite to the black parade is dead, a violent, explosive murder of what they once were. this was JUST as important and significant but the energy was exactly the opposite. this was not violent. this was mournful and cathartic and loving above all else. and they knew. in the beginning seeing mikey just pacing the stage behind gerard and watching the crowd so intently like. they know exactly what they just did. and the only day they could possibly do it, the only day they could send off their past lives was the day their past lives were first born. from this moment on they are officially a new band and they know it, and they knew when they started rehearsing for the us tour that they were going to do this. they’re actually and truly free now
