Gonna start by answering, Yes there is Definitely Lords in Black shenanigans going on here

One of the things that I like and appreciate about the Hatchetfield series is that it takes very grounded characters and places them in situations that escalate in very insane ways, and when I think about Spies Are Forever, it's also a pretty crazy premise by the nature of it being a parody of classic spy films, but Curt and Owen at their cores are very grounded characters, so it made sense in a weird way to go "okay what if you added Hatchetfield weirdness"

There is Definitely something going on with Tinky and timelines in this universe and I mentioned it briefly in another ask, but the way I see it working is that the two of them experience similar timeline resets as Hatchetfield.

We see in Hatchetfield that the timeline resets, but time still moves forward (tgwdlm takes place in 2018, black friday takes place a month after that, nmpd takes places in 2021, all that stuff) and it's a similar idea for Curt and Owen. The events of saf still happen in this universe, and it doesn't stop repeating. With every reset the last time the two meet gets erased and placed further along the timeline as time keeps moving. So when Owen dies in 1961 and Curt dies years later, the next loop starts. Their story exists with different details in the 70's and 80's and 90's up until we see them here in 2022. But why is it that only these two are affected like this and why does it seem like the loops started so long ago if it's only just in this timeline that they're in Hatchetfield?

Anyways as for Curt and Owen's rolls I had so much fun thinking of how details change in their lives and what constants keep showing up.

I mentioned it before but there are just events that keep repeating in each timeline, Curt loosing someone he cares about and being haunted by it, Owen just barely surviving and event that almost killed him and living with that trauma, and sadly, because this is saf and hatchetfield, one ends up dying in the end. Whether its because one has to kill the other or one gets the other killed, it's one of those tragic and unavoidable parts of their story.

As for the changes made in the au, Curt is a detective this time around for a number of reasons. One, I love the trope of the hardened detective left haunted by a case and thought it fit well with where we see Curt in the musical as well as the setting of Hatchetfield, and two, I had this idea that one of the weird constants for Curt is that he always has a title of some kind? It popped up as an idea for a much more meta reason, I know the way to differentiate the actor from the character is to call the character Agent Curt Mega, and there was a brief moment I considered making him an FBI agent Just so I could keep calling the character Agent Curt Mega, but I ended up falling in love with the idea of him being a detective. So we get Detective Curt Mega this time around.

As for Owen being an actor, I had this weird moment of "why would a British guy be visiting Hatchetfield of all places" and this is such a weird pull but I remember years back a detective show filming in my home town and went well what if there was some movie franchise filming in Hatchetfield and Owen was a part of it. It just felt like the kind of detail that you would see in a one off nightmare time story so it ended up sticking. From there Owen as an actor just ended up making sense to me, one as a reference to his act 2 monologue, two as a reason for why he would have a very varied skill set, and three, it felt like a good connection to his character as a spy.

(Also, Owen as an actor lets me make the very specific joke of him saying "Honestly, considering my spot-on aim and interest in foreign policy it's a wonder why I ever became an actor")

MY CHARACTERS — THEN AND NOW

hopping onto the hype train and doing this too since this is a rather chill thing to do than having to think intensely about lore. But since I'm always so bad at deciding just for two pics, I'm going to make it three — but Vijay gets the ps4 bonus since his origin is from console. So lets start this!

VIJAY STEYR

Vijay got the privilege to be my first V and he exists since end of 2020 but I didn't take any pics until 2021 of him. Back then I loved taking pics on my ps4 but I hated it so so so so much you weren't able to turn it into 90° — it was a pain for me to tae portait pics. Bc of the crisis back then I somehow stopped playing games (+ consuming social media for nearly 2 years) so, PS4 Vijay never made it trough the game. I started with him dark blonde but changed him to be a ginger when I picked him up again in June 2022 and found my way back to fandom so I wanted to post my boy.

He got warmly accepted even though he was just a smudgy PS4 cinnamon roll, but I was frustrated he couldn't have clothes I wanted him to have (fishnet shirt, my beloved), so I bought myself a gaming laptop real quick and recreated him exactly as he was on PS4 but added a few things as soon as I knew how to use mods and amm (took me about two weeks bc I learn fast) that disturbed me (red nose), so I gave him better skin and all the clothes he should have. Now he's got a new hairstyle too but aside of that didn't change.

RYDER VON SCHARFENBERG

My most precious boy had the privilege to get built with pc version already, otherwise he would have looked totally different. Like V, Ryder didn't change much afterwards. You only spot details I exchanged and these are minor. He got another skin tone, his nails are now pointy and he's got sharp teeth, thats it. When I create a character I'm not gonna change them afterwards. If they are not perfect right from the start, I won't create them. And visually Ryder was a perfect creation right from the start — he embodies my favorite style — but I'm honest, I had mixed feelings about him at first. The way he looked at me through the screen told me that he's a difficult one. Didn't know if I'd like him and if he's only to stay a side character or not, just the ex-boyfriend. But it took a journey I never thought I was able to produce for him. And somewhere along the process I fell in endless love with him — not even a full year has passed since his creation.

THYJS DE WIT

Okay listen, I did take pics of him right after I created him but I was not satisfied with the 'scars' on his face, the lip make up and he also had dark grey hair and the vanilla hair (I use for Jay now) at first but it was too dark, so I changed it immediately afterwards. I know some people seeing this first on the left now might scream "ooooh but he looked badass!" — I get that, but this look was drifting off way too much into the direction where Ryder is (and like I said - my fav style) but I wanted a soldier with albinism and not a second guy who would be falsely misinterpreted as another cyber goth guy like it happened with Ryder. So I gave him the silver hair and style and changed the lips to pale rosé, took another shot saw the scars needed to be different as well and now Thyjs looks like he is now. It's funny what only hair and lip color can make for a difference. I doubt I'll ever change something on him either except for a different hairstyle maybe. I thought about trying out the new KS Atlas body on him though but if the tummy cyberware doesn't work with it this will not change.

JAYSEN STEYR

had the luck I was already fluent in everything vp after warming up, so there's not a single change to see except I started using raytracing shortly after I created him. He's basically a copy of Vijay and got everything I'd have wanted Vijay to be in the first place, but went a different way I didn't wanna change. I did not create Jay because of that, though, Jay came to be because of story plotting. he won't change either, except his tattoos one day (not the glowing things).

so the result of this for me personally when I look at the quality changes is I just had to warm up with using windows things (as I'm an apple user due to my job), get fond of amm, poses, using light and push the ray tracing button to get to the level I'm now. that why my quality got so good so fast. Just needed to get into virtual photography is all. Maybe I got better at sth but I do not notice it and I honestly do not care, I just do what I like still not holding much of myself and my art. Its a hobby that keeps me busy.

But I'm also glad my oc's didn't change much, only right after their creation I changed something bc pics showed me it was not what I pictured. And the rest is only minor cosmetic changes. So I think I always go in with a preceise concept, a plan I have made before I start the cc. I remember I scanned entire nexus mods 2 days before creating Ryder, picking out everything I could imagine, even his wardrobe, then built an imagine in my head and only started once my imagination was ready.

i was tagged by @longeyelashedtragedy! i had actually been seeing this go around f1blr and was hoping someone would tag me...so thank you!!!!

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

i have 96 (46 off anon, 50 on anon). of fics written in recent history, i have 48 f1 fics (35 off anon, 13 on anon) and 18 footiefics (11 off anon, 7 on anon). i have sort of a weird relationship with anoning - i generally don't mind if people know the fics are mine, but i usually don't want them on my account, generally because of quality reasons (or just a distancing). i generally anon anything that i've been away from the fandom for a couple of years, but i think this might change now that i'm like, not actively growing up in the same way. i feel like it makes sense not to want ventfic from age 14 on my account, but i don't necessarily feel the same way about well-written work from a fandom i'm no longer a part of...but then again. embarrassment factor. so who knows.

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

661,265. Most of that is from the last three years. Nearly half is from 2022 alone! I'd like to crack 700k this year, but I'm not sure if it's going to happen. I've been a bit stagnant lately, but there might be something bigger (if uninteresting to everyone but me) in the works...

at the moment i basically only write footie rpf though i'm generally open to writing more f1 rpf or really whatever might take my brain by storm. i've written for lots of other fandoms but for some reason, it's basically ONLY rpf fandom that pulls me in and i actually get fully involved in, despite the fact that i love lots of fictional books and movies and things. the only other thing i could see myself writing fic for at the drop of a hat would be star wars OT/original EU. oh that's not totally true. i occasionally will write or consider rpf about various bands, mostly from the 90s 😑 but I've not written any in ages

taking some time - this was my first "big" f1 fic and i'm fully aware of why it's popular. it's fairly well written, it plays into common characterization, it's an extremely popular pairing, and it's unique enough (i hope) to still be vaguely interesting.

baby, need a ride - banger of a title, if i do say so myself (who doesn't love a bit of ke$ha). this is popular for a lot of the same reasons as the last, with the bonus of it being pwp.

[redacted] - i almost unilaterally refuse to admit i've written this fic. it got great comments from a lot of fic writers who i really admired in my early f1fandom days (and some i still do). this fic is, to me, extremely symptomatic of falling into fandom characterization without considering real-world input. it was maybe my second??? fic i wrote??? for f1. it's for a pairing i genuinely began to despise literally weeks after i wrote it. this fic is my no1 candidate for orphaning except that i don't like to orphan bc i DID write it and i do like to see what people say about it (and the comments are always lovely - i don't fault anyone for liking this fic. i'm glad to have created something that resonates deeply with many people!), even if sometimes i don't like reminding myself of who i was when i wrote it.

ill ray - this is probably the fic i'm proudest of being popular. i've definitely read fic that's been inspired by this which is a total honor. this is also the only fic in the top 5 that's not from what i consider my "early" f1 fandom era. this fic is mean and it's nasty and it's gross and it's stomach churning and it turned out better than i could have ever imagined. one of my favorite things I've written.

sheets soaking wet - early f1fandom pwp. i remember the exact weekend i wrote this lying on my futon. one of the first threesomes i wrote, i think.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

of course!!! i love comments and i am so grateful for them and i want people to know what they mean to me! i also am generally desperate for thinking deeply about fic (and for community at all) so i always want to engage with ppl who say interesting things! sometimes im a bit slow at responding - I especially sit on long comments - but I get there in the end :)

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I honestly have no idea. I've written multiple fics where is sort of implied all of the characters die at the end (as the sails burn down like paper, echo of the future (sort of. this one is iffy. there are spinoffs I'll never write), green gloves) so maybe one of those? i don't have a great sense of these things.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Maybe like... Charles and the Three Curses or something. I think it's a nice getting together, figuring out your problems ending, and they'll probably end up together for a long time. Most of the endings of my fic even if they're "getting together" or sort of "traditional" happy endings, I don't consider to be happy endings bc its all about getting trapped in the evil misery cycle or something like that.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

i would think i hate on my own fics more than anyone else possibly could. that being said, although I've gotten a few backhanded compliments, no, no hate, thank goodness.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yeah. i go through phases of writing it and then trying not to write it but i find it fairly easy to write and it can convey things i struggle with in any other kind of work yeah. in terms of what kind, i try to write stuff that has interesting emotional and political undercurrents. i like the real world in there. i like complication. basically, I use it to get at something that I'd struggle at getting at in a different fic of a similar length - it pares things down to bodies and emotion, even if there's still plenty of space for lying and misinterpretation and so on. i like to think my pwps are often about power. I've also said many times that i consider very little of the pwp I've written to actually be hot. idk....take that as you will.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

ive never done so though im not opposed to the idea. unless my f1 star wars au counts as a crossover which i don't think it does even though technically like in sequel 10000 someone probably does meet luke skywalker or like wedge antilles crash lands in old man seb's cornfield or something...

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

don't think so, thank goodness!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

no... I've had exactly one request ever and I turned it down. I'd probably say yes if someone I talked to regularly wanted to translate something, but I'm a bit of a control freak and it's not something I'm very comfortable with...

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

no, though again, not opposed to the idea... it could be fun! the other thing I'd like to do but im shy about would be to write a little fic in the universe of one of my friends fics but I've never done nor asked to do it so.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

if i have one, i don't know it. usually when im done with something, i move on and rarely return.....i think i have more consistent themes and questions that i like to read about and return to, rather than ships.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

i don't really have a lot of wips.... pretty much everything i decide to write ends up finished! there's only the Big Time Travel Story (not fic) in my head that maybe I'll actually get working on pretty soon here...

16. What are your writing strengths?

Probably my greatest strength as a writer is nearly anytime I decide to write, I can just sit down and do it. I'm also a fairly quick writer. When I'm really into a fic, I can easily write 2-5k a day and sometimes more. Other than that, I guess my writing is pretty readable (not necessarily something that I always like in my own work).

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I struggle with writing dialogue, but my biggest weakness is my unwillingness to edit. It's not that I don't care or I'm not aware of what could be better, it's just that I'm lazy and I really enjoy being done, more than I enjoy putting forth more effort into a better work (that I know won't get any better if a response if I put that much more time in, but at the same time, I wasn't much of an editer on my college papers either).

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

hmmmm... i do it sparingly. i think awareness of language is something I'd love to improve on in my work, especially writing in the pov of someone's second or third language. I've definitely read it effectively in fic (and far more effectively in like, novels or whatever. and I've seen it done very poorly in fic), but my own language skills are not terribly useful to the fic I've written and don't particularly add insight into how i might do it better. usually i just use dialogue tags to make clear what language is being spoken.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

in elementary school i submitted a story about darth Vader and princess leia to a school library contest and was rlly sad when it didn't do well :( i wrote self-insert about myself hanging out with the usmnt and uswnt circa 2011...if either of those count 😉

20. Favorite fic you've written?

I'm going to give you two, on different criteria, though the answer is probably the latter:

Charles and the Three Curses is the most FUN I've ever had writing a fic. It's a bit silly and the plot itself isn't the most unique but I loved coming up with all the details of the different characters lives and the magic they used and my little oc's and so on... I love writing fantasy fic :)

scenes from an american artist is, I think, the best fic I've ever written. in terms of writing quality, of storytelling, of prose, of structure, this is it. i had something I wanted to capture and I think i managed to do it, almost how I'd wanted to.

honorary mentions: as the sails burn down like paper, echo of the future, you whom i cannot betray. You can also check out my Tetrapod Sampler with some fics that I think are quality and representative of my own work.

you will notice these are all f1fic and there's no footiefic to speak of. I'm not going to say that I haven't written good work for footie thus far, but I will say most of it has been pwp which is never my favorite, results wise... but i promise i have something interesting and different in the works!

Wednesday (2022 Netflix show) is a weird little thing. I really love it, I am hoping we'll get a second season sooner rather than later, and I can strongly recommend it. But at the same time, there are also things that I feel just don't work. And I think a lot of that can be boiled down to:

It's a good show, but it's not a great Addams Family adaptation.

To a certain extent, that's unavoidable, as it is tonally completely different. The Addams Family is, at its core, not horror. It just looks like it, and that's where the humour comes from.

On the other hand, Wednesday (2022 Netflix show) has strong horror elements. There's a monster in the woods, and it's out to get you, it might kill you, and Wednesday (girl) considers this to be a problem, instead of trying to befriend it.

As a result of that, the relationships have shifted. It doesn't make sense for Wednesday (1964 series and 1991 and 1993 movies version) to have beef with her family and to want to get out from the shadow of her mother. That's never the relationship they had, and I'm not sure how they'd get here. They changed it, and that makes it feel weird.

The whole world is also fundamentally un-Addams like. I'm not just talking about how they took the labels "normie" and "outcast" and turned them into different species, basically, but also attitudes. Gomez is accused of murder, and… that's a problem, somehow? He didn't want to kill the guy? That's #notmygomez.

The weird thing is that this actually works for the show, except for having the Gomez and Morticia labels applied to these very different characters. The inverse of that is that the show generally gets better if it lets itself breathe, and is just about Wednesday, Thing (love Thing!) and the new characters. It's not a revelation or anything, and I genuinely think Stranger Things season 1 was better, but it is still good, and Wednesday herself picks up a lot of the slack.

But there is a particular way in which this whole thing rears its head, and that's a problem that I like to call, "Wednesday is just saying shit".

In the '90s movies, it is a running gag that Wednesday will say things that are overly educated, highly morbid, and usually both. She talks about taxidermy, execution methods, funerals and so on non-stop, and that's a thing they copied to the new show. But in the original approach, it was usually either not the focus, or backed up by something.

Wednesday really did try to kill Pugsley, several times, in a highly comedic fashion. And when the second movie did "Wednesday against the Pilgrims", something they seem to have been inspired by here, she genuinely went for it, tying people up, causing property damage, and setting things on fire.

Her weird statements were believable in the reality of the old movies. I totally buy that she researched the best methods to kill kittens in her spare time, and that just happened off-camera.

In the Netflix show, we don't get any moments like that. She only attempts murder once, in the pilot, and her parents treat that as if it were suddenly a problem. In the school, she consistently makes morbid remarks and issues threats, but they're all just empty. She promises to nailgun Ajax's heart if he breaks Enid's heart, but when he does, she doesn't even attempt to go through with the threat (as far as we know, that's a good fanfic opportunity right there).

In the movies, Wednesday is genuinely creepy in a comedic way, because the threat of comedic violence is always there, and we see her attempt to deliver on it. In the Netflix show, Wednesday is just saying shit.

Again, I think it's unavoidable to an extent. It would be highly consistent with Wednesday's stated character to build a secret guillotine to behead Enid in her sleep, or at least scare her out of the dorm immediately. But that doesn't work if Wednesday/Enid is going to be the emotional core of the show, and I do genuinely like their relationship.

At the end of the day, this show isn't an Addams Family show, it just looks like one, and the mismatch caused by that can be a bit jarring at times. But it is a good show in its own right.

He ran his hands back through his hair, the sounds of your moans driving him up the wall. You scratched at the door like a trapped animal and it was all Bucky could do not to open it.

Something was wrong.

Had been wrong since you came back from your last hunt.

“Baby,” you whined through the door. “Please…”

He had made a call to the one person who would know what the fuck was going on and who hadn’t gone that far after dropping you off.

“Dean,” he greeted upon opening the front door.

“James.”

“Did I interrupt something,” Bucky guessed, eyeing the suit and tie that was in place of the usual flannel and blue jeans.

“It doesn’t matter. Based on everything you’ve told me, you’re not going to like what needs to be done.” The sound of you falling to the floor in the bedroom behind them interrupted Dean and both he and Bucky turned to the door.

“You’ll help her feel better?”

Dean paused at the genuine concern in Bucky’s voice. He had nothing against the man, they both just so happened to be in love with the same woman. And the agreement to keep their relationships separate was about to change in a drastic way.

“You’re gonna wanna brace yourself before we go in there. She’s your girl, right,” Dean waited for Bucky to nod before he took a deep breath and continued. “The moment we walk in there, she’s going to be calling me Daddy.”

He couldn’t help the smile that tugged at the corner of his mouth. But when Bucky made a face, one that clearly expressed confusion but the willingness to punch him, Dean shrugged and walked past him to at least hide it.

FitzSimmons, rated M, 7900 words Summary: Bringing home her cute new colleague for the night sounded like a good idea to Jemma Simmons. He's cute and a fantastic kisser, just what she needed to relieve the stress of spending Christmas with her whole family. She just hadn't planned that she would end up snowed in with her one-night stand AND her family for Christmas.

Once more, happy Christmas Libby <3 "I'm so sorry, they weren't supposed to be here until much later!" she whispered as she closed the door behind herself and leaned back against it as if someone might burst through it anytime. "I know, you said so but I bet they wanted to avoid--" "The snow, yeah. My mum tried to call but my phone was in the living room. I probably wouldn't have heard it anyway, I slept like the dead last night." Fitz smiled at that and there was something so sweet in a way that she didn't tell him the orgasms weren't the only responsible. Even though he'd greatly contributed to the short-lived state of relaxation she'd felt that morning, she'd been exhausted for weeks. "Anyway, the road's closed so--" His lips pressed against hers softly, taking her by surprise. She was busy panicking about the whole situation, how dare he interrupted her like that? But then, his arms wrapped around her waist, impossibly warm, and Jemma melted into the embrace with a slight whine. Maybe she should have gone and talked to him weeks ago. She might have brought him home to her London flat and gotten the opportunity to enjoy his affection longer without being interrupted in the worst possible way. "Good morning," he said, eyes and tone equally soft when he pulled back.

Jemma shook her head and pressed the second mug of tea she was holding into his hand. "Oh thank you." He took a sip and his face turned a little less grumpy for a second. "Maybe the problem is that you stayed up working in the lab so late," Jemma pointed out and he huffed. "You're one to talk!" "But I can function on five hours of sleep, you obviously can't." If his still only half open eyes and messy curls weren't enough to prove her point, Jemma reached out to straighten his collar. "That's because he's still growing!" Skye tousled his hair as she walked past him to take her place in the briefing room.

listen. i have been trying to explain this to people for years. and even as a child. when my parents would tell me to like ‘thank people’ for like gifts or something. my brain would be like. ‘but why? i don’t like it.’ never understood the concept of not hurting someone else’s feeling until much later. and every single time i was invited to hang out with people or to go to a party. i would say ‘i don’t know those people, i can’t talk to them’ and everyone would say ‘but just try and get to know them’ and i could never explain that i just can’t. i don’t wanna go up to them say “omgg hiii long time no see!! last i saw you was xxxx”. like i know mannerisms. i’ve spent years copying them trying to look and act neurotypical. but like i cannot fake insincerity. and that’s why i ended up being ‘that one friend of those people who’s mean and rude’. and whenever people would do this, i would look at them like i was half amused and half just shocked/confused. because here i was standing next to some of my closest friends and suddenly they’re best friends with someone else. in a matter of seconds. and it used to give me such a whiplash. like how did that happen. how can you do that?? i can’t. it’s one of the reasons why i can’t form friendships that easily. because people go from insincerity to friends. they’ll be all ‘yeah yeah omg let’s make plans to hang out or party’ and then spend time and get closer. and for me. i literally cannot do that. i have to actually be interested in you as a person to be your friend. i can’t pretend to be your friend and then be friends with you. what kind of fucked up NT logic is that. but i’d always be the one standing in the corner or helping people with food or setting up the music. i can lie just as well as the next person, maybe even better. but i can’t be fake. i just. it’s so hard. how can you just switch characters like that. but nOoOOo. i’m the one who was a bitch. like actually i was hyperaware of all the fakeness that i was surrounded by. i can’t do insincerity just like i can’t do small talk. small talk is fucking weird man. with people my age it’s usually. ‘omg so what are you studying and where are you studying” and majority of the people i used to hang with would say they were studying business *insert eye roll*. and then you couldn’t stop me from telling them how their so-called business men idols could choke and die for all i care. and then from there i would go on about how systems are fucked up and minorities suffer from that and literally not a single person could keep up with me. because they would be like ‘whatever, ananya’ and just change the topic. and then after that they didn’t like me and i was mean and blunt and whatnot. so i mean. who’s really the mean person here.

Like, listen. Listen, okay. The moment I learned they were making Galadriel's character revolve around needless revenge over a man (her brother who is currently happily traipsing across Valinor because that's how death works for elves) I was already mad enough to never touch RoP with a ten foot pole

But this? Taking one of her most iconic lines and attributing it to Sauron? I am livid.

The real Galadriel, the book Galadriel, was always an ambitious woman. She left Valinor to rule a realm of her own, to shape a land the way she thought right. She watched her male relatives do shit and was like "I can do better" and that's what she did

She was driven, intelligent and gifted, she was one of the greatest things that ever happened to the elves, and it all came from herself.

But now they changed her story. This Galadriel isn't traveling Middle-earth to find a place for herself, she's traveling it to avenge a man who doesn't need avenging. And then Sauron pops up and tells her she could be a queen "stronger than the foundations of the earth"? The line she originally said about herself?

The way this is all set up makes it look like a man planted the idea in her that she could be a queen, a man tempted her into becoming a queen, and then continued to tempt her until she refused the ring.

Her whole thing in the books was overcoming the temptation of power and choosing what was right and good. But it wasn't the ring that she needed to beat, she needed to overcome the desires and ambitions inside herself that the ring was using against her

She was her own greatest enemy and she won.

But now they made it all revolve around a man. A man gave her the idea, a man tried to tempt her, a man is who she quotes when she's overcoming temptation...

Do I really need to spell out why the story of a woman whose biggest enemy is herself being changed to so heavily focus on a man's effect is bad? Do I really??

The little "brgh" sound the cat makes sometimes when you jump, the way it just instantly drops when B-12 puts the little backpack on it and then continues to crawl across the ground like a dramatic little shit, the button prompt to push stuff off shelves for absolutely no reason except chaos, the quick little tap tap tap of the paw when it inspects something, how it just SLAPS the first two robots it meets (the dying one at the beginning and B-12 after booting it up), the way it licks its lips after hissing...

These people really paid a shit ton of attention to how cats work and it's given us an extremely realistic little guy that I will love with my whole heart until the day I die

But Desiree’s half-sister Lena Scott knows that can’t be the case. A graduate student at Columbia, Lena has spent the past decade forging her own path far from the spotlight, but some facts about Desiree just couldn’t have changed since their childhood. And Desiree would never travel above 125th Street. So why is no one listening to her?

My Review:

Very slow to the draw. 90% of the story is played out very slowly and doesn't pick up until the last chapter. While I didn't expect it to be fast-paced all the way through, most of it was very lackluster. Let me back up.

Instagram model/influencer, Desiree Pierce is found dead of a drug overdose but her sister, Lena immediately suspects foul play.

I've said it before in other reviews, cops in these stories are so useless and it infuriates me that they are always written this way. Case in point: see The Perfect Marriage. Detective Green and Detective Zizza were imbeciles.

Over the course of about 10 days, Lena is turning over every leaf and following every lead, to figure out what happened to her sister -- something that should be the NYPD's job. Of course, she is met with many roadblocks; her father is unhelpful and almost comes off as a suspect, there is an old family friend who is mixed up in Desiree's life, a new "best friend" who isn't who she says she is, and a pesky reporter who flirts with Lena at all the wrong times.

There are enough characters in this story to keep you guessing. However, the final climax left much to be desired for me -- it was very anticlimactic.

Aunt E was the scene stealer! I'd love to read a story about her and Gram.

Final thoughts, it was an easy read and despite my best efforts, I was unable to predict the ending for that alone, it gets an extra star! I'm usually pretty good at pegging the "suspect" early.

4. Ofcourse no, I'm not dumb. But either he could've said I'm going to meet members or just don't say it. But he stressed that he's GOING TO MEET JIMIN NOW.

5. I think exempt some Jkkrs everyone already knows Jimin lives nineone hannam. Again minimoni 90% times travel together now. Also we all heard about Jimin's apt seizure news few months back so it's not like that apt doesn't exist lol.

6. It may/maynot be his apt. RM shares pics from different corners of inside his apt which many karmy confirmed its nineone. So JK doing vlive inside a well protected luxurious private apt and only showing a single kitchen slab is not something surprising lol. It has every chance to be the place he lives.

7. What part of that 'house' was empty. We only show a single area, he kept it same frame throughout. Also if you watch the house tour of that apt those wall of kitchen are actually doors which can be opened to storage spaces and pantry rooms. He just closed it, which for us, looked like walls and seemed so plane. Or are you saying it was someone else's apt and JK was just casually washing dishes there at midnight ?

Also that place is in gagnam JK have been recently spotted in Gagnam always. Also that restaurant he's going continously now is also in Gagnam- well nearby where he lives 🤷‍♀️.

8. As I told, except some jkkrs everyone else got enough clues to know Jikook no longer live together. Some jkkrs, who even you you maybe following, who was so sure of them living together recently changed their opinion to 'no they don't live together, but can be nearby places' - much better lol. I think you also know it but just not saying it in blog that they don't live together m.

9. In my knowledge this is a blog and if I have a doubt and there's this blogger who posts about a specific topic I.e jkk.. there's facility to ask them. I just did lt Simple.

3,4,5 I remember exactly how and when that minimoni thing happened, and as you mentioned, it happened more than once. I don't know how much you know about media policies, but as someone who has been into advertisement and broadcasting for some time, I might know one or two things about it. Thanks to media headlines in the middle of 2021 (plus the seizure thingy in early 2022) most people know about Jimin and Namjoon buying apartments in the Nine-one complex, no one denies the apartment exists, lol. And they assume they are neighbors, which is technically true. For a simple-minded person "visiting the members" might sound like an option Namjoon could state on Social Media, but he is an expert. You tell me; When it's midnight, how is he supposed to visit "members"? Wouldn't it raise questions like "which members?" "Where?" "Why?" "Do they work 24/7?" "Is there an issue going on with the members"?! So "Jimin" is the only option because "minimoni being neighbors" is public knowledge now, and it raises zero questions and complications. Of course, I'm not saying Jimin doesn't live in Nine-one, because we don't portray the members as liars in this house. He might use that place occasionally, and he was there the night Namjoon mentioned visiting him. But it seems you have forgotten that people can move from one place to another. They can have stuff in one house and sleep in another one. They can have their work studio in one residence, but they chill in another. BTS members are worldwide idols with big and complicated lives, why your point of view on their lives is so limited? Just one or two nights doesn't declare the whole situation of their living. And the "minimoni 90% times travel together now" sounds hilarious because the times we have seen them traveling from/to their homes since Jimin bought Nine-One doesn't even reach number 10, lol. I haven't counted, but maybe five or six times with Namjoon and twice with JK is all we have witnessed, and I don't know where your %90 comes from.

6,7,8 The same K-Army who confirmed Namjoon's Nine-One also have said other stuff about seeing JK and Jimin around that Hannam area, but of course, we only accept K-Army validation when it suits our narratives, right? lol. Fortunately, we don't need K-army all the time, sometimes common sense can help too, like, why he didn't have kitchenware in his home? Why it was so cold that he wasn't feeling comfortable? This doesn't sound much like a "home" to me, but him living or not living there doesn't change anything in my point. I never said I know where Jimin or JK live. They don't want us to know, and I respect that. Unlike the other members, they don't give away anything from their residence. No one knows where they live, not me, not you and that's a fact, but you can't accept it. You overlook obvious things and focus on irrelevant ones to make the narratives you want. LOL No. I'm not like the insecure folks you follow. I hate hypocrisy and deceiving the people. What I write and say is the exact thing I believe (in fact, I tone it down a bit to not to be called delusional, lol) If I had thought for a second that Jikook is not real, I would deactivate this blog. It's not a huge deal for me and I can live without it, I'm not gaining anything from this, but I will never speak against my will, knowledge, and beliefs. All I know is they are a couple, and they live together like any other celebrity couple in the world.

'Loki' Full Season 1 Review: The Most Frustrating Thing Is How Incomplete the Story Feels

Editor's note: The following contains spoilers through the Season 1 finale of Loki, "For All Time. Always."

[TWH-NEWS note: Tom is NOT confirmed to be on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness even though the article so claims. Marvel hasn't confirmed it.]

The Loki season finale is perhaps one of the most vexing episodes of television I have seen in quite some time. The Disney+ sci-fi drama, tracking the events following Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) escape from the pre-established timeline, was never confirmed to be an ongoing show versus a limited series, with rumors of a second season on the horizon from the beginning, so the biggest twist delivered by "For All Time. Always." ended up being confirmation of a Season 2 with a post-credits title card.

However, while there were other key reveals made during the episode, those reveals left behind plenty of story to explore in future seasons. Too much story. There's a difference between a few dangling plot threads and a mess of string, and the staggering number of questions left unresolved by "For All Time. Always." crosses a line when it comes to completion — especially given the fact that there's no clear sense of when the show might return, and the real story being told is much bigger than the fate of one mischievous scamp.

In general, every episode of this show was beautifully made, with immense credit going to director Kate Herron, head writer Michael Waldron, and the creative team. The cast of known all-stars like Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, blended with new all-stars like Sophia Di Martino and Wunmi Mosaku, did a remarkable job of grounding even the most fantastical moments in raw humanity, and the writing popped with verve and wit. Also, Loki does come full circle on what was its original raison d'etre — the redemption of a character who literally was plucked out of the timeline at his worst, having attacked Manhattan with an alien force so destructive that the Earth needed a whole damn team of superheroes to stop him. On this score, the show was wildly successful, breaking down Loki's sense of grandeur and purpose in the first episode and then slowly but surely rebuilding him into a man capable of evolving beyond his past. Loki did more to examine a single character's psychology and motivations than we've ever seen in the context of the MCU, and all of the progress and growth made by the character, as a result, feels truly earned.

However, if Loki's redemption was the only thing this show had been about, it would have been a very boring show, and Loki was far from boring. The official theme of the series was "What makes a Loki a Loki?" but the real issues being raised were far more existential; in so many ways, this was a show about faith and free will, an undercurrent that deserves more exploration and frankly appreciation, especially after the questions and themes left dangling by the last episode.

This element proved to be key to so much of the show's construction, especially when it comes to the TVA, which basically functions as a religious order — its devotees slavishly sacrificing their lives to the cause of protecting the Sacred Timeline. It's not subtle, especially when the dark side of it is revealed, those devotees learning that their service happened against their will. "We can't take away people's free will, can't you see that?" Mobius pleads with Ravonna in their final scene together, before she walks away in something resembling agreement with him, telling him that she's going in search of free will herself.

Loki Season 1, by the end, becomes a show not just about a crisis of faith, but about an apocalypse. Every time a story about apocalypses comes up, I find it impossible to forget that the Greek word from which the term originates actually means "revelation." That's why the part of the Bible about the world ending is called the Book of Revelations, but beyond that, the definition serves as a reminder of why endings can matter. Endings are beginnings, in some ways. A painful breakup reveals the flaws in what might have seemed like a loving relationship. Extreme climate change is a revelation regarding humanity's callous attitude towards its impact on the environment. For the characters of Loki — perhaps the entire MCU — the apocalypse they're facing following the destruction of the Sacred Timeline also means the revelation of what lives they left behind.

Certainly there's a ton of room for speculation as to what lies ahead for these characters, but the fact is that the next chapter of Loki's journey won't even be told on Disney+, as Hiddleston is reportedly in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and there's no telling when we might return to resolve the events of the Season 1 finale. Cliffhangers are one thing; anyone who grew up watching '90s TV learned the hard way how to handle the dramatic season endings of The X-Files or Star Trek: The Next Generation. But Loki didn't dangle its characters off a cliff — it pushed them off the edge, leaving them suspended in mid-air for who knows how long.

Back in the days of The X-Files you at least knew that whatever jaw-dropping cliffhanger the season finale had just delivered would be addressed by the season premiere in just a few months. (Maybe as many as six months, depending on the baseball season.) That's a sense of certainty that Loki fans do not have the luxury of enjoying; based on where the conversations around a second season currently stand, it could be a while before the contracts are even signed. Conservatively, at this point, it feels unlikely that we'll get a second season of Loki until near the end of 2022, and given that the first season took over two years from its announcement to now to actually debut, 2023 doesn't feel like too much of a stretch. Maybe Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw get to make cameos in Doctor Strange 2 as well? Nothing is possible and everything is possible. We just have to wait for the answer, and in the meantime stew in dissatisfaction.

"Only one person gets free will. The one in charge," Ravonna tells Mobius — implicitly referring to He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). Who, speaking of, is now dead, Sylvie having completed her one primary quest to revenge herself upon the ones who took her life away. That, combined with the Wizard of Oz parallels, makes this a show that's fascinating to parse (Sylvie literally killed God!), but frustratingly incomplete in its themes. Literally as the episode officially ended on the visage of Kang enshrined as the ruler of the TVA, I said out loud "Well, there's going to be a Season 2," and I suppose that thanks are owed to Marvel and Disney+ for not leaving that element in suspence for more than two minutes and two seconds.

But if I have a religion, it's my belief in the power of storytelling, how the myths we create for ourselves and others can shape lives and hopefully make them better. One tenet of that is the idea that great stories deserve some sense of completion. So, the first season of Loki committed a pretty grievous sin.

So this is not really in response to the anon but just my lil ranting.

So I'm not gonna dive too too deep but do I believe jikook is still dating? Yes I do. Now I'm not gonna give a timeline for how long I think they were dating but I think mutual crushing started happening in 2015 (it's a stretch but maybe late 2014). As time passed we started seeing it alot. In late 2017 or early 2018, we saw rings on their wedding finger. Now idk bout yall but I ain't ever seen two straight men get matching rings and put them on their wedding finger. EVER.

2018 and 2019 were the years of grand gestures. Jkkers love to mention Rosebowl and call me weird but I've never been gassed about rosebowl. Never once. It doesn't do anything for me. I know...I'm weird 😭. Almost anything that was on stage never did anything for me. What I focus on is the members reactions, words that were unspokenly spoken and off work behavior. For me, one of the big things that make me ship/support jikook and know that there's something there, is the members reactions. Alot of people don't like 2020 and 2021 because it doesn't have any grand gestures but those 2 are my favorite years because it showed the domesticity of jikook.

In jk's 2020 birthday vlive, jk went to make his wish and v said he doesn't need to make a wish because he already has everything he wanted. Hobi and suga laughed and hobi leaned forward and looked at jm. I say that because when he was talking to jk he didn't need to lean forward, he just needed to look across. Suga looked at v and said don't say any nonsense. On jm's birthday vlive, hobi asked a simple question. You could hear the smirk in his voice when he asked what is he doing in jk's studio. Nobody would've batted an eye if he just answered the question normally. But instead he looked back at jk, got shy and lowered his head. Following up with hobi saying let's move to my studio. It's just a studio room, why make a big deal out of it?

Then you have the leaked photo from jm dad's phone that people said was a cosplay. Now why the hell would jm's dad have a photo of cosplayers portraying his son and bandmate in an intimate position in front of a heart? Tf?

Don't get me wrong, I see where people have doubts about the 2022 behavior from jk. I see it too, it's not like I'm disagreeing with everything the anons are saying, it's just that I genuinely believe their relationship is fine behind close doors. And alot of people bring up v this v that. But if I could remember they had a "adult conversation" where jk said thay had to catch up, now why you need to catch up with somebody if you're close? That just shows (TO ME) that they're not as close as people make it seem. One time he didn't even remember jk's birthday, so the fact that people keep bring up v for everything related to jk is weird.

I believe 90% that jikook are together. That 10% is where stuff doesn't add up. One being the passiveness and the other the tattoo and song mystery conspiracy that people keep bringing up. He said "where did jimin get his tattoo again?", meaning that he knew that he got a tattoo but "didn't know" where (under the 10%)....I talked about the song thing previously so you know how I feel about that. The passiveness, I talked about in the dms. About the social media thing, both jm and jk have not interacted with each other at all. Except for jm posting the 2 photos of them (which again is under my 10% btw) btw. They both didn't promote each other's songs.

Is it possible that they could've never been together all this time? For me impossible. At least if they're weren't in a relationship, something was there. The amount of times that jm has slipped up calling his room "our room"....🧐....that's another thing that is under my 90%, yall are bandmembers, NOBODY would bat an eye that you're in each other's room but the constant need to hide it makes it weird. The smallest things they make soooooo suspicious for no reason. Jk saying "I go to his room cause it's the closest and he's bored".....🧐.....oh I'm sorry I didn't know you had to walk a mile to get to another member's room. Again...the white lies.

People say they've broken up but in what period would they have been supposedly broken up? What date? What month? Because the consistency and the breaking up don't make sense. Jm said himself that he's not a good actor, if they've been broken up, we would've sensed it somehow...someway. People thought that they were broken up when the January/March "drought" happened only for them to be out to lunch on white day with jm's friends. And last time I checked, if I have an ex, he's not going NOWHERE near me or my friends. He's also NOT finna be on my social media...periodttttt. I don't give a flying @%# if he's a bandmember or not.

All I'm saying by saying all of this is that I have more faith in the 90% than the 10%.

To be honest, I'd like to believe Taehyung sincerely loves both Jimin and JK and that fans' reactions don't factor into his actions with either of them, but I've worked in entertainment for years in my previous professional life and I'd be astounded if his on-camera behavior isn't somewhat calculated (I'd be astounded if that weren't true for all the members, but Tae especially seems very self-aware of his own brand marketing and solo ambitions at the moment). I'm just gonna say it: Tae leans into Taekook a lot more lately. A lot, a lot. He doesn't just drape himself all over JK, he holds on to him and won't let go. Like literally will not give him his arm back sometimes. Makes it a point to bring up fire and water, playing video games together all night online, dressing each other up--pointedly mentioning these things when no one asks. And JK just passively accepts these overtures, sometimes even leans into it too. And yeah, they are super close friends, but sometimes it really comes off flirty. Now, if JK is online and monitoring everything, he knows what the cult is like and he knows the hate Jimin gets and he still participates in open displays of affection with Tae but not with Jimin anymore, which baffles me. It is not how I would behave if I were in a relationship with Jimin (or if I were Jimin's best friend/soulmate). But I'm not a twenty-something South Korean male pop star. Things that look hella sus to me could be par for the course to them. So far, none of the members have raised eyebrows about it, so I take my cue from them. And Tae is super touchy feely with everyone. Like he literally kissed Jin twice in recent months, damn! But he's way less so with Jimin this year (or rather, it's Jimin to again initiate touching faces or hair, back hugs, compliments). So I'm not making a judgment call about what all it could mean, but once again here's an instance in 2022 where Jimin is pulling the lion's share of emotional labor and being the one making gestures for connection. I'm just clocking it, based on the content we have so far. I know plenty of Jikook supporters who will froth at the mouth over this but I call it like I see it. It is one thing to keep some distance and plausible deniability around a closeted gay relationship. It's quite another thing to sit your ass on another man's crotch when you know you two are part of one of the biggest and most popular ships in the world. That shit is calculated. I just don't understand the math. But again, Jimin doesn't seem especially triggered by it, so I take my cue from him. But the cult seems pretty convinced that Jikook died during the pandemic and Taekook is real now, and it kinda makes me sad that they can point to instances this year where Tae and JK are all over each other and Jimin and JK are not. For the first time ever, they have something I don't have enough information about to refute. Kinda sucks. (I'll probably get crucified in my inbox for going there but again, I really don't give a shit about peer pressure. I am trying to gauge reality regardless of what I want to be true. Show me evidence that says differently, and I'll say I was wrong and call it differently.)

In conclusion, I have to agree with what you've said--there have been enough unique instances (even in 2022) to indicate very real Jikook intimacy is still going strong off camera. I just can't figure out why it's always Jimin reaching out to show affection, always Jimin hyping up his members' projects, always Jimin who gets the worst hate. I'd feel a lot better about it if there were more irrefutable instances of Jimin support from JK and all the members. But keep in mind, I'm Jimin biased. :-) You could probably make that same case for all the members if you were inclined.

Jungkook is my ult bias, I've stanned bts since nearly debut and I've watched him grow up and mature and change in so many different ways. There's one thing that didn't change tho throughout the past recent years, at least on camera, it's how caring he is to jimin. Jungkook is a little shit sometimes yes, he's boyish and a brat and he loves teasing people, jimin included. I don't see how the joke yesterday was any different than the past few years? How is this any different from memories 2020 when jimin asked him what does he feel about being in a unit and him responding joking about how he'd want to change up things sometimes. Jimin found it funny and they were both clearly joking, if anyone comes telling me about how jungkook doesn't care about jimin bc of that one joke I would laugh at them and call them dumb. My feeling is that when people talk about 2019 jikook or Jungkook and how it's different from who they are or how they act now, it's about comparing the general vibes of their relationship in 2019 to 2022. You say it yourself, and Jungkook has changed through the years and there is difference between 2019 and 2022 too. He seemed softer, sweeter in 2019. That's all. I don't agree that he doesn't care about Jimin, I don't always agree with every single word that I reply to, but I find it tedious honestly to pick apart a message and say "I agree with this, I don't agree with this, yes, no, you're right, you're wrong." Just without incentive I already talk (type) a lot lmao I do try to not make posts that are so long. I end up writing a lot anyways, but sometimes I try. So yeah, I agree with the opinion that they are different from 2019 and some of those differences are great! and some others not so much.

It's true, it was a joke. I know it was a joke and I treat it as such. Jungkook spent the first two years of BTS existence "joking" about Jimin being the ugly one in the group. 2016 and 2019 he joked about Jimin's "small pepper", September 2020 he was joking about the way Jimin sings in BWL intro. Just some that come to mind right now. I'm not a sensitive person and I know none of those jokes or the kidnapping one were about me, I think the only one I had a really bad reaction to was when he sang Jimin's BWL intro in that voice in front of the gamers guys. Because I've always loved Jimin's voice and it has always hurt me that it took such a long time for him to be confident about it. But no, usually I don't take their jokes personally. Because I know how to differentiate which feelings are mine and which are Jimin's or Jungkook's. Feelings that I have no idea about, btw. I felt bad about the BWL intro joke but maybe Jimin didn't care. I know that. Yesterday, I just felt so exhausted. I literally rolled my eyes when I saw the translation. I KNOW what jokes are, and like you've said it's not even the worst joke about Jimin that Jungkook has made. But many people in this fandom are the ones who don't know what a joke is or will use that against people I like. Unfortunately I come across the things they say.

The thing about jokes, too, is that you can't expect everyone to have the same reaction to a joke. Just the other day Chris Rock made a "joke" about Jada Smith, who's balding because of an autoimmune disease, and Will Smith punched Chris Rock on live television. Some people thought he overreacted because to them it wasn't such a bad joke, since she's bald so apparently if you're bald strangers have the right to joke about it, didn't know that one. And some others thought Will Smith was rightfully upset. (I believe he was rightfully upset btw).

Yes I know JK's Instagram joke was not that big of a deal, and Jimin is far from being a stranger to him, and I'm not putting it on the same level as Chris rock's joke, but I'm just bringing that up as an example of how even with serious situations like the Oscars one, people do react differently to jokes. JK made a public joke too, and clearly not everyone in the public will always agree. Anon2 brought up JK saying where does a joke stop being a joke and that's very valid, and everyone has a different opinion on where they stop, even JK knows that. Being the jokester that he is and has always been, I'm 100000000% he's been put in his place more than once for taking a joke too far.

Just like anon above ⬆️ I've seen lots of jikookers saying that was uncomfortable for them and they wish he would've answered differently or that he wouldn't have answered at all. Nobody (except antis) is saying he wants Jimin to be actually kidnapped or that he hates Jimin, or that Jimin is crying about it, it's just that a lot don't agree with what he said and the way he said it. Personally, I think he's done worse jokes and I'm not even moved by this one but I do feel tired. I've been tired for a while now about having to prepare myself for whatever he might say about Jimin or whatever way he might react to Jimin's affection. I'm tired of being worried. I don't want to change Jungkook and even if I wanted to, I would not be able to as much as I can't change the people who have constantly and will constantly hate on Jimin for whatever Jungkook says or does. I'm just tired of being on this side of things but it's unfortunately the only side for me to be in.

Again, what I've always said, JK doesn't really think about the way his relationship with Jimin comes across to the public. If he acted and said things constantly thinking "will this seem okay will this make me look like I'm tired of Jimin or will this make it seem like I love him" then their relationship would come across as perfect and ideal, and it's clearly not how they come across.

I think this joke also comes as one more baggage upon the pile of "disillusionment" that has been Jungkook/jikook's presence on social media. The no birthday posts for Jimin, the taekook posts, interactions, the radio silence when Jimin got surgery and during his recovery too, only Jimin posting jikook, etc. I think that everyone's been more sensitive about Jungkook and jikook's social media presence ever since their Instagram accounts were opened, because a lot of unexpected things have happened, and this was just one more of those things.
