listening to sad songs in english: i guess its a bit sad. idk?
listening to sad songs in my native language: my stomach hurts. my chest is about to explode. i can feel my organs melting inside of me. i am coughing up blood. the world literally just stopped spinning.
I finally listened to side 2 of Steeltown and I have just one thing to say after listening to it:
Tony Butler is my favorite bassist. My #1, favorite bassist. Out of all of them; all bassists, and all of my favorite bassists. He's my favorite, hands down.
parts from the camelot revival cast recording that make me smile, act 2
not comprehensive. might be in an order. featuring 20% more jordan donica.
ENTR'ACTE. we've got the true theatre experience guys (minus the exit music.)
jordan donica's perfect french during the madrigal
the hazy, in-the-other-room feel of the madrigal strings at the beginning of "if ever i would leave you"
jordan donica's perfect vowels.
the dreamy strings when lance comes back in after the instrumental interlude
"it's not the earth the meek inherit, it's the dirt." / again with lerner's lyrics, but taylor trensch does a such good job making them come alive.
"...and fidelity is only for your mate!" / shouted towards the direction where arthur disappeared. have to say, i do love mordred's fierce loyalty to his mother even if he is a toad.
[guenevere, whistling terribly] "stop! you are terrible at whistling!"
"i'm a beginner! i just need practice and encouragement!" / "the very last thing you should have is encouragement." / WHAT are the implications of that statement, arthur???
"my father used to say i sang like an angel who'd been blessed with a particularly pretty singing voice." / this joke has no right being so good.
"what do simple folk do... to forget?" / love that this line could be played ironically or straight.
"what else do the simple folk--" / sighing: "genny." / when i tell you that i almost melted when i heard this on the cast recording
that verse in "fie on goodness" that's just about scotland, and then: "fie on scotland, fie!!!"
the entire ensemble during "guenevere"
trumpet fanfare/snare hit after arthur says "those guards are going to die tonight"!
the slow dirge of winds and percussion at the end of "guenevere"
never for as long as i live will i be over the fact i got obsessed with desert rose at the age of 7 (to the point i was writing short stories about it, playing games on the playground about it, and became obsessed with both ancient egypt and arabian music) and then literally exactly 10 years later, i found dune and got obsessed with that having zero idea they were connected until about four years ago when i was listening to the lyrics and Realized.
"I've got an attic full of damage in my mind, I box it up, say I'll deal with it another night. And I have a problem looking people in the eye. Isn't that funny?"
Bucky playing the guitar came back to me. I'm listening to ventura highway.
I don't know why, just Tony and Bucky on a road trip. Pit stops in the stars. Fires with music, eother guitar or the radio. Sleeping in the truck bed. No real destination. Backpackers. Odd jobs. Occasional hotel stays. Then they are gone with their trusty truck.
That song and don't dream it's over, are two songs that gives a feel good but a type of somber feelings.
What are some of the most earwormy songs from Peter Lorres films to you guys?
'Ja die Polizei' from Was frauen Träumen seems to be a pretty popular one among Peter fans and 'As time goes by' is quite well liked in general, but what others do you like or get stuck in your head all the time?
I wouldn't say I like it perse, but I constantly have that damn Zulu warrior/zulu King song from Rope of sand stuck in my head. Especially that fucking "dup duppy dup duppy dup duh da da dup duppy dup duppy dup da da" bit. Drives me crazy
Also I really enjoy that weird, jaunty song from the opening of 'die Koffer des herrn O.F.' It seems like an appropriate song for Stix
And while we're on opening songs for films, AAOL has a pretty good one. I especially enjoy that the opening theme has the same tune as the hymn that the aunts are singing at Mr Hoskins(and Mr Spenalzos) funeral later aswell as that little happydale song Mortimer sings at the end of the film when he's "pretending" to be insane
Idk if Sugar is Jewish but imo her snatch game as Trisha Paytas wouldve been funnier if she played on the pit crew member who's Israeli like her husband (or like. Idk how to set this one up but if she threw in a Jew-Paul)
What Image My Muse Has For Your Muse In Their Phone:
