ASK: This is one of the creators of the priest and incubus trajean au thing - we noticed that you and a lot of others seem to prefer it with the opposite roles as what we intended it to be (it was originally uhhhhh demon Jean haunting Trant and the Dolorian church of Revachol) so!!! What are your thoughts on it????? I'd wanna hear some more about your thoughts if you have any on it at all. Because I know I know, Jean giving up on faith and horny Trant demon, however!!! Twasnt always that way. (Also I know this is already so so long but the fanart that we've seen on Twitter from you and others??? Awesome hello??? We plan to make a post going into more detail about the au eventually)

Jean just works SO WELL as a tortured priest with a terrible grasp on his faith and lust, and a smooth-talking Trant throwing him for a loop.

If you want the original vision, Trant works great as a priest of Dolorian faith, and Jean can be a messy incubus for me. Down on his luck, not eaten (sex or food) in quite a while, and he just sits on the stairs of Trant’s cathedral, and asks bluntly: “Uh excuse me, can we have sex? I am an incubus, you see…”

Trant is quite frankly bamboozled, “Oh my, I thought incubi were dangerous maneaters and devilish seducers to the morally corruptible… not asking upstanding priests outright for sexual favours.” Of course, being a good priest, Trant only gives him food and takes him in, Jean can stay in the monastery. And here is where their relationship grows, they meet, they talk, Trant is very interested in Jean’s life and nature. Lots of walks through the church gardens, reading and writing together, having dinner together and cooking…

For Jean, he notices by his incubus skills that Trant is growing more and more feelings towards him – first it is friendly, then affectionate, then slowly growing to love. And that just makes his mouth water. To me in my headcanons, incubi taste and value sex by emotional worth. One-night stands with no feelings = small pack of salted crackers - sex with someone who loves you and appreciates you = whole homemade soulfood buffet. And Jean, who felt very unloved and hungry for most of his days, chomping down his crackers every day, he is just waiting and waiting, seeing how delicious Trant gets to him. But he also knows that Trant would never do the first move, so he has to. And just being around Trant makes him feel energised, this is new to him.

What he doesn’t know: Trant is very much tortured (Dolorian faith probably very cisheteronormative and patriarchal), he joined the priesthood to escape his bisexual tendencies, and now it is much worse. Not only is his love for a man back, oh no, he is a demon as well.

Meaning, as soon as Jean starts to rattle on this faith cage, it will fall apart very quickly. Of course, touches and kisses are also food to an incubus, and them just touching hands and slowly going over to a kiss is making Jean feral. Trant too. Very messy making out in different secret places, up to frotting and blowjobs in closets and – Trant is more and more in love with Jean, and sees how it changes him: more muscle, more body hair, healthy skin… that man is drinking all the beautiful love energy. And he loves him back.

I think, in the end, after a lot of dramatic revelations and discussions, and a dispute with Bishop Pryce, Trant breaking off, and they will elope together, Jean carrying Trant away on demon wings (“I never thought I could get those!”) and they are a happy couple.

huh, interesting, I think if I see it correctly in my data, Twitter uses more "trantjean", and tumblr "trajean"

I just instinctively used trantjean, because all other ships have full names, i.e. kimharry, jeanjudit, etc.

Trajean is just built different <3 idk I just think that hard t in the middle would make it difficult to pronounce but yea it is kinda weird - JH seems to get used for jean/harry though, and a lot of people seem to affectionately refer to Torson and Maclaine as mac&cheese, so it's not the only one that's weird
