#so i get a ton of political texts on my phone these days for my home state#and they're usually republicans targeting my parents#i just got the first ad that would actually be appealing: someone saying their expertise (civil engineer)#and stating a campaign promise (streamline state budgeting process and manage tax dollars well)#this is unusual enough that i looked him up#because people talking about institutions and public goods is what i want to hear about. tell me how you will do your job#and how you're gonna you know. do infrastructure and stuff.#but alas. his actual website tagline is about fighting the woke cultural decline infecting institutions#and of course pro police and militarized border (without having the guts to say militarized)#so basically like every other political text i typically get#sigh#why.
